What would make No Man’s Sky, the Final Space Game [Question]
This new update is honestly the final form of No Man’s Sky. I fell in love with this game after the Next Update.
However one thing I keep seeing is how this game is cartoonish, doesn’t scratch that (star citizen, elite, starfield) itch,how its not for every space game lover, nothing to do ( despite countless things to do btw)
My question is, what would make No Man’s Sky the ultimate space game, realistic gameplay additions that would change the dynamic, and increase the short gameplay purpose of new players? I genuinely would like to hear everyone’s thoughts
My off the head suggestions:
Death worlds - Truly dangerous planets with deadly fauna, that attack in waves, where you have to protect your base constantly, maybe they attack at night, in hundreds and these planets should have rare or abundant resources. High risk, high reward. Example a hive mind type fauna, you have to gradually defend against, and ultimately kill the “Queen” in their lair to defeat. Or a Sentinel army , that can overwhelm you with numbers etc.
Player can train or create assault units to attack nests etc.
Planet ownership, star system control Build a fleet, train a private mercenary force and fight actual wars to control planets and star systems against the AI and other players. The planet settlement system should be pushed a bit further, where the population keeps growing and the labor force can be put to work on carriers, trained as scientists etc. Settlement can be expanded, connected with roads, on dangerous planets these roads would need defenses. Population can be in the form of immigrants, non carbon based races, can have different ways of population growth. Settlement happiness, rebellions etc.
Different planets, can be inhabited by different races, who have different specialties.
