Questions concerning Purge and The Atlas Path and various other quests [Question]

Howdy! I'm a relatively new player in NMS and have been enjoying the heck out of it.

Over the past couple weeks, I've been making steady progress on the Artemis path questlines and am at the "Purge" step where I need to warp towards the center of the galaxy, receiving portal glyphs on each warp. Once I get all the glyphs, will resetting the simulation prevent me for also doing The Atlas Path or completing the Starbirth quests? Or is it more like a "new game +" situation where it takes me through the portal, but I keep my current unfinished quests and can do them on the otherside?

Most of the information I'm turning up from a google search is 7+ years old so I figured I'd come drop a fresh question here. Thanks for taking the time to read/reply.

What you all got for ships? [Screenshot]

I seem to have a skill for finding exotics. I’ve had the most luck at space stations in vykeen or korvax systems with 3 star economies.

Just go to the space station and wait for first wave, and reload. Eventually the exotic in that system will fly into the station.

As sort of related question, Is there a way to gift a ship to other players? We can gift resources at the anomaly but not ships?

Platinum Drop [Question]

So I went to the anomaly yesterday. And I was waiting for a buddy to get on. And a random guy dropped me, probably 25 stacks of 9,999 platinum. And I looked that’s around 5million a stack. So thank you for that. And he did also dropped me ship parts for a fighter craft. Should I feel bad for accepting the random gift?

Too many Nanites - wanna gift [Question]

4,294,895,680 nanites

Can I give then away or convert them into things I can gift to players?

So back when the space station update dropped, a store glitch caused my nanites to trip over to the maximum amount possible. I've never had an issue with nanites, and recent updates have made them easier to gain.

I'll never spend 4 billion nanites, and I already had most things that I can personally buy.

I wanna share them! So if I can, how?

So… I bought the game on sale for the Switch last time it was on sale for like $10. So worth it, considering I don’t own another console or pc that can run NMS. One Request. Expand Freighter Bases. [Question]

I'm putting everything I need from a base into my Freighter at the Moment.

I have farming, all the Workstations, a Teleporter; refiners, trading posts, etc.

One thing I don't have: Fossil Displays.

It's the only 'decoration', I've tried to add to my Freighter. I can place the Unique Plantlife, but some of the decorations just won't work. They don't show up in the menus. Either I'm doing something wrong, or it's something the Game doesn't allow at present.

NMS neatly gives us most of our 'space travel' dreams, but I know if I lived on starships, I wouldn't set up holiday homes on Planets. I'd trick out a ship and take my base with me, wherever I went.

Can other players rename planets I discovered? [Question]

I built a base on a planet, who's name was previously an unpronounceable string of letters, in a system where all the planet had unintelligible names. Just noticed today that now the planets have names like "Santi" (a possible reference to 3 Body Problem) and "New Rober" and more English words. All say they were discovered by me though.

New player here. WHAT THE FU- [Screenshot]

Okay so I was on my third system and I knew that there could possibly be giant worms already from one of the planets, scared me shitless but I found it out anyways.

So I go to those planet called a “blood planet” and I couldn’t find legitimately anything outside of some weird plants and these hex berry things to set it apart from other worlds.

AND THEN WHOOPTY DO I GET THE JUMPSCARE OF A LIFETIME AS THIS MF BUSTS OUT OF THE GROUND AT FULL SPEED AND DIVES STRAIGHT FOR ME

I think I know now why the core contents are listed as [SCREAMING NOISES]

Captain's Log and Crew Manifest Not Raising Standing [Question]

Hello All - I completed a Derilect Freighter mission and found the captain's log and crew manifest. The local race the Freighter was in is Korvax, and the guild is Merchant's. I went to the local guild to donate, and did not get any reward for standing with the race, guild, or nanites rewards.

My standing with the Korax is 130 and my standing with the Merchant's Guild is 36. Am I missing something or a different reward?

I finally found an S-class derelict... [Information]

Yeah, I know that a quick Google search would have given me the proper glyphs, but I wanted to discover one one my own. It took a few weeks, but I finally got one. If you should be less picky about finding one yourself but want those sweet S-class freighter modules, just take a portal to the glyphs on the Screenshot, fire up your distress signal scanner an go for it.

As I hate running through deserted freighters, I chose a region in which there's some action on the freighters, so prepare for some sentinels. None of those damned eggs, though, but still a lot of pustules to harvest living slime from.

Right before I logged off last night, I ran into this planet with these cool looking columns everywhere that shoot a glowing beam in the sky. That's all it is. No water, just mountainous land with ore deposits, and these glowing columns, everywhere. I haven't event found so much as a trading outpost yet. It's on a red planet, and this was the first one I visited, so Im not sure if there's even supposed to be any life. I built a base there for further visiting, and for access to resources.

How do I play this game exactly. [discussion]

First Time I Played I didn't go far, deleted the save. Second time I played and blindly followed the story, but I guess I got bored cause I stopped, now I'm playing again for the third time, how exactly am I meant to play this game, I like the whole space nomad thing but after a while I just get bored. do I need to just speedrun the story and stuff, before I can start doing fun stuff because during my playthroughs I didn't get to the part where you can like post coordinates for ships and stuff, so I didn't really get into collecting stuff, and I really like collecting. Also, what's expeditions, why do I have to play another mode starting again, it's confusing.

No Space Station!? [Discussion]

Last night while playing I came across a system with no space station. I’ve been playing since forever, like I have well over 2000 hrs over 5ish years?

I have never seen that before. There wasn’t even a ?pace Sta?ion? in it. It was a blue system in Eissentam. I’ll get a screen shot tonight if I have to prove it. Has anyone seen this before or is it a new feature?

I made and ENDLESS RUN in my base…. Fastest time will be posted…. And before you ask it’s too far for a teleport even from the 2nd floor…. [Build]

Working hard to make a busy space port… here is he endlass run…. From bar (plant officer to top (Joe’s) and time ends when you hit the ground again… quite a free fall…

I think this is one of the tallest structures in the game… this is not me rushing just showing…

Keeping track between galaxies [Question]

So I finally made it to a new galaxy and am currently travelling along to the center. However, I would like to take breaks to just explore and venture back to Euclid from time to time. So is there anyway to keep track of the last system I was in while traveling to the center other than writing down that specific space station and finding it on a portal list? I have one base set up but don't want to travel back to it to retrace my steps back to the center.

Appreciate any insight here

Learned almost all of the Gek language?! [Screenshot]

I know that sentence is a simple one, but hey it's all green!

Looking at my catalog, I only have about 30ish words left until I know ALL Gek words. Been learning nothing but 'mystery' words for along time now.

Why am I doing this? It's all part of my diabolical plan to infiltrate Gek culture, start a new spawn at the outer edge of the galaxy rather than near the center (Balaron), and begin my efforts to root out those individuals who still hold to the First Spawn ways. They are everywhere, secretly plotting and planning their next uprising!

Mining all resources with as few bases as possible - How far can we take it? [Question]

A little challenge I have for myself in this game is to have every mineable resource on-hand at a personal mining facility whenever I need it. I try and do this with as few separate bases as possible. I'm getting them whittled down as I survey better and better planet locations that have 2-3 resources as well as a power source within the max extended base range.

Here's what I have so far for my mining bases. (AxA is my lore naming convention to go along with my AcidArgyle username. =)

The "x2" are locations where I'm mining two separate resource deposits. Each mine usually consists of three rows of 3-5 mining units so each line gets ~900/hr and feeds 3-6 or so storage silos. (just enough to get 1-3 stacks of the resource)

AxA Oxygen, Nitrogen, Salt
AxA Sodium, Radon, Dioxite
AxA Oxygen x2, Faecium
AxA Gold x2, Copper
AxA Cobalt (Hex Glitches)
AxA Phosphorus
AxA Emeril, Silver
AxA Activated Indium
AxA Quartzite, Paraffinium
AxA Oceanic: Activated Quartzite, Lithium
AxA Cadmium, Sulphurine, Mag Ferrite (Shards)
AxA Activated Cadmium, Ammonia, Oxygen
AxA Uranium (Shards)
AxA Crystalized Helium (using solar here - my only base without a geothermal power source)

So it's taking me 14 bases to get every mineable resource. Looks like I'm currently missing regular Indium though. Not sure how much more I can combine given what resources are possibly found on those types of planets. Anyone have consolidation ideas?

My friend can't see/join a specific solar system but a random player in my group could. HOW? [Question]

I need help in figuring out the strangest issue I've come across in the game. I play on PC, I found a cool base in the Featured section in Anomaly. It was in some new galaxy. Thought I'll go hop around to a new solar system now that I'm here. I did jump to some random solar system, and it had a redacted planet on it.

I've never seen one before and thought it was really cool. I set up a base, built a normal building and waited to play with my friend later on and show it to him.

BUT I CAN'T. I tried everything for him to come visit the solar system this planet is in but he just can't see the solar system.

He travelled to this new galaxy using the featured base available on anomaly.

I brought him ever so close to my solar system but in his galaxy map, my player icon is just showing up in the middle of nowhere with no way to jump to where I am.

My base is also not showing up in his space station, anomaly or galaxy transporters and we've tried swapping who's the host of the group.

THEN, some random player at the anomaly asked to join our group and I accepted and (forgot about it tbh) and kept trying to bring my friend here.

So I just go visit the space station in this solar system of mine and I see that random player there on the station.

So how was he able to come but my friend couldn't?

Also, we tried the anomaly jump. When I was in thwt particular solar system, my friend was not getting the option to join me in that system upon exit. But the moment I go to a different system, it's possible.

We also tried to do the jump via glyphs and portals. upon entering the glyphs, there was a location error and the monolith said it's taking me to appropriate location which obviously was no where near, not even in that galaxy, it took him somewhere in Euclid?

Can someone explain what's happening?...

I want to get back into the game. I tweaked my settings to were enemies are hostile, crafting aint free, harsh conditions etc. Just to make the game challenging, but i feel like there's not enough action

My own little corner of Euclid [Discussion]

I've been playing for a bit a month, after watch both my sister having tons of fun with this game. I jumped in and found myself loving the game - but after a few weeks I've realized, I've never seen a planet that has already been discovered by someone. No other bases (I'm on a switch so I can't see others in the Nexus anyway), nothing. Have other people experienced that? How long until you found systems that were already discovered?

At first I thought I should hurry up on the quest to get to the center of the galaxy so I could see other people's stuff, but I slowed back down and am going at my own pace. So if you ever discover a whole swath of the galaxy discovered by Zephyr, that's me! See ya out there, Travellers.

Self applied rules on quicksilver shop? [Discussion]

Anybody else put rules on how they claim the free expedition and quicksilver rewards on new saves? My rules are general. base parts and cosmetics are free to grab but the exomech parts require me getting the hardframe blueprints first, and the multi tools and ships require a exchange of equal or greater worth.

List of NMS features available at launch? [Question]

Does anyone have a list of the (few) features that the game had at launch? I played it a little bit then, and I remember zapping resources, mining, flying a ship, and going into a space station. I'm pretty sure there was no building, and you could only have 1 ship. But I'm hazy on the rest.

At launch did they even have teleporters in the station? Did they have the standard planet types? Could you craft resources? A comprehensive list would help answer all my questions.

Hi I'm I really looking for a active community to play with together ( I realize that some things are solo ) but .. it appears to be very hard to get anyone to ether talk on a discord and or get them to stick around and play idk what it is .... Iron Vulture changed... again [Question]

After completing the Cursed expedition, I discovered my fabricated Iron Vulture, with hours of min/maxing, and finding the best SC layout had been overwritten by some random freighter. I spent more hours finding the original space station where I made it, and remade it.

Now its hapoened again. Wtf is going on. Does anyone know a plausible way to get it back, or do I have to start from scratch again... if I even have the parts...

I'm gonna cry [Discussion]

HELLPPPPP I warped away from a pirate freighter I just defeated to go transfer my ship inventory and accidentally saved the game so now I can't go back to a prior save and get back to the freighter and the pirate freighter is GONE 😭 I can't even get the reward for destroying it.

Edit: it was so much better than my current freighter too

Essential set up [Question]

I just got to the anomaly for the first time last night. I was curious if people had tips for like the barest essentials as a foundation for exploration, further gameplay, and QoL. First things you'd go earn/unlock to set yourself up for a good time.

Items: What items should I be sure to have on me at all times, and therefore have a large stockpile of?

Upgrades: upgrades that will make things smooth? Any really effective/fun early ones?

Ships: I found a busted up A class ship, should I fix that up? sell it and keep using my starter ship until I find an S class? Any really important ship upgrades?

Freighter: I don't know almost anything about them other than I'll come across one as I keep visiting new systems. Should I shotgun to this and take the first one I see? How hard is it to switch to a new one?

Bases: should I make one nice fancy base with a teleporter, and mostly just use other bases as outposts with teleport point sto get back to the original base? what bells and whistles do y'all recommend for a primary base?

Audience with the Autophage [Bug]

Im at the part of the Audience with the Autophage quest where I'm asked to use the harmonic interface to assemble the staff but the options to assemble the staff and to exchange void motes no longer exist, they were present before this step of the quest.

There was another post about this issue and the answer was to abandon and restart the quest after finishing another but I don't have the option to abandon the quest in the quest menu.

Has anyone experienced this or found a fix?

No, I don't mean those charred planets with those cartoony-looking volcanos, I mean worlds with rivers and lakes (and oceans?) of molten, bubbling lava with hazy heat plumes rising above them and occasionally spewing lava geysers and other crazy things? And maybe some unique lava fauna on them? Feels like one of the big memey-style SCI-FI worlds we haven't seen yet in this game.

Has anyone ever made a creepypasta for No Man’s Sky? [Question]

I was always fascinated by creepypastas, stories of the paranormal and all that stuff. Though as far as I know, there’s no creepypastas for No Man’s Sky that I can find anywhere on the internet. I’ve been playing this game for well over 2 years and have seen a potential for horror stories to pop up in the game. Things like normally never seeing any other players on your travels and finding one that fails to act like an actual player or stumbling upon weird planets or creatures that do really weird things, hell even writing about a black hole somehow sending you outside of the galaxy can be one. VR Performance on PC unplayable? [Question]

Hey interlopers, I have a PC with an RTX 4060 ti, Ryzen 7 8700F and 32GB of RAM. Every time I launch No Mans Sky in VR, it gets to the menu fine, loads great (if im starting a new game) then without fail runs at about .5 FPS then will crash every time. Trying to load an existing save results in crash on load. Has anyone experienced this before or know a possible fix? This is the only VR game I have struggled to run and I am aware NMS is poorly optitized but should be more than playable in VR with my current hardware.

Not getting ship message in Starbirth, do I have the wrong egg? [Question]

I've gone through the portal to Axentha Sigma, collected the archived souls, and returned to the planet I was previously on through the portal. Based on what I've read in quest guides getting in my spaceship should trigger a message; that hasn't happened.

I had some trouble with the beginning of the quest because I'd managed to acquire multiple eggs (thanks to some very kind and generous people on the anomaly) before actually doing anything with them. I didn't realize this was a problem until the game made me repeat the neural stem step at which point I moved all but one egg from my exosuit inventory. It's been the same single egg in my exosuit until now.

I think somehow this is another multiple eggs confusion situation because the egg in my exosuit is an active void egg right now & the quest message I'm currently getting is "Retrieve your void egg". It seems odd for the final stage of the egg to be the same as a much earlier one but since I haven't touched any of the eggs since the double neural stem step it's definitely 100% the same egg I did most of the quest with.

What [adjective] void egg should I have right now? I've got one other active void egg from when I had multiple eggs in my exosuit in a storage container now as well as a plain void egg but I haven't tried swapping them out yet because I'm worried about screwing the quest up even more.

I'm sure that everyone has seen more than their fair share of recruitment posts here. There's a lot of groups and they're all great, i'm sure! But I've noticed that there's a lot of them that just aren't my kind of group. That's why I found people here on reddit and we made our own group, which i am now formally extending an invitation to for anyone who wants to join.

We don't have a specific goal, we don't roleplay or anything like that. We simply explore, share our findings, we build bases together, share materials, trade eggs, etc. We just hang out and do whatever we want wether its individually or together. There's no hierarchy or factions or any real expectation other than ....well have fun?

In my post, i have included some images from our homeworld that we spent days working on, images of some of the Fauna we have amongst ourselves, and a ship that I built with parts that were given to me by some of my new found friends.

Can you move your construction overseer to a different base? [Question]

Hopefully this question makes sense. I’m in the expanding the base quest, and my current base wasn’t meant to be permanent, so I put the construction room on my frigate. Now I’ve found a much more suitable planet, and want to move my overseer there so I can continue to expand. Am I able to do this? Or would I have to start fresh and find a new overseer?

So my daily starship is a solar one, it has like 1700 maneuverability and I wanted to test out a new sentinel starship I got, so I moved the upgraded I had on my starship and put them on the sentinel one. It marked 1200 but it felt like it had no upgrades. Can anyone explain?

HELP: Starbirth, The Void Egg, Flesh On Metal Bones: Follow the call of the Void Egg [Question]

Hello, hope your all's mothers day was swell. I've experienced a few of these "Mission target is in another galaxy" issues in the past (with 'A Trace of Metal') with completing the main comapign, but most are solved via either teleporting back to other systems via space station teleporter, or resetting the mission.

I am currently in Euclid, the entry in the mission log is titled Starbirth, with subtitle of Flesh on Metal Bones. I can't get past the first step of "Follow the call of the Void Egg" where the "strange song" it gives as hint/instruction, end in "EUCLID EUCLID EUCLID."

I've managed to return to the Euclid galaxy by hopping back to my first base, but no matter what I do, I cannot seem to progress the quest. Any tips? I appreciate any input, much thanks.

Paranoia or prudence? [Question]

So I started a permadeath run last week. I've spent like 10 hours power leveling my exo suit, multi tool and ship because squishy=scary. That's not the thing. The weird thing is for the last couple nights every time I hit the anomaly someone gifts me a void egg. I've got like 4 of these now. Normally I'd just start the quest chain, but with all the grief'd portal talk I've come across I'm scared to touch em. I've got pvp and mp set to off but am I still at risk? Seems like a scam. Thoughts?

New player questions! :D [Discussion]

Hello everyone! I made a post a little bit ago about the giant bone worm Larry, and since then I’ve explored a few more systems and found some funny things!

Soooo I have a few questions about them, but since this isn’t a singular question I’m going to be using the Discussion flair lol

First off!!

Larval cores. What should I do with them? Should I sell them, or refine them into nanites, what would you all say is a good use for them?

Two, I found these grub things. What should I do with them? I have around eight, if I break them does stuff spawn? Also, what’s the point if all they do is summon biological horrors? Are they used for some recipe I don’t know yet?

Three, classes. What does upgrading the class of a multi-tool or starship do? Is it worth doing in the first place or does it only change the letter? Because I have a really good rank C rifle and some weird one i got from a sentinel pillar node that’s rank A, and I’m not sure which I should focus on.

Four, farming/cooking how in the blue BLAZES does one go about finding the recipes for stuff in game? Or is it only outside of the game where you can find recipes for specific foods? Also, how would I go about farming animals? Do I need to make fences or something, and do I need a huge amount of creature pellets to tame one or do I only need to do it once?

Five, where in God’s name do I find freighter upgrades lmao

Six, going off of the multi-tool thing, does increasing the class of a starship actually do anything?

And the last for right now, supercharger slots in tech. Is there any way to get more of them, or are they just random in how they appear?

Sorry for so many questions, but I do genuinely enjoy the feedback this community gives and thought I’d better ask the people who’ve been playing longer than me lol

Idea to make the race track a bit more fun and a new exocraft! [Suggestion]

Fiddled around with the race track a bit and i like that they added it for fun, but i'm not sure if it's fun enough right now to justify making huge tracks. Maybe you show it to your friend once and they make a few laps and that's it.

Imagine now, you make crazy long tracks for high speed exocraft, not saying they should be podracer.. because hello games doesn't have the right to do podracers.. But could still be overpowered jet racer that you can die instantly if you crash.. There's definitely planet that could have nice tracks, one with valley and mountains and then you get inside tiny tunnels for a while. Some tiny moon you could even have the track go around it.

I'm pretty sure it would be extremely cool and you could make tournaments too if more players do it.

Well, 950 hours in, got some nice bases, building a new one in the hub. Bam ,no more parts for any of my bases! There is a 16000 part limit covering all your bases together! I only have 17 bases,nice builds, but far from the 402 base limit. Totally kills the longevity of this game, expeditions and builds are what keep me here!

Do Mods Sync in Multiplayer? [Question]

Sorry if this has been asked before! I did a search but nobody really answered it in the way i wanted to know.

From my quick research, most mods are unintrusive, so you can still play with others, they just see different things. But, as I play with my girlfriend, and much of the time, our weather and visuals sync up pretty well; if we both installed the same mods, would they also sync up, since i heard mods are installed on the client side or something...im new to this LOL.

I mainly just want to add some QOL features, as I play nearly exclusively in VR. But then I got looking at things like "Better Planet Generation", and I really wasn't sure how that might work.. It'd be pretty amazing if we could both see the same thing though.

Oh, and a bonus question!: I read that the modder that was making the game vr roomscale compatible gave up after hello games updates kept breaking their mod (understandable). Are there any other mods out there that might add a bit of that functionality back to the game? I don't mind it how it is right now, but some things are....finicky. Like controlling exocrafts and flying.

I found my ship...3 times over.

I bought it before in this space station, tuned it up, then came back to give it to a pilot to join my squad.

Apparently, the pilot had the same one (same station) and before we made the deal another sister came.

I guess it may have been a glitch, I guess I did the deal then I reloaded the save because I didn't like pilot attributes that changed drastically or something.

Pilot also had n"non-existent luck" trait so there's that. It's been quite an unlucky endeavor.

Ever since my original home planet was destroyed as part of Worlds part I update, I have been searching for a new home. I think I have finally found it! It a very blue purple star lush planet with magnificent mountains and lots of lakes. The new terrian generation algorithm is simply on another level!

Sentinel Achievement [Discussion]

This was the last of the achievements to unlock. I've been playing a long time and wanted to close this out. I set out detemined. I found an extreme environment and built a base specifically to stay outdoors with the "Extreme" warning displayed. I then settled in for the long haul. I got a bunch of refining task going along with other busy work I'd neglected, like consolidating storage. Do I really need so much Emeril? Anyway, I was ready to put the time in.

Ten minutes into the process, the achievement pops up! I guess I had accumulated enough time over the years in qualifying environments. Go figure. Have a base in hell now, although it does produce sulphurene. Funny game.

Solstice palace of knowledge [Build]

Hello everyone you may call me solar of the solstice empire I'm starting a guild of some sort and slowly but surely setting the main hub as you see we are small yet active community looking for people that are chill and interactive because I want this place to be home for a lot of people there will be positions such as captains who handle exploring and naming systems in the name of the empire. Which one is better? ROG ally x or Steamdeck OLED? [Question]

I’m getting one for my anniversary for No Man’s Sky and I’m torn between the 2. Also, the ROG ally display number is fhd 1920x1080 120 hz ips panel. Hi has anyone had a problems with other players? I joined a mission followed them to the target planet they had a base which he pointed to enter I saved and he then had some set up that depleted thermal protection kept killing me and I couldn't leave the base he turned of the teleporters it was built in a crashed freighter,

I lost my full inventory I don't get the point of this should I report him or put it down to someone that is working through their serial killer fantasy found it a real d%£# move definitely won't be joining anyone on any missions now, I just dont get it???

Griefer in the Anomaly [Information]

I was in the Anomaly near the Nexus and someone tried to trap me with some sort of shield and drag me. He tried 3x but failed. Then he tried to get me to join in multi-player, LOL no dude. I had stopped to answer a real world text so I think he thought I was AFK. I'm not sure what the goal was but I remember reading something about them being able to trap you inside a wall?

The name was Fat Police and he had an oversized bone worm as a pet.

Something to keep in mind if you go AFK in the Anomaly with multi-player on.

Which galaxy am I looking at? [Question]

Is there a way to tell which galaxy I’m in WITHOUT calling in my ship, going to space, and activating the galaxy map?

I bounce around galaxies a lot and very often forget where I am. Often, I’ll be standing on a planet or in the Anomaly and just want to know quickly if I’m in Euclid, Eissentam, etc.

Am I missing this somewhere?

News Flash - Atlas Path completion, not required for They Who Returned? [Information]

Latest play through, my Pirate Fugitive, finished Artemis, made the jump to Budullangr and didn't like the spawn planet, so warped to a nearby system to regroup.

Immediately triggered the Hijack and the start of 'They Who Returned'

I was planning to do Atlas path later...

News to me, but interesting, will let you know if i get all the way to Purple systems without doing Atlas. (maybe it's an account thing? I have done it on every other save!)

Washed out UI/Graphics [Question]

Planetary Coordinates are Bonkers [Bug]

Planetary Coordinates used to work pretty well. As I recall, 0, 0 would put you at the North Pole, etc but now they don't make any sense. X and Y are reversed and the icon on the globe image doesn't match the coordinates.

Space Anomalies. [Question]

I got a (an?) space anomaly and it led me to a fossil in space called “the Grave of the Ocean King” I flew through it from a few different directions, bumped it shot at the “crystals” on one end of it but the marker remains and I haven’t gotten any loot from it.

In the light of Ra: My journey colonizing space [Fan Work]

I’m embarking on a long-term project in No Man’s Sky to colonize an entire region of a galaxy using a unique Egyptian mythology-based naming system. Each planet is named after an Egyptian deity that reflects the biome or planetary theme — Ra for scorched worlds, Sobek for oceanic planets, Anubis for dead worlds, etc.

I’ve also created a tiered naming structure: Tier 1: One unique god per biome Tier 2: Epithets and aspects for biome duplicates (e.g., “Thoth – Keeper of Silence”) Tier 3: Purpose-based tags (e.g., “Set – Chromatic Forge”) Tier 4: Moon variants of their parent gods Tier 5: System names based on mythological realms like “The Duat Expanse” or “Osiris’s Reach” Even gas giants and glitch worlds have special deities reserved.

This region will become a network of lore-rich exploration hubs and resource refineries. Inspired by Stargate and my love of structured worldbuilding.

  1. do they tag the planets discovered date by when you rename it I think? Because this planet I am looking at say I discovered it one week ago (probably when I renamed it) though it was where I built my first base about a month ago

B) Are the game's counts of things in your Exploration Guide mission info really correct? As I'm pretty sure somewhere along I was on a planet where it showed I had discovered 11/10 of some fauna, flora, or mineral or possibly even higher than the shown number than that
and this planet I have had my first base on, I have run around it quite a lot in the last month, yet it still shows I am at 11/12 creatures - 11/18 flora, and 19/27 minerals

I know that some rocks & plants can look almost exactly the same, yet I've not found any new plants or minerals in weeks here despite looking

I can post my planet's glyphs if anyone wants to see if they can have more luck than me (this is in Euclid) [and I call it my planet because it's where I built my first base starting the game and then learning base basics - it's a terrible base with no thought put into it though cause I built things as they told me to)

It's just kinda bugging me cause they almost hit you over the head with "Why can't you find everything here!!"

2025 questing question: Does plain "Cactus Flesh" still exist? [Question]

New player here! I'm following the quest lines and need to find cactus flesh. It took three or so hours to find a planet that said it had "Cactus Flesh" on the read-out from space. When I landed, I found aloe and one other named cactus plant, but not the general "Cactus Flesh" I need to finish the quest.
So I'm wondering, in one of the later updates, did they decide to be more specific about different types of cactus plants in the game, but yet never went back to update this noobie quest?

Very frustrating to be on a planet, see lots of cactus plants and still not the specific harvestable rss. I love exploring, but 4 hours to find this stuff is just not very rewarding...what am I doing wrong?

Something special to do with new planets ? [Question]

Hey everyone,

I have an old save (2 years if I remember well) of No Man's Sky in Steam and I wanted to try the game with all new updates.

I wonder if I have something special to do to access to new worlds and stuffs like that ? Or I can just load my previous save and new environments, places etc will be add automatically ?

I wonder if new places requires to move to some special galaxy or things like that...

Patterns In Time Quest [Bug]

I'm at the point in the quest where I have to speak to a korvax cartographer.

The problem is I can query about the korvax history and it tells me about null in my head and then the cartographer will repeat the same dialogue and I can query again.

I've restarted my game and the quest already and nothing seems to have changed. Does anyone know if I'm softlocked?

Perfect for shuttle lovers. Looks good + perfect SC. Probably once in my life I can find something like this, cos shuttles just completely random to meet with nice SC + look.

Simply wait in space station til u see the same ship, no matter what class just buy and upgrade it. Easiest square 4 I ll say.

Question about saving freighter from pirates [Question]

Hey all, I'm new to No Mans Sky and I read somewhere that when you save your first freighter from pirates you can get it for free, I also saw that if its not an S class you can decline it and every encounter moving forward will still have the freighter be free until you claim it. I just had my first encounter and I wanted to know if this was true or not cause the one I saved is a C class and I'd rather hold out for a better one.

What exactly do I do in this game? More context in the post [Question]

So i bought this game god knows how many years ago when it was arguably not very good. I didnt enjoy it and had performance problems so i put it down.

Since then every once in a while i log in and try to play. My performance problems are gone and the farther i get the more I enjoyed it until now.
Now im not exactly sure where is there to do.

I have a drive that can jump to the rarest systems, I (after an amazing battle) captured a pirate frigate.
I have been buying up a bunch of illegal goods doing some bounties buying more then selling them for money in a legal system. With that i bought some S tier ships and some upgrades to them. I love everything ship related in this game.

Admittedly the story / basebuilding didnt really appeal to me.

My question would be: Is there other stuff to do? I feel like even when i progress with the story its usually just go there talk with X locate Y cycle. Am I going to unlock new stuff If i progress with the story or bounties and pirate battles are the main ship content I can do?

Ok hear me out... Camping Update?? ⛺️ [Discussion]

Like most of us, as I travel around I can't help but daydream about added features and future updates. Sure, I would love anything related to a world's pt3, but I'm actually hoping for something smaller in line with the recent Aquarius and Relics expeditions - but this time I'm really wanting to CAMP

It could be a small-ish update that introduces another basic mechanic like fishing, but provides extensive amounts of gameplay.

Here's a small list of ideas I had around this camping theme that would make survival even more fun imo :

• Multi-Knives : yes we have all heard rumors of swords, but I personally feel like a selection of survival based knives added to the game would be way better! We don't need crazy fighting melee mechanics added, just a basic thrust/slash/chop would be fine! Imagine having the ability to pull out a hi-tech Swiss army style knife that you could use to do various tasks, like first aid or fire starting. Knives are like the most basic survival tool one could hope to have in a life death scenario, even if mostly decorative - these would totally enhance immersion/roleplay

• Tents : These could be really great for when you want to have a shelter in a crazy storm, but don't necessarily want to build a base or dig into the ground for cover. Imagine being able to deploy a pop-up hi-tech looking dome tent structure in the middle of a blizzard that protects you! Even better if it has some windows or lantern inside for vibes. Make it part of a quest to obtain, or withhold from players with hi-difficulty settings turned up

• Campervan Exo-Craft : a sci-fi take on the classic RV or camper van - comes complete with pop-up grill nutrient processor.

• Campfires : an added blueprint that allows us to to craft a cute little campfire at our base! Most decorative, but also an energy free light source like the lantern - bonus points if it...

Nightmarish planet I discovered. [Screenshot]

I've only just started playing NMS, so I'm sure this isn't rare. However, I thought it was interesting as the temperature is about 242° F on the surface, and there's more water than land.

It's classified as a Boiling Doom planet, and its only inhabitants are robots and the massive worm shown in image 5. I love that every picture shows a different color scheme too.

Ever make a point of heading AWAY from the galactic core? [Discussion]

I'm currently sitting at perfect 7's, but I'm aiming towards a full million LY's away from Euclid's core. I had some trouble getting the game to let me reset in Hilbert, no matter where I try to jump from and with any fully fuelled shit I still don't get the option, so I decided to do the exact opposite: exploring the reaches of far-space. I think that's such a beautiful thing about this game. It will never matter how many players there are doing the exact same thing as you, there'll always be undiscovered universes to explore and new variances to take note of. I think I'll probably keep heading out until the game refuses to let me go any further. Till I hit some black void in the galactic night and there's no where left to go but back. I'm not sure if that's how it'll work out, likely it'll just keep going, but I'm eager to find out.

PSA: there may be problems reorganising ships that may cause you to lose custom/expedition ships [Information]

Twice I have had my fabricated Iron Vulture seemingly randomly overwritten into a generic Hauler. I'm not sure what caused it exactly but it's speculated by another user that it may be related to swapping ships at a space station to reorganise them.

I'd gotten the parts for the IV, and found a space station with a good SC layout, built the Hauler then installed the tech I had previously Min/maxed. Happy with the ship, I'd imported it to, iirc, the Cursed expedition when it launched, and used it for the expedition. I also change my character's appearance for the expedition, essentially playing as a different race for the variation.

Upon returning to my primary save (did the expedition via the anomaly), my Iron Vulture had changed to a ProGen Hauler.

So I spent ages finding that original space Syston and rebuilt the IV.

All was fine, again until the Relics expedition. I had reorganised my ships via a space station by trading the IV with an NPC ship, changing to the slot I want the IV in, and trading that with it. Again all was fine.

Upon returning from the Relics expedition, I'd gone to my freighter, where the IV waa present and fine. Then I didn't play the game for a few weeks. Loading in the other day, the IV had changed again. I have not modded, traded (with players) or save edited.

I'm not sure if this was caused by the expedition, a game title update, the trading ships at a space station, or changing the character's appearance, or just a random bug. Only my Iron Vulture has been affected. The Wraith living ship, the Boundary Herald, the Starborn runner, don't appear to be affected, neither do any of my 'standard' ships (a solar found at a trading post, a few sentinel ships, and a fabricated fighter).

So just a heads up to anyone with custom ships. I'd personally recomend duplicating the...

Create a function/tech upgrade to perform the ready for action movement when you land from a long fall [Discussion]

Hi. I just came across a video (link below) where someone figured out how to do the "Iron Man" or "Superman" landing after a long fall by performing the ready for action movement in mid air. I am officially asking Hello Games to make this a technology upgrade that I can activate on a button press. Perhaps holding down on the joystick or double pressing the jetpack button like with the super jump technology upgrade. It would be really cool.

Am I softlocked? [Question]

So I was doing the main questline and got all the way to the part where the Atlas asks you if you want to reset the simulation.

I chose not to, because I had my main ship with me and I assumed this was about to send me through the galactic core to the next galaxy, breaking all my modules. Since I wanted to avoid that, I chose not to reset. I was intending to go back and do it in a crappier ship but now... the quest just tells me to enjoy the universe while it lasts?? Same with the anomaly, and I completed the Atlas Path too, but it didn't help.

The only advice online is to go through the galactic center, which I've already done, but I did it two more times just to be sure and no, it doesn't change anything, it just brings me to Hilbert Dimension, like always.

I'm told that I can only access purple star systems or do the Autophage storyline after completing the main story, but it won't let me... So what do I do now? Start a new save?

My wishlist of updates that will never be real [Discussion]

Just to be clear I love the game and the work the devs have put in this game but I just have a small wishlist that I know will never come to be which I wanted to share:

  1. Random starting ship : C grade but any ship other than the starting one

  2. Larger Lods : I think this is term that measure how much area is loaded at once in the game. I want whatever the game has now and increase it 5 times.

  3. Paint shops : I want to paint ships, weapons, any vehicle. Add vinyls. custom Vinyl maker which will appear only in my ship.

4)Trasparent ship dock : would look cool seeing my character inside the ship. If it could also be customizable, It would be awesome

  1. Security pets : I would love to make bases and leave my captured pets as security.

  2. Invite Npc to your base : Would love bases where lively. if they could add a way to give homes to npcs and passing work, that would be cool. like the base builder in fallout 4.

  3. Bar inside apcae station : the npcs could be bars where they can rest instead of stupidly standing in front of their ship in parking area.

  4. Hire or join npcs : I know there is freighters but I would love to be a part of random npcs. even if it's going to planets and mine resources.

  5. Hunger and cooking system : Would love a total hunger and cooking system. foods with meats of animals and plants parts. which have rating system. foods could provide buffs

  6. Remove cheeses : I know people love nanite farms but I just hate all the exploits in game. remove the buying of emergency beacon. selling 5-6 ships and becoming billionaire becomes boring very fast.

I know fully well that none of these will be implemented but just wanted to share my ideas.

Need technical help from NMS community: [Question]

I have a PS4, Steam Deck, a PS5, and a PS5 Pro. I have the max number of saves allowed by NMS across all of these, with max cross-save enabled and tracking 5 saves across platforms.

I want to save all of my saves from PS5 Pro somewhere, and the delete these from the game so that I can start a new set of saves. I don’t want to lose what I have, I want to store them elsewhere so that I can access them sometime later if I want.

As I understand it, right now you can’t use an external SSD to do this, and instead must use a PS+ account, which I have.

So how can I do this? Is this as easy as uploading to PS+ and then deleting the games while in NMS, where those saves are still on PS+ and won’t get deleted or overwritten by new saves I put on NMS, as long as new saves are under different names? Then if I ever want them again I can just down load one from PS+ if I have an available slot?

Can anyone confirm? (Thank you!!!)

What happened? [Question]

Been asking a couple of times of anyone noticed this problem, but I seem to be the only One. Picture 1 shows a Moment during One of the last expedition a couple of months ago. Pictures 2 and 3 were taken a few moments ago. Same Planet, same console. Notice how grass ( happens with trees also, but on this Planet grass Is far more noticable ) Is rendered all the way to the base on the top of the Mountain and beyond in the First picture. Now, this doesn't happen no more. In picture 2 you can easily see how the nearest Hill ( way closer then the One in picture 1 ) has grass only on the closer side, the then It disappear. Picture 3 Is and serial view to show how far from my character grass Is rendered. Is It a bug that anyone noticed? Am I the only One?! I don't know why but It's making me mad😂

My Lower Class Ships [Screenshot]

One of my favorite parts of this game is ship hunting. Some days I’ll load up the game to go do some missions and then suddenly I’m in a space station buying every ship that lands just so I can salvage them and rebuild new ones.

Maybe later I’ll share my rare ships like the Iron Vulture and the Starborn Runner.

(Now if only we could put our decals and posters on our ships.)

Construction Limit Reached [Build]

I feel like there should be a warning in the build menu (or perhaps i just havent looked hard enough) about the construction limit other than just the 3k uploading limit. The upload one at least makes sense because then it'd have to exist permanently for everyone but the 20k one is kind of irritating. I wasn't much into building when I first played this game, I was definitely more of the "i want to explore an infinite number of planets" because that was my jam. After discovering building and seeing its capabilities i started to branch out a bit more and make some bigger things that required more time, detail and effort. And its not to say im even good at building or anything, but I was having so much fun and had so many plans for it until the 20k limit was reached and I didn't even know it existed 😭. At least with the 3k one you can just make multiple bases near each other and connect them as close as possible, so that can be worked around, but the 20k one im just finding out is for the entirety of your save? I dont want to me rude because Hello Games has made one of the greatest games ive ever played and am going to continue playing because I know for a fact there's never going to be an end to discovering things, but I can't wait for some of these minor issues to be solved later down the line because building is very clearly something the game tells you and encourages you to do and really gives players a beautiful way to express their creativity in ways a lot of other games can't accomplish. With the endless world generation I'd think that infinite building on the absolutely insane planets you can find would be amazing, can't wait for it someday.

I feel like I found a cheat code for bootstrapping new saves: find a dissonant world early [Screenshot]

Steps after finding dissonant world: - Hope to last more than 5 minutes on the surface - Optionally add advanced mining laser for farming radiant shards - Mine dissonance resonators from 150u until echo locator acquired (while fleeing from sentinels a lot) - Use echo locator - Set up base in harmonic camp - Take and upgrade free multi-tool (don't forget to add mining beam for double mining/damage) - Salvage sentinel interceptors

So here I am 4 hours into the game with 30 million units, an A-class multi-tool, a B-class interceptor, and 10 spare walker brains, wondering the best way to convert some of these units into nanites...

Can’t make hermetic seal [Question]

So I’ve been playing nms on a new save with my friend in permadeath. I died once and when I made a new character I had to start over and repair my ship. I got my friend to give me hermetic seal to speed up the process but now I don’t know the crafting recipe for it and I’m trying to repair a ship I found on a planet. How do i fix this?

Big in size; Big in hunger [Screenshot]

During the first few minutes of exploring a new world, every time I saw a red dot one of these behemoths would lope over and eat the creature before I could scan it.

The red dot still showed up but there was nothing to scan now.

When I started this game a couple of years ago, you could scan dead creatures - at least for a little while. Now they disappear all too quickly.

The Phantom of Isdoraijung [Fan Work]

Hi, I’m a player in No Man’s Sky who likes to explore and build in the game, mainly the former. I’ve seen many beautiful, terrifying, and strange planets and even had little bases on them at one point though that’s besides the point. What I’m gonna talk about is an experience I still can’t explain and it still freaks me out when I think about it.

There’s one thing about No Man’s Sky that almost everyone can agree on. You usually never encounter any other players when you travel the stars. If you want to find other people, you quite literally have to be part of a community or civilization. I normally expect to never find anyone whenever I go exploring given the insane number of stars in even one galaxy. Anyway, a few months ago, I was exploring in Isdoraijung, No Man’s Sky’s 19th galaxy, just system hopping, wasn’t trying to find anything specific. I came across a system that had an earthlike with an airless moon, I checked the earthlike’s atmosphere and it was blue with blue fog as well so I was really excited and I saved the glyphs and even built a base on there. After setting up the base and going back to my freighter I saw on the chat that someone entered the system, no username. I thought it was a steam PC player trying to be funny so I didn’t think anything of it at first until I realized that there are no bases in this system besides mine, literally none. I was really surprised that someone happened to come to this system at roughly the same time I did and went “wow, lucky me for coming across another player” though I couldn’t communicate with him. I decided to keep the earthlike’s glyphs for future use, maybe lore and stuff I like that. I left the system going to another system about 4000 light years away. I warped to it and scanned the system with my scanner probe on the freighter, that’s when I see that the no name player entered the system....

I always see threads asking to show off your pets but never had quality photos of this guy when they came around. I mostly play on Switch but wanted some crisp PC quality pictures.

He's the weirdest one I've found yet, on an anomalous planet that was entirely black & white and full of cube structures. All the other creatures were pretty standard, except for these guys- I was the first to discover them too which was exciting.

The females have uh, open petals, think Georgia O'Keeffe painting. I find it hilarious.

I've been binge-watching videos about No Mans Sky online and I wanna get the game cause it looks amazing. The endless worlds really pull me in. But as I was looking online, people saying once you visit 5-10 planets, you've already seen all of them and the game gets boring. How true is that statement? After visiting some planets, can you really not enjoy the game for that long? This subreddit exists with lasting players so it has to be false to some extent but what do they mean by "you've seen everything."

Ship system percentage [Question]

Is there percentages listed somewhere? There's a lot of dissonant unmarked systems even with the scanner. I really enjoy naturalling hunting with no help or cheats. I keep the A"a usually if I like it enough. Scrap all b and c. Have so much loot now it's crazy

Freighter Buyer Remorse Solved [Information]

Have you ever bought a freighter and then realized your old one was better?

There is a small window after you buy the freighter when you can reload an Autosave the game created upon first landing on said freighter. A Restore Point is created upon purchase, so the Autosave is the only way to go back.

Note that you can uninstall tech from the freighter to check its base stats and your Autosave will still be safe, BUT if you interact with the freighter terminal a new Autosave is created and you cannot go back. Personally I didn't move from next to the captain in my testing for fear of triggering a new autosave.

Custom ships in squadron [Question]

Hey all. I have a question about squadrons. A while ago I managed to find an S class pilot in a space station and trade him one of my ships before adding him to my squadron. Yesterday I tried to do it again with a custom built ship but after trading ships couldn’t find the S class pilot standing around it. I did have the option to buy my custom ship back. When I reloaded the safe file my custom ship was replaced with a random S class fighter and I was the owner again. How does this work?

Question about neutron cannon trigger [Question]

I started playing on ps4 where the neutron cannon charges when you hold down the trigger and fires when you let go. I now play on ps5 where the neutron cannon charges when the trigger is held down partially and fires either when you pull the trigger all the way or let go. My question is: it is possible to change this control to the ps4 method, where I can hold down the trigger all the way and fire when I release?

Why do so many S class look worse than A or B class [Question]

I’m not talking about visuals. A friend of mine has a class multi tool. Every s class I see is worse than it.

I had a b class cargo ship. My new s class fighter seems to do less damage per shot and succumbs to hear more quickly even though I transferred all the tech and upgrades.

What am I missing?

Star Birth quest has vanished [Bug]

After reloading an older save (transferred from PS4 to PS5), I found that my Star Birth mission is no longer in my log. My save loaded near to the abandoned building to collect the Soul Chamber, but using the terminal only gives me nanites.

I still have all of the living ship components (cracking void egg, mature neural stem, singularity core, mature heart node, hardened shell). I’ve tried leaving the system and returning. I’ve tried saving and reloading in a different system and returning. I’ve tried pulsing and warping. I even refabricated the quest items like the seeds of glass, mind ark, etc. but nothing seems to reactive the quest.

Has anyone else encountered this before? And if so, were they able to retrigger the mission? I had a look through previous questions but didn’t see any other posts about this.

Frigate Expedition Bounty Assist [Screenshot]

Well, that was a new and interesting, if a bit chaotic situation. Got a message from one of my frigates saying they were being attacked by pirates and needed my assistance. Pulled up galaxy map to jump to their location, and was confused as to why they were back in the home system.

Jumped into the system to under chaos. Not only were the frigates under attack, but so was my freighter parked near the station, and two civilian freighter fleets. And when I joined the party, my squadron jumped in and the combat frigates guarding my freighter launched drones. It was quite the light show with 7 freighters and dozens of ships all firing on the pirates. They didn't last long.

Fun this game still has plenty of new things to experience even after 5600+ hours in. If only I had known what was to come and able catch it on video.

Fastest Ship No Pulse [Question]

Trying to figure out what the fastest ship is, without using pulse so just regular boost. I've been saving up s class launch thrusters because I wanna build something wicked fast for space combat- when I can't pulse due to enemies nearby. Keep seeing a lot about maneuverability of different ships but I assume that's just how steerable it is, not your actual speed? Sorry if it's silly question. I know solar is fastest when pulsing

Careful Choosing Lead Frigate for Expedition [Information]

Today was the first time I have received multiple messages from my frigates while they are out on expeditions, so I got to experience some new ones.

One request I received was to rendezvous with the frigates and land on the lead frigate to receive a secure transmission. Well, the lead frigate is a living frigate, so I cannot land on it. I tried landing on the other frigates in the fleet, which transmit the message, but the mission does not progress after responding to the message. It's now stuck in an endless loop.

So, how do you guys deal with fuel for frigate expeditions? [Question]

Hello all,

I’ve really been getting into frigate expeditions and I’ve got a sizable fleet with multiple S-class and A-class frigates. Thing is, I find myself having to manually farm dihydrogen once every two sets of expeditions.

Was wondering if there’s a way to lower fuel consumption, or simply an easier way to acquire dihydrogen/fuel.

Anybody else having this issue? [Bug]

I haven't played in a while and tried playing again yesterday but whenever I try to load my save, after doing the loading screen, it goes white for a few seconds then this error comes up. I looked it up and found that its common after updating, only, it hasn't updated recently and it's only on one save. Is it possible that my save is corrupt or is this an issue on their end?

Got a dumb question... [Question]

So I got the gold starboard runner ship that was for the nms anniversary thing, and I was flying thru the whole set of missions involving the autophages. Thing is, I was doing one where one of the autophages was parked right next to a crashed sentinel ship, and I unthinkingly thought I claimed the sentinel ship but I think I might have instead exchanged the ships. Now whenever in the anomaly, it says I redeemed to get the ship, but I can't find it anywhere, I want the ship back. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Finally have the Atlantian drive [Question]

I finally did everything I need to to get the drive to be able to go to the purple systems but now I can't find any to warp to. Only time I was able to see how the planets were on the purple systems was bc of the expedition before this last one and that was a long time ago. Does anyone have any advice like is it user error is why I can't find any. It seems like I've been playing nonstop to be able to get to the purple systems bc the autophage stuff took forever or it felt that way

How do you like your Sentinel ships? [Discussion]

I've just gotten into hunting Sentinel ships, and I really like how they fly. I now have half a dozen A class ones, but I can't decide which one to blow 50,000 Nanites on upgrading and making into my daily runabout. Do I go for something compact and nippy-looking, or do I choose a big chonkka cos it looks like it means businesses?

How do you prefer yours? Is there a certain style/feature you go for over others? I've decided I really don't like the ones with legs and arms, but a mean looking mouth is cool.

Permadeath Learnings [Screenshot]

With over 400hrs in my main save, I wanted to try some more challenging. Here is what I learnt.

  • It took me about 20hrs, using the portal glitch. Overall it was an enjoyable although nervous experience, with the first few hours being the hardest.

  • Deadly planet environments are the norm, with massive storms. I learnt early on never to stray far from my ship.

  • Caves early on are a life saver for both their resources and shelter.

  • Caution is the name of the game, My first play through was ended by bunch of aggressive animals hunting me in toxic bio. (going into water and picking them off, was the answer) Pirate battles are longer and often ended in expensive repairs.

  • Dangerous fauna and fall damage is incredibility dangerous. My sloppiness almost cost me many times.

  • With costs jacked up, less storage, and "common" resources like iron, carbon, sodium, etc. harder to find in volume, basic builds/progress feel like a real achievement. It wasn't until I found a paradise planet (I only found 2) did it feel like I got on top resource gathering.

  • With the usage costs also increased, I focused on progressing guild ranks for both the merchants (launch fuel) and explorers (warp hypercore), removing a stack of resource grinding later on.

  • I found permadeath extremely glitchy, the number of times I feel through things or they just didn't render properly, made me a gun at restart before I died.

  • I was able to access my various expedition rewards, removing the grind of the multi-tool and ship upgrading.

  • Permadeath still tiggers the Survivor trophy as well.

Accidentally sold mission deliverable - Superconducting Fibre (newb) [Question]

Hey all, I’m pretty new to the game, I’m a week in. I went to a mission board to hand in a mission and check for some new ones I wanted to do. I received something that, silly me, didn’t realise was the deliverable for one of those new missions. I went to the trade terminal after that to clear some inventory slots and sold this item (Superconducting Fibre). When I got to the trade post I was warned I should probably find a new one to replace it.

I’ve figured out that I should be able to get one in a high wealth advanced materials economy system. I’ve installed the economy scanner and been going around the galaxy map checking the purple stars but I can’t seem to find a three star economy one.

Is the space station trade terminal the only way to find one of these? And is there any kind of time limit on these missions? I don’t have anything beyond the standard hyperdrive yet so I’m not going very far, but even then I haven’t found a system yet….

Game keeps on crashing during Starbirth mission in log [Bug]

I'm currently on the part where it tells you to return to your own reality by going back into the portal but everytime I get anywhere near it, not even actually entering it yet, my game freezes up on this same screen (sometimes a different variation of white/black) and crashes, I don't think its my PC but here are my specs:
RTX 4060

16GB DDR5 6000mhz

i5 13400f

Win 11 Home playing through Steam

Is my save done for? Anything else I am able to do? I don't think I can refund as I already have 200 hours in and I really don't want to do that either...

I found a settlement, I built a base computer outside its border, I found a tip that was 2 years old that said to build something on the edge of the base computers border to expand the radius, so I placed down a flag but it doesnt seem to work.

Bugged tag [Bug]

For some reason there is a tag “Scholar Entity Lavs” stuck to my living ship. I wouldn’t mind it, maybe even find it kind of funny, like the ship having a name of its own, but whenever I fly it flickers and jitters around and it’s really annoying. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

Best flying creatures and where to find them? [Discussion]

Everytime I get a new one I'm always so pleased. I've found weird mushroom UFO looking things, floating, shimmering orbs, strange fleshy-looking sea creatures who fly languidly in the air and leave a cool stream of blue smoke behind them (I call them fart fishes, tbh). Then there's the classic and most practical in terms of speed with those nice butterfly/dragonfly things that most people use as their main for exploration. Then one day I spend some time dancing at the Nexus with Fart Fish Mark.2 doing his thing above me, thinking I have it all figured out, and this other player randonly joins in and summons up this majestic bird-like creature and I'm just thinking, 'Fuck, I've really been served here'.

I'm sure this is a very common post here, and I'm sorry if I'm clogging things up unnecessarily, but those flying creatures are truly one of my favourite things about the game. Yet some seem arbitrarily untameable, so it makes taking the effort of reaching them feel dull at times knowing you'll get up there just to realise it's just another species of unruly sky beast. Please, don't hesitate to share what you've found, and if you have co-ordinates to their planets of origin, rest assured I will be going there :)

Anyone ever share your save with Hello Games via cross-save/zen desk? They requested my code and nothing has happened [Question]

My main save (400 hours ps5) has been inaccessible since March 8 due to crashing when logging on. I tried every fix, although I was never able to try joining a multiplayer session because there was a patch shortly after and you can’t play multiplayer until you log on single player after a patch.

I had tried zen desk early on, but I tried again after a couple of patches because it looked like the patches were aimed at fixing the likely cause of my problem (crashing while base building on ps5). Upon submitting second ticket, I got an email with instructions to enable cross save and reply to email with my cross save code which I did. They wanted to take a look at my save. I gave them my code. Most if not all emails from them seem written by bots.

Now a month and a half has passed. I’ve tried to get an update but I just get a reply to my email with no text but it has a “follow up” tag in the subject line. Save is still borked.

Anyone try this? Do I just need patience? I thought they would just move my character for me. I’m guessing they are busy but I’m starting to lose hope. Will they fix my save or look at it and use whatever they learn for a future patch? Who knows.

I have a doubt [Question]

I was organizing the technologies installed in my Exosuit and noticed that when I placed technologies with the same purpose or similar ones, they would have a border of the same color. I’d like to know if that makes any difference. One of them is in a special overload slot, and its border flashes yellow and orange, so I’m not sure if that actually affects anything or if it’s just a visual and intuitive detail

Deep water base progress [Build]

I finally found a way to get a clear pic of my deep water base. This one has taken some time..

Most players won't have a clue about what's going on in the lower right with the 2 lighted areas. I hope to have a base tour video soon to show it.

You can't really see the lower section under the rings. And no one has a clue about what the lower ring is. It hasn't ever been done in the game any where else. By anyone.

This base clearly highlights the big misstep hg made in giving us deep water. They didn't give us parts for it. The water is dark and we don't have parts for that. The lights simply turn off as you get 110u from them. That's sad. I have land pads on the base. But no. You can't land. It's for take off.

And yes. All parts from the game. Done on ps5.

Prefab parts can be creative. One just has to change their mind on what to look for.

How do I let everyone know where my bases are so they can come get free stuff? 🤔 [Question]

I have a base for every mineable resource set up on bases on different planets. I’ve put the words “free” at the end of each one, for instance, for my gold mine I put “free gold!” I have several huge venom sac farms. I have huge outdoor grows of cactus, solarvine, frost crystal, star brambles. All 4 ingredients for making circuit boards. Other than putting “free” at the end of each base name, how else can I get people to come use my bases whenever they want? I really don’t need the resources that often and I want to share🙂

Fave way to Roleplay in NMS 💫🚀 [Discussion]

After the 300hr mark and a long lapse in playing i kinda needed to spice things up a bit to keep it feeling fresh.

This method got me back into the game and not only that i became mildly addicted again. im sure there’s a billion ways to roleplay but this worked for me as a fairly casual gamer with a busy job :

1 - One Iteration per Galaxy : I used to constantly change my appearance at the modifier, sometimes multiple times per session. Now i stick to one “persona” or race for each galaxy im in. So during my time in Eissentam, i was a rag-tag battle autophage build, but when i hopped to the next galaxy my identity got a reboot too, and now throughout all my travels in Doctinawyra i am a Gek fishmonger full-time and part-time ship salvager.

2 - Purpose through identity : Choosing these loose themes in each galaxy to adhere to gives my whole time spent in a particular galaxy a new purpose, and has me doing more specific tasks that align with that character instead of running around doing lots of random things. Over time i imprint specific memories to each galaxy based on who I was at that time. instead of each galaxy being the same experience each time, this creates a feeling of many lives lived within one existence. the travelers seem capable of this regenerative ability in the lore to some degree, so it feels okay to me to think of my time in each galaxy as an entirely separate reality unto itself.

3 - Take loads of photos : during time spent in a galaxy as one persona, take tons of pics to remember yourself by. I got lucky, or so I thought [Information]

TLDR: My C Class Radiant Pillar outperforms my S Class Exotic using the same base weapons Photon Cannon, Rocket Launcher.

I

like to start over from time to time and see how I would do from the beginning again.

Was having an interesting playthrough, when I got to the Artemis crash site, there was no ship. Not even after reloading.

Okay game, you owe me one.

Do a couple of distress calls, help a Vykeen out.

And then,

I came across an exotic.

Never had this happen to me before, squealed in childish joy.

Immediately repaired the photon cannon, transferred the rocket launcher off of the Radiant Pillar, and might have talked a little smack to that pirate scan that was waiting to happen.

Well, true story, my photon cannon on the S-Class exotic with a 389.0 damage rating was hardly doing any damage to the pirate shields. I couldn't actually break through the shield on the other ship before they would recharge. There were 2, no 4 really big ships, and it's the first time I have ever had to run away from a space dogfight because I couldn't do any damage of significance.

I believe the reason might have something to do with the point zero at the end of the damage rating.
The radiant pillar has a .4 at the end of it, and .9s seem to do the best.

So if you're out there, wondering why your brand new S-class ship with a higher damage rating isn't outperforming your previous ship, it's probably because of that .x rating.

My Callsign is Spirited_Ad3028. This is my painting of the Dangerous Planet "Spirits Hope" , named by the No Man Sky community. I Leave this log as a complete mission briefing, for those who are interested in what happened to me on this world. ""After about two weeks of adventures, I journeyed to a new solar system and traveled to the first planet I saw, which was scanned as a Vapour planet. I commonly land and forget about having launch fuel — typical rookie mistakes. This time, it was a terrible one.

I came down into the planet's atmosphere and saw nothing but ocean. I spotted a small pillar of rock and decided to land. I was interested in these Hycean (water) planets, and wanted to explore one.

When I left the ship, the toxic damage was so insane, I could last about 10-12 seconds outside before the toxic air killed me.I couldn't go far. Not only that, every 3 minutes a storm rolled in. This storm created a lightning show that lit up the sky, with waves towering 30 feet around me. I couldn't leave the ship at all during these moments.

I sat back in the ship and quickly realized I needed launch fuel. Ferrite was all I needed — and I literally had zero.

Ferrite is a common resource, found all over in rocks. My thought was to get out and look; I only needed a few rocks. On the first attempt to run, I saw no rocks on the pillar… back in the ship. I then decided to jump into the water. I ran and leapt in, shooting aimlessly into the depths for a Ferrite rock — nothing. I repeated this in every direction: north, south, east, west. No Ferrite in my entire survivable vicinity.

Reckless and hasty thinking is what foiled me. I immediately dismantled my rusted metal, thinking it would give me Ferrite. Then I destroyed the refiner, thinking it would give me some as well. Those quick, thoughtless actions sealed...

Galactic Domination

New Weapon Classes: Sniper Class Blaster Rifle (Used for hunting larger animals and sneaky kills on players), Assault Class Blasters (Used for fighting off waves of Enemies or invasions), Scatter Class Blasters (Shotgun used to execute players at close ranges or break down walls) Quickfire Class Blasters (Used to quickly kill multiple small creatures and distract large creatures)

Clans: In-Game clan mechanics, all members of a clan know where each other are, the creator of a clan has control over all factors of a clan but can give some power to others in the clan. All clan members can teleport to one another’s base (if allowed by the other clan member).

Factions, Kingdoms and Empires: After a Clan gains more than 50 members, it can be transformed into a Faction. After 100, it can be transformed into a Kingdom, and after 200, it will become an Empire.

After becoming an Empire, squadrons, frigates, and freighters will frequently offer to join your fleet. You can easily grow your fleet and soldiers this way.

Taking Over Planets and Systems: After forming a faction, Planet conquest becomes available, allowing you to create towns and cities, with laws and economies. After most of the planets in the system are controlled, the faction will control the system. Leaders of a faction can assign a player to control a system or planet. Certain players can be outlawed from systems and they wont be able to teleport to it. If they enter the system, soldiers will try to shoot them down.

Hi everyone, after watching a YouTube video about the real life events of this game I thought I had to give it a go and I have to say so far I’m loving it…. I’m only up to the anomaly space station so far…. Pressing P always Brings up Log screen regardless of Bindings, how can I Change this? [Question]

Pretty straightforward. I use some alternate bindings because I have a non standard keyboard layout, and it looks like its been hard coded to bring up the LOG screen. Is an S tier Sentinal Interceptor rare or are they all like it? [Question]

I came back to no mans sky after playing it upon its release. And it's so good now! But I was enjoying the space combat a lot so after some fighting a freighter came which I destroyed and yada yada led to me finding a Sentinal Interceptor that was S tier. And it's super impressive stat wise.

Are they all S tier or do you always get coordinates for a downed ship? If you can sell them (or trade them I'm assuming you can do both) it seems a very easy way to make mega bucks if they are all S tier.

Also are the any downsides? I know they need different fuel but I have a base and teleporter so I can go back and stock up whenever I need radient crystals etc.

Better Creatures [Suggestion]

I feel like it would add so much atmosphere if they did a creature revamp. at the moment it feels like all the creatures are very similar, but it’d be cool if they used like AI to incorporate the “other notes” into the creatures design and added more diversion between creatures on different planets.

Found the most bare Interceptor I’ve ever seen. I really like it! Anyone else into this vibe and/or have a similar interceptor? [Screenshot]

This probably isn’t to everyone’s taste in interceptor ships but I really like it. This is the first one like this I’ve found. It has the best cockpit view of any of my ships (see pics) which is ironic for an interceptor and it looks like a flying autophage head in third person which is… fun. If you have a similar one I’d love to see it. Don’t need coordinates or anything. Just interested in seeing variations of this ship other ppl have found. Who else is into the smallest, minimalist ships out there?

Trading issues on series x [Bug]

Hello fellow travelers, brand new player here and I'm facing an issue with trading and I've tried looking up answers and am getting nowhere. MASSIVE Copper deposit [Screenshot]

So, I was tracking a copper deposit on my home planet, and when I arrived, I found what looked like a frozen waterfall, but golden yellow. It turned out to be a massive deposit, over 1800 units! Unfortunately I was only able to capture the last part of harvesting, but you can see the vertical trench I carved out of the mountainside. Is this some kind of record? Definitely the largest deposit I’ve seen.

Harvesting hydroponics [Question]

Quick question: is there a simple way to harvest all four trays in a hydroponic planter, like you can do in the domes and freighter rooms? I went and set up an underground cave full of dozens of nip nip plants, but I'm having to go around every tray individually come harvest time – and since I play in VR, it means physically reaching out and yanking every bleedin' one of 'em.

Best way to play? [Question]

I haven’t played many survival games. But I’ve always wanted an endless game to play. No man’s sky is that game. Being as I’m just getting into it. Would a survival type mode be better? Or doing that open world creative mode where I can do anything and everything without worry? I know the odds are slim with how vast it is. I urgently need help if anybody can please help me! [Bug]

So I was playing and doing a freighter thing in space and then boom randomly my character glitched tf out and was invisible and I couldn't really do anything but I found that if I went first person I could sorta fix it so I finished up there went to go decide what to do with the captains log ect. And then boom fucking pitch black screen and, no not a error with my hdmi or anything of the sort it's literally my game save and it's stuck like that after reloading.

Do I need to manually move freighter cargo? [Question]

I'm moving to a new freighter. I got really lucky with my first freighter when it was an A class pirate freighter. However I really want the clean interior so I'm moving to a new one(when I find a nice one)

I know when moving freighters the rooms can be automatically transferred but do or should I be moving the cargo (freighter built in storage as well as the extra buildable room storage)?

Anyone have coordinates for Bubble planets? [Question]

I built a really nice base last year, honestly it was my favorite base, on this awesome, gorgeous purple bubble planet with mild weather. But after an update it turned into a grey-blue, rainy almost swampy planet... and it wasn't a pretty sight anymore. It made me pretty sad and I ended up dismantling and deleting the base so I could pack up and redo it somewhere else.

Trouble is, Bubble planets with milder weather are kinda hard to come by. I have a base near a portal that's on a Bubble planet, but the weather is terrible and the storms make the bubbles go nuts and game lags a bit so I only use it for when I need the portal.

I'm not super picky about colors, but I'd love to check out any cool Bubble spots y'all might have seen or have on hand! Thanks in advance, Travellers 🌌

Picture this, I wake up kinda early and can't go back to sleep. So figured might as well find and craft that auto charger, neutron cannon.

Glyphs [Question]

I am stuck on the space anomaly beyond the system mission. I've done all the required things but can not progress. I'm trying to unlock glyphs in order to get my living ship. I only just started playing a few months ago, and I'm hooked. Relics was great, but I'm eager for more expeditions (and frustrated that I've missed out on so many past expeditions). Download and import other bases? [Question]

Hello guys! I wonder if it's possible to import some other player bases? I already use save editor but I can't find bases on internet that I could add in my own game? I hate to build stuffs on game (specially houses etc) so I would like to know if it's possible to find some json files or stuffs like that? Like sharing creation in Minecraft for example. How do you actually play this game? [Question]

I have been playing on and off since release, and the game has certanlty changed alot and keeps changing. Whenever I feel like playing this again, I start a new save, invariably tavel around aimlessly, haul some cargo, follow the nonsense (atlas ?) main quest for abit, then get bored and put it down for another year. I generally enjoy games that you play long term and can get invested in. From what I gather, many people have that type of relationship with this game. So my question is how do people manage to get invested? What should I do and how should I play in order to not get bored 5 or 6 hours in?

I wish the frigate had automated repair bays/crews [Question]

I'm just starting this game again (3 weeks in) and I am searching for downed ships to then customized my own.

I find it tedious to find a downed ship, have it show up in my frigate and I have to manually repair them. Shouldn't the stored items in my frigate along with the crew...be able to help repair them for me?

I can't sell them or dismantle them for parts at a space station until they are semi-repaired and limped over....

Question about the Worlds update [Question]

With the updates made to, i assume, the world generation, to find and explore these new planets, stars or updated and or upgraded geography of planets from the latest Worlds update, should I travel around a bit from my starting "bubble"?

Already fixed but very weirdly cool "blind" glitch I ran into [Bug]

I was aquatic landing on a new planet and my character went near entirely blind, lighting affected the tint of my screen and the ui was fully operational but everything else was just dark and blank. Hard to get around but interesting to manage, switching camera perspectives, reloading saves, quitting to mode select didn't do anything but closing the game and reloading did fix it.

The First Traveler [Question]

Hi all. I need your help with a mission. I’ve been sent to a location of a crashed frigate and need to recover a Log Encryption Key from the secure containers. The problem is that the secure containers at this frigate don’t give me anything. They also don’t show up when I’m looking through my visor. I focussed on other things but even after some time it still doesn’t work.

Trouble with finishing bounties [Bug]

So I did a smuggling mission and now have to "return to the Bounty Master" to collect my reward but both the original bounty and the rewards aren't there to collect, which makes me unable to do any other bounty missions. Does anyone know a fix or has anyone else had this problem?

EDIT: I did this mission the night before and got off before I tried to redeem the rewards

Question Regarding Freighter Hunting - Base Stats [Question]

Recently hunted a couple freighters and swore I saw the initial base hyperdrive ranges with lower stats immediately after buying the freighter than they were after some gametime had passed. For example the 4SC square venator off Hero2u's youtube channel had a base range of 165LY right after I bought it but then a while later it was 171LY. Is this a bug? Are freighter hyperdrives damaged in the subsequent space battle and display lower stats? Have I been playing way too much NMS and am hallucinating?

NPC Pilots have turned me into a Space pirate overnight. [Discussion]

Why do NPC pilots always want to fly right where you’re aiming your weapons? I was in space, mining for Tritium because my stock was running low. As I did so, I accidentally hit one of the pilots, causing a dogfight to break out. I tried ignoring them while I mined, but eventually said fuck it and shot them down. This of course sent the sentinels after me, in which I went through all 5 levels ending with the sentinel freighter. I destroyed them all, which lowered my ranking for the Korvax (which is fine, they’re probably my least favorite).

This seemed to daisy chain even more pilots and freighters, and after an hour or two, I had destroyed multiple freighters plus 40-50 starships. I started looting all the cargo pods, and ended up with 7-8 S class freighter modules. My Korvax level is now -88, and I’ve gained quite the reputation for the outlaws.

So yea, I’m now a high ranking outlaw all because the NPC pilots have zero sense of self preservation.

Hello fellow travelers I'm solar the grand high archon of this beautiful empire although small I think we can do do better and become greats of the stars ... There are three categories of positions in this group that I would like to see go further I need captains for exploring these captains will eventually be able to do mass exploration with a irl team of there choosing they also handle scouting and documenting systems under the name solstice empire territory ( S.E.T. ) ( keep in mind yes planets and such other than the system is free game to name whatever you're heart desires ) also they take planet glyph cords for destinations of interest for the second class position is the architects . Now it's pretty obvious what they do .. but just in case people need to know they build bases that look nice and vibey for people to chill or anything really we want people to feel at home so chilling in a crazy cool base with friends is always fun ( PS I used to play a lot of VR chat and this game is kinda got chill vibes and possibly outrank in terms of easier than coding a new universe room where you chill so it feels more personized ) but architects not only build but gather resources cant build without resources ( well unless you use the difficulty setting but lots of people want emersgen ) so in other words architects build bases in systems that are documented by the explorers who send pictures in ( I'ma say discord cause it's very versatile) and why you may ask architects doing this well given how big of a community I want I also want our builds and empire to be seen featured and who knows what if we get the attention of the creators of the game and think it's cool ( don't think I forgot about the PVP peeps in this world I have the greatest job for you guys. Which leaves me to my third class the officer.. now you heard me right I need officers for defense...

Cannot build base teleport module in my buddy's outpost [Question]

It's been four years since we last played, and I'm kinda fuzzy on how it works.

My buddy and I made new characters, got our ships, he built a small outpost. I went there, and I'm trying to build a base teleport module inside his outpost. The game takes my materials - but doesn't place the module.

I've tried this three times, and I'm scratching my head. Am I not allowed to build inside his house? Why does the game take my materials but give me nothing?

Found this interceptor that I think looks pretty neat [Screenshot]

I was like “oh yeah it’s pretty cool looking and yellow” so I claimed it and took off and OH MY GOD. Gotta be one of the coolest take-off transformations I’ve seen.

It’s only a B class cause I found it in a 1* economy, but if anyone wants one to grab and upgrade the portal address is in the pics, and the coords for the best stats I came across are (-4.8, -56.2).

Definitely need to name it after a hawk or something.

What to do on the game? [Question]

Hi, I’m currently out of ideas of what to do on the game.

I’ve already completed Artemis path and the autophage quest. Also I alr got a settlement too.

What to do on the game? I love this game, the mechanics, the world, the animals, everything. But I’m not that type of guy that just explores and gets amazed with the looks of a planet, I want to do actual stuff instead of looking for beautiful places.

The planet’s surface was a cracked mirror of obsidian, each shard reflecting a sky that wasn’t a sky—just a void, black and absolute, where stars had been snuffed out. His visor’s display flickered, scratched and smudged: 19% oxygen, 6 hours of power. Eight months he’d been at this, limping from one dead world to the next, each more barren than the last. The galaxy was a mausoleum, its planets silent, its stations gutted, its echoes erased. He was alone. Always had been.

His ship, Drift, squatted a mile back, its hull pocked by micrometeorites, its frame creaking from too many jumps. He’d left it to chase a signal—another faint pulse, like the ones that haunted his dreams, tugging him toward the galaxy’s core. He didn’t know why he followed. The pull was a barb in his chest, reeling him through the dark, system after system, toward something he couldn’t name.

The terrain sloped into dunes of bone-white powder, shifting underfoot, whispering like breath just out of earshot. He crested a ridge and froze. Star birth void egg question [Question]

I found a 3 year old post while trying to research this question before posting here. I’m stuck on one part of the top comment that helped people. The void egg seeks a specific world. You’re supposed to use a portal, which I did, I can use all 16 glyphs. I put in the proper glyphs that the egg shows and it warps me to a planet and still says the current planet does not match. The helpful comment I found said once you’re through the portal get in your ship and it’ll instantly give you the coordinates. I did that and I didn’t get coordinates, I even went pulse drive into space and didn’t get coordinates either. I’m sure I have the proper glyphs, it’s what the egg says and I did them in order so I think I have the right address🤷‍♀️ I’m sorry in advance if this has been answered before, but I just can’t find it.

Did I accidentally lose my ship for good? [Question]

I was on a mission where you have to listen to an emergency signal. Next to the signal was a broken down ship. I summoned my own ship to be by me then went over to inspect the broken down ship. I clicked compare and was in the comparison menu when I saw the claim option. I clicked to claim it because 6.5 million is way more than I have now. I figured I could find some way to sell it later.

Then I listened to the emergency signal. When I was done, some sentinels popped out and started chasing me. I ran to where I thought my ship would be, and it was gone. I died, went back and my ship was still missing. I only see one ship on my HUD indicator, and it’s the broken one. So now I’m stuck on a planet with a broken ship — way more broken than the initial ship was.

I read elsewhere that there’s two options when claiming a ship: adding to your collection and replacing current ship, with the latter permanently eliminating your existing ship. I may very well have clicked through the menus too fast.

Am I missing something obvious? Is there a way to see if I still own the original ship — even if it went off-planet? At least then I could use a teleporter instead of having to build all these exotic parts or buy a pricy new ship. I can’t even go back to an old save because I had apparently replaced the auto saves getting in and out of the broken down ship.

Playing Xbox Series X, if that matters.

Issue with fossils [Bug]

I just downloaded the game, and was quickly intrigued by the idea of collecting fossils. So far, I have found three of them, but all three are titled %FOSSILADJ% %FOSSILANIMAL% %FOSSILPART%. The colors are fine, the prices are fine, but I don't know if there is a reason why none of my fossils are getting a name generated. Does anybody know how I can fix it?

I’d love more humanoid races + character/ship designs. Is this in the works? [Question]

I LOVE this game. Just starts playing around a month ago and I have 150 hrs already.

For one, I’d love to be able to change the color of my ships.

I chose anomaly as my race as I just imagine it’s me or, but it’d be super cool to be able to design the being underneath the helmet.

Romance/mating would be cool to. Starting my own community with the resources I gather and build would be so fun! Something Kinda like fallout shelter too. Where I could pair others as well.

I’m sure they will add similar features one day. I just feel like it could go so much further with added immersive features.

New "perfect" world [Screenshot]

I just found this a few galaxies over from the greyscale planet I had posted. It said I had discovered a perfect planet when I landed, I guess there's an in game achievement or something for it? It's loaded with creatures and all kinds of plants and minerals. I had the base computer out as soon as I hopped out lol.

Tip for those of you into base building [Information]

I just leared this by accident. I haven't seen it widely shared online, so i'm sharing my discovery here.

If your planetary base has a minimum of two landing pads, NPCs will occasionally land on one of the pads. You can then trade resources with the NPC, or even buy their ship. Many NPCs also sell items you might need such as Tritium.

Strangely, moving my primary ship (and just landing it on the ground somewhere nearby) did not result in NPCs landing on my now unoccupied landing pad. You need to have a minimum of two landing pads. Hope this helps someone.

An earth like paradise planet right next to a white grass planet with floating islands! [Discussion]

The new No Mans Sky Reddit planet has white grass, blue water, blue skies, and floating islands. However if you visit the system right next to it you'll find the best earth like planet I have ever seen, with green grass, blue water, blue sky, and a fairly densely compact forest full of green and blue trees.

These are the glyphs to the earth like planet, and the glyphs to Lowella are on the right side of the screen

Honestly in my opinion the No Mans Sky Reddit community should do more with Lowella. I think that they should turn it into a very large community kinda like the galactic hub, and include many more planets like the earth like one right next to Lowella. I would encourage all of you to come to this earth like planet or Lowella and put down a base down to grow the community.

Newbie Question: Are Salvaged Parts Reusable? [Question]

After I salvage a wrecked ship that I have found, do the pieces I get, once used, can they be reused again later, that is if I am not satisfied with my build.

I noticed the salvaged pieces build up in my inventory over time. I'm afraid to use them right now.

Love fishing but ship motion makes me nauseous while landed on water. Is there a way to disable it? (PS4) [Question]

As per title. Love the fishing side game but unless the water is still a ship landed on the water rocks in a way that makes me feel a little nauseous, not enough to feel sea sick but enough to make me quit fishing. IDK what it is about NMS in this regard - I love the ship motion in Stranded Deep and it doesn't make me feel sick.

I think the skiff does the same thing but I've not liked the skiff so I don't use it.

I've looked through game settings and found nothing. I tried reducing storm effects in settings but it doesn't effect ship motion.

Am I missing it or does NMS just not have a way to disable the ship motion on water?

I was a little sad after that, wondered if that was the last of the major story...but I only just received the glyphs...haven't even built my stargate yet...when does that happen?? Now what?

Is it possible to find my ship? [Question]

I accidentally swapped my ship for a wrecked one. i repaired the wrecked one and flew off to salvage it as part of the harmonic camp quest line. What i didn't realise is that instead of just being added back into my roster of ships my old ship gets left on the planet. Now normally i wouldn't mind so much but this ship was a ship i made myself. It was and s tier solar ship with a crap ton of tech on it. i know it was near a waypoint if i can only get back to that waypoint i should be able to get it back but as of right now i have no idea how or even if i can get back to that waypoint. I can see the waypoint in my discoveries but i have no option to mark it or anything (which by the way is bullshit). Why call it a waypoint if it doesnt even leave a waypoint. Anyway i would really appreciate it if someone could help. If its gone then so be it i guess i'll be taking another long break from the game while i mourn my loss. If someone manages to help me find my ship i will name all my kids after you.

I am getting bored [Question]

My situation is as follows, I recently started playing the game again after a long time, about 4 years, I remember having a lot of fun with the game but the thing is that I played in creation But now that I'm back playing I decided to have the real experience of the game in normal mode, but I just can't enjoy it and see the video of people doing lots of cool things, Maybe it's because I'm early in the game, and I don't have a lot of stuff unlocked, but I thought I would play the game to really explore but I can't seem to do anything without having to do a Lots of other steps And the missions are very boring like I don't want to build a base and go after a signal but since this is the main mission apparently I have to do it, if anyone can tell me if this is my problem or if the beginning of the game is really like this, or if I'm doing something wrong

I can't stop getting jumped by sentinels [Discussion]

I have a normal save. In this save I end up taking control of a settlement. Two days later, I have that random sentinel invasion thing at the settlement that leads to the mission. The sentinel mech one shots me two times (I have an s-class exosuit upgrade and a personal shield on my multi-tool.) Eventually, I kill all of them. Two hours later, I was mining asteroids, and I get jumped by interceptors for no reason. What did I even do? I killed them and used the pulse engine. I went to go look for condensed carbon to get more antimatter, and I land on a moon. Keep in mind that this solar system has a peaceful combat rating. Out of nowhere, bam. 5 sentinels on me immediately draining my health. I run away with the pulse engine. I then go to a barren planet. I get jumped by sentinels. I run away. I then go back to my settlement. "Anomalous Sentinels." Eventually, I use my carbon and quickly refine before the 6 sentinels on the moon I landed on get to me. I leave the system immediately. What happens after I land on a completely new planet? Sentinels.

I don't know what to do, but these sentinels won't get off me and I don't really want to fight or keep running from them.

S Class upgrade vs Discovery [Question]

So I'm decently new to NMS, but I was hunting for a sentinel multi tool and was excited when I found the one I wanted, but it was a C-class

Are S-Class Sentinel / Regular Multitools found throughout different galaxies better for stats than upgrading at a terminal, or does it not matter?

Missing Stranded Pilot [Bug]

Followed a distress signal from a planetary chart here, but there's no pilot to be seen. I wouldn't really find it that big of a deal, but it's located on the same planet as my main base, so since I can't finish the quest of talking to the pilot, the distress icon is just constantly there. Couldn't find any previous instances of this happening on reddit or steam though. Not sure what to do about it.

Should I start a new save after updating from 1.0 to 5.0, or just roleplay a pilot waking up from cryosleep after 500 years? [Question]

Basically title.

Got the game in 2016, liked it for what it was, but basically didn't play it again after that. Got a month into a new game before realising I was still on the launch version.

After updating, my money's worthless, most of my tech is obsolete, I'm wildly underpowered for the galaxy I'm in, and I've got a bunch of Atlas Stones for seemingly no reason. It's like I landed in a space station, and just stayed in my shop as hundreds of years passed outside.

So what should I do? Just a new save, or pretend that I Captain America's myself by accident and continue with this save?

Tips welcome.

Took me about two hours of playtime, of which propably 1,5 h was just playing (mostly finding all the 15 species on a planet to get nanites), and the final bit was done fast. I don't know why I had stopped so close to end on my permadeath save, but now it's finally done :) Only things needed to 100% the game are the last two achievements of Extreme Survival (539,1 hours of play time, why I haven't done those yet I do not know).

Let's give shuttles some love too [Screenshot]

I recently found this shuttle and thought it's pretty cool looking. Normally I won't look twice at shuttles but this one caught my eye. With 7 trails and a sleek design, I couldn't just leave it. The ship has a white cockpit with the rest being very light blue. Just wish we could at least paint them.

Can you re-collect the starborn phoenix? [Question]

I got the Starborn Phoenix ship during the limited time event, but I haven't actually been playing the game since then until now. Does it work just like expedition rewards where you can claim it once for free in a save, and then pay nanites to get it in subsequent saves, or can you only get it once, in one save?

What is this thing on my freighter? [Question]

What is this thing on my freighter? I’m assuming it is something to do with exocraft but I can’t seem to interact with it.

I feel certain the first time I saw it one of the little squares popped up. But nothing happened, I thought this was because I didn’t have any exocraft at the time. I might be misremembering though.

Anyway I now have the Nauticon but still nothing. Not even a little square.

What am I doing wrong?

That said, I’m quite confused by exocraft. Do I take them with me when I leave a planet? Do I have to build a little landing base each time I want to use one?

Emergency Signal Scanner + Void Egg = Black Screen? [Discussion]

Was attempting to farm derelicts for 250ly mods last night and ran into a near fatal black screen. Will detail line of events here to help other travelers avoid such unpleasantries.

First grabbed an emergency signal scanner and void egg from the anomaly. Had both in exosuit inventory. Activated the scanner, put the scanner in personal refiner, headed out to space, pulsed, landed on and farmed the derelict freighter, put the scanner back in exosuit inventory and left the derelict, pulsed towards the space station to offload loot.

There is where it got wonky. The void egg started doing its thing due to the pulse. Landed on the space station - black screen. All saves black screens on reload. Lucky i found another thread detailing quitting the nms app and then hard restarting my xbox. Fixed the black screen, save saved.

What do yall think? Having two items in inventory triggered by the same event bricked my save? Derelicts are inherently buggy? Popular 250ly farm system bricked it? Playing on xbox with no xbox live but active internet for discoveries.

holodoor troubles [Question]

hello! i'm working on my base and having some issues with holodoors. The first image is a holodoor attached to a t-shaped corridor, the second image is one attached to the square room prefabs. There is not a spot to wire the holodoor that i can see, and the attached corridor is powered (as is the square room--removing the corridor also cuts power from the square room). do holodoors not work on corridors? or am i making some other silly mistake?

Update on my SG-1 SGC build. You all inspired me to stick with it, so here's some highlights from the finished base! [Screenshot]

Thank you for all the love and support, I really don't think I would've gone back to finish and polish it up if not for y'all.

Unfortunately, I hit the subs video limit for the week (DOH!) so here are some screenshots from my finished build. I posted the new video over on r/Stargate last night if you really want to see it.

Main updates:

Added an F-302 bay.

Added a big red button next to the dialing computer that starts flashing red lights in the embarkation room. So you can now dial the gate, close the blast shield and go to red alert all from the dialup room.

The lower left (if facing the gate) side corridor is finished, including the base elevator. That non-functional elevator, down the stairs from the dialup room, actually leads to the teleporter. Effectively making it another "exit" for the base.

This also makes it kinda neat to warp into the base, because you feel like you're stepping off the elevator we see them using in the show.

I was FINALLY able to get the back gate wall and robot arms the way I wanted... It seems to be a trade off between seeing only the main outer gate ring, which looks almost exactly like the show, but the downside being that the puddle doesn't extend all the way to the edge of that ring...

Ooor you get the little moving half circles inside the big main ring that don't really look like they are from the show, but the puddle does extend to those moving half circles...

At some point the nip nip kicked in and I just said "fug it, looks good enough for me!" Also, it is fully functional, you will go through the gate to the address you dialed even with the wall being there.

Also, please note before posting an angry comment about not building bases on portals... I don't upload my portal bases, and I only...

I just want to say that this sub is the best in my feed 7 out of 7 days. When I get stuck in a doomscroll, sometimes the only thing that resets my brain is yall. A post of a newcomer asking for help, a vet showing their immaculate artistry, the random moments, the kindness and support, the "how do I get this ship?" The day after an exp. ends, it all just warms my soul and settles the rush of anxiety and the clamor in my head.

So thank you to this community and HG for creating was is the most earnest and welcoming community I've found on reddit!

It's been a while [Question]

So long story short, I haven't played in a couple years now and I feel somewhat lost. I'm about three days into playing again and I am really enjoying things. I have some questions though, which I'll outline below.

Is it my imagination or weren't there different storage containers for minerals, gas, etc?

Were there not more options for base creation, like computers, boxes, etc?

How do I link my storage containers with my inventory/starship/freighter? I seem to remember creating connections between containers and mining equipment, and in turn my accessible inventory?

Is there a way to "fast travel" from one planet, while flying in space, to another, without it taking a literal 10-20 minutes?

Any tips or tricks you feel I could benefit are both welcome and appreciated.

No shrimp helmet love for me [Question]

Alright Travelers, what is this Interloper doing wrong because I CANT UNLOCK THE SHRIMP HELMET!!! OMG why is my life so hard? Lol Here is what I have done so far: Caught all of the fish. Harvester Unit Not Working [Question]

I found a planet with a bunch of exotic Strider species and I thought I'd get some Tall Eggs to help me explore Water Worlds with but they're not dropping anything into the Harvester. Any ideas? Freighter battles... [Discussion]

I swear, I get into a battle where my gut tells me it's an A class. Not bad, but I'd rather take the money since I have a freighter so why not? Why not do the battle.

The way the NMS handles missions is so stupid - rant [Discussion]

I wish HG changed/updated the way how station mission are handled. I've been playing the story again (permadeath). There is the delay - it's horrible. Why does the game suck so much when it comes to status update? Sometimes it takes a minute before you get the relevant info. No matter if yor're online or offline, it takes ages. The system can be so confusing!
Also I wish there was an option to set a default mission/story part. The game sucks when it comes to mission handling, big time.
I wish HG would concentrate more on the game improvements rathrer than adding more stuff. It's like they care more about getting new players and don't care much about those who have been with them for a long time. I'm seeing the same stupid design again and again.
I love the game but that does not mean I love everything aobut it. And yes, I posted issues on HG zen desk. Many.

I didn't get a good recording because I was so flabbergasted. This is not a crtraveller's.

I Made a friend from an anomaly mission. After the mission, I boarded my ship and the anomaly asked if I wanted to follow him to the system where he is. I don't usually do this but figured, why not?

Well... it got weird. I like to go to all the planets and name them all and name the system if I am the first one there. I finished doing this and some new guy (not the one I followed) shows up. He teleports (I've seen players do this, must be a PC thing?) On my ship as I'm fishing. I wave hello. He says nothing. I gift him some stuff (nothing fancy, some fish I caught, an S class module for the boltcaster). Still nothing. His arms are flailing very weirdly (VR player?).

Then he does something with a forcefield and my health almost goes to 0. I jump in the water, he follows, and I find a new spot for my ship to land and blast off.

His name was Egailo. I blocked him.

I thought pvp meant we can trade. I didn't know we could harm each other. I guess this is griefing?

Last time I follow anyone out of the anomaly. Uncool. Very uncool. All my other interactions have been some of the best videogame experiences ever... so this hasn't ruined anything. Only... I'm not following strangers anymore.

Can someone please help me understand frigate classes and expeditions? [Question]

I'm sorry if this is a frequent question, but from everything I read, I still can't quite wrap my mind around frigate expeditions and frigate classes and how they are useful or not.

  1. Are combat frigates useful in expeditions? All I see are trade, industrial, exploration and balanced expeditions - no combat expeditions. If I attach a combat frigate to any of those, will it help other ships to avoid critical damage and abort their missions? Or do they purely exist to help you in player's space combat (do they really help in space combat or they are as useful as squadrons)?

  2. What do support ships do? When I attach a support ship to an expedition, it seemingly does nothing, it doesn't add or reduce fuel consumption, but also doesn't add expedition rating.

  3. What on earth are balanced expeditions? Do I use all types of ships at once and spend tonnes of fuel to try to hit every class of frigates on a 1-star balanced expedition, or do I pick 1-2 random ships, or do I use support ships?

  4. How do I get 4 and 5-star expeditions? I've sent dozens of these expeditions, and my usual daily list of expeditions is 2-3 one-star, 1-2 two-star, 1 three-star, and never saw a four or five-star (I assume, they exist and give good rewards)

Thank you to any kind soul who answers one or more of these questions, I like this whole fleet stuff but I'm really confused

Hello! I've been posting alot recently, but I just built a little hotel basically in space! It is located in the Eissentam Galaxy, in a system with three economy stars!

Picture explanations:

1st: Just a picture of the building itself.

2nd: When you fly up all the way, it fades to black and your character starts swimming, and you get teleported to your ship.

3rd: If you fly all the way up, and get teleported back, it says that you re-enter the atmosphere.

Theres also the maximum (9) amount of landing pads.

unable to progress quest beacuse of terrain bug [Bug]

first of all apologies for the poor English im not a native speaker. So I'm a new player into the game (came to play after the community rescue of a player who was stranded on a planet without fuel and on a permadeath save) I've been playing for roughly 15 hours doing the main quest and some side ones with a friend. Today I was progressing in the "A leap in the dark" quest. After activating the 3 monoliths, the game directed me to a portal but when i got there this was what I found. I tried breaking the surrounding areas trying to find somewhere i could go but I had no luck. one of my friends who is a long time player tried to help me but he also couldn't do much since we cannot get near the activator nor we can see the prompt to interact. I don't feel like restarting my save but I don't know what else could I do :(

I like building things in this game. I’ve built houses, huts, outposts, resource farms, I’ve dabbled in doors and wiring, and I’ve fitted out my freighter…

But fuck me has the building system fought me every time. I’ve given up on this one for now.

Distressed Sentinel Interceptor Mission - Stuck [Bug]

I am at the part of the mission where you have to get the cargo pods at the crashed freighter. The problem is that one of the cargo pods spawned below a indestructible terrain. I read that there is a glitch where if you dig down and are right above the pod, then bury yourself with the terrain manipulator, you can pass through the surface.

The issue I have is that indestructible terrain is at the surface, so I can't dig down. I tried creating a mound above it and then dig down, but I can't seem to get the glitch to work for me. Am I screwed? Are there any other work arounds?

And how rare is this mission? Like if I abandon the mission, am I likely to get it again?

(Playing on PS5 if that matters)

I created a timeline of every update and expedition [Information]

I was wondering if there was a way to visualize Hello Games' release schedule, so I spent half my day digging up release dates and expedition start / end dates and writing some JavaScript code to render a nice timeline. Releases are listed above and expeditions are listed below. Expedition reduxes have "#2" appended to their names. It took a while to figure out how to label the expeditions in a way that didn't result in ugly overlapping text or a rat's nest of lines. I didn't use any visualization libraries; those curvy expedition callouts are custom code.

Is the game dying? [Question]

Why, when looking at online player counts, at least on Steam, do they rarely exceed 5,000? Twitch also has very few viewers, which leads me to wonder: if the game is so good and has so many features, why does it have so few players and views?

Managed to move a base computer inside a settlement [Question]

I was mucking about thinking of building a base adjacent to the settlement my character is currently looking after - when I wondered if I could move the computer nearer the settlement.

To my surprise I could - the base computer is close by the overseer's office - and with the base computer present I can build things inside the settlement?

Is this how it's supposed to work - or have I found a bug or glitch in the game?

First frigate [Discussion]

Ok now at the point in the game where getting my first frigate is looking like a good move. Picked up a few junkers and need somewhere to fix them up before scrapping and like the idea of a permanent base in space. So what type is best (pirate/living/etc) obviously would like an s class but not that fussed about upgrading each time, and what’s the best way to configure it. Planet and Fauna rarity [Question]

I'm relatively new to the game, I just started playing within the last couple of months (a little over 100 hrs). I have watched some videos so I'm aware of some of the more rarer things in the game, but I came across something I thought was pretty rare. So, I was wondering if I should share the glyphs for the planet, it's a hexagonal planet with synthetic fauna. Is that considered rare? If so, I'll make a post on the appropriate sub for it's address.

Welp my peeps............. [Build]

Searched all outlaw stations for the last couple of weeks. And bought 50 of each X mods for everything. Praying the RNG gods won't laugh me out of this universe.

Went into settings and put all difficulty/damage settings to maximum.. Now the hunt is on for a 2x2 high base stat fighter.

Big fan of the viper from Battlestar Galactica, gonna take forever to find that one station that'll let me make one in either a 2x2 or L SC. All connected.

To Rename or Not To Rename? That is the Question.. [Discussion]

Do you rename things you find ingame? Mainly thinking about minerals, fauna, flora, and planets/systems some too. I generally don't other than I often will tag my name on at the end of the planet's name, while keeping the original (A.I. generated) name essentially intact, but haven't touched rocks or plants or creatures.

Kinda was curious cause I haven't usually run across many others doing any of that as well - seems most usually allow just the fact that it shows they discovered the system/planet to be enough. But today I went to a planet because my egg wanted me to, and I found all these rocks renamed, things like 'Smack Me' & 'Normal Rocks' & Flying Pot

No Man's Sky return to an uninhabited system [Question]

I'm fairly new to No Man's Sky and I stumbled upon a system in a red galaxy that I want to go back to. I can't find it on the Galaxy map, but I did mark it on the Discovery's tab as a waypoint. It is uninhabited, so no space station. Any ideas. I was too new to know how I got there. I probably upgraded the hyperdrive too soon so I could get to the red system, and there might have been a blackhole involved. I don't remember though. Thanks for the help.

Haven't played in years. Now I'm confused. [Discussion]

Basically the title. I played NMS way back when the first expeditions happened (I remember getting the Normandy), and I remember being utterly confused back then...when it came to story progression. I know NMS is an open world, do whatever you want kind of game, but I would like to finish all the main quest lines before going off and doing all the cool sandbox-y stuff. So...which story lines do I follow, and which ones should I consider "side quests"?

Building Stasis/Igniter Farm [Build]

Im currently 45 hours into my permadeath save and I've outgrown farming sentinel ships. Im building a 50 stasis device and 50 igniter farm. I've already got experience setting up a 20/20 farm on my main save. This is just a step up from that. Setting up the mineral and gas extractors is easy. Now I've just got to do the math for the biodomes. The biggest hassle is the limited stack size, so I'm trying to reduce the amount of refining I have to do. It can't be avoided completely. Should I come back? [Question]

I haven’t played the game in over a year. Mainly on ps4. I have over 500 hours, and feel like I’ve done pretty much everything you can do besides alot of the expeditions. Is there anything new I can expect or look forward to if I do decide to come back to it? When I was playing more regularly I loved it. I have a couple original ships from the 2016-2018 builds and an S-Class freighter.

Roleplaying as a community ? [Question]

Hi would anyone want to be part of my empire I'm thinking in a way it would be funner to treat this game like life but better than the real and wonder if anyone else would not only like to join but also overall have fun with people. My ultimate goal is to have fun and if we get noticed by our progress and such we might have one hell of a time 😊 so I have had a hard time finding people to play and build community within the game .. most times they join for not even a day then ghost me which is ok I'm not for everyone and sometimes vibes while in game just seem awkward for the most part because I'm assuming it is my voice at this point because I'm very gay lol but chill about it..... ( Must be 18 or older I don't play games with anyone younger because I can't handle kids ( I would say hate but I will admit not all kids aren't bad .but most of them are to much energy and don't listen to save a life) . Can the positron compete with the infra-knife? [Question]

Can the damage of the positron come anywhere close to the infraknife? I want to use positron primarily, and infraknife as I'm closing distance (so rarely) but the stats make me think its pointless.

With 3 supercharged S rank modules on the positron, it only reaches 12.7k dps. The infraknife has 3 S rank upgrades NOT supercharged, and is reaching 15.6k dps. When I reverse it, supercharging infraknife gets to 36.1k dps, and uncharged positron goes down to 4.7k dps.

Perpetual energy machine: The Terrain Manipulator. [Information]

Maybe I'm late, maybe I should have searched but I just wanted to note: Unless I'm wrong, the Terrain Manipulator gathers more energy than it puts out.

100% charge is 160 silicate powder. At medium radius, mining the ground will gain you that in about 25% charge. Meaning a full run with the thing will gain you 3x what you put in.

Find that to be odd, but very useful indeed. This of course breaks physics as we know it, but then we're pretty much breaking those laws left and right in this game anyway so what's one more? :)

I was exploring, then I found an icy planet, when I went down I found 12 balls of uncontrollable MOLD, I collected them but I realized that when I moved only about 10 steps away they respawned again at 12, in a matter of 20 seconds... and this happened again and again, I've been collecting for half an hour and I already have more than 140 thousand balls of uncontrollable MOLD

Is this some bug? Or some error in the game?

I'm just thinking about refining soon to get a ton of nanites, but I'm not going to leave the planet for now, I'm afraid of going out and if it's a bug, it will stop working

So i found this crashed ship but didnt repair it and instead just claimed it. I did this because i saw online that you don't need to repair a ship in order to scrap it. Just go to the anomoly and request the damaged ship they said. Well i tried this and it said that i couldnt request this ship cuz its damaged. Now im far from where i found the ship. Is there any way to still get it and scrap it?

Spac//tation [Discussion]

So i just got this game and ive been role playing as captain curt jumoing into randon systems and putting what i find into a captains log with chat gpt. Superfun but anyway. I jumped into a randon gek system and noticed the space station was called spac//tation. I went abord and there nothing but a teleported, a ship fabricator, exosuit upgrade station and microtool upgradestation that work with no cost to upgrade your gear to max. And a broken galactic trade hub with ultra low prices. Anyone else found this?

My Flea(t) of almost every Flea color [Screenshot]

About 300 hours into the game and I came across my first minimal Flea organically. (the green one.) I started working on beefing it up and it quickly became my favorite in-game ship.

I have collected a bare bones, narrow Flea in every color but purple. I have been to a few coordinates I found on the Coordinate exchange but each one was black and not purple. (Maybe an update removed/changed the color?) Any help would be appreciated.

How often do y'all submit suggestions to HG? [Question]

Obviously, reporting bugs and glitches is one thing. Sometimes I submit a ticket and other times, if I see it's affecting many players I just kind of assume they're getting tons of submissions so I leave it alone, like the current NPC icon sticking to our ships.

I'm definitely guilty of wishing HG would add or improve something, sometimes I even complain about it, but I don't take the one simple action I have available of going to their Zendesk.

I'm going to try to do it more often, at least for simple quality of life improvements. Here was my recent suggestion. Thank me later if it's implemented. 😉

"Perhaps something such as a 3 digit number to reference the galaxy of a screenshot.

(E.g. 001 for Euclid) This could be following the glyph address or even in the opposite, lower right corner.

I and many other players obviously cannot document everything. We take a lot of screenshots in our travels and it could be days, weeks, months, or years later that we share them. I can't tell you how many times I've posted something and had another player ask me which galaxy. The further my exploration takes me, the harder it is to make a good guess for a lot of them.

As far as I know, adding something as a Wonder is the only in-game way to document the glyphs and galaxy and there isn't nearly enough available slots.

Can't "find" child of Helios to get living water [Question]

Recently died and rebuilding my inventory

I'm stuck in some weird glitch where only living ship anomalies appear (grabbing a new ship) when pulse driving. No other anomaly's when using anomaly scanners, only strictly living ship hosts etc.

I've tried a whole hour, just ask watching if one would appear, but alas nothing.

I am also missing the "impossible membrane" which could be the factor, but it's the situation where I need to get 150 living water.

And for some reason it just won't spawn a damn child of Helios no matter what.

Could anyone possibly donate 150 living water or just guide me /educate me on the actual process, because I did it like a month ago and I had so many of the Helios anomalies popping up back to back. Don't know what's wrong now.

Does anyone else think the frequency of storms is a bit much? [Question]

Okay. I get that a lot of planets should be stormy, but what's the deal with even lush planets getting storms constantly? If they're going to happen they should last longer, but have much more time between them.

It would also look much nicer if the clouds started rolling in and getting dark for a longer amount of time before it started storming. I just feel like it feels so unnatural all the time.

Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure I'm trapped on a planet full of water. [Question]

Well, in January I bought the game again to give it a second chance, this time playing on a PS5 and all that paraphernalia.

I started a game from scratch, as expected; I had one of the worst possible starts, constantly dying and not being able to leave the first planet, in the end, I managed to get out of it; without knowing what was waiting for me.

When I left the first planet I expected the others to be no worse, how naive, the 3 nearby plants were almost the same, except for one; this one was full of water with almost no islands.

On the "island" I landed on (fun fact, this should have been the second planet I should have visited according to the tutorial) there is nothing, I have no fuel or materials to do it, even though the planet has changed after the update, I'm still in the same situation.

Any tips on how to move forward? Or do I have to start from scratch?

P.S.: Sorry if there are any grammatical or spelling errors, I'm using a translator.

Continuing on from my last post where I first started the game, I've now played it some, so I will briefly go over what has happened to me so far. I spawned on a frozen hellhole; I don't know how I was able to escape alive, but thankfully I did. For the time being, I'm currently stuck in this system until I can create my warp drive system. However, while exploring the system further, I discovered I was, in fact, on a frozen moon, not a planet. The parent planet was a toxic wasteland with little valuable resources but hosted a second moon that was a paradise and was full of valuable loot. For now, I have set up base on this paradise moon and am currently siphoning whatever resources I can in order to prepare for interstellar travel. I will keep you all updated on my journey and anything of significance I may find.
