How important are ship stats? [Question]

I'm really liking the look of some of the living ships I've seen posted and planning to pursue this path. I've read though that their stats are not very good however.

Is there a real need for really high stats in this game or is it more overkill? I only play pve and so far have handled most situations just fine in my minimally upgraded starter ship.

Livestock unit still doesn’t work 2025 [Bug]

As the title suggests, I spent my entire evening yesterday trying to get the livestock unit to harvest milk. I’ve tried every solution in the internet. They simply don’t work at all anymore. Has anyone found a fix that works? I spent about 400 creature pellets and got absolutely nothing.

I’ve tried relocating it. I’ve tried natural ground, I’ve tried on top of a floor, I’ve tried placing it far away, I’ve tried leveling ground, I’ve tried putting it close to the feeder… nothing works. Nothing. It will not harvest. What’s wrong? 😑

What are the best supercharged slot layouts? [Question]

I'm trying to get myself a very nice fabricated solar ship from a space station with a good supercharged slot layout. In my opinion, this is one of the worst possible grinds in the game, since the fabricator is kind of... annoying to use, plus there's so many possible combinations of parts.

What I'm looking for is the coveted 2x2 Supercharged Slot combo, but I haven't managed to find it anywhere. I only managed to find one system where the supercharged slots were all touching, but they were in the L shape. Plus, I didn't really like the cockpit that shape required, so I let it go. However, given the sheer size of the NMS universe, I realize that I could be looking for an amazing supercharged slot layout for the rest of my life and still fail to find one, especially if I don't want to use some cockpits and such.

So, I decided I'm fine with having a... less optimal supercharged slot layout, so long as it's still good. What layouts do you consider almost as good as 2x2? Do you know of any layout that is even better than 2x2? I found a few 3+1 layouts (this seems to be weirdly common), and I marked one down in case I want to return for it later. Currently, I'm sitting on a space station which produces a ship that has... I guess you could say checkered supercharged slot layout. Like this:

SC – __ – SC – __
__ – SC – __ – SC

Would this layout still be good? The SC slots aren't actually touching, so that might be a problem. But I like the way the particular combo of parts that produces this ship looks.

The reason I want a great layout is because I like to optimize my ships for speed. IMO, weapons don't need to be supercharged at all. Infra-Knife shreds everything even without any SC slots. Hyperdrive and especially launch thrusters really don't need it. But having a fast ship is super fun and just convenient. It cuts down on travel time...

Big Base Experiment [Screenshot]

Just sharing a work in progress. I wanted to build a base on a settlement to give it a bit more life but then discovered that the one I picked was right at the border of 2 regions so I've set up another base next door and they overlap. The overlap is a bit weird because if I build on some spots then the base I'm editing depends on which direction I approach it from.

Anyway, I'm still finishing off the settlement construction so there's some gaps while I wait to see what that fills in but I've already added upper floors to some settlement buildings where I can. Anyway, this is the settlement/lower city base in the foreground and all the way to join with a production facility on the far right. The upper city base on the cliff stretches back to the radio mast in the distance.

I think I'm a long way off the build limit with this based on other bases I've built so it has a lot of potential.

Planet Glyphs never lead me to actual planet. [Question]

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but whenever I use a portal address from the Glyph Exchange website, I never go to the intended planet. Am I missing something? I've tried turning on/off multiplayer and the result doesn't change.

Haven't played in about a week (I'm australian, the cyclone took out all power in my areaa) and now the insides of my Freighter are completely messed up? [Question]

A lot of the chambers in the construction area are messed up, when I used the portal room it was cut off from anywhere else and when I built corridors in an effort to link it up I ran into this. No matter what I do I can't remove this barrier to connect the construction area to the control room and a lot of the rooms I built are just gone entirely. Help?

No Man’s Sky Freighter Build Tour - The Ultima” [Build Video]

Hey guys, I’ve finally decided to share a look at my freighter. This is a long video, so I had to share it from YouTube. I remember when I first discovered the No Man’s Sky had an actual YouTube community, I was astonished.

The first couple years, I played completely in the dark, disconnected from anyone that was into the game. I didn’t think anyone was really into the game after its abysmal launch. But then I discovered guys like Beedlebum, Xxioi Games (RIP 🙏🏼), and Xaine’s World, and I realized that the game had a cult following. I watched a bunch of freighter builds videos and felt inspired to do something ambitious myself.

People were sharing info with each other, helping newer or inexperienced players figure out the game and make the most of it. Eventually, I found this sub (because I wasn’t on Reddit either) and felt like I found my people.

I put this place together from a combination of original and borrow ideas. Hope you enjoy it!

Is Save Game deletion broken? [Bug]

I'm sure I used to be able to right-click a save game and be able to have the option to delete a save. I tried to do this today and it just takes me back to the Main Menu.

Is this a known bug?

In Stellar Multitudes problem [Question]

I completed all the steps up to finding my new Purple star, Fujiid, which it says is in "another" galaxy, but there are no clues to find. Also, I installed Atlantid Drive, but it has "?" on it, and won't allow me to get to Purple Star at center of Euclid Galaxy. Please help.

How do you pick names for stuff in this game? Or do you not rename anything at all? [Question]

I'm just curious about how you guys pick names for your ships, bases, settlements, planets etc.

For my ships, I like to try to pick names that sound good to me, but also sound "lore-friendly" (ie: they sound like they could have been randomly generated). Except my freighter, which is a pirate dreadnought called Adamant's Revenge, named after the Queen Anne's Revenge.

My bases, I usually either leave the name as-is, or give it some boring descriptive name like "Pyrite base" lol. I do have a few bases with unique names, though - my favourite one is "Gentle Landing" which is the base I made on the spot where I first arrived after reaching a new galaxy. It was a lovely, lush planet on a spot with a very beautiful view, so I considered it... well, a gentle landing, lol.

My settlement is primarily populated with Korvax, so I decided to try translating the name. It means "Future Hope" in Korvax. Or at least I hope it does, lol.

So tell me how you guys pick your names for stuff (if you do) and what your favourite names are!

Thoughts on glitch building for resources? [Discussion]

Greetings Traveller's! Been playing NMS for almost 2 years now on Xbox and I love it like all of us and like many I keep coming back for more. Similar to what I have no doubt would be many I have done all of NMS 100% honestly when I first started (e.g., did not utilize any glitches for anything) across a few saves and completed Permadeath mode as well.

What are your thoughts on using glitch building techniques for resource harvesting (e.g., extractors, supply depots, generators, solar panels, batteries and medium refiners)?

Many times I just feel like I am cheating but at the same time HG has not patched it either. My rationale is that I have completed the game several times (that is, the things to go and do for progression) and that other new saves just wind up meaning even more grinding for the things that I have done previously a few times.

The same can be said for the portable refiner duplication glitch of almost anything.

Really curious what you all think my fellow Traveller's!

200 hours later [Screenshot]

Hi guys, just wanted to share some of my journey so far. I bought NMS when it first launched in 2016(?), Loved it, but it was mostly a mining game and I dropped out. Couple years later I tryed it again, but to no avail. Last year I when for another shot and wow, Its impressive how far the developers were able to transport us from that v1.0 to Worlds 2.

Now as the title says, I've been 200+ hours in, and finally found the so desired S Dreadnought, the perfect (imo) interceptor, and got to see a Squid for the first time.

Why do I get the feeling that this was just the game's tutorial?!

Just by searching for basebuilding here it feels that most you guys are in another league, congrats on that! If you like these, I'll be happy to share more pics with you from now on!

Save mode(s)? [Question]

I bought NMS in 2019, and my first save is still there and shows a total play time of 31 minutes..

Tried again getting in the game in 2021 and the save shows a total play time of 59 minutes.

This year finally I got into the game, and after just over 10 hours in creative mode, to understand the game mechanics, I have now over 157 hours in normal mode, and even started a survival mode save.

So far I liked the game, even if repetition is getting to me a bit and found the main arcs quite underwhelming and boring, I'm enjoying the sandbox elements of the game, exploration and such.

I'm currently farming crashed ships for parts in order to craft myself the best looking ship for each craftable type. I literally have an spreadsheet file with timers to farm crash site locations as they respawn, keeping tabs on which individual parts each ship is made of.

Today I started looking into exotic ships and bought my 1st one after sitting on a tradepost and reloading enought times to map all 20 ships and finally an exotic Royal Type-7, S-Class.

Then I thought: since I already have a list of all craftable ship I may find in the system, let me find out what parts are they made of so I decide if it's worth looking for crashed ships in this system. My idea was to save the game, buy each craftable ship that shows up in the station, disassemble it for parts and write them down, reload my original save.

Here is when I found out how bad the save system is. There is basically no real manual save, as saving the game through a save beacon gets overwritten by the autosave each time you exit a ship.

This is literally the only thing so far that I find really annoying: having no control over your saves.

Is there any workaround to this?

I found these Land-Fish that swim underground and jump up into the air. The icon shows that they are tamable, but even when I get lucky and catch one in the air, there is no interact button. How do I tame these?

Portable refiner [Question]

I am a new player and have lost my portable refiner I made. Is there a way to track that tricky refiner down? I could have sworn I saw a screen tip saying there was a way to do it. I want like a 10 digit grid to know of locations I have placed things.

What's the point in more than one socket? [Question]

Hi all, I'm new to the game and absolutely hooked on it at the moment.

But I have a question, when union batteries to store electricity, I have plugged all my wires from the solar panels into the same socket on the battery, however there's another 3 sockets unused. Is there any benefit in using more than one socket?

I currently have my base teleporter, and two solar panels connected to the same socket.

Can some give me someDogfight tips? [Question]

I mean I understand what to do. I played a normal run for about 300 hours and it was pretty easy. But in survival it seems if I lose them for a half second they have full shields. I mean I have maybe 100 hours in survival a d was able to farm a A class sentinel ship. So perfect but pretty good.

And how are those ships able to fly past me, flip 180 and come right back at me. Is there something I am missing there? I play pc but fly with xbox controller.

Nutrient Processors and Refiners [Question]

I am not able to access any ingredients via the input boxes if they are in the nutrient processor ingredient storage on my capital ship. Am I doing something wrong here? My crappy slipshod base on the planet below has a nutrient processor that shows the ingredients that are held in the ingredient storage as expected. Did HG bork it or is it just me?

The same thing is happening with regard to the refiners on my capital ship. They can only see my starship or exosuit inventory and none of the freighter or storage inventory. Wondering if I have something goofy going on in my save.

It seems to be easy for blueprints to access any and all storage to craft things for my planetary bases so I kinda expect the other similar features to behave similarly.

Can someone help this n00b out with some 411?

Is there another way to get these ships? [Question]

I play the game on Creative mode as im not good at the base game, but enjoy exploring and traveling. Is there a way for a noob like me to get my hands on any of these ships without playing Expeditions? Belive me i have tried and from having 2 kids so lack of time and just not being good at surviving its hard for me to do good in expeditions. Can i travel to certain galaxies and wait for any of these to land?

Finding purple star systems [Screenshot]

Posting this in case anyone else is having trouble. TLDR: Make sure you finish the "Stellar Multitudes" quest after getting to your first system, which involves summoning the Anomaly, doing a lot of talking to Nada and Polo, and building a few items with the new elements available.

I've done the quests to override the atlas and was teleported to the first purple star with a gas giant, and created the Atlantid drive for both my starship and freighter. I created a couple of bases for the Quartzite, Activated Quartzite, and Crystalized Helium, so I know I could access them. I could warp into and out of that system with my bases and the gas giant no problem. The star looked like a white dwarf though on the galaxy map, but showed as type Y. I read type X and Y should be 'purple' systems with the gas giants and new elements. I tried the 'Tritanopia' galaxy color setting under accessibility as some people recommended, but that star still showed white and I didn't see any real purple ones.

I looked at hundreds of systems in the galaxy map and couldn't find any more that were type X or Y. Then I found a 'Stellar Multitudes' quest I had on a second page of my quest log. I was up late building those bases and teleport stations to make sure I could get back and get some new elements and then went to bed. The next time I played I went exploring and doing some other quests and didn't realize I had that mission. I had to summon the space anomaly and talk to Nada and Polo several times, build a few things, and interact with the terminal in the anomaly to anchor the system and anomaly.

After finishing that quest other stars appeared and I could tell the purple ones. The first star I went to now looked purple instead of white as well. I think the game might even change the color palette after completing the mission.

Fixed bugs? [Question]

Does anyone know if there has been a patch to fix the bug for expedition 17 where it auto completed the 3rd, 4th and 5th rendezvous points?? I’d love to finish it and I was almost done with it all. Don’t have much time during the days anymore to restart it all over again. Thanks!

Disclaimer: I’m playing on Relaxed, not normal or hardcore NMS. I don’t want creative because it’s too easy but I really enjoy survival games that have an easy mode.

So I stumbled upon a settlement that produces GekNip and wiring. I made it a joke to myself “well if I’m going to produce Geknip I need a source of NipNip.” As I built my grow house close by I decided to set out and try to make the largest Nip-Nip farm in No Man’s Sky. I have no idea what the record is but I’m planning to grow the farm until I hit some sort of build limit. Wish me luck! I’ll make occasional update posts as I go along.

Update: Found My Friend’s Planet [Discussion]

A few days ago, I asked for help finding a planet discovered by another player.

This all started when I returned to the game and remembered my friend, who sadly passed away in 2021 used to play nms. This year marks 10 years since I first met him. I wanted to find at least one planet he had discovered so I could set up a base and commemorate him in some way.

I was advised to reach out to Hello Games, but unfortunately, that didn’t lead anywhere. However, I managed to find someone who played with him back then and still had their old save. A few hours later, they sent me the coordinates to a planet he had named after himself.

Now, I’ve set up a base there and plan to make it my main HQ. It feels like a fitting way to keep a piece of him in the game we both enjoyed. Huge thanks to everyone who helped—this community is truly amazing. Some people asked for an update, so here it is.

I’m brings me happiness knowing, Dan Morz will be seen by others than just his friends in some light.

Looking for an Arachnid cockpit [Question]

Hey all, I've been looking for an arachnid cockpit for my solar ship and I've spent days looking for one to buy or salvage to no avail.

Im hoping to get some information on which systems would be good to search.

I know to look in pirate systems but I'm still not getting anywhere with my search and juts want some advise or even a quick way to find one I would greatly appreciate any help at all.

If anyone would want to do in game trade I'll let you know now I'm on (xbox) so that would be the only limitation.

I am a gun enthusiast, but where I live is really strict about it. Only the police (they are evil) and the military (they too) can have them. While criminal threats are more often directed at civilians. I always hope to become an arm dealer to help many people protect themselves. Or at least I protect myself first

Chose Calypso with The Wraith… help [Question]

I finished the main quest line for the first time. Problem is, I reset the simulation with the wraith as my ship and I now need walker brains to leave the irradiated planet I’m on.. PC Cloud Game Save Gone [Bug]

I was just playing last night on my legion go no problem. Launched it up today and was fine at first but while loading in to my save my pc crashed and now when I reload the game it’s acting like I have no prior saves. I read a couple possible solutions including deleting local save data, but I tried resetting the app and the Xbox app on the PC but nothing has worked, even tried loading it up on another PC. Appreciate any help, I know this is a problem that’s happened before I’ve ready a couple threads but honestly confusing myself, seems the crash just destroyed my save and now there is no record of it I can find.

Bought a brand new PS4 with VR and got NMS when I heard cross save and VR was supported because I was excited to see in VR the planet I made on my switch for my old dog when he passed... Fishing bug [Bug]

I got the helmet, lure, and title, for catching 250 fish. Then my game crashed while teleporting. It still says I have the title, but the helmet and lure are locked (and the grun was my favorite lure 😞). Is there a way to fix this?

What is your favorite planet type? [Discussion]

I'll start, barren worlds. For some reason, I think barren worlds are quite gorgeous. I like the wide open rocky and sandy terrain. I also like the wind noise on these planets too. It is pretty cool to see cold and heat hazards on the same planet.

My first attempt at recreating the Samus power suit from Metroid Fusion [Screenshot]

My favourite Metroid game has always been Metroid Fusion so I thought it might be some fun to try to recreate the power suit. What is the common courtesy for looting uhh I mean visiting other’s bases? [Question]

New player playing through the titan expedition here, I’ve been making use of the various bases all over planets as temporary shelters and hubs to explore from. But recently I came across one with dozens of activated copper storages, and is kinda tempted to take some for myself so I won’t have to worry about chromatic metals for the rest of the expedition. Is it ok to take some stuff from other players’ bases, and how to go about it?

Shared Wonder Projector [Question]

What if wonder projectors had a setting that allowed other players to add their wonders to it and put them on display? I think it would be neat to be able to share wonders with another person. Come across someone else's projector and leave a piece of your journey with them, or start a shared library or museum with a friend.

PS4, 5.58: Wife's save file corrupted. She's lost every expedition reward she had. [Question]

She'd been playing another game and decided to start Titan. When she started the expedition, she had to reset all her settings. She went to the anomaly to grab the Starborn Runner and none of her expedition rewards show as available.

She had Leviathan, Polestar, Utopia, Omega, Liquidator, Aquarius, and Cursed. Is there any way to repair this or is she sol?

Could having had it in rest mode during a weird power problem have caused this? Power flashed on/off for about 15 minutes during an ice storm.

Stasis Device/Fusion Ignitor Redundancy [Information]

So I just spent the last three days converting my Living Glass Farm into a Stasis Device farm...to celebrate I thought il bake some more Questionably Sweet Cakes and go mining at my Runaway Mould Farms so that I could go buy myself some upgrades for my Starships. Well! Instead of using milk I accidentally used proto-milk (which I discovered was wrong almost instantly when it made proto-cream) but I thought to myself, 'eh, itl probably make the same cake anyway like most of the alternate recipes' ...boy was I wrong. I unlocked a new recipe for Most Curious Cake which gives a STACKED buff of +6469% Fauna Analysis for 10minutes when consumed from your nutrient ingestor. With a maxed out scanner I was scanning higher value fauna at 30,000,000 units, far exceeding the value and effort of my Stasis Device farm, not to mention far less confusing to make the cake than it is find and refine all the resources to make a stasis device farm in the first place.

Ah... help! Game won't run [Bug]

Hey Travellers! I just enabled a voice mod through Vortex, ran the game an a virus threat popped up (never been a problem before today, though I've had the mod disabled). Tried running the game direct from the .exe file, and had this come up "An error occurred while launching this game : Disk write error - C:/Program Files(x86)Steam/Steamapps/common/No Man's Sky/Binaries'NMS.exe"

Any ideas? Help appreciated!!

Help!! Saved portals don’t work after last update [Question]

Any idea what’s going on and how to solve this?

All my portals, regardless of the galaxy, cannot be accessed. They request to recharge all the slots/glyphs, but even after doing so I cannot enter the glyphs in order to activate the portal.

They get stock in a state of refilled glyphs and nothing happens anymore.

What can I do? I have a ton of them ;( Anyone else experienced the same?

Player base on a newly discovered planet? [Question]

This is a bit of a strange one and wondered if this is just something that happens.

Flew into a brand new system (has me as the person who discovered it) and went round doing my usual look at each planet. I left myself sat in my ship for about 5/10 minutes while afk doing somthing mid way through my trip to each planet. When I came back I noticed a player base had appeared on a planet I hadn't been to yet. Thought maybe somone just happened across me while playing and had already set up a base. When I went to the planet it registers as me being the first person on it? I then visited the base and its fairly large and must have taken a few hours to build, but also seemed abandoned as the generators didn't have any fuel and the batteries were getting low.

I would like to state this is a player base not a generated npc one as it has a player name attached to it and the base computer and shows as a purple base on the hud.

I am now a little bit confused as to what has happened. Is there a glitch where a discovered system has been shown as undiscovered? Is this something left over from before one of the planet updates? A deleted account?

I'm confused.

Multitool Naming Bug Workaround [Discussion]

Was trying to rename multitools and noticed it only changed the name in the first swap multitool slot. Searched reddit and found others had the same issue.

So i figured out a workaround.

Place a weapons rack at a base (if you dont have it, get the blueprint from the Anomoly).

Store all MTs except for the one you want to name.

name it.

Rinse and repeat.

DIY cartography [Discussion]

Sandbox games are more about finding your own way to have fun rather than the developer handing it to you. For me this has been true in all games I played.

When it comes to NMS, I feel like a lot more could be done about planet exploration.

The games gives us coordinates, whether we're in a ship or in a exocraft (i.e. Minotaur).

With this in mind, last night I started mapping a planet, writing down the coordinates of each Point of Interest in a spreadsheet and then using a scatter plot chart in order to create a map. Just for fun, I setup my base just close to the 0,0 coordinates (centre of the map).

Looking at the scatter plot chart, for example, I can tell that a drop pod, and encampment and a crashed ship are not too far south west of the base.

This can also help organizing your exploration and mapping my quadrants/octants etc.

It can obviously be improved a lot with labels or specific icons on the map instead of dots, but it's a start.

The more I play [Discussion]

The more I play this game, the more I fall in love with it. It's like everytime I start playing, I find something new or some new challenge or realize I still have the Artemis quests to do but I've side tracked myself for the last 4 days lol. The game keeps giving and giving. It may be the first time I've thought, please give me something to pay for so I can further support this wonderful game! I never want it to go away! Add to the game itself this awesome sub and you amazing folks and holy crap, I feel like it's the game I will be playing for the rest of my life! OK, enough fan boying, back to my travels! Moin, Ich hätte da ein kleines Problem. Ich spiele NMS auf der Xbox...

Neuerdings sind die Bildschirme in meinem Raumschiff komplett schwarz. Geändert habe ich nichts, Neustart/Laden hat keine Veränderungen gebracht. Die Kameraansicht zu verstellen, ebenfalls nicht - ansonsten funktioniert alles wie immer, Waffen und Antriebe sind aktiv. Das Problem tritt überall auf - im Stehen, im Flug, auf Planeten und auf Raumstationen.

Kennt das jemand von euch und habt ihr einen Tipp für mich?

Can't play: Vulkan Swap Chain error crashes loading screen [Bug]

Downloaded No Man's Sky a few weeks ago, I'm 20 hours in and the game started crashing while scanning fauna a week ago. Error: Unable to initialize Vulkan Swap Chain.

Now it won't even let me load the game, as it crashes right after the loading screen.

I've tried the current experimental mode but the issue is still there... I literally can't play the game.

What I've tried:

Did a clean installation and updated my drivers (intel iRIS xe),

Reinstalled the game twice

Turned vsync off (both in game and in its respective editable text file)

Edited the vulkan file (adding _off or _old)

Deleted the file called "TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS"

Launched the game from Binaries folder

and nothing helped. My Asos laptop is only 1 year old and I only have Steam and No Man's Sky on it, so it cannot be a memory problem.

Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1360P 2.20 GHz

Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.6 GB usable)

Windows 11

What's worrying is that not even this update is going to help. When am I going to be able to play the game?

Apollo speaks‐ Any translation? [Question]

I know all the words of Gek/Korvax/Vy'keen/Autophage/Atlas. But Apollo states this after using the glyphs and gets held by the Atlas. "Aun ciygn rim darwa, ienn. Aun umer Aun ciygn spar umer". Anyone know the translation, or what 'race' Apollo is?

Will scrapping my fighter lose Starship Expansion Module(s)? [Question]

So, I am currently cruising in an A-Class Sentinel Interceptor to which I have added MANY expansion augmentation modules, mostly from scrapping crappier crashed ships. I think it's up to 40+ tech and who knows how many storage spots. A lot. Not positive of the SC slots off the top of my head, but they are pretty scattered. (Not near my PS5 currently to confirm but these are close-ish numbers.)

I have now picked up an S-Class Sentinel Interceptor (via NMSCE glyphs) that is a bit cooler looking to my eye AND has 4 SC slots in a row, but only has ~30 tech slots. (Picture from the NMSCE post attached. Shout out to u/tim78rpm for sharing. I like the blues.)

My question is: will I get any/all/none of those previously installed expansion slots back if I scrap my current ride? OR am I maybe just better off upgrading my current ship to S-Class? (I am close to having enough nanites I think to just upgrade.) Is 40+ tech slots overkill? OR OR should I be keeping both and just grinding to get more expansion slots to add to the new ship and moving tech between the two as needed.

Is upgrading low class ship worth it stat-wise? [Question]

I found extremely nice fighter ship, but it is a C class. Is finding S class better or is upgrading better in terms of final stats for the ship. I don’t mind the price for upgrading, atleast I will have some goal to work towards. My question is if I upgrade C class ship to S class are stats gonna be better than on found ship that is already S class? Or other way around? Or it depends on some stat roll each ship gets… thank you wise travelers.

I asked Hello Games if I could make a music video using No Man's Sky and they said yes! [Fan Work]

No Man's 60th Parallel

Hello everyone. I’ve been playing No Man’s Sky for ages, first on Xbox and now on Playstation. I am also in a couple of bands. Almost a year ago in May 2024, while I was deep into a NMS session, the lyrics to a particular song called “60th Parallel” were going round my noggin and I was amazed that in my head the words to the song were matching my actions in the game. The song’s about a traveller and mentions spaceships! This was my lightbulb moment!

So I contacted Hello Games to ask if it was OK to create a music video using footage from the game? Tim at Hello Games publishing department replied very quickly and said “Yes, no problem”. Woohoo!! Hello Games are absolutely amazing with their dedication to the game and their appreciation of the fanbase. I don’t think I’ll ever stop playing.

Even though they said no problem, there actually was a problem, as the song was not yet recorded. But even so, I started formulating what scenes I’d need and started recording specific snippets of gameplay, sometimes taking hours to get the best selection of 2 second shots that I could to visually relay the story the song tells.

Fast forward to now, the song is recorded, and we’re about to release it to the world but I wanted to share the video with other NMS lovers before that happens as I’m really proud of the job I’ve done and think the video is pretty darn good.

But of course, I would think that! I’ve spent a lot of my time and effort creating it, and getting the video clips from a Playstation to a PC was a bit more arduous than I first thought it would be as it involved recording the game, uploading to PSApp, downloading to my phone, then uploading to Google drive, and finally downloading to the PC. Gets a bit...

First time expedition troubles on titan! [Question]

Hi there travelers I’ve been playing for about 70 hours just started my first expedition on titan to try and get the living ship and boy howdy I’m having a rough time. See I’ve been playing on creative mode because I just really like exploring and building ships and bases and stuff NMS is my relaxation game after a long work week, I work in the mental health field and work a crazy amount of hours I’m a girl in my 30s so I don’t have a ton of time to play. How did you guys prep and get through your first expedition experience. I’ve been swarmed by sentinels while just trying to repair my ship to get off the planet and I’m low of fuel and can’t jump :( plz help. I’m having trouble locating a lot of materials because the planet I spawned on has very Little Rock and lots of tornado 🌪️ electricity ⚡️ storms lol any advice would be appreciated thanks everyone!

Sunken freighters on Switch [Bug]

Going back to finish up the Expedition on my Switch, and am running into an issue that I did not encounter on PC. I am completely unable to find any sunken freighters. Landed on an Aquatic world, used the Nautilon scanner to find one, and when I went to the location it identified, there was nothing there. I did try reloading the restore point to see if it would show up on reload, but it did not.

Ok, let's try a different tactic - went to two more worlds with large oceans in the same system, and the Nautilon scanner just reports there are no nearby sunken freighters no matter where on the planet I am.

Has anybody else encountered this, and if so, what did you do to work around it?

Considering buying the game... [Question]

Hey guys!

With the current sale on Steam, I'm heavily considering buying this game. I just wanted some clarification on some aspects of the game before I pull the trigger on that.

So, my main desire with this game is to pilot a cool spaceship, discover cool star systems, and explore planets I find interesting.

It goes without saying that that is a main focus of the game, but I know there's crafting/basebuilding in the game as well, which I'm personally not a big fan of, though I don't necessarily mind crafting some necessary components to fly a ship or survive if I need to.

My question is: would my exploration of the universe be greatly inhibited if I mostly didn't pay attention to crafting and avoided basebuilding almost entirely?

Missing items in trades [Question]

Have others been having issues lately with traded items just not appearing; my brother and I have been farming living parts for my Wraith - he didnt mamage to get his as his Expedition was bugged to heck .. but when he transferred me a bunch of the eggs, they left his inventory but never appeared in mine (they also arnt in his ship etc either, ie the other places he could quick transfer to)

Can't find Sentinels for Pugneum for "Expanding the Base" [Question]

I have 4 planets with high sentinel activity and none with "aggressive".

I've been occasionally finding abandoned buildings on one of those by flying about, landing then using a signal-booster. None of the abandoned buildings spawned sentinels on me even while harvesting resources there.

I don't have an exocraft so I can't use the scanner on it.

Any ideas?

I found an easy way to farm nanites I haven't seen discussed anywhere online. [Discussion]

Go to outlaw station > Buy Suspicious Packet (Arms) and Suspicious Packet (Tech) > Open them and sell it to the salvage dealer for nanites > Hop to a different outlaw station and repeat

I've easily made 60,000~ nanites an hour from this

You can buy contraband with each station you visit too and it will make your money back from buying the packets. I'd recommend at least 10,000,000 Units before starting this (which I happened to get from scrapping abandoned ships I found using the minotaur radar, but I'm sure you could grind to it by selling contraband).

Anyway, thoughts and ideas about this method would be appreciated :)

How do I get more living ships? [Question]

I completed the starbirth quest and got my first one. Since then I’ve had about 20 hours of playtime and I’ve been carrying four void eggs with me yet have not had anything happen to prompt me to locate another one. Am I missing something?

How to meet other players? [Question]

So, eh... I'm relatively new to the game and wanted to play with a friend, but it seems like I can't see or meet other players. I went into my settings and made sure multiplayer was activated... I'm on xbox so I also went in the xbox setting and multiplayer is activated there too, plus I have xbox ultimate so there should be no problems there. There was always an error popping up, something about not being able to connect to the player search funktion or something? (I play in German so I don't know what that error means in English...)

What is that?😅 Has anyone else experienced this error and knows what it means, or how I can see other people?

Uncommon Quality of Life Hacks? [Discussion]

What is something you wish you knew when you started playing that not a lot of players would know?

Example: The minotaur exocraft can't swim and will sink straight to the bottom. This is really helpful to jump long distances while farming underwater rather than having to take the sub everywhere.

Cant find the Living Buildings on a visited system [Question]

Hi,

I have been playing NMS intermittently for a little less than a year. With Worlds II, I came back and continued from the planet I had visited last. The planet had some synthetic creatures and living buildings roaming about. One was horse-sized and the other was quite huge. I fed the horse-sized creature some ion battery I had in my inventory and it gave me some chewy wires.

This interested me in animal taming and farming as this is something that I hadn't done before. I called my ship and went over to the nearest star system to see if there were any animals. Kept jumping, until I found a sweet spot to build a base to mine minerals. Finally made a portal and went back to my capital planet. There I continued to feed the animals and also realised that I can combine different things to create new food items.

Afterwards, I felt I should go back to the synthetic creature planet. Checked my discoveries tab and saw that I hadn’t scanned them. Flew back to the base I built and figured out the path I had jumped but to no success.

Turning to online resources, I read that synthetic creatures and living buildings are found in uncharted systems (red, blue, and green stars). In my discoveries tab I saw that: I had visited a green star system but Vykeen were there. This was also not discovered by me and I had only gone to one planet. Most likely a trip admiring other people’s base. I had visited a blue star system long back. This is uncharted, but I haven't visited any planet in this system I had visited two red systems. Both uncharted.  On one, I had gone to a planet but all of the creatures i had scanned there were biological In the other system, there were 6 and I had visited 3 (including a moon). None of them had the right animals. Also one did not have any atmosphere and the other was an imploding planet. (This star system was the most likely...

I need help [Question]

I'll explain briefly what happened, I was about to complete expedition 17 when I accidentally dismantled the Atlantis engine that was previously broken in a space duel, I tried to look for the materials it needs to be built but I can't find the indium and the atlatideum, the indium can be found in a system with a blue sun but I can't get there since I don't have the project for the engine I need, instead I don't know where to look for the atlantis, then the living glass I think is the only thing I can create, it's really frustrating since I was really close to finishing expedition 17. If you have a good heart help me please. (i use italian language)

The lost Vulture [Question]

Hello there ! Been playing the game for a month now and can't stop being amazed by it !

I found a way to do the old expedition 13 and got the Iron Vulture, the best looking ship in my opinion. However, I wish to customise it in camo paint but if I scratch it for the parts, I'll only get one out of the three.

The Youtube method using the expedition saved game to copy your ship is not working for me, I can't transfer anything from the anomaly to the main save, I only was able to get the official expedition rewards.

So I was wondering if someone had Vulture parts to exchange or if it's something doable ? Are there discords for that kind of trades or.. ?

Finished my first expedition ever! [Screenshot]

I’m about fifty hours in and tried expedition 16, but was stuck, and now I’ve finally finished the Titan Expedition, in about three -kzzt- weeks!

Can we just take the time to appreciate all of the interlopers who make bases near everything we need, and the travellers who make -kzzt- guides, both video and written? The expeditions would be so harder without them. Once again, thank you!

Trace of metal bugged. [Bug]

Okay so I’ve claimed a settlement and started doing the basics of the quest line, I warped to my settlement today and it was under attack from sentinels. I destroy them all and get some empty drone shell, get a message to talk to a guy on the anomaly, I give him the drone shell and finish the conversation, the quest says I need to talk to him again so I do. It’s like I never talked to him. I had to go back to my base to kill more sentinels and get another shell, I give him this one and it bugs out again like I never talked to him. Wtf do I do? I can’t do anything in my settlement it’s under constant attack.

Game not launching through Game Pass [Question]

Any ideas? I usually play on my Xbox, but I wanted to try VR. I've launched Steam VR and connected my headset, but when I launch the game, it gives me an error.

VR thing i just went through [Information]

hopefully this is old news for everyone else but it's something i just dealt with yesterday so i wanted to share in case anyone else is running into it.

the problem i was running into was that over Steam Link (which is wireless) with my Quest 3, the game would run well but you have to deal with the normal compression and connection quality issues that you get with wireless streaming. with a wired connection using Meta Link and then running Steam VR, things looked great but it would run at like 2 fps.

the issue ended up being that i had Meta Link set to like 90hz or something but Steam VR set to 120 hz. they really didn't like this. once i set them both to 120 hz, they started playing nice together.

I'm doing a hardcore roleplaying savefile right now I started for the Aquarius expedition. I made this cute FishingGek whose only care in the world is catching all fish and scouting new fishing spots on the most beautiful planets. He's building little cozy shacks all over the universe, only ever visiting planets with water.

He has only one ship, the Squid (naturally!). He has no freighter. His only source of income is fishing and cooking. Yeah, it's sloooow going. He's also collecting experimental pistols but I digress.

Now with Worlds 2 I had a dilemma. I want the new water worlds of course. But they are locked behind all the main storylines. I didn't want to do all that again for the fourth time and anyway it's immersion breaking to be one of the 3 races learning about his own like a guy with amnesia. (I at least got rid of some of the dissonance with the save game editor where I quickly unlocked all Gek words.)

When I finally caught the Child Of Aquarius I had an idea! My Gek established a telepathic connection to it when it was released from the automated trap after so so long. It was confused and enraged but Gek being a friendly guy, when he defeated it, he felt this connection and put it in a jar. The Child Of Aquarius calmed down and they became friends, talking without words. Gek built him his own diving mech suit so Aquarius could walk around and explore the world. Doing so it discovered the whole Atlas weirdness. Curious to learn about the world it is now close to the end doing the Purge.

So every time I'm continuing the storyline I switch to the jellyfish character. When I fish and build my little bases I switch to the Gek.

I also imagine they hang out and stuff and exchange adventure stories. I'm already super invested in...

Im really digging the game and going really slow building up a ton of resources and only visited 3 systems outside my starting one but I havent seen many really good ships, not even many A class, I managed to score a decent A class fighter which Ive been using. Ive built up a good amount of units so all of a sudden I see an S class explorer so I buy it. Then not 3 minutes later I see an S class exotic land and I was able to buy it too.

Heres the thing. I like my A class fighter and so far havent had a need for more so what do I do with these? Could/should I use the exotic like my fighter?

The other thing I am confused about is the free freighter, I did the battle and it wasnt really a good ship B class so I passed on it and Ill wait for the next one but it only had 18 cargo slots, how is that possible for a freighter? Am I missing something there?

First Expedition [Question]

Always warp to galaxy core [Bug]

This is done from the last system you visit, that actually has a warp path to the core.

I was about to warp to a galaxy core but landed on a planet instead. Located the monolith, then the portal. I activated the portal and dialed the sunset address.

Then got back in the ship and left the planet. Opened galaxy map and warped to galaxy core. Arrived at next galaxy. Repaired my stuff and flew into space to check the galaxy map, and i noticed i was in a new galaxy but in a system only 3500LY from the core.

So I repeated it all. Warped to the last system before the core, and located a portal. Dialed the sunset address, then flew back to space and warped to the core. Nice. Cane to a new galaxy again, in a system 3500LY from the core.

I've repeated this 4 times. Seems consistent.

Titan Generic Currency Help [Question]

Hello fellow travelers! I am nearly done with the Titan mission. However I am stuck on the Genetic Currency mission. I've added the Consciousness Prediction Unit as a "powerful upgrade module for the Analysis Visor." Is this not the correct upgrade? I can't seem to find any fauna and flora beyond 10,000. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's basically the last item and I'm already in the 5th rendezvous system. Thanks yall!

Been away for almost a year... [Suggestion]

Turned it on today and had no idea what to do first. ....

Just started running around with no aim. The first planet I went to was in the middle of a heat storm. The second planet I went to had aggressive sentinels so I had to fight my way off the planet. I went to a space station and waited for about 15 to see if there were different ships to land and see if I could find a cool S class... Lol

What in the world should I do?

Should I switch from No Man's Sky on the switch to PC? [Discussion]

I enjoy the portability of NMS on the switch since I go out sometimes, not too often that it would be pointless for me to get it on pc

However right now im raisng my savings and thinking of selling the game along with some other games i have, since im thinking that ill just get it on pc when its on sale anyway since it's lesser then the price i bought it on the switch for

Game crashes when loading my save, do you guys know any workaround? [Bug]

Hello everyone, hope y'all doing good.

I have an issue with the game. When I load my save, it puts me back where I left (at my colony) but something makes the game crash 3 seconds after. I don't get any report so I can try to pinpoint what can be the issue. This is very sad because I cannot test the new update and I don't want to loose my progress again (I restarted a game on PC last year after selling my PS4).

Do you know what I can here? Is there a way to load back a previous save?

I attached a video to show the issue. When the save loads, it puts me in my colony; under attack by sentinels.

Expedition 17 bug? [Bug]

Hello I think I'm having some sort of bug.

In the galaxy map I can't choose expedition route anymore only free exploring and heart of the galaxy.

That makes it almost impossible to find the system I need to travel to for the next rendezvous :/

Maybe someone has an idea how to fix this? I'm really lost and I wanted to finish the missions this weekend..

Can somebody give me a clear answer on how to get activated quartzite? [Question]

Im on an old save from the release of this game, and now that is seems much better ive revisited it. Ive had general ease looking up how to do things but nomatter what i watch or read there is literally no clear answer on how to obtain activated quartzite without it being a 15 minute guide on how to make a convoluted mega factory for quartzite. Im seriusly at my wits end. Why cant any guide or anything tell me how to get this basic resource?!

I just want an exocraft summoner. Ive visited 15 different "purple" galaxies and have had no luck finding a single planet with "activated quartzite". Its infuriating to be totally at a loss for 3 hours over this stupid basic resource. Please somebody help.

Freighter messed up [Question]

Did anybody else load up their game yesterday and discover that their interior freighter is all messed up? So much so that they have corridors blocking doorways, like somehow the whole freighter got completely messed up and now it won't let me edit or delete any of the sections

37h in did not even finish the main story. Just spending time discovering new planets & systems. I keep being amazed by some of the landscapes it offerts. The game can be somewhat intimidating for a casual gamer like me (even though not difficult at all, I find) with all the possibilities it offers... For exemple I'm not even sure how to build your own spacecraft... But progressing with every hours I spend on it.

Biodome stacking - can’t access harvest computer [Question]

I followed the Xaine’s world instruction video very closely

Made sure the bottom 3 had a gap before starting level 4-12, and made sure alignment for doors was correct. Was able to out the holo doors on top of each other to have the “gap” to see the harvest computer.

The issue is the even after all that, the computer can’t be reached from the holodoor gap.

I’ve tested and you have to be just inside the lip of the biodome to access the computer. I’m testing how many I can stack with a teleporter built inside for access, but my question is this…

UI help [Question]

Hi all,

I usually fly an explorer, and the little notification of what I should be doing is constantly popping up and covering the speed readout for my ship. Is there ANY way to get these things to stop popping up? I love just flying around playing the game, but this is such an annoying thing for me…. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey all, New to expeditions / it has been a few years since I touched No man's sky. I clicked on start an expedition from the main menu... what happens after the expedition to my character? does it convert to a regular save? I also started (2 hours played) a save on regular... can I somehow get to expeditions from that character?

Bug? Griefing?? A second room on top of the Anomaly? [Bug]

I am new to No Man’s Sky and despite this, am playing a survival difficulty. I have spent about 40 hours now and am enjoying this game greatly. Now things are getting rolling and I have quite a bit of stuff.

I went to the Anomaly this morning to spend some salvage date and while I was in the purchase menu, some random player bummed me with his shield and glitched me through a wall. I was unable to find out how to get back into the main room, and in my haste, I fell through the Anomaly and into space. Thus I experienced my first ever death in Starfield at the hands of some jerk…

Is there anyway to get my stuff back or am SOL?

Inhabited red systems [Discussion]

I actually found an inhabited red system, and it got me wondering how common they are. Every other one I've seen or been to is either uncharted or abandoned, to the point that I usually avoid them.

This one's kind of a nightmare, TBH: 4 dead planets/moons, 1 volcanic, and 1 heimdal. The volcanic has frequent "wall of flame" storms with lightning and intense smoke/embers even without a storm. The heimdal is mostly ocean and has thunder blizzards.

How many have you all found?

How often does an update come out which isn't retroactively applied to old saves? [Question]

Is there a way to determine from the patch notes either in the website or wiki which updates were vs weren't grandfathered into older saves? For example, as I recall, major updates such as the mech update weren't, so if you were already playing on a save you'd have to start a new game to use that feature. But smaller updates such as graphical enhancements probably apply to older saves. I know we can't predict the future but maybe I can get a feel for how often this happens by looking at the trend within the past 2 years.

The reason I ask is I don't play that often and I usually get a few hours in, then move on to a new game, and by the time I come back, there's been an amazing update so I have to start a new game, so I never get the sense of long-term progression.

Built My Dream Home - Ruins Lake Mansion [Build]

I was going to wait until completely finishing the build before sharing, but I just hit the 3000 piece limit, and figured I’d post what you’d actually see if visiting.

This is on a paradise planet in the Eissentam galaxy. Glyphs in the photos. I did not find the planet. I took the portal there from the anomaly. Hope the other occupant doesn’t mind! It’s the best planet I’ve ever come across. Just like my last build. The views are better than the build!

I wanted to post pics instead of video so I could add some comments. Sorry for some of the text. Not good at photo editing. At all.

I just started posting videos on my YouTube. iBuild85. I’ll try to post a link. Warning, I’m just now learning how to edit videos. It’s been a rough start lol.

I’ve posted a few videos of this build as I’ve been going. Really cool to see the progress, as well as the change in ideas. I watched my first video and everything I had in the video I thought was a finished product. Then watching this last video it was interesting to see how much better it gets if you just keep applying new ideas to your old ways/build.

I’m going to finish the build and post it on my YouTube in the next week or two. I am just awful doing the interior. Everybody on here is so much more creative. Maybe it’s because I’m getting old and losing that ability? Just a heads up for anyone younger. Every year goes faster as you age. I was just 21 like a month ago. Now I have a kid graduating high school. It just doesn’t make sense.

Alright, thanks for viewing. I watched my kids and it’s easy to be proud of literally anything they do (I have a boy named Anakin so hopefully he doesn’t do you know what when he gets older!) This is the first time in forever that I actually had a moment of being proud in myself. I know....

The Parts That Would Make The Most Rare Regular Pistol Multi-Tool (Read Below) [Information]

Im not fully 100% sure which one of these would be the most rare so here's both.

3 tone large crystals on the top and fully colored Shark teeth on the sides with the bright green dots if even possible, a crystal magazine and other parts circled in Pic 1, plus any good matching colors and best supercharged slots.

Or the one in pic 2 that has the 4 bones but with pretty much the same as the other one except the top crystals.

The big Rifles with 3 crystals on top are super rare and can have 3 tone color crystals which are also rare, I'm also almost positive you can get a bottom crystal and the fully colored shark teeth bones that maybe also have the bright green dots if possible, then the best supercharged slots and good matching colors.

Changing Freighter Layout [Question]

Does anybody have any experience changing the layout of their freighter storage containers. Specifically will I lose my inventory stored within when I try and swap them positions (moving storage 4 to where sorage 6 is). I was just putting them down wherever when i needed more space, but now the numbers are all over the place and I'd like to get them in sequential order for my personal sanity and satisfaction.

I finally found a system that produces a decent solar ship! [Discussion]

For a while now I've been looking for a good solar ship. It hasn't been easy. There's plenty of them in pirate systems, but I wanted one with a good supercharged slots layout. Plus, I wanted one with specific ship parts and in a specific color. So, the odds of me just finding one that ticks off all my boxes were not great. So, I tried my luck with the ship fabricator. It's kind of annoying to use, but at least it eliminates one of the variables since I can just select the color. Also, it eliminates the waiting. I can just jump in, try the parts I like, and quickly move on. It took me a while to find one I was satisfied with, so I just want to share if someone's looking for one, too.

Firstly, to build this ship you need the following parts (different parts will result in a different supercharged slots layout): Starwolf Fuselage Sabre Wing (V-Blade) – Careful here, there're other V-Blades (scimitar and razor), and those will produce different SC slots layout. Although, I think Razor V-Blade produces 3+1 combo on this station. Hex Sail S-Class Reactor

To find these parts you could camp at a trading outpost in an outlaw system, but it might take you a while to get these parts. This cockpit in particular seems rare. It's also kind of hard to tell which wings a ship is using. So, I recommend using this table. It was created by a person named Mojenar, and it'll lead you to all possible ship parts you could ever want.

Now, go to this system in Eissentam and build the ship (colors don't matter, choose what you like):

Goal to turn entire island into one base [Build]

I haven’t played in 6-7 months but suddenly felt the need to venture into the black once more. I discovered an ice planet which I named Jotunn and this island in particular called to me. I started off with a small base on in adjacent smaller island, but eventually decided to convert it into a club and build a bridge connecting to the main island that will eventually what I hope is either a port city or a fortress……..I may have underestimated how much time this would take and my borderline OCD when it comes to game design isn’t helping🥺

Parts That Would Make The Most Rare Alien Multi-Tool (Read Below) [Information]

I think the Rarest Alien Tool would be a Rifle with a crystal coming out the barrel and all 3 tone colored large crystals, a fully colored single bone on top and maybe the 2 colored Shark teeth bones on the sides all with the bright green dots if its all even possible, if not then I think just the single bone on top.

Green tubing and Green side piece circled in and all parts that can be colored, it's more rare to have both the primary and secondary color be the same plus good colors in general and best supercharged slots.

The rarest color I guess would be one that matches the three tone crystals and one color green to match the bright green dots on bones.

In Depth Info About Alien Multi-Tool Rarity! (Extras In The Comments) [Information]

All circled parts in Pic 1 and 2 have a chance to have different colors, it seems more rare for most of them to have a separate color than the multi tool.

The Blue circled side part can be Grey and then the Dark Green version seems like the most rare side piece, the Tubes can also be Grey and Dark Green seen in Pic 3

The rare bright green dots on the Shark tooth in Pic 3 seem to be slightly more rare than the colored tip ones circled in yellow in Pic 1, but the rarest one i think is a fully colored Shark Tooth bone in Pic 3.

3 tone color crystals seem way more rare than 2 tones and Large crystals compared to small ones are also uncommon.

The white dots on the side seem like they can be any color but unique colors can be pretty rare.

Colors I've noticed "might" be less common: Dark Brown, Boneish Light Yellow and Dark Green, also note that having both primary and secondary color be the same is more rare.

The Rifle Alien tools are much less common, magazines seem more uncommon than crystal clip parts and crystals seem to be the most uncommon back spike part.

This is what I've been able to record from all my best and unique tool finds but if you have any extra info please share.

Is there any way a city could be hidden from sentinels [Discussion]

I just think it would be a great thing for devs to add if they can find a way in the lore. A cloaked city or city planet could be a hidden civilization that uses advanced technology inspired by Atlas experiments or Korvax engineering to slip out of the Sentinels’ radar. The idea is that the city shifts into another state or dimension, so scans just don’t pick it up.

I have over 100,000 quicksilver and over 100,000 of all currencies. When I try to buy it nothing happens.

When I heard about Expeditions, I thought I would wait until I mastered the game and then try them. I was thinking they were more of a late-game experience. But one day I decided to jump in and am pleasantly surprised to find it is a fantastic tutorial for a beginner. There are many things I am being forced to do that I probably never would have bothered with. It has been really fun trying to figure out all these details of the game. Portal activation animation [Question]

Has anyone noticed that when you activate a portal after inputting glyphs that the animation looks a lot less flashy than before? I've been noticing that lately since I came back to the game after not playing it for 3 years. I remember them having lightning and sparks coming off of them as they were activating and keeping the lightning effect as it was active. Is this something they did to the game to cause less lag or something? Idk if this is just me and I'm having a Mandela effect but I feel like I'm not wrong.

How exactly does ship building work? [Question]

So I've built several ships and I can't tell if the stats are generated by certain variables like system/parts used, whether the moving stat bars mean anything or if it's completely random. Everything online is conflicting with some saying this or that matters while others saying it doesn't. Plus the info is quite old. So I'm curious to find the answer because I want to build a design of my own yet I'm hard pressed to build one with decent stats. Is there something I should be doing? Or am I just that unlucky? Dumb question: if starting from my existing save, where do I see how long did it took me to complete Titan (or any expedition these days)? [Question]

Apologies if I’m just totally missing something here. Totally possible.

I think since the expedition launch mechanism changed to the Nexus, and we started getting that groovy summary of all of the things that we did during the expedition when we end it at the console, I assumed that the time it took to complete was buried in the stats somewhere. But now that I’m specifically looking for that stat after Titan, I cannot find that information? Am I missing it?

Basically if we launched the expedition from our main save and we want to know how long it took us, do we just have to make a manual note of the time started / ended ourselves?.

Somewhat new player here, need help understanding how expeditions work [Question]

I got the game when it went on sale a while ago and fell in love FAST. I have recently however hit a point where I no longer know what else to do so I would like to try the expedition. My question is how the save works for it. I have heard you start a brand new save or start with an existing one but start with limited items. I want to keep my main save but i dont want to end up messing up the save data or anything else. Would it be easier to start a new save for it or will it be ok to use my existing save?

also if I unlock autophage for one save is it unlocked in others too? I love them but i dont want to have to go through everything for them in every save i make.

Huge FPS drop during loading into game (the stars). [Question]

Hi, I recently bought No Man's Sky and when I first booted up the game, I selected mode in the menu and went right in. During the loading (when you fly through the stars and the No Man's Sky logo appears), my game slowly lost FPS until it got to like 0-1 fps and I quit.

I changed some settings, tried again and it worked fine. Could've been because of the settings or some other thing, I have no idea.

Thing is, I tried running No Man's Sky in PCVR with my Meta Quest 3 and no matter what I do I cannot get past the loading. It always start with stuttering once every 3-5 seconds and it eventually devolves into a 0.3fps completely broken artifacts everywhere fuckfest.

Anyone has any idea what's going on or how to fix?

Worlds 2 update broke the ability to use my PSVR1 on a PS5 with No Man's Sky? [Bug]

Been using my original PSVR (PSVR1) headset with my PS5 to play a large number of PS4 titles, including No Man's Sky (which I've sunk about 300 hours into, almost all in VR). Everything was going great until I installed Worlds II update; now, when I connect my PSVR and try to boot up the PS4 version of No Man's Sky, it never makes it past the white splash screen with the game title. It stays frozen forever, until I manually "close app" from the dashboard, at which point I get a game crash screen and the PS5 asks me to "report error".

When I turn my PSVR off and run the PS4 version of the game, it opens perfectly.

I realize I'm using aging hardware but I don't really have the cash to spend on a new PSVR2 headset, and my old one works great, so really hoping Hello Games can address this? Not playing in VR is a completely different experience and not nearly as compelling, not to mention there are a bunch of nuanced things I value about playing in VR (e.g. you can exit your ship immediately after landing in a space station or Anomaly, without having to watch the entire animation of your ship rotating. Small things like this that add up to a better experience).

I tried deleting the game and re-downloading it, to no avail. Anyone else having this issue? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

How the game run in Switch? [Question]

I have saw some videos through the years about the strange evolution, in better, of this game. Recently saw a video of MrSaviorHD playing it for the first time and kinda intrigued me. I would like to give it a try too. I have a Switch, and I love playing laying from my bed, I was surprise the game is present for Switch too. The question is, is it worth it? My concerns are: 1 Is the game updated on Switch like in all others ports or is it stuck in the era when the game was not so cool? 2 If I dont have friends to play with, is still mandatory/worth it to play online? Because I would like to but I don't want to pay for the online subscription of the Switch if I don't have to, but I might do it just for a bit through this game if is really a gamechanger thing. 3 is the game running smoothly on the switch? Sure is worst than the port on PC, but is it at least kinda okay? 4 Are there others concerns I should know about the Switch port in general?

While doing Nexus missions, it says position not saved, but if you warp your freighter there (and it has a Teleport Chamber), then you can teleport back to the system after finishing the mission.

I can blow up ships and steal their cargo, become the pirate king and own a fleet of ships larger and strong then them, but I can't steal ships or force them to pay me to not blow them up. Why the hell not? Why can't I go around forcing small fry to pay me life insurance?!

For expedition 17 I can't for the life eof me get a tornado to get me. I have spent 5 hours YES 5 GOD DAMN HOURS to find 1 SINGLE TORNADO. Expedition question [Question]

I have the nautilon and I've used it in the two aquatic planets. I'm pinging away for hours using the high quality sonar (yes I"m hitting x to bring it up and choose crashed freighter as the option) and I'm just finding NOTHING. "No nearby buildings" seems to be its anthem. What, dear fellow travelers, am I doing wrong?

So as the title says I got NMS on the pc finally! So I just finished my first ever Expedition, Titan, a couple days ago, but noticed something odd once it was complete and I was able to continue as a "normal" save.

I'm aware that the Expedition replaces the usual Awakenings starting mission sequence. But what confused me was how things played out after that. I got the initial emergency communications from Artemis as usual, plus the "go find the comm beacon" and Advanced Mining Laser objectives.

But usually Nada is meant to contact you right after that, and then invites you into the Anomaly after automatically summoning it in front of you; this Anomaly visit is what's supposed to then direct you to continuing Artemis' missions right after. This never happened. I was able to progress all the way through Artemis' whole location triangulation sequence without ever having encountered the Anomaly or heard from Nada.

What tipped me off about it was when you initially send data to Artemis at the Comm Terminal and dialogue options have you mention Nada to Artemis, when I had never actually met or heard from Nada yet. Then I was able to summon the Anomaly later without having visited it yet or spoken to Nada.

Obviously it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things since it's not like I was blocked from anything. But I was curious if anyone has ever noticed this before?

Meeting the Atlas in VR was incredible. [Discussion]

Been playing NMS on and off since launch, but very heavily within the last 4 years. I bought my last PC in 2018, but finally decided it was time to upgrade just last week--and I knew exactly what to play first.

Having played through the main storyline close to a dozen times, I was so excited to jump into VR and immerse myself in the worlds I've grown to love so much...but I wasn't really prepared for what it would feel like. Standing in the bases I spent dozens of hours building, looking around me as I zip through the atmospheres of planets I've discovered, being able to see my companions up close--it was amazing. Stepping out of my ship in the Anomaly, and seeing the Nexus right in front of me was so awe-inspiring!

But even more impactful than the sights and sounds, actually "meeting" Nada, Polo, and the Atlas was almost overwhelming. Seeing these things in person was just such a surreal experience, especially given the size and presence of the Atlas Interfaces.

Just wanted to share some of those thoughts! If you are able to play the game in VR but haven't yet--I implore you to give yourself the gift of that experience.

did anyone else get to the anomaly during expedition to find none of the items you put in? Not only is it basically a reset but also dont have access to the "starter kit" i made. Restarting with so many objectives is dumb. I did like this game but am finding it unplayable now that im just customizing my freighter because there is nothing else. If i wanted to restart i would just make a new save which i dont. Unistalled.

So im speed running survival playthrough to get the achievement, then doing permadeath. I get to the core, and the last star i need to jump to (the core) is a purple star. Im new and this is my first time to the core, did worlds two make speed running the core much harder? I now have to go back and grind to in stellar multidudes to get the atlantid drive.

Replacing my pirated NMS and buying the real one [Question]

It is spring discount in steam right now and it went low enough that I have the money to buy it and support the game without hurting my wallet (I am from southeast asia).

Opened a portal that didn't let me use glyphs and now I'm stuck on a planet [Bug]

I opened it and noticed that it didn't let me use the glyphs, so I thought "Why not?". Hopped in, and OH MY GOD. I'm stuck in this Ossified planet and my last save was 1 hour ago. I can't summon my starships because it won't let me, let alone even allow me to press Z to build something. But hey, at least I'm also not taking any fall damage... so... I guess that's a plus(?). I even found another redditor's post from two years ago with the same experience, one person even commented 4 months ago from now that they experienced the same thing. I don't know whether to give up all my progress or just wait until something happens on this planet full of bones.

How do you get more blue prints besides the one offered [Question]

I haven’t played in a while and am picking up the game again but I’m about 120 hours in. I got lost in the exploration and fleet building and never finished the main quest. I have most of the blue prints available unlocked on the station but I see people with these amazing designs using buildings not offered or even available to unlock. Are these from seasonal explorations or are they blueprints you unlock on later missions?

[SteamVR] Stuck in anomaly state with initial navigational data [Bug]

Weird situation that I don't know if it's my hardware or something else - I can't use the Navigational Data to get to the Hermetic Seal building, it just disappears as if I dropped it. I can use the same button to move my modules around in the inventory (R-down). I'm using a HTC Vive and controllers.

Any ideas what might be causing that? Is it a tutorial bug I should report?

So I have this bug where the galaxy map doesnt show me the way to rendezvous points because it autocompleted.

Does anyone have pictures from the Nihalin-Negan system in the galaxy map so I can search for it more easily. I've been trying to find if for like 30 minutes I know it''s somewhere near Haporin but no luck.

Or maybe you could tell me if one of the planets in the systems has high amounts of some mineral so I cans earch that way?

Custom difficulty for a new player? Help [Question]

I'm about to buy NMS on Switch, I know about the custom difficulty and I want to change it a bit but I have no knowledge at all about the game. I'm that kind of person that plays Skyrim in Legendary difficulty, Breath of The Wild on Master Mode, Minecraft in RLCraft modpack, I like souls like etc etc etc, basicaly I like challenge games. I would like to tweak the game but I have no idea of what to do. So i would like a more difficult experience and more combat oriented custom difficulty, but still I would like to experience the game properly and I don't want to make it too much different from what is supposed to be. Also, I'm okay for mundane tasks in game but I prefer to reduce them a bit, like I saw somewhere that increase the speed of the scanning of wild life is a good thing, right? Also that some technology keep breaking too much? I would like to set that kind of stuff a little bit to be more enjoyable and less a annoyance, but not totaly erase them, just a bit less disturbing than usual if is really too much as people are saying on the sub here.

As a compulsive collector, the way this game handles expedition rewards hurt my soul… [rant] [Discussion]

What do you MEAN I can only have 24 items and 8 techs back? What about the dozens of S tier upgrades the expedition log gave me? And my new stained glass pet?!?!?! The new blueprints I found? And you’re gonna take away my exosuit upgrades too??? And so on.

If I had known there would be so much of a difference in rewards for a new expedition save vs going on one through the anomaly terminal I would’ve just started my game with one, but sadly the game doesn’t tell you “you’re going to lose out on enough rewards to make you vaguely uncomfortable till the end of time if you start in the main mode, the mode with the biggest button!!!!” When you make a save.

As a new player to NMS, thank you to those of you vets that are so generous. [Information]

I started playing NMS on PS5 about 2 weeks ago and will admit I was SO lost. Through trial and error I ended up on The Anomaly where I was standing there trying to organize my inventory when all of a sudden like 3 different people traded stuff into my inventory. I wasn't sure what was going on until about 15 minutes later when I figured out WHAT had been given to me. Someone (I am sorry I missed the name) gave me 30 each of the Multitool expansions and 30 Cargo Expansions along with about 1.3bn in trade goods. Whoever you were, kind people, thank you from a newbie.

How do you migrate tools/ships upgrades ? [Question]

Hi everyone, is there an easy way to migrate the upgrades from one tool to another, apart from moving all to personal inventory, then switching active tool, then applying all upgrades again - any tips, tricks or even mods maybe ? It's also a pain because when you move upgrades to inventory you cant see the stats anymore. After hundred of hours I have a lot of issues with the inventory in this game but this one makes me not want to ever switch main tools/ships. Thanks.

Cyclone City Build [Build]

Introducing my most ambitious build yet, using all 16,000 building parts available, Cyclone City. 🌃 This massive build includes a downtown area, a large sea bridge, a resort island, a space port, and more. The project takes inspiration from Night City in Cyberpunk and Miami. In the city centre I tried to replicate the giant holographic goldfish in Cyberpunk, but used random sea creatures, lmk if you've discovered a more similair koi looking fish I could use instead! Hot Spot Changes? [Question]

Not finding an answer to this question anywhere, and either am facing a bug or wiki is out of date. Currently when scanning a hot spot (magnetized FE for example), I am up to 1000u's away before it lets me scan for another hot spot. It does not matter that density has dropped to zero, and that I have found 2-3 energy hotspots in the same distance and possibly 2 gas hotspots. This is only affecting mining hotspots. Was this some change to force more bases? It puts bases just out of radius for multiple hot spots

Vortex mod manager proven [Bug]

I was able to play Worlds II shortly after it first came out and my mods were updated. And then I came back about 2 weeks later after they released 5.58 I believe. In vortex was giving me incompatible mods shutdowns. At the same time I was getting these shut down error messages I did update Steam. But even after disabling all the mods, I was still getting incompatible mod errors.

So I was thinking maybe I needed a newer extension. For the longest time I was at 1.0 and then when a world's two came out I had to go to 1.01 because of the new mod structure. And that's what I had been successfully playing on.

But here is where I'm stuck. I uninstalled the No Man's Sky extension, and when I try to reinstall it I get this error message on the screenshot saying that the destination already exists.

I tried uninstalling vortex, and then reinstalling it. No help. I tried running this as administrator. No luck.

I'm kind of at a loss because now I can't even reinstall the extension to try and do anything with the mods. So any information you have would be appreciated.

Oh and I did try asking this question over on Nexus/vortex It never got a response.

Can team mates take damage from each other? If a team member Flys out in front or Flys so close to bad guy that my infra knife hits them can it kill said team member?

Dissonant Worlds are Nanite mines! [Discussion]

I just discovered this fact today while hunting for good Atlantid multi-tools! I already had discovered that pugneum + atlantideum made runaway mold at 1:2 ratio. But I had no idea radiant shards made nanites at 1:50!

Or inverted mirrors made nanites at 1:95!!

But after coming across a crashed sentinel C-class I discovered the Hyaline brain converts to nanites at 1:230!!!

Running around in a supercharged top-speed Colossus using its refiner plus my personal refiner simultaneously has been raking in nanites! It's amazing the random things you can learn just rolling around in a tank

Found a planet with Sentinel towers giving out Royals. Royals do not re-roll? [Question]

I found a planet with Royals. I found that the color combination I want spawns after reloading on one of the planets in the system. The Royals are all A class.
Great place to start re-rolling despite the effort it will take.
Four pillars in - two fights and two boundary maps used - All four towers gave me the same exact Royal with the exact same damage, slots and overcharge slots after taking them all back to the station to inspect them.
Do we know for certain that Royal Multitools, alone among all Multitools, do not reroll despite switching their "cabinets" on the planet they spawn from?

I made the apparently very smart decision to build a small base on a moon, and so my building is sometimes drunk. Is there a way to temporarily straighten the camera back up? [Question]

Genuinely want to beat my head against a wall. Managed to do the outer shell but I can’t really put any of the stuff I need on the inside while it’s like this unless I want to spend 40 minutes on each item attempting to them upright.

Whats even more dumb is it’s not like this all the time. Sometimes it goes back, sometimes it’s worse, and it likes to swap between the two whilst neither me nor the camera are moving.

Seriously my base computer is now at a 45° angle and I can’t get it back because you can’t change the rotation axis, and I can’t glitch it because I can’t pick it up.

Please help 😭 and enjoy the screenshot of me looking mildly annoyed in the doorway

NMS improvement idea for future update: [Suggestion]

Wouldn’t it be brilliant if a record of the last time you visited a planet was kept as part of that planet’s ‘Discoveries’ info?

Sometimes when I’m in a system and just exploring, I lose track of which planets I’ve been to or not (if they’ve already been discovered), and especially when there are similar planet types in one system.

For the curious, the immediate effect of falling through space is that life support drops like a rock, so be ready with plenty of resources to recharge it on the way down.

Once I made it down to the atmosphere, life support generally stabilized and I just had to wait until I reached the ground to jetpack myself down to landing speed.

How to get controller / gamepad to work with No Man's Sky? [Question]

I just bought this game on Steam (Flatpak/Proton) and my xbox controller doesn't work at all. I've tried rebooting, selecting different Steam controller layouts, restarting the game. Nothing. Any help please?

(I noticed there was some unusual message before the game started about Steam controllers or something so I just clicked next. Never seen that in a game before and didn't know what it was)

Place two objects in the same spot? [Question]

I want to place two plant decorations in the same spot to merge them into a single plant, is there a technique to achieve that?

A little while ago my game was a little glitched to where objects were completely ignoring placement rules and I could place stuff anywhere in space. Floors were ignored, other objects where ignored, you could just place anything anywhere, which would be fantastic for what I'm trying to do now. I'd love to know how to get back into that weird glitch placement mode for this.

Value of Captured Frigate [Question]

Hi guys, I hope you're all well.

Still quite new to the game, so I was wondering if you could assist me with a question. I went into a new system today and a pirate Frigate was attacking a fleet of ships.

After a while of working out what I needed to do, I managed to disable it and go abroad the pirate Frigate. It gave me the option to claim it. It was a S class and valued at just under 70 million. So thought I'd scoop that up. It did give me an option before claiming it about the layout or something being copied over from an old freighter (I'd stupidly brought a C class early and not done anything with it) I accidentally said yes.

Now, when I've looked at the value of this Frigate it's saying it's only worth 25 million. Am I right in assuming with copying over the previous freighter layouts that's what lost me so much of value of the Frigate?

Iron Vulture ship parts [Question]

I've heard the Iron Vulture is different from other expedition ships in that it can be crafted? Can you use other hauler parts with it like different wings/engines paired with the Iron Vulture cockpit? Or does it need to be all of the same set?

If so, would anyone happen to have any extra vulture parts they'd be willing to part with?

No atlantid drive [Question]

Playing on PS5 and it isn't available as an upgrade in the anamoly. The star systems for it are invisible too. Possible bug? When I check for update, it says the game is up to date. Am I missing something? I completed the expedition just fine.

What’s the deal with finding depth 1,001? Something seems off. [Question]

In my normal save I can find planets with depths over 1000 very very easily but for some reason I’m starting to think it’s impossible in expedition? Anyone have any tips to help me find one?

I’ve tried locating lithium. I’ve tried pinning the 1,001 mission and it sends me to a system that doesn’t have a planet with that depth.

Trying to access worlds 2 content [Question]

I’ve checked that my game is updated, I’m on ps5. I’ve seen a couple other posts about doing a whole bunch of missions to access the update. My questions:

45ish days after the update, what exactly do I have to do to access the new stuff?

Shouldn’t I be able to see the new additions generally flying around systems and exploring?

If this is a redundant post I will delete after I get clarification, it’s just kind of frustrating there isn’t a more clear path to access the new content. Thank you 🙏🏻

No Power Hotspots? [Question]

I have played NMS for almost a year now with multiple servers. I started a new one and I am almost done with all of the secondary missions (I already finished the primary ones) and I have to find a power hotspot for the Industrial Surveying mission. I have the survey device and everything, and I have been flying around my base planet and landed about 30 times to find one. I understand I could go to another planet, but I would prefer to find my hotspot on my base planet. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it a bug, or do some planets just not have hotspots? If it is important my planet is in Euclid and it is a bubble planet.

My first attempt at posting this was a parody on a used planets salesman and I think the mods thought I was selling something.

This is a gorgeous ringed planet in a pirate system in Euclid. The glyphs are in the screenshot. Other than being very aesthetic at night it also has an S class red minivan for the claiming. I upgraded the crash site to make it more comfortable for any traveller's that care to claim it. If you are tired of walking you can befriend these cute flying creatures that are littering the landscape. If you find the crash site and feel adventurous feel free to climb the mountain and visit the "Hi-Bar" where the views are stunning and the vibe is chill.

Lost Expedition Rewards after Reset on MacBook Pro M2 [Question]

I was having trouble with the game freezing every 15 minutes or so during the Titan expedition. I tried a number of things but the game just kept freezing, even after the update, so I finally reset my MacBook.

Luckily the freezing is no longer an issue but I just finished the Titan expedition and went to get the expedition rewards and noticed all other expedition rewards are now missing…

I thought all of this data would be synced to Steam cloud? I made sure Steam Cloud was fully synced before I started the reset.

What are some of the best planet descriptions you all have come across? This moon said “boiling doom”, it was just a bit red lol. Also no, I didn’t rename the planet to be “Nutsville Gamma” it came like that.

Solved: The Void Egg Mission (Living Ship) - "Mission Target in Another Galaxy" Bug [Bug]

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share how I fixed a frustrating bug with the Void Egg mission (the one that leads to getting a Living Ship). I know a lot of people have run into this, so hopefully, this helps!

I was unlucky enough to have the egg point me to a special star system. The game said I needed a certain type of hyperdrive (represented by those mysterious "?" – you'll know it when you see it!) to reach it. After spending some time unlocking various upgrades (hint: you might need more than one), I checked the mission again, only to get the dreaded "Mission Target in Another Galaxy" message. I tried several common fixes, but nothing worked. I couldn't even discard the Void Egg.

I wanted to share how I fixed a frustrating bug with the Void Egg mission (the one that leads to getting a Living Ship). I know a lot of people have run into this, so hopefully, this helps!

I really wanted to avoid directly editing my save files. Instead, I decided to teleport directly to the target system. To do this, I needed the system's coordinates, and for that, I used the excellent Save Editor, NomNom.

Am I too programmed? I have a full life but balanced and NMS is a part of my routine because it allows me to relax. I’m a vet. Recent. I wish there was a way to tell the devs what the game has done for me. I don’t and can’t tell how, maybe to them.

I’m 50hrs into my second galaxy. 100 easy at the first. For someone smart you can slay tasks and get ahead of unknown milestones. Especially if you’re good at project management.

But there isn’t any incentive to slow down which I love. Most old players I guarantee would be surprised to see what I have without googling every step. Maybe I need to outreach more. Put this to good work.

How does the Anomaly work? There's never enough people there for it to be "everyone who is online and at the Anomaly in this moment," so is it limited to regions, or randomly divided up by a bunch of servers to manage the traffic? How to disable white flashes [Information]

Just wanted to do a quick post to say that if the frequent white flashes bother you when playing long hours, you can disable them from: Menu > Options > Accessibility > Flash-To-White Transitions. This reduced my eye strain and hope it helps others. Cheers!

Base disappeared. [Build]

Hey fellow travelers, I came to share something rather interesting that happened last week and also seek for some information maybe. My friend and I saw some cool pics of some “space bases” and wanted to give it a go without looking much into it beforehand. We used the first picture as a model for inspiration and began building glass tunnels going up using a Cylindrical Túnel after every 20th since that seems to be the stackable limit for the Glass Tunnels. We went as high as two Base Computers worth of space going up which was coincidently just close enough to the end of the atmosphere. So we set the third Base Computer on an improvised platform erased the first base at the bottom and left the second one just as a leverage (you never know what can happen in this situation) as you can see on the second image. After spending 3 hours between building the tower up to get to the height we wanted and then setting up the portal and frame of what would become our base we decided to leave the rest for the next day. We only never expected for everything to have disappeared by the next day. Everything was gone and we couldn’t believe it. Everything but some tiles that spawned randomly here and there. I thought that maybe since we were so high up the system was taking its time to recognize all pieces so I left my character sitting around afk on one of the tiles for almost two hours in hopes that everything would be back sooner or later, nothing happened though.

After laughing out of frustration for a bit we were trying to figure out what and why it happened and I came up with two possibilities that make sense in my mind:

1- It came to my attention that the Multiplayer plays a big part as a factor for bugs in constructions. So maybe that was the cause of it.

2- Maybe because we were so high up none of the pieces were registered since there was nothing touching the ground and maybe, just maybe,...

PS5 VR2 - Galaxy Map: Question about Free Explore [Free Explore Via the VR2 Headset]

Again, this is w the VR2 HEADSET. Having a hard time navigating the Galaxy Map, especially in FREE EXPLORE. For instance, with a controller I can use a portal to get to within 5,000 of the galaxy core then go to the map and zoom in to the system closest to the core and warp there, but I'm finding that impossible for me atm in vr2. I can get to 5000 of the center but from there its kind of a mess. I cant see the center to zoom into it and the zoom itself is pretty slow, so I feel like im missing something critical here. I've seen a lot of people struggling with free explore with theVR2 but havent found any good answers given, so maybe there isnt one I dunno, figued it was worth a shot.

Technician stuck in floor [Bug]

I built an exocrsft room in freighter. Hired tech, but I couldn't call exicraft to planet. I deleted the room and rebuilt it. And it works! Great. But my technician had a task for me which was to build a radar on the craft. Completed that. But now I am trying to talk to technician and he is in between the living area and the ship bay. Can't see him can't reach him. Reloaded the game, no good. Any tips? Can I delete a quest line or reset it by chance?

Child of Aquarius [Question]

I have 6 or 7 of these in inventory now, and they don't stack. After summoning and defeating the Deep Sea Defender, and unlocking the subsequent helmet reward, what do y'all do with these? Widest possible hauler wingspan? [Question]

I've been farming haulers for wings to see which is the widest. I originally thought the ultralith wings were the widest, but it turns out that the bulker s-wings and widebody fan-wing are both slightly wider, with the widebody fan-wing having the widest wingspan of anything I've salvaged so far. Has anyone attempted to farm and compare the dimensions of all the hauler wings to see which is the widest from wingtip to wimgtip?

Question about DPS [Question]

Hello! I just got back into No Man's Sky and I'm working on making a ship with as high damage as possible. Currently I have a starship with 4 supercharge slots in a T shape and I'm able to reach roughly 116k DPS. After watching this video by Hero2U, I went out and obtained a new ship with 4 supercharge slots in a square. As explained in his video, this is to get a greater buff with the adjacency bonus. Hero2u appears to reach 250k DPS in his video but when I organize my mods in the same arrangement I only achieve 117k DPS? I also have 3 perfect X Class mods with +15% Fire Rate, +13% Heat Dispersion, and +6% damage. Here are screenshots of the ships and their arrangements if they are needed. I also transferred the x class tech mods from Ship 1 to Ship 2. Not sure if that makes a difference. Any ideas of how I can obtain 250K DPS?

How to make a runaway mould farm? [Question]

I finally took the time to find some runaway mold after seeing a bunch of stuff about people having farms for nanites. But I never really found out the specific requirements for that. I assume the mould respawns in the same place consistently, but my patch I found was partially in some rocks, which made it more tedious to farm, and on some really weird terrain. Does the original terrain need to be there for it to respawn? Or does it work if I leveled it? I know I basically just build a fence around the area and plop a base down next to it, but are there other details I should know?

Fellow Travelers, what's the point of it all? [Question]

So I picked this game up when it first launched and dabbled with it over the years but never really stuck with it. Recently I started a survival playthrough and fell in love with it, I've completed the three main story quest lines in the most recent expedition. I have a thriving settlement, close to a billion units, a dreadnought and a couple s tier ships.

I guess I'm just wondering what the overarching goal is now other than exploration for its own sake. I did refuse the Atlas which I regret so making it to the core seems to be the idea but without the struggle of early game I guess I just lost some drive. Figured I'd reach out to the community because everyone I've met through this game so far has been awesome and wanted to hear y'all thoughts!

Ideas to expand on Racial Multitools (Korvax already got special treatment how about the others?) details below. [Suggestion]

So we have the Korvax/Autophage Multitools from Korvax monoliths/autophage camps respectively.

How about something special pertaining to the other races: Gek and Vykeen?

Here's my ideas:

Gek: First Spawn Weaponry

Multitools able to be dug up at location revealed by gek monoliths.

Look like they're made from cannibalized korvax pieces and have extremely powerful (and resource expensive) ranged multitool weapons unique to them (like say a homing rocket launcher, or pocket version of Minotaur Cannon, or bring back the Incinerator or some such)

you can use the weapons on the found MT or can take the weapon off for your preferred multitool with the "Store Technology" function. Though in this case destroys the MT unless it's your only one. Heavily damaged (every slot) when first dug up.

Vy'keen: Vy'keen warrior arms

MT tools with A MELEE WEAPON (tech that changes your MT's model when equipped already exists with the fishing gear so the code exists).

Weapons have extremely high damage to offset danger of getting close. Maybe for a bit of balance sentinels now have a new pointblank electrocute attack added to them (high damage and stuns you half second. Adds a risk to melee combat)

New lightweight simple melee system for new weapons

Melee button is light attack for lower damage but comes out quickly. Has simple one-two repeating combo.

Use button is chargeable heavy attack. High damage and extreme knockback+stun at full charge

Melee Dash (Melee plus jump. The boost jump thing that went from bug to implemented feature) lunges with weapon unleashing fullcharged heavy on stop

Can be paired with personal forcefield to block and cloaking device for single heavy sneak attack (puts cloaking device on cooldown until it's full again)

Can you glitch a floor center underneath this? [Question]

I finally got my Electromagnetic Field Generator in the center of this hotspot underwater... bad news, I don't have a floor to center under it. I spent about 3 hours trying to center a floor then Cashe Glitching a EFG to the floor, with it being slightly off-center every time. Is there a way to center a floor under this EFG at all?

Freighters - I wish we could make our own missions for them [Question]

Specifically, I'm looking for my perfect home planet (not a boring paradise planet), and it's taking forever. Meanwhile I've got a fleet of freighters just piling up geodesite and psychonic eggs. What I really want to do is tell them to go out and explore the galaxy, sending me back reports and photos of the planets they find

In case any travellers have already found what I'm looking for - very low sentinel activity, rolling hills, autumnal colour palette, alien looking trees, amazing sunsets, fauna not too weird, water, maybe bioluminescent grass/plants at night. I found one on one of the expeditions that that looked ideal, covered in fields of golden grass but I've never found it again

I can’t access the log of the sunken ship [Question]

So I just started playing again after a few months and am trying to complete the expedition. I have located the crashed sunken freighter and the mission even says I’ve found it and I need to access the log of the doomed freighter. The problem is nothing happens when I scan it or float around the ship. Do I need to drop a beacon or build something? The system isn’t abandoned, made that mistake already, so if anyone can help me I would be very grateful

Help my Alien ship is now a fighter [Bug]

Support won't answer me, it's been 2 weeks now.

I did the Main Quest on PS5 where you get ported away and have to find your ship, can't call it or stuff. I played it in Multiplayer, while my buddy had a marker to find his ship on the planet, there didn't pop one up for me - I had no ship standing on the planet, so I called the ship I used during this quest, my Alien Ship. To my surprise, it has changed form to a fighter and I wasn't able to reload an older safe state where the ship was still Alien. Sadly I only have this screenshot, I would've need to dig to find a pic of how it used to be, and I haven't had it for too long. I still want it back tho, I grinded so many hours for it T-T

Went into a gek observatory yesterday and after going through two of the atlas key doors found this! Can't find the last fauna at Tessya, during the Titan mission? [Question]

Asking on here since I'm sure many of you have been to this same planet. In the second phase, on the black and white moon Tessya, there's a single underwater creature I can't find. No oceans, so I've been searching lakes and the rare underground waterways. I saw the red dots once, but they disappeared, and I was on land, so it didn't make sense. Since then, I haven't seen them at all.

I am so a** in this game. How does one disclaim a broken starship? [Question]

I have this one starship that I was planning to sell but forgot that it needed to be fixed at the very minimum that it can fly. I don't know where it is now. I can't summon it and now it's just stuck in my supposed-to-be awesome roster of starships, sticking out like a chunk of crap hanging on butt hair.

Droid Planets [Question]

YouTube is no help. Those videos just show you a Portal Address to a planet that's infested with Bases.

Or they spend 60% of the video on things that have absolutely nothing to do with the Title. Which, BTW is typical for any type of YT video. lol

Is there a solid way to find these Droid Planets? To my understanding they're in Uncharted Systems.

Autophage missions bug? [Question]

Hi,

I havent played in a while ad Ive finished the main missions and want to get into all the autophage stuff. I finished the Trace of metal, purge, and artemis missions and I have the "space anomaly: explore new reality" and "New beginnings: A new galaxy awaits" primary missions but i cannot get that purple space station to appear to start that questline. I got a autophage camp scanner things from killing the walkers on dissodent planets but for some reason cannot get the 'those how returned' or 'stellar multitudes' missions...

Is this a bug? or did i miss something.

Red system [Question]

Is there anything special to do in red systems? I have visited multiple red systems and found nothing there. There are no life forms in those systems, and at least based on my exploration, there doesn't appear to be anything different about them. Does anyone know if there is something unique about these systems?

Cross-save bug? Planetary seed differences between PS5 and Switch. Bug? [Bug]

I have completed the latest Expedition and now continuing the save which is now a Normal mode save. During the expedition I built an underwater base on the aquatic planet of Adtow. I built the base on my PS5 Pro. When I play the same save on my Switch the area is far deeper and my base is hanging in the middle of the ocean half way between the surface and the bottom of the ocean. The entire surroundings are completely different to the location on PS5.

I have reported this bug to Hello Games.

I wondered if anyone else has experience of seed discrepancy between platforms?

What is the point of cross-save if the seeds of planets can be totally different? I guess there is a possibility its not a seed related bug but rather a coordinate calculation bug and my base is actually being spawned in a different place on the planet?

Got so scared when I thought it was resetting the entire game because it had this cutscene that was absolute cinema. Just got back from reloading a restore point because all my tech was broken. What is resetting the simulation for and what is the benefit of going to a new galaxy?

Can electromagnetic generators power underwater bases? [Question]

Can anyone please help me? I found an awesome underwater cave so I built a base computer with a portal and landing pad (all underwater) then found a power hotspot on land above 800u away. I Built a base computer halfway between (400u) then built the electromagnetic generator on the hotspot (B class/73%) and finally ran multiple connecting wires from the generator to the portal at my base but it says "insufficient power".

The Anomaly landing glitch [Discussion]

Hi, I'm a newbie and have played for around 12 hours. I was landing in the Space Anomaly when my ship 'crashed' during the auto-landing sequence, flew through the anomaly, and kept flying uncontrollably through space. I thought, alright, bug, and reloaded the last saved game. After that, I landed normally and went to see Nada. Nada asked if I was okay, mentioning that Polo had just detected my arrival, but that a strange anomaly had accompanied my approach. I believe the previous glitch during landing, which forced the game to reload, wasn't a bug, but a glitch in the simulated universe and great foreshadowing.

Is an ocean a necessity? I’m building my main base on a deathly green anomaly planet one that’s featured in the community bases, so it’s always got activity. I’ve got everything I need here: a solid base, farms, silver, ammonia, radon you name it. But there’s no water. I don’t usually go in the ocean anyway, but will I eventually miss it?

NMS: Is My Happy Place [Discussion]

I play a lot of video games of all genres. I just finished Sniper Elite Resistance. Before that, I finished Disco Elysium. My To Do pile is very large, and I have been struggling to decide if I want to play the new Kingdom Come game, Avowed, and any number of other new releases, but I had a hankering for a survival game.

I have a Valheim server, which is great, but at the end of the day, I'm back in No Man's Sky. It's just my happy place. I think one of the main reasons is that it is so freakin' big that I don't personally feel the need to worry about doing all the side quests, collecting all the doo dads, finding the "best build", etc. I know I can do some of those things here, but I just like to go zap some rocks and fly in space. Bliss.

So, I am back! And I can't wait to see all the new additions and changes since I left.

New to the game: Now what? [Question]

Hello, I just started the game last week after being told about it for years and I'm glad I did. I previously tried it a couple times and couldn't get past the first half hour but this time I powered through and fell in love.

I'm just not sure what I'm supposed to be doing.

I've gone to the space anomaly, I know to visit the space stations to get the suit upgrades, I'm selling things marked for trade. But I'm not sure what I'm actually supposed to be doing. Will I be getting better equipment through the quests or are the quests only meant to get me money and materials to obtain my own from the space station?

Is there any place to get an explanation as to what the various stats even mean?

Also, I keep seeing people mention selling other ships at the space station but I can't figure out how that works. How do you get the other ship and how do you sell it? Near as I can tell, I've never seen an opportunity to do either. I repaired one ship on a planet and a little lizard dude flew off in it.

Request for more entirely optional difficulty settings [Discussion]

I know this has been argued in the community for years now. Is the game too easy? Its not. A combat game. There’s no challenge. Its meant to be relaxing. On and on.

Personally i would fall into the camp of those wanting some more challenging aspects in the game, purely for my own immersion/engagement. But i digress.

My solution for HG would be to add to the game’s difficulty sliders/setting over time. Add to the galaxy/system modifiers over time. And add to the bestiary over time.

This game is amazing - and it should always be able to be played however the player wants. It CAN be a relaxing exploration game. It CAN be a mild survival crafting game. And it SHOULD also be able to have some level of challenge as well.

Id like to have increased survival aspects. You can already harvest food from animals… why not add a hunger bar/system.

Water exists on some planets (and in the air/gasses), why not add a thirst bar/system.

Extreme weather exists, but it is easily avoided or tanked on all settings. Why not have the ability to crank this? Make me fear an impending rad storm.

Combat while… ok… is very simple. Why not add settings or galaxy modifiers to enhance encounters? Chance to encounter up to x hostile freighters at once. Pirate inhabited planets (pirate npcs/outposts on planets). More sentinel unit types. More hostile ship types. Etc. more underwater enemies. More large enemies (like the worms on some planets. Way more predatory fauna.

There is so much that could be adjusted to a) make “survival “ in this game more immersive, and/or b) make combat more engaging, c) and/or add elements of risk to the gameplay loop… and it could all be entirely optional with no additional rewards tied to it.

I just hope they consider these aspects of the game moving forward - in a purely optional sense - because this game really...

Floating Island Swamp [Screenshot]

Finally found a floating island planet with a swamp biome. Must’ve been a new type added in the worlds 2 update, since I never found one before until i got to this purple star system. I knew Tropical planets were capable of having a swamp biome, so i was hoping to find a floater swamp planet on one of those… found this one on a cloudy planet. Egg Sequencer Recolors: Helmet Crabs [Information]

So I just thought I'd share this in case anyone might be interested, because I'm absolutely obsessed with these new helmet crabs. The recolor charts didn't seem to be giving me the results I was hoping for, so I started just testing stuff to see what I'd get. The screenshot obviously isn't all of the crabs I got, maybe I'll make a chart with all of the screenshots I took later, but I wanted there to be examples to go with the list.

Colors might not be completely accurate, sometimes I couldn't tell what a color was exactly on the screen, but you get the gist anyhow. Also, some crabs don't have that fringe color, they're just Helmet/Shield(Visor)/Skin.

Getting Carried Away with Exotics [Screenshot]

I guess I just didn't know when to quit. I admit it, I have a problem.

Two of these ships were retrieved via portal coordinates from r/NMSCoordinateExchange — the royal V-wing at extreme left, and the royal with mini-wings that is second-from-right. All the rest were found during my explorations.

The bright fluorescent-yellow squid is native to a pirate-controlled system with my all time favorite paradise planet. The darker yellow one simply came in to land at a space station while I was puttering around.

The blue and red guppies came from deliberate stakeouts at trading posts, just to see what kind of random exotic would eventually show up.

After I came back from my portal excursion with the V-wing (it was a long, long wait for that ship to appear), I was inspecting it in the space station and wondering where to begin upgrades when I heard the unmistakable sound of another exotic coming in to land! It was the royal ship with side boosters that you see at extreme right. It's native to that system, but even though I'd had a major base there for a long time (on a paradise moon!) I hadn't ever seen it before.

Window's triple chime of Death [Bug]

Huge fan of the game. In over 150 hours or so. Would have out more time in but I have an issue.

I use the Steam client to access the game. My laptop can easily play it on great settings. But the big issue is between start up and the loading into the world. Between me clicking PLAY and my character appearing on screen, I get the Do-duh-do chimes often associated with Windows requesting permission for changes. No window pops up, but the game crashes. Now, this happens 50% of the time. Sometimes I just restart the computer and try again, and it works. But, about 25% of the time, that doesnt work out. I exist in terror between PLAY and Load.

What are the possibilities? And heres the thing: I have no clue about PCs. I cant quantize the inner bios matrix to adjust for the DXL trace RVCs or some wild computer lingo stuff. I cant sit here and make changes to the Config to redirect memory form the HHCCCEEE to the CMOS inverter for the Graphics mainframe particle accelerator. I just cant. Tried that kind of stuff once and had to reformat. AND if I needed to update the mainframe boot bus of the graphics card, then why does my game work most of the time, some of the time? I get it! but damn.... Open to hearing all about it, but I'm not sure what I can actualize.

Any help would be great cuz the game is fun and chill. I need more of that in my life.

Question about Cuboid rooms [Question]

I like building with the glass cuboid rooms (NMS is a gorgeous game - if I'm building somewhere beautiful I want to be able to see it even if I'm inside, right?) But this weekend I had two envrionmental hazards "leak" inside them.

First was underwater - I was building with a friend, and the room I was in (glass cuboid) would "splash" me whenever I walked through it. The area was sealed, but one section I would spashing water and my screen would get water passing over it like when you exit water.

The second was at my gas giant base. I was inside (again, glass cuboid rooms) watching a tornado when suddenly I got slammed against the wall and then tossed around for 20 or 30 seconds. The entire area was sealed (closed doors in a different part of the base) and I wasn't taking any environmental damage, but I was being pushed around as if I was caught in the tornado.

Is this an effect of the cuboid rooms (maybe a bug) or has anyone experienced it in (eg) the deepwater prefabs or the non-prefab (eg. stone/wood/alloy) buildings?

Why does this happen? More importantly, how does one fix it? [Question]

Happens on my XBOX OneS and SeriesX. Seems to happen at random. Used to think it was because my OneS was getting long in the tooth, but then it happened almost immediately when I got the Series X. If I can manage to switch to another viewpoint (i.e. from being on foot to in a ship) it usually goes away, until I go back to the original viewpoint. It happens fairly infrequently, but when it does it's pretty annoying.

A reboot fixes it. Restarting the game also fixes it. Both of those feel a bit extreme, maybe there's an easier or faster way?

Can’t Launch NMS in Ps4 VR [Bug]

I’ve tried to launch No Mans Sky with the original PSVR on the ps4 version of the game on my ps5, only to be met with either the game crashing or for it to be frozen on a white screen with the title of the game plastered in the middle.

I’ve searched everywhere on the internet for answers, and have tried solutions from, turning off my duelshock controller, and launching the game with only my VR headset and move controllers while in VR mode, to reinstalling the game, restarting my console, and reconnecting the entire set up from the ground up.

I honestly am confused as to what is going on because my other VR games seem to be working just fine. If anyone has a solution I’d really appreciate it, been really craving this game in VR.

I just completed Expedition 17 and at the end received my first living ship. I’m only about 125 hours in and loose track of time exploring and building easily so I haven’t even finished the main story. A while back someone in the Anomaly gifted me a bunch of eggs. I didn’t know what they were for but I kept them in storage. I now realize they are what I need to improve my new ship. To who ever gave me these thank you!

Is PVP even a ready option? Am I breaking a rule by doing it? Sometimes I’m flying my ship and I see a player on a planet below me and my finger caresses the trigger. It would be so easy…is that like not ok in this game?

Mods no longer working on my PCVR setup [Question]

Been playing since I per-ordered the game on PS3. Been modding it for years, but all of a sudden after last update nothing works. No mod warning, nothing. I've tried manual install and verified all the files are correctly installed in NMS mods folder. Anyone else having any issues with PC mods? Mostly I just hate the jet pack. I miss flying like superman.

Really love the passive Frigate missions, but I wish there was more! [Suggestion]

The passive Frigate Fleet in NMS has been consistently my favorite little side thing to check in on, even if I don't feel like sinking in a few hours to play. I think this dates back to my first interactions with the Assassin's Creed: Black Flag fleet minigame! Ironically I'm running a pirate Capital ship now. Either way, I wish they would just... give us more! Specifically difficulties. I get that there's a cap so you can always be two above, meaning your ships will never be damaged... BUT CMON, GIVE ME A LITTLE SPICE AND DRAMA. Let it be my little space action movie okay?!

I've just completed the Titan Expedition. I flew to the Space Anomaly on the start ship, then finished the expedition, now I can get my living ship. At the expedition terminal I can only copy my start ship. What can I do this situation? Is there any way to get my living ship?

Sentinel Ship swapped to Living Ship after Ghosts in the Machine [Bug]

I just entered my first portal during the quest "Ghosts in the Machine", after answering Apollo's call. I park my beautiful and newly acquired Sentiel Ship just in front of the portal, and I walk in. After the meeting with the Atlas, I get teleported to a random planet. There, rather than looking for my ship, I summon it.

Well, instead of my Sentinel, a living ship gets summoned in front of me. The inventory is the same as I left in my Sentinel ship, but it's just a other ship with another name. Is this canon? Is there a way to fix it and have back my Sentinel ship?

More Ship Interior Decorations [Suggestion]

I would absolutely love more ship interior decorations, the figures are cute but we could have so much more. Lanyards, charms, interior stickers, even using the anomaly iterations as new figures, hell even just being able to change the interior color scheme. And while I’m at it I’d also like to be able to see my arms/body inside on console

So apparently meteor showers can happen [Discussion]

I was working on my island base when I received a notification about an incoming meteor showers. I was confused and thought maybe I heard wrong before my base is suddenly being hit with space artillery….I did NOT know space bombardment via meteors was thing! Hit my base several times and nearly killed me. I had time to take one pic before I was running for cover

Performance on UHD 620? [Question]

Hey all!

Steam sale is on and I'm trying to decide which games to pick up.

Are the seas in the expeditions bugged? [Bug]

I've been having a rough time finding the aquatic life on the moons of the gas giant. The first one, I found all but one, which I assume needed to be found in a deep area, but I couldn't find one.

So I went to the next moon, and it has many aquatic creatures, and many areas that look like they should be lakes or rivers, but there is no water except in the cavern parts. And the creatures don't spawn there. I found one actual lake, and all the water is maybe a foot tall, so no creatures.

Is this bugged due to them expanding the planet sizes or something? Has anyone else had success finding all the fauna in this system?

Messed up - lost the Wraith [Answered]

Hi all, super noob here. Titan was the first expedition that I participated in, mostly because I figured that I have gathered a bit of experience in the game at this point and liked the Wraith's design.

All went well, except from the transferring of the stuff. I stupidly switched to my starter ship to empty its inventory in the transfer panel in the anomaly. However, I didn't know that I have to switch back to the Wraith in order to be able to transfer it to my main save.

So now I have no idea how to reclaim my lost Wraith.

Is it reversible? Can I complete the expedition again? :

Settlements [Question]

So i have the starter settlement, if thats what it was called, the very first one you find, anyways i was wondering if, its possible to find a better settlement than mycurrent B class one, i legit just got it to the point where its starting to clear the 1.5 mil of debt, producing 300k a day while costing 250k to maintain. So not the greatest i guess, but i have put alot of work into it, but i HATE the planet its on and its with the korvax, i want a vykeen or gek settlement, i just like the look of them better but not sure if its worth tossing this settlement for the one i found on a better planet, its in very poor condition making like under 50k a day. Would like to see other peoples opinions on this?

Question about getting the freighter I want! [Question]

Hi friends!

It has been a LONG time since I last played and am starting up a new character. I am at the point where I want my freighter so have refreshed myself on the spawn conditions, 5 warps, 3 hour timer, no black hole etc. etc.

So my question is, if I continuously warp into the same system (T3 economy, Korvax) will that trigger the freighter battle, and does it matter what sort of system it is in terms of which freighter I get?

Ideally looking to get the sentinel type one that is inspired by WH40k at it's largest size. Not overly fussed on class, I don;t mind upgrading it to S class and losing a little bit of stats by doing so, I just want my pretty ship!

Newbie VR questions [Question]

Hello everyone, I have a few more questions but these are related to the VR version of the game this time

I was quite looking forward to getting the exocraft but I've got four different ones now and they're either vomit inducing or pretty useless.

The Roamer and the Nomad are okay if you're on a flat surface but trying to drive around a hilly planet is like being inside a washing machine. There was one introductory mission where you have to race to an outpost before the timer ran out and decided to walk back home afterwards in case I threw up in my helmet. I thought I had quite good VR legs but this had made me question that. Is there anyway to iron out the bumpyness at all?

The colossus and the minotaur aren't too bad to drive but I can't mine anything. The weapons seem to fire in roughly the direction you're pointing your head but they get caught up on bits of the body of the vehicle. So in the Colossus the laser in on top of the vehicle, meaning if you try to mine something in front of you it just his the cab. You need to be a long way from something and ideally be pointing downhill to mine it. Which makes it somewhat pointless.

Also, when I'm in the vehicle, if another person sees me, my character half hanging out the body of it (which my kids find quite funny) but I take climate damage (toxicity etc.) from seemingly being outside the vehicle. Am I doing something wrong?

Haven't tried the submarine yet, hopefully that's a bit smoother.

Are there any mods or anything that make them a bit easier to use, or even let you play in 3rd person when using an exocraft? Or if I just don't use the ground based vehicles will I miss out on anything?

Next question is about cockpits. Is there a list of which vehicles or more accurately hulls, have unique cockpits at all? For instance the fighter cockpit has a couple of internal designs but there's nine external types of fighter...

Constant Lagging/Stuttering [Question]

I've tried every fix on the internet. Changing the threads settings, background processes, etc. My specs are:

xeon e3-1535m v6

32 gb ram

Quadro p5000

It gets 60 fps and then every couple of seconds there's a massive stutter. Not to mention landing, exiting the ship, exiting the planet, basically anything. It didn't use to be like this. What's odd is that it runs perfectly on the steam deck.

Does anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this? I run pretty much any other game perfectly fine.

Stuck in a loop and a few additional new player questions. [Question]

I am trying to progress down the expedition pathway, but it keeps bouncing me back and forth between 2 systems (I did this 3 or 4 times because I am dense). My Atlatian (sp) drive is broken so I can't proceed to the next system. Problem is, that I can't get the mats needed to repair the drive in the systems I have access to... any suggestions?

I just started playing and my expedition save was started from scratch.... 3 questions

  1. when the expedition ends will I stay on the same planet I end on or will I be thrown somewhere random since I am not returning to a save.

  2. the number of POI markers makes it difficult to find things some times... so if I build here, will I slowly have to warp one system at a time to get to a place where I am not around a ton of other players?

  3. I went to the anomaly for the first time (super cool) and I went to the big orb where you can do quests to get quicksilver... except I couldn't do any because it required a group... Question is... do people do these quests in the expedition, and if so, is anyone interested in showing my the ropes on how to run them? I am playing on a ps5 btw.
