I'm about 50ish hours in on Xbox and have gotten a lot of help from the community and want to try to give back a little.

Need nanites or units? I might be able to help. Lose a multi tool? Might have answers. Need a better ship? Can point you the right way. Need more resources from mining? There's a solution.

No Man's Sky Screen Flickers and Shows Windows Desktop When Clicking Mouse - Behavior Doesn't Persist when Using Controller [Bug]

Hello,

I have a bug in No Man's Sky where the screen will flicker and show the OS desktop + taskbar briefly. It's quite distracting and especially prevelant when in a menu of any kind, but the problem does exist in normal gameplay. The game also has an occasional hitch, almost looks like the frametime is spiking? Haven't graphed it yet. No other game on my system has this issue. I've tried switching the game to borderless, bordered, and fullscreen. Bordered showed the least amount of the flicker because the taskbar was already present I suppose, lol. I've also tried lowering all settings as well as my resolution. My framerate isn't the issue here, but theorized maybe it was a graphic settings causing the issue. It doesn't seem to be. I guess I'm asking if anyone has ran into this and if there's any pointers I can take to investigate this? This is on a fresh install of Windows 11, fresh GPU drivers (removed the old one with DDU), and fresh system drivers through my motherboard vendor's software (too lazy to get them manually, but can do that if someone thinks it'll help...not sure how it would, same file but I digress). I haven't tried running the game in Safe Mode yet, but that might be my next step.

Gigabyte B550I Aurous Pro AX

ASUS TUF RTX 3080

64GB DDR4 RAM @ 3600 Mhz, CAS 16 latency

Boot: Dual WD Black 1TB, Raid 0

Other: Dual 2TB 2.5" SSD, Raid 0

I don't believe the system is thermal throttling as temps never raise above 77 C on the CPU package and 71 C on the GPU Core, per Open Hardware Monitor. Forgot to take a snippet of the Unigine Heaven results, but Cinibench below. Seems to be in line....

Atlantis Drive Needed to Reach Euclid Core?? [Spoilers] [Question]

I recently started The Purge and am trying to get to the galactic core, following the “Galactic Core” path on the galaxy map. Unfortunately, the path takes me to a system that requires an Atlantid Drive. I thought it wasn’t possible to obtain an Atlantid Drive until after the main story is completed. Should I just try to find a way around this system, or…?

Found ship disappeared [Bug]

After a years long break I decided to give the game another play. Starting new was difficult but going ok. I found a class A ship , built a base by it and claimed the ship. I was repairing it - slowly. I log in today and the ship is gone. I have no idea where it went or how to find/recover it. There was a lot of time (and units) spent gathering materials. Any way to fix/find it?

How to find your other ships [Question]

Hello, I just started this game hours ago, so forgive my ignorance. I found a second ship and repaired it, flew around but didn't realize the becon for your ship only applys to the one you last flew. I went to summon my old ship cause all my valuable inventory is there, but didn't realize it was out of fuel so it's stuck somewhere in the wild.

Is there a way to force summon it or to set a becon on it so I can fly back to it?

Sentinel ship hunting? [Question]

A month ago I deleted everything because the game was boring. I was too rich. I had to reset the simulation. I just got to the Atlantean Systems last night and noticed sentinel ship hunting has gotten way harder. Am I missing something? My multi tool doesn’t find Autophage camps anymore, just hangouts? I can’t interact with a computer reliably to get dissonance spikes.

I tried to farm a few this afternoon and I have to kill 5 waves of dissonant sentinels, then I might get a dissonant spike, and still only get sent to a Autophage hangout.

After 3 years of not playing the game,

How do I defeat Sentinel drones? [Discussion]

I was able to destroy a Sentinel Capital ship and now it gave me coordinates to this destroyed Sentinel starship that I'm trying to fixing. I've read that to fix the last component, you'd need some stuff, one of which can only be found if you use an Echo Locator which can only be obtained by fighting Sentinel drones. I don't know how to defeat these things if they keep healing each other. The first wave of them being just two was okay since I can alternately deal damage to them. but THREE?? And now I'm finding out I need to defeat this quadruped Sentinel that only arrives at the third wave. And not only that, I've only read before that you'd have to kill the drones until one of them eventually drops an echo locator... i have been killing them for the past hour on and off, without knowing you'd have to get to the third wave... None of my hits matter by the time the second wave hits... How tf do I do this? And somehow the bigger space battles were easier.

Hostile Players [Question]

I have generally had great experiences with the community in this game whether it’s been on the Anomaly, space stations, or other planets, but has anyone experienced a player going out of their way to kill you? I was doing a mission in a solar system with plenty of other players and one would not stop killing me when I was just doing my mission.

Help! Nms won't launch on steam [Question]

Hi, my friends game won't open, can someone help please!

"i have nms on steam and on the xbox game pass. I had it installed on steam, tried to run it, and it opened up, showed a white screen for maybe a second, and then closed again immediately. I verified my files on steam, reinstalled it completely on steam, then uninstalled it from steam and installed it on xbox game pass, and had the exact same issue. so i uninstalled it from xbox game pass again, then installed it back on steam. still had the same problem. submitted a ticket maybe two or three weeks ago now, still haven't gotten a response from Hello Games, and the problem persists. I launch it, it opens up, white screen for a second, and it closes"

Hey can some explain this [Question]

I've noticed a ship that seems to follow me everywhere I go. I've managed to destroy a few of them, but a new one always appears whenever I warp or move quickly. It keeps teleporting right in front of me, and it's becoming increasingly irritating. Can someone explain what's going on? Helios is not refreshing every day? [Question]

I know Helios is supposed to give you the option to provide him with new data in exchange for nanites every day. It worked the first day I played on this save, and hasn't worked again for over a week now. Has anyone else experienced this recently? Does anyone know how to fix it? I tried Googling a solution but only came up with answers for when he's bugged during a quest, which isn't the issue.

No Save Game at all [Bug]

I used to have a PS4 and played No Man’s Sky on it. In the meantime, I sold the PS4, and now 2–3 years have passed. I’ve now bought a PS5 and logged in with the same PSN account I used on the PS4. I’ve downloaded both the PS4 and PS5 versions of No Man’s Sky on my PS5. However, my old save data wasn’t available on either the PS4 version or the PS5 version. I was able to download cloud data from 2020 through the PS5 menu and transfer it to the game, but there was no save from back then — I don’t have any worlds.

Yes, you may make more units per time spent doing interceptor salvaging. Or derelict Freighter runs (maybe). Or smuggling runs. But... If you are starting a new game and happen to be in a system that has ancient bones or salvageable scrap, the minotaur is pretty handy at doing those runs. Not to mention ridiculously easy to get early game.

Location of Autophage Prime system [Question]

Quest name is: Atlantid Monolith: Planet Apore XII

The quest, when selected, states I need to be in another galaxy to find Apore XII in the Autophage Prime system.

The quest does not give me a path to follow while I am in the Warp/Galaxy map and have selected Destination > Current Mission.

Moving between Euclid and Eissentam does not change that message.

Do I need to go to a third galaxy? And if so how do I tell if that third galaxy has the quest destination?

How do you make the freighter base dark? [Question]

I just started doing the trick where you build technically outside on the freighter with scaffolding but surround it with rooms to make it feel like one big area. In videos and other people's screenshots the bases always looked really dark, and I've even heard people say it's that dark in game, but mine is bright as day. How can I make it darker? I tried using all sorts of things as a roof, but nothing changed it.

So I’m trying to get to Eissentam galaxy and I am at the edge of the Eltiensleen Galaxy 3087 Light years away I’ve jumped before to a new galaxy so I know that I need a full warp drive I have that along with all the correct technologies to get to any system including purple but it’s not letting me go to the center to head to Eissentam what am I doing wrong or is this a glitch or bug ? Do you remember my deckmaster's ship? That white royal exotic that gives that very specific vibe where you assume that the owner must have a really small beak or something? Yeah, that one is off to the shop for at least 5 weeks now, and a lot of units will go to that Korvax dude with the spraying equipment.

Why? Well, let's just say that Enningsu had decided that he wanted his nose really deep in the deckmaster's ass or whatever the parrots have in their trousers. So this idiot came up with the idea that powdered Atlantideum must be great for cleaning starships. Don't even ask me how that moron came up with this idea, I don't care and I won't pretend to be surprised in the least. We are talking about the guy who thought that fireberries would make a good garnish for a cocktail. The one who tried to sharpen a ritual dagger with a plasma grinder. The dude who can't for his life understand the difference between 3C and 2A. It's Enningsu, OF COURSE he came up with that kind of shit.

Well, I was in the privileged situation of being able to watch the moron fill a sandblaster with fine-ground Atlantideum. I might have been on a chair on the upper deck and there's a rumour that popcorn was involved. Well, anyway, I was watching while the paint flew off the deckmaster's pride and joy like shit speckles from a Vy'Keen ass after a fireberry cocktail. It was a sight to behold. And suddenly I smell peaches... Only for a very short time, though. Then I saw a furious Gek with a trail of not-so-peachy scent behind him racing towards Enningsu's paint removal activity.

Trust me, that was simply the best. Enningsu grinning all over his dumb face, proud like the Atlas himself, expecting high praise - and the dumb parrot coming at him in full first spawn mode. It's surprising what frequencies Tweety can project. Impressive, really. And I simply have to show you...

I messed up… [Question]

Just completed the Artemis line and reset the simulation.

Woke up in the new galaxy and needed to repair everything obviously. I flew up and summoned the Anomaly for a couple of things. Well, being half asleep I teleported directly to my freighter without putting a portal down on the planet.

Have I lost access to that galaxy permanently?

Overlapping Opposites [Screenshot]

With ~700 hours in the game over the last 7 years, there's not a huge amount in this game that surprises me these days, I usually only play after updates (and never for this long I love Worlds 2 so, so much). I've seen Chameleon planets, Diplos, Squid Ships, Robot Worlds, every LMB and GMB you can imagine, and worlds so perfect it'd kill you anyway. And intersecting planets are on that list, but only once, and it may be one of the few things I've never discovered myself. So, imagine my excitement when, not only do I find my golden goose, what I've been waiting to find for years, but they're direct, perfect opposites. An Obsidian Bead and Aquatic World, touching.

Not only that, Aquatic Worlds are hands down my favourite planets, and this ones my favourite kind, no land, entirely 1000u+. I've been sick the last week and I'm so genuinely happy about this find I might be cured.

S-Class Multi-Tool at a Pirate Station – But What Comes Next? [Screenshot]

Exploring the depths of the fifth galaxy, Hyades, I made a stop at a pirate-controlled station to check the multi-tool cabinet. To my surprise, it held a seemingly ordinary multi-tool—but it was S-Class. This got me thinking: what if I could force the tool to change? I’ve yet to find a reliable way to alter the selection inside these cases. Reloading my save just replaces it with another generic S-Class tool. Paradise Planet Coords [Screenshot]

I know this might be weird, but I have coords for a paradise planet with no weather phenomenons.

I’m a newer player, but I keep seeing from time to time player’s disgruntled about not finding their own home world of a “perfect” paradise planet.

I have my own already but I have been passively planet hunting for another good paradise that I can pass to another traveler so they can have their own home.

If anyone is interested I’ll pass along the coords to the first player who comments and they can use the coords as they wish.

(PS I’m not too sure on etiquette on this stuff, I’m just hoping to help out another traveler, so if I’m stepping on toes I apologize)

Ground hog day in the at the boundary [Question]

I’m at the center of a galaxy. I cross over. I’m 3500 light years from the center of the new galaxy. Cross again, back to the one I just left. I summon my freighter and when I cross to a new galaxy, I see it near me. I get told I discovered the systems. So I know I’m not going anywhere. My current system I summoned the anomaly and crossed. I get up to orbit and there’s the anomaly across the system at the last planet I was at. Am I just out of galaxies? Or is there some bug that has me locked into the same places?

Question about Permadeath [Question]

I've just started a new save on Permadeath, my first time, I can already see that the grind is going to be real here.

My question is premature, but thinking ahead a little. Is everything I've found previously, ships etc, all in the same place? So, if I found a ship I liked in normal, will it be on the same planet at the same location? Only difference being getting to that stage is going to be a bigger challenge?

Double reward? [Question]

I finished the Titan expedition and claimed the ship and the staff from the anomaly terminal. Then I went to the reward guy and there was option to claim the ship and the tool again so i did it thinking i missed somthing on the terminal. Now i have two same ships and two same staffs. Is this normal? I guess i just sell one of each.

Long Range Teleport Help [Question]

I'm trying g to make a long-range teleporter to travel from the surface of a deep ocean moon to the bed. The whole thing falls within my base limits and I've chained teleporters together before to extend the range with no issue but for some reason this one will only jump once and stop despite being connected to the next one in the chain.

Anyone have any idea where I might be going wrong?

Rare Underground Creature Finds [Discussion]

Not an expert by any means. I must like torture because I enjoy finding all the fauna. There are a few worlds where I gave up early on and I have no idea where they were to go back so, oh well....

All the things to do and, really, I like finding all the fauna, go figure...

These work well for me BUT aometimes it does take hours...

Go into the cave. Yes, I know that seems the obvious but I have had luck in the very deep caves. These generally look like insects or crabs.

Look for dust ejecting from the gorund, these might be some sort of worm like creatures.

Buildings or artifact areas with caves seem like good places to hang out. Sometimes when a storm comes in or ends, a rare creature seems to spawn. Sunrise or sunset also seems to be a trigger even if the creature is marked as "always active".

Very high mountains or hills. If I find a lot of small minerals that are undiscovered and no vegetation, hanging out here sometimes works. Often these are rodent like or a thing with a tail like a beaver.

Hanging precariously on the sides of steep terrain being ready to blast through with the resource beam when the red dot appears..

Sometimes, there is this octopus looking creature that shows up anywhere but is counted as an underground creature.

Go into a cave and hang out. You might get a red dot which is clearly on the surface. Blast through the terrain using the resource beam.

If the world has agressive Sentinels and you can get a Boundary Map you can shut down the Sentinels and there is usually some underground terrain nearby.

Not 100% and I still rage quit a few of these but I am more successful.

A little off topic but having a ship with aquatic landing and going to deep water seems to work particularly well for the stubborn underwater ones. Maybe the access to the whole water column?

Would be interested in other tactics!

Is it just me or is the psychonic egg rng off since the latest patch? [Bug]

I pretty much ignored living ships before the titan expedition, but I have since recruited some organic frigates to get me those psychonic eggs. It worked out great in the beginning, but since the latest patch I didn't get a single "classed" upgrade, mostly just wormhole brains and chloroplast membranes. Is that a thing or are the gods of rng just hating on me again?

This planet eludes me honestly. There no colour above the surface and the deeper in the ocean you go the more vibrant it gets, or if there's a heated rainstom. You can also get electrical storms and meteor showers. Absolutely zero fauna besides whatever in god's name that is. AND it's classed as a [Redacted] Planet.

Bug after Titan Expedition [Question]

I have a problem, I beg pardon for lacking a few specific terms, but I need some guidance...

For the first time ever (despite playing NMS since 2018) I've done an expedition: TItan. It was fun, I started a new save just for it, played a little in this new save, then from Anomaly onboarded the expedition... Because I don't quite know what is the mechanic, I didn't want to mix with any of my old saves.

After expedition, I've reclaimed my bonuses, and among a few things I've brought back to my regular game, I had this tech (that I brought by accident) the Atlantis drive (something similar), it is the drive that allows us to jump to purple galaxies.

Here lies my issue. I've done that quest line that give steroids to my goliath and finishes with us getting in touch with the lovely blue sentinel. I'm in love with this quest line. During this I've my first sentinel ship. Cool right?

Well, I was cleaning up my garage, and broke one of my ships, the one that was holding the purple drive. I've got myself an egg to hatch for a bioship, just for the sake of doing the whole things (although I've got The Wraith). Currently, my whispering humming egg is pointing me to a purple galaxy. Then, I learnt that I don't know how to create one. I cannot abandon this quest, even if I try destroy, sell give away the egg, it always comes back to my inventory, and not knowing how to build (the recipe) how to create a purple drive, I'm stuck. I cannot get rid from bioship quest, neither travel to know and visit the new worlds in the purple galaxy, and I have no idea on how to start the questline that will teach me the purple drive, The Autophage one, I suppose.

I'm playing on Xbox, and I'm completely disappointed with myself... I've been enjoying my settlement, and I think I'm pretty advanced. I have 3 landing ships and lots of buildings. I've finished Apolo questline, all the guys Apolo put in...

Expedition ship lost? [Question]

Hey guys, just finished my expedition. Got the new ship and right before finishing the expedition, I switched to the default one to transfer some items on the main safe. Then ended the expedition. And now I can only copy my default ship. Is there a way to reclaim the expedition ship? Or did I lost it forever?

What would you tell a long-lapsed player of the game to do to really discover the game again and be able to enjoy all the new features, even if it feels somewhat overwhelming? [Discussion]

I joined this sub as soon as No Man's Sky released back in the day. I remember many people complaining about it not living up to the promises, but I truly enjoyed my first 100 hours playthrough. After I had done what I felt was "enough," I put the game down and haven't played much since then.

I always told myself I'd play again after every new update, but eventually one released, then another, then MANY others. When the "VR" update was released, I tried to play again but found myself frustrated with the controls on the Rift S and I put it back down. Then I tried to play again on a regular file to enjoy the new features, but I felt a little overwhelmed and figured I'd watch some videos to learn, but that just sort of made it worse.

After that, there had been even MORE updates since then, and when I tried to hop on again to try one of the Expeditions, I kept getting immediately owned when I spawned because I had nothing, storms were destroying me, etc. Then, I claimed my pre-order ship and somehow my ship "marker" would never show up on the map, I got lost and could never find it again or summon it back, so I quit. Again, that was probably two big updates ago, maybe even three.

I really want to play again but not even sure what the best way to go about it is. I haven't built a base before, even. What would you tell someone who is basically brand new and you know they will like the game if they can just get by the initial "hump" of starting new? Things to do, things to avoid? Maybe a different game mode to start with? Start with Expedition, stay away from Expedition, etc.?

I'm still playing through Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (incredible journey so far), but I'm itching to get back into space when I finish up KCD2, and I feel...

PS4 version doesn't work anymore? [Question]

So, I've been playing the PS4 version of the game on my PS5 since you can't transfer save data between consoles anymore, and it's been crashing so much, I can't even leave the planet I'm on. It's been an issue over the past month or so every time I try to play it.

Is anyone else having this issue? Does the PS4 version of the game just not work anymore? At this point, would it make more sense to abandon my save data and just make the jump to the PS5 version?

No Man's Sky becomes one of my favorite game. [Screenshot]

First time playing No Man's Sky was in early 2024, got the game from 'sketchy' websites (You know what I mean) and after just few hours of playing it did not hooked me. I feel like this game is too complicated, I have to collect resource, manage my exosuit, and the planet looks not like on Trailer or Youtube video. The tutorial was not completed yet, I didn't even get out from 1st planet I already uninstalled the game.

Fast forward to February 2025, I watch World's Part II trailer and immediately wants to play the game again, so I bought the game on Steam for $11 because if I didn't like it then I can refund it right? Oh and at this point I have a job and start to bought games legitimately.

Tutorial on 1st planet feels too long but I keep playing UNTIL I got my ship repaired and out from the planet. After I started to understand the game mechanics, I . . . .

  • Jumped from one planet to other planet and one time I land on a black and white planet with bubble creature
  • Saw a giant dune sandworm coming out from the ground on another planet
  • Spawn Anomaly and meet with another Travellers (I also got gifted numerous times by them, thanks!)
  • Got my ship bugged when entering Space Anomaly
  • Went into a black hole and teleported far-far away
  • Hunting S-class ships on Space Station
  • Got my first frigate from helping defeating space pirates, sadly it's B-class frigate :(
  • Finishing Expedition 17 and getting my first living ship
  • Going to a deep sea and saw giant sea creatures
  • And yesterday I just finished the game with all secondary mission completed, I choose Eissentam galaxy and build my home on an Earth-like planet

I was right to give No Man's Sky a second chance, this is a...

Need answers for my study [Discussion]

So, for the study I have to come up with a hypothesis and then test it, my hypothesis is that a large majority (more than half) of the people who play nms also played mincraft when they were younger, or still play minecraft today.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

The reasoning behind my hypothesis if you care to read on, is because I think both games scratch a certain itch in the cerebral cortex, building yourself up, creating a lively space to live, upgrading your weapons, developing a better understanding of the universe that surrounds you etc,

Both games are procedural ( granted minecraft wasn't always this way) so it's a different experience time after time.

learning what's going to attack you, what helps you, what you should do on your trips, upgrades to your ship for combat or storage superiority depending on What you as a player want to do.

I think they are similar, on a very very much so larger scale.

I was heading toward an unknown building when my suit suddenly announced "Alert! Volcanic Event Detected!"

The ground erupted in flames. I took to the air with my jetpack but every time I landed I got the same announcement and more flames shooting out of the ground. It only stopped when I entered the building about two minutes later.

Since the last update I've seen a few planets with localized toxic events which can damage you but they were easily avoided and certain didn't chase me like this one did today.

Anyone else never get a response when contacting Hellogames? [Question]

I have sent numerous emails, Facebook messages, even tagging them on Twitter about the fact that even though they stated everywhere that the PS4 to PS5 upgrade would be free regardless if it’s the disk or digital version. I have the ps4 disk version and I have tried every way they said as well as YouTube videos on it and always shows $60. It’s been 5 months since I initially messaged them. What horrible customer service, definitely doesn’t make me want to buy another game from them if they can’t even answer a simple email.

Planetary distress signal charts giving me same location [Question]

Hi all, I’ve been having issues where planetary charts, specifically distress signal ones, have been bringing me repeatedly back to the same location. A few days difference happened between these and Ive used other charts in between without issue. But on day 1, I used some distress signals, one was a freighter crash and another for a ship (life form was there). I resolved them, and on day 2 I plotted more maps and got the same locations, same fix for the ship, and couldn’t loot the freighter because I already had. It’s day 3 now and the same exact thing has happened. Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Any tips for beginners [Question]

I just started no man’s sky and I’m in love with it, the infinite planets and everything, but I want some beginner tips, I’ve unlocked the anomaly and done a few missions, I have not found Artemis but I’m kinda working on it, it’s not my top priority, but i just mainly want beginner tips, maybe where to find stuff, if you can trade with players or what not, things to help me get more stuff easier, all normal things, like how do I get a fully customized space ship, I want one of those, or how to get more money or nanites or what ever they are called, thanks for the help!

Rotate building part in place [Question]

Unless I'm missing something, if I want to rotate a building piece that is already placed, I have to risk never being able to put it back to its original position by clicking on it first to toggle edit, because its angle could be all messed up. Correct?

If there's a tip for fine tuning the angle of a piece that's already placed, I'm all ears! Otherwise, @ HG please please please add rotate on spot feature!

I got someone suggesting to try better planet generation. It looks beautiful, but I assume I wouldn't be able to play with random people. I am not sure how different the experience is, and I also haven't tried modded out yet. Is there some sorta anti cheat that makes me unable to interact online anymore?

I am one of those very grindy players. It’s one of my pet peeves that the actual total count of alien language words isn’t shown till you get there, only perhaps what it would take to get most of the words.

So as of this moment, there are 889 Autophage words, as I can’t learn any more.

Scraping ships doesn’t give units? [Bug]

So all last night (3/8/25) I ran around scraping sentinel ships to make money and get techs. It worked fine.

Now Ive scrapped 3 ships and it will give me techs and ship parts to sell but no units. For example: I scrap a shit for 18mil and let’s say I’m at 10mil. It says when I scrap it it will give me 18mil putting me at 28 but when I look I’m still at 10.

I still get the parts and techs and when I sell items I can still spend and get units but not from salvaging ships. Any ideas?

End Game — God Tier Quest/Adventuring [Discussion]

Nothing I'm going to say is really noteworthy here, and I can't help but believe that Hellogames has to know all this, but It's been sitting in my head for a long time and I just want to let it out.

I have almost no 'gripes' with No Man's Sky, it is my favorite game ever and I still overwhelmingly enjoy it as a game and appreciate it as art.

but "almost no" and "No" are two different things.

My big gripe is lack of meaningful ending/play after a certain point.

I would like there to be, with an ability to avoid it in the game play settings, a sort of nuclear option. I would like there to be a point where things ratchet up and become ultra deadly and endanger any player no matter how established. I would love overwhelming attacks against my freighter, where the alarms go off and I have to go defend the freighter — where NPCs man all my ships and they are ALL in the fight as an extended part of my squadron. AND, if I lose, I would love my freighter to be smashed into the ground forever destroyed and requiring me to go through a LOAD of recovery just to get resources back so I can buy a new one. I would love if there was a "Hidden Galaxy" where the camera is disabled (or maybe it just disables the coordinates — or adds interference to the iamges taken in that galaxy. And within that hidden galaxy there would be — at the center — the way out to our universe — and a postapocalyptic utterly destroyed-by-AI earth with a room full of bald atrophied bodies stuck in chairs connected to the "Atlas" I would really appreciate Inter-player trading — whether it's food, items, ships, freighters or services, trade between players would truly change the end game. I would love Interplayer Games — whether they're integrated games like varient sudoku logic puzzles, racing, Minotaur Rock'm Sock'm Robots, or Rocket League style games of various sorts — all of which...

Eye for eye quick silver quest [Discussion]

So I just finished an eye for eye nexus quick silver quest, and wanted to see if anyone else had the same thing happen to them. So after getting to the blowup the depo part of the quest I flew close to the depo. When I got close I immediately got a 5 star wanted level, and a sentinal capital ship spawned in. After landing I started getting bombarded by laser blasts. Looking up it seems they were coming from the sky. So I think they were coming from the sentinal capital ship. The laser fire also blew up the depo. Has anyone else had this happen? Note I did have two nexus hobos that joined, but I don't think it was them.

Portable Grill glitch [Bug]

Tried using the portable grill on the exo-skiff but it, uh…glitched out a bit. Ended up with three stacks of processed sugar as every time I went to go look it had the same stack of 47 it had just processed. Eventually it stopped showing me the stacks, but it kept glitching the grahberry in. Even after processing something else, it would immediately stick the singular grahberry back in the slot as soon as the other item was done cooking. Anyone else had this happen?

Trying to design living quarters for Gek [Question]

This is a little bit silly 😅 but I'm building my first freighter base and decided it would be cool to have living quarters for each lifeform working for me and one for myself. I already built the ones for the Vy'keen (a gold and red room with beast's taxidermy, a gun stand and a huge decal of the minotaur. it has classy retired warlord vibes) and for the Korvax (blue and purple with multiple wonder pods and other science trinkets, with posters of insects as if it was a colection), but I have no idea what to do for the Gek. Please give me ideas if y'all have any. It will be much appreciated

Why are we forced to do hours of quests to get access to purple systems even on creative mode? [Question]

I want to have an option to unlock purple systems without the quests but instead I have to go through several hours of quests just to see gas giants. There used to be a way to bypass it by following a path until you get to an "invisible" star in the galaxy map but that has been patched too and I don't know why Hello Games wants us to go through hours of quests to unlock the purple systems. Yeah there is a mod out there but what about console platforms? What about the possibly for an update to break the mod? What if Hello Games decides to block the mod from running? Other than a mod that could break on any update, we are forced to do quests even in creative mode.

Stuck in Expedition? [Question]

Hello! I followed a distress signal and found a badly damaged ship. I acquired the ship thinking that it would get added to my inventory but it seems like it replaced my ship. Now I don't have an antileum drive which seems necessary to get to the second rendezvous point. I'm short some indium and living glass to install the drive and I can't get to any systems with indium. Do I have any options or am I stuck?

Portals & Glyphs Question [Question]

Can someone explain the whole portal and glyphs thing to me like I’m 10?

I started playing a few weeks ago and someone just gave me a void egg the other day. I have been doing the missions, and now I’m looking for the planet the egg wants or whatever, with the glyphs. I just got to the part in the Artemis missions where I used the portal for the first time.

What do I do now to get to the planet for the void egg? I have been looking for a portal for a few hours and I think I’m missing something ? When I try to look it up it just says “find a portal” and skips how to do this. Probably bc it’s something super simple that doesn’t need explaining, unless you’re me. 😂 Please help!

Switching from PS4 to PS5 [Question]

Graaaah! Greetings fellow Interlopers

I got pretty far on NMS on my PS4, then got a PS5…..

Apparently you couldn’t just switch on the ps5 and start playing, there was a kind of file/save transfer

I get halfway through it, and something happened. I can’t remember what, but I got called away and never completed the transfer. This was a few years ago, I’m missing the game now, and want to play it again….

How screwed am I?

200 Hour Save Lost? Game Crashes during Autosave [Bug]

Everytime my game tries to autosave, I get locked out of interacting with anything & then ultimately the game crashes. I've had to turn off the PC to get out of the freeze. I already tried using a backup file and turned off steam sync and I am still getting this from a save 10 hours before it started happening.

Broke my first planet tonight [Screenshot]

I found another ruin and decided to excavate the entire thing with the intention of building a base within it. I got it all dug out and started cleaning up the walls when a big chunk of the planet disappeared and I clipped into nothingness. Spent about an hour restoring a good portion of the surrounding terrain before I gave up. Oh well.

So, I'm a pretty old player (well, I've been playing since before 2020) and I remember (at least on PS4) that this area on stations was where traders used to be, but now, I haven't found a single station with anything up here. They look almost as if I could build my own shops in them, but pressing z doesn't do anything and a quick google search seems to say that's not possible.

New player, question about expeditions [Question]

I'm a relatively new player. I play on Xbox. I'm currently on "The Purge" quest and I have completed the Atlas path, and I have done none of the other side quests yet. I've never been on an expedition before.

Is it better to begin a whole new save for your expedition, or is it better to begin one with your character on your main save? I watched a video on the latest expedition and saw that the brand new character's exosuit is already upgraded to some extent with hazard protection. Will your existing character recieve these upgrades too, or will your pre existing upgrades carry over?

Can you exit the expedition at any time on your main save, and pick up in the expedition where you left off?

Also, what happens when you get a starship as a reward on the expedition? Can you transfer this reward to your main save? How does that work?

Adjacent super charged slots vs higher base class, which is best? [Question]

Say you find a cool multi-tool or ship, one is A-class with 2 adjacent slots, the other is S-class with 0 adjacent slots do you keep the A or the S?

I did some testing with a multi-tool recently, one was A class with 3 distant slots, the other a B class with 2 adjacent slots; with the same weapon modules, the B did substantially more damage, even more so when I upgraded it to A.

So idk, I used to think it was worth searching for S-class ships or tools but now maybe it's just better to search for better slots grouping?

Expedition Staff [Question]

Hello Everyone

I did the Titan Expedition and got the Staff at the end. I then switched back to my multitool and all of a sudden i can't find the staff in my inventory anymore.

Are your Base Screenshots not saving and showing at teleporters? [Information]

I have found a definite no fuss way to fix this for some cases. If your base name has any special characters in the name, REMOVE THEM. I discovered this by accident today after trying for days to get my captures to save. I removed all special characters in the base name after noticing it was only on bases with slashes in them. My theory is that the image name within the game-files, if it has special characters in it, especially slashes, will make the file-path name unreadable in the game-files and won't be able to load.

Question on difficulty changes [Question]

I apologize, it seems this topic is beat to death.. However I still can not find a concrete answer. I am currently barely into my fiest playthrough, playing on standard. I am at the part where I need to build a base and start digging up tech.

I am trying to learn and kind of annoyed with the constant repairing from poison and having to heal.. it's not difficult, it's just tedious and feels unnecessarily repetitive.

I am thinking that I would have more fun playing on relaxed. If I swap this setting on my current game will I lose access to any of the potential trophies? I don't care about permanent or survival mode at this time. If I have enough fun, that will be playthrough 2.. probably coop as I am currently trying to catch up to a friend who has a few freighters.

Thank you for your answers. Sorry for asking this again, I did try the search.. and LOTS of mixed information, and more opinions than info.

Another brick in the galaxy stuck in euclide and quartzite [Question]

with more than 4500 hours of play I remain stuck:

I am in survival, euclid, all the main and secondary missions completed but I remain stuck on a few points.

from 1 I made the center of the galaxy but in the past I returned to euclid for fear of losing my bases (big mistake do not return to euclid unnecessarily for fear of losing!)

and in the end I reached a station on hilbert but I returned to euclid by teleporter.

since then I have gone to the center of the galaxy, taken the portals to go as close as possible to the galactic center and speak to atlas stations everything! tried everything.

impossible to change galaxies. and also impossible to find quartzite while I have the 3 thrusters (red blue green) and access to systems of all colors.

so two questions 1 how to leave euclid after having tried everything and

2 where is quartzite I have looked at the wiki traveling purple. 10000 al in capital ships but I can't find quartzite...

your advice?

Black Dots [Bug]

Hello guys! Anyone knows what is the reason or resolution to these black dots? Only while opening the menus :/. Also I saw similar dots with the head of Iteration Ares. I guess it is about transperency maybe.

New Capital Ships?? [Question]

Have the capital ships always been this big or are these new?

My first one was absolutely gammin, still mad they haven’t put in cryo sleep or beds yet or basically anything else. Can’t take off my helmet/clothes, eat, sleep, nothing. Makes no sense, I haven’t seen many movies at all about space travel where cryo sleep wasn’t involved and the first space game they’ve made that’s actually decent they managed to skip the whole thing. Even fallout 76 has cryogenic beds.

Also if anyone knows if there are any big republic/empire destroyers I can find let me know, that’s what I was thinking when I found this one.

New pet? [Screenshot]

So I found this odd creature flying around. I've seen similar before, small flying triangles or pyramids with glowing pieces inside. These were a hex shaped version and I offered it a treat. Went to see what sort of items it gave only to find out - you can ride them?

Lmfao, funniest thing I've seen in awhile in this game. Doesn't have the same impact in a still shot, in motion every so often this hex frame creature rotates and spins like a gyroscope. And when you're riding, the player character spins around like it's in a washing machine. Haha.

Also supposedly gives eggs which I guess it would as a pet. Just odd.

I'm not very new to this game (as far as I know I have 100+ hours played) but also I'm not experienced. And whenever I play I always go for completing the main missions or sometimes the secondary ones. I think I have a LOT to learn yet, I feel like I just know about the tip of the iceberg about this game. I just discovered you can escape from sentinel attacks if you engage your warp drive before they spawn [Discussion]

I'm not sure if it's just a glitch or maybe having an exotic ship but I got caught with a bunch of nip nip and immediately after the warning jumped to warp. I could even hear the sentinel ships spawning for a second as I arrived at my destination. Normally I'd just stick around for the battle but I was just preparing to jump to an expedition rendezvous and didn't feel like getting into it.. I'm curious to try it again. It might help some new players if they're not ready to take on the sentinels and have a hold full of contraband.

I’m aware of the 3 hour wait inbetween spawns but am curious if it’s 3 hours of playtime in one session or just 3 hours of playtime after the last encounter in general. Like for example say I played 3 hours but didn’t warp and then exited the game. When I get back on will the cooldown reset?

Replayed Expedition 1 in offline mode, but no items showing up to transfer after completing [Question]

Ok, so I used this guide to play Expedition 1 in offline mode on my steam deck: https://chrisn1992.github.io/Expedition-Replay-NMS/

I started the Expedition from my main save, in offline mode, from the Anomaly console. Completed the Expedition, all phases, everything worked great. HOWEVER, now that I received the "Expedition Complete" message and returned to the Anomaly, when I click on any of the technology or cargo slots to try and transfer back items, my inventory popup is totally blank!

I recently discovered there appears to be a newer guide for replaying old Expeditions: https://cwmonkey.github.io/nms-expeditions/ - but I didn't see that until I started researching this problem.

Any thoughts? I already tried restarting the game. Also tried returning to primary save and then returning to Expedition. It all worked fine, just still inventory popup is blank.

Is it because I did the original Expedition 1 instead of redux? Am I doing something else wrong? Would love to transfer all the suit/ship/multitool expansion slot modules I collected to my main!!! Thanks!

I just did this successfully (normally, not in offline mode) for Expedition 17 and was able to transfer tons of stuff multiple times very easily, so not sure why this wouldn't be working.

Expedition Rewards Question for newcomer [Question]

I am new to NMS and am trying out expedition 17. In order to unlock the ship, do I have to complete each smaller mission in all 5 milestones or just reach the final phase milestone?

Currently stuck trying to figure out how to land on Rendezvous Point 2, so getting everything in just a few weeks seems daunting.

Noob questions - please help me! [Question]

A little about me:

  • I play NMS on Xbox. I think free through Game Pass.

  • I decided to join NMS very late - maybe 1-2 years ago - I have 30ish hours played.

  • I am a casual player wanting to get into the game more - just picked back up after 1+ years off. I search YT once in a while to learn new things about the game. I decided to come to the experts.

Here are my thoughts/questions:

  • Can I move my initial base? I just choose a planet right off the start - for no reason. My base is VERy basic - walls/roof - storage - medium processor - tele-porter - save point - contraction module. After I came back to the game my freakin World has become a nightmare - large worm like plants that pulsate are everywhere. I also placed my base on a hill - would like to move to flatter land - or even to another World. I know you can make another base - does this absorb existing or just become another base in my inventory?

  • I have a multitool I bought somewhere. Added whatever I could along the way haphazardly. I like the Boltcaster as a weapon but it fires in there round Burts and need reloading a bunch. What Can I add to my MT to improve this? Also I saw there was something like an auto rifle add-on. Any help with improving Boltcaster or obtaining the auto riffle please add here. I believe I upgraded my MT to Class A (if that's a thing).

  • My Exo Suit - I have been busting my ass to expand my suit. Ugraded slots - etc... I had a a number of drops to expand my suit - but when I applied them it says ' - inactive due to overload of suit remove other items to activate. So man I thought if I expanding my tech slots I can use any of the upgrades. Why can't I do this? Do I need to upgrade my suit? Ho can I use more adding without overloading suit?????? I really want to be a boss - and if I can only have a few upgrades - then why did I upgrade my tech slots!!!!!

  • Can anyone -...

Does the planet you make only have one of the 3 options on it? Me and my partner are playing together (as in next to each other not on multiplayer in case it causes issues) and his planet just hasn't got any of the options he chose on it and mine only has one of the 3 (I chose paradise/vykeen/vile brood but it gave me paradise, korvax and high sentinel activity) he chose paradise planet and there's none on his system ;-;

Traps, challenges and trails! [Question]

I’m planning a base that will host No Man Sky trails. They will be challenges that are themed after all main races plus atlas and anomaly. I want them to be passable but with possibility of dying. So for Korvax I have an underwater labyrinth with some logic puzzles, for gek a perfume cave filled with hazardous flora that makes a lot of gas’s (you’ll have to navigate a corridor filled with gas) vy’king just a chamber with the underwater angelfish you need to kill to be able to get out. Space cannon that lunches you into space or 1,5k underwater for atlas and anomaly. Also will be using strategically placed one eyed horrors and underwater volcanic fissures aimed at your face when you need to press specific button.

Can you give me any other ideas for deadly challenges that I could include?

A feature that would be a nice addition [Question]

Day one player here, and my my have I enjoyed my time returning to this game about a year and a half ago.

Just wanted to share what I think would be a nice addition I feel this game is missing. Which is suns. It feels odd to me warping to all these different systems and building different drives to reach different colored star systems just for there to be no actual suns in the system just planets orbiting nothing.

Would be cool to actually have suns of different colors and sizes in the middle. And make the systems much larger as in have the planets much further away from each other like a cold planet be really really far away from the sun and hot ones close to the sun. And they can just upgrade the pulse drive to be super fast for when to going the really far away planets so it doesn’t take hours even with the pulse drive.

Also I predict people saying well the sun would be MASSIVE compared to the planets and would be hard to get around it to get to planets on the other side. I’ve thought about this and yes your right but they could do something like a mini black hole/worm hole or something in the system that’ll take you to the other side of the sun(with no load screen either would be DOPE like a portal from the game “portal” or splitgate)

Additionally they could have cool new stuff to do around the sun, like certain kind of event or something like investigate the solar flares and have it actually shoot off solar flares you can interact with in some way or harvest some special materials from it or something. Also would be cool if you could build like a partial Dyson sphere around it or something to harvest the energy and build stuff to transfer the energy to your base! I don’t think you should be able to land on it but get close to it sure. What do you guys think?

Where do I go? [Question]

I tried going to a water system and multiple water planets but nothong happened. Just says it seeks a specific planet and to examine to egg to learn its requirements so I assumed 'The Ocean King' being the last thing in the description (I'm already in Euclid) was the clue but I have no idea what it wants from me lol.

Hovering over the egg in my inventory shows text saying "when touched, conjures powerful visions of pink and blue, colours seared into the mind of the holder."

Anyone else bothered by the harry potter style spacial register? [Discussion]

So i fell off a frigate and landed on my freighter. I survive the blitz across from one end to the other( 5 mins and 600 oxygen later). Oddly enough until you jetpack climb over the entry point you cant see the buildables you attached. Also the stairs leading to the airlock shipdeck are wrong. These illusions of space wig my brain out. I respect the upper end construction as to not spacially limit interior customization tho.

I feel like I may have posed this before in the comments somewhere, but does anyone set out to build a little base for themselves and end up building a not so little vacation Hub, like they expect folks to stop by and stay awhile? I can't stop doing this. I have several bases like this elsewhere but this is the latest. It's a work in progress. We're still trying to get our vendors in and our restaurants equipped and staffed, but we have 12 rooms, most with lovely views and private balconies, plenty of fishing, and a settlement just up the hill. Come on by! 😁

We now know what causes guild envoys to restock [Information]

u/Alarming_Manager_332/ noticed that after exhausting the supply of perks at a number of guild envoys and looping back, when claiming one additional perk, other items instantly started becoming available again. They weren't sure how many perks you would have to claim to cause this to happen, though. They asked me to test, and I have good news to report.

I made a spreadsheet of every normal space station in my teleporter list, then visited the oldest. Each guild envoy has six perks, but because the third perk down is always a purchase rather than a freebie, and it's always something of which I already have more than I need, I started exhausting the supply of the other five items (1, 2, 4, 5, 6) and then moving on to the next space station. Periodically I went back to this first station to check whether items had restocked or not.

After exhausting 200 perks (5 items at each of 20 guild envoys), the items started to restock. This is the trigger.

Previously I always ignored the ammunition perk at mercenary guild envoys, because I use the neutron cannon, but now I'll definitely be claiming these useless items too, to expedite restocking.

Does it matter that I didn’t birth the star? [Question]

I was on the atlas path kinda just speed running because I wanted to unlock purple systems I got the final one and figured before I birthed a star I would finish the Artemis path and then come back to it. But I didn’t know by exiting the final atlas station that it would not let me create a star since I refused? Does this affect my game that much and can I still learn how to travel to purple systems?

Disappeared ship [Bug]

Went on a misson where i got teleported away from my ship, when i got back i could not summon the ship i came in, bu i summoned the old one, had to repair the engines but now my new ship i gone.
in my freighter there is now two of the old ship, can i get the new one back?

Question about expeditions [Question]

Hello everyone. I’ve played this game a few times in the past but never got far into it. I wanted to start a new play through so I selected new save file, then clicked on the titan expedition. I’m playing through it now, about half way done with everything. Where will all of the stuff go that I’ve collected? The nanites, quicksilver etc. the character that it gave me for the expedition has a purple jet pack stream which I believe I had on a different save file from a year ago or something. Idk which character or file all of this stuff is going to go to.

Who else is just building, buying and salvaging ships without any necessity? I have 5 or 6 completely modded ships that I rotate randomly. Are you guys doing the same or do you just have 1 ship that you use all the time?

How to start the Autophage missions? Fear bug saves. [Question]

Hi guys I have finished the main Quest of the game “The Atlas Path” (I haven't finished “The First Traveller,” but I read that the important one to finish is the Atlas one), finished the Quest “A Trace of Metal” and entered multiple dissonant planets and interacted with multiple terminals, I have also been sent to multiple robotic ships and even made one my own, but I can't get the quest line to unlock the Autophage race started.

Does anyone know how to get started? What am I doing wrong?

Water worlds in Eissentam? [Question]

Are there even water worlds in Eissentam?

I warped to 30 purple systems in the last hour, and I am completely unable to find one water world, and when I do the same thing on Eucild galaxy, it takes me 5 warps max

I know the planets odds are different based on the galaxy type you're in, but according to the wiki, purple stars are unaffected by the galaxy type

Titan Expedition [Question]

So me and my girlfriend decided to join the Titan expedition. Things seemed pretty straightforward until I had to get to the 1st rendezvous. I need the ATLANDTID DRIVE, to get there and I have to find the parts to build but yet my girlfriend didn't have to build it and already had it? Am I missing something because when I try to build it I have to get Indium and living glass but in order to get get indium, I need an Indium drive?!?! Like what am I doing wrong?

Three crashes in under ten minutes [Question]

I'm on PS5, but stuck playing PS4 version due to my 400+ hour save file not being available for transfer in any way. Is there anything that can be done to remedy my troubles? Is the game always crashing like this on PS5 version or am I just thinking the grass is greener on the other side when it's not?

Guild Envoy never offers Salvaged Frigate Modules if I have one in my inventory [Question]

I am trying to farm Salvaged Frigate Modules, and my process has been to travel to a Explorer Guild system and then to all the adjacent Explorer guild systems. What I discovered is that I rarely got a Salvaged Frigate Module if I had one in my inventory (exosuit, ship or frigate, didnt matter). As soon as I spent the upgrade module, the very next system almost guaranteed a Salvaged Frigate Module.

Am I going crazy or experiencing a random streak of bad luck? Or is it possible that what I have in my inventory can influence what rewards the Guild envoy offers?

Why is No Mans Sky randomly refusing to recognize the PSVR1 headset? [Bug]

According to my save file I last played in March 2023, on my PS5. This would have been using PSVR1, I assume on the PS4 version as that's what is compatible with this headset.

So can anyone explain why, 2 years later when I finally boot up PSVR1 again (and what a over complicated relic that thing is!), select No Mans Sky and sit back to enjoy... the damn game REFUSES to acknowledge I am in VR.

It just shows me the game on that giant cinema screen, VR won't even show up on the ingame settings.

The actual headset is lit up, recognized by PlayStation - but not this god forsaken game, it once was, its the same console, nothing's changed - please help?!

I'm about to throw my PSVR(1) out the window thanks to No Man's Sky (PLEASE HELP) [Question]

Question on Purple Systems - Gas Giants & Water Worlds [Question]

Hi all,

Quick question as I googled already a little.

Are there Water worlds that have no storms?

Do Gas Giants have varied colours within? Like green storms, or blue storms, etc?

Has anyone seen Water worlds where underneath is remarkably different? So far I've seen 2 (I know nothing) and under both were similar.

Any Water worlds where it's clearer looking up or is it always deep/dark?

I'm looking at building a Water world base but wanted to find one that didn't have storms, so it's calm.

Storms scare me! lol.

I’d really like an ability to open a store in NMS. Like those rest stops that have a little galactic trade terminal and shops that specifically sell certain items. Being able to do something like that would be awesome.

Is there a limit to the discoveries that the galactic map can display? [Question]

I'm exploring an entire region, and I've noticed that some systems started to "unmark," and the planets within them stopped being discovered. When I return to the affected system, I have to rediscover everything, but the menu indicates that it has already been discovered though not indicates the user (It’s supposed to be me).

Surely I'll be Safe During the Initialization. LOL [Screenshot]

I was starting the expedition and waiting for the initialization brief to end. A thought suddenly popped into my head, "What if a tornado scooped me up while the computer was checking my systems? Nah, that won't happen. Hello Games probably has some immunity set until the game gives you control."

Just as I finished that thought and just before the computer mentioned the multi-tool, sure enough, a tornado picked me up. Luckily it only dragged me across the ground and slammed me into one of those giant salt crystals. Minimal damage, just one "+" of health gone. Ran to my ship after that.

Mission Duplicates in Log [Bug]

Could be due to the enabling/disabling mods (unlikely as I don’t have any mission-related mods except “No Approximate Location”), but after the most recent update on (I’m on PC game pass), I’m seeing duplicates of several of the missions, even primary missions like Awakenings.

I’d really prefer not to have to go through the story and base missions all over again, and editing the JSON is bound to break something. Any chance of easily refreshing my mission progress?

Are Guild Donations Tiered? [Question]

I'm beginning to suspect that donations to Guild are tiered, as they no longer seem to be accepting Pirate Transponders as I have leveled up in guild rank. I've been searching the wiki and Google and can't find any evidence of this. Are donations actually Tiered? DO they stop accepting certain items as you get higher in rank?

About Expeditions [Question]

How do expeditions work? I know I need to make a new game and it says I can bring stuff to my save, how do I do that? What can I bring to my old save and also can I keep playing in the save I made for the expedition?

Also, has anyone else had issues with the Titan expedition? I tried to launch it this morning but it showed me a cutscene and then a black screen and I couldn't move or turn or jump or anything.

Unplayable FPS on First Launch [Question]

Hi everyone. I hope some of you can help me. I am new to this game and I'd like to give this a try but the unplayable frames are not being nice to me right now. Literally first launch of the game, I went straight to Normal mode. I have not touched any of the graphic settings aside from change my resolution to native and adjust some volume. I like to adjust the graphic settings when I'm in game so I can see which settings work best. But the game was already stuttering while loading in from the stars and starts to get a single digit FPS from the part where I have to hold E to get started in the planet's surface. FPS is downright horrible never getting past 6fps. GPU usage is at constant 100% while CPU usage never get above 20%. I tried tweaking the graphic settings this time to the lowest possible but frames are still at a single digit numbers.

Specs are as follows: Borderless 1920x1080 i7-9700F GTX 1060 3GB (Driver version: 566.36) 16GB RAM

I know my rig isn't exactly the on par with today's specifications, but I wouldn't have given this game a shot if the system requirements on the web wouldn't be able to do so with my specs.

I appreciate any help you guys can give!

Floating Islands [Question]

Is there any specific way to more easily find planets that have big, high up, floating islands? Specifically ones that aren’t lush.

I’m trying to find one that has both floating islands and is anywhere from a little stormy to extremely stormy.

I’ve only ever found them on nice, peaceful planets. I want a nasty planet with floating islands that really wants me dead.

Not getting correct reward? [Question]

Newbie here kinda lol. Saw this mission was easy and the reward was 25 Storm crystals and reputation. When I claim the reward, I get an Exosuit upgrade module and the reputation. Checked my inventory and even went to craft something requiring storm crystals and it says I have none. Would really save me the trouble of scavenging the crystals. Any tips? I repeatedly reloaded the save and tried again. I loaded back and currently don’t have the mission turned in yet awaiting possible solutions

my open letter to hello games, [Discussion]

Dear Hello Games,

I want to thank you for making an awesome game. I am just over a year old as a traveler among the stars. Tomorrow begins the second act of Heresy and after the third act is done, I just want to take an entire day to survey a planet or system and the only thing I'll shoot are predators coming after me. You all have made a game that has lots of beauty to it. I wasn't with the game during the dark times before it rose from the ashes to start on the path to what it's become now. I wanted to be able to organize my inventory, have a place to put ships when I am not using them and you didn't just deliver... you OVER DELIEVERED!!! to take all that and then you went to the extra steps of adding things like gas giants (well your version) and past updates added red star systems and other wonderful things. If the people who do D2 would overdeliver like you maybe the player base would be less, uh, grumpy at them. You have made an awesome universe which I intend to "retire" in and just enjoy for a long time to come.

Helios bugged since day one. [Bug]

The Iteration: Helios on the Anomaly awarded me nanites the first time I visited them several weeks ago when I finally bought in to this wonderful game after seeing some details of the Worlds Part 2 updates, but has since only told me to come back another day, and I’ve checked multiple times per day every day I’ve played. I’ve tried disconnecting from Multiplayer, but that was the only suggestion for a fix I could find searching online so far.

Any suggestions from anyone? Any help? I’d love to rack up those sweet nano machines from all the scanning I do.

70+ hour save crashes game when loading in [Bug]

Recently I started playing NMS again after about a 18 month hiatus with the new Titan Expedition launch. This is actually the very first expedition I’ve ever played and now I feel like I’ve been missing out on a lot for now playing previous ones before.

I’m on about phase 3 of the expedition, wherever the point is that has you build a base on a gas giant. I’m in the build menu about to finish building my base, when I decide to alt tab to stop a video I’m watching on my second monitor. As I do this, my game crashes. This the first real crash I’ve ever experienced in NMS. The first thing I tried was to simply load up the game again and see what happens. The game itself loads fine. I’m able to move around the menu screen, adjust settings, etc. But every time I try and load my main 70+ hour save, the game will crash. Specifically, what happens is the stars of the loading screen appear for a little while, and I make it to a white screen where I can hear the classic ship loading sound you hear whenever you open up any save, but then the screen will flash very briefly and the entire game will crash.

I’ve gone to the NMS website and submitted a bug report and included the files they requested in the form, but I haven’t heard back and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do on my end to help fix my save. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and that didn’t fix anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Character appearance rewards not unlocking? [Bug]

There are a few character appearance items that I've unlocked, like some kind of pirate hood, a deep sea diving helmet, a piece of sentinel robot armor, and the game says that they are available in the character appearance changer, but so far there hasn't been anything new unlocking.

The only new items that I HAVE unlocked are the Cape and the Badge from completing the titan expedition, after claiming those rewards at the space anomaly, but the others are still locked.

What do I do about this?

My race is currently Anomaly but I've tried changing race but everything is still locked.

New player and specialitys for weapons? [Question]

Hello. I am a new player since a few weeks and i love the game! I was reading on reddit through the NoMansSky subs and somebody said that each weapon from a specific race has a specialty. Like one is better for scanning, another is better for damage (sentinel?) and so on. Is this true? If yes, can someone post a list for the specialitys of the weapons?

Please ask before Anomaly giveaways in Permadeath. Some of us are playing with Harsh inventory settings. [Discussion]

Today I had to turn off multiplayer whilst visiting the Anomaly in Permadeath mode.

Not because of some griefer exploiting some glitch to endanger folks, but because like many other folks in Permadeath I'm also playing with the hardest settings for damage, inventory, cost etc.

So today I'm passing through and a "gift" of around 120 stasis modules (which I didn't need, want, or elicit) floods my inventory. These stack up to THREE at most on Harsh settings. THREE. So my inventory is now fucked. So I hunt the source down to return it and they see forty messages of me returning 3 at a time, followed by a "Not right now" gesture.

I'm pretty sure they didn't understand what the problem was, because they were in the same session doing it again ten minutes later, at which point I disabled multiplayer.

It's even worse if I can't find the origin player when this happens, I have to stop what I'm doing and use the junk button for several minutes deleting the whole lot. It'd be quicker to reload the game, but that terminates a Nexus mission, which is often what I'm there for.

The "Immortal" title should've been a hint that I don't need aid. So should be the Squid I just parked, the full QS armour I'm wearing, the fancy staff, and the fact I travel the full length of the Anomaly in a single jetpack flight. But more than that, we're in a hardcore mode. Unsolicited gifts simply aren't appropriate.

This has happened a few times in the last week after years of basically never. Yesterday I had to deal with a similar dump of unwanted Memory Fragments from another player. Whilst it's nice for folks to make these donations in Normal mode, it's not necessarily welcome and potentially outright obnoxious in harder modes, and now you know why. Please offer first, or wait for someone to ask for resources. I'm sure...

Am I screwed? [Bug]

Ok, so I've got a save I've been on for a little over 120hrs, done all the main quests, got a few bases dotted around 19 ish galaxies and was working on a personal goal of catching every kind of fish there is.

Recently, and this is possibly after the most recent update, when i loaded, a whole bunch of previously competed quest popped up, some like 'a trace of metal' or 'under a rebel star' have multiple entries but with different tasks.. I figured it was just annoying and re-did a couple of them, and for a while was using base teleporters extensively, trying to figure out where i left my settlement (wasn't on the list) and now I cant warp anywhere at all because every system has "anomalous signal blocking warp" in big red lettering on it.. I use several QOL mods, and figured i might have a bad one, so removed them all, but this has not fixed the problem.

Is my save completely borked?

Enhancing the Minotaur AI [Question]

I saw a recent post here about an AI glitch showing the Minotaur breakdancing.

How cool would it be if Hello Games added a feature that allowed us to connect a minotaur AI to an external program with some kind of API?

This would allow players to program minotaur moves, enable NMS use for AI research, and you could even have minotaur combat arenas a la Robot Wars.

PSA: You can divert starship power between shields, engines, and weapons [Information]

Some of you may already know but I had no idea until I accidentally discovered it, by pressing "/" (on PC, don't know the button on console) while flying in your starship, you can divert power between shields, engines, and weapons, greatly enhancing the effect of whichever system you divert to. Can actually be a game changer in dogfights (or avoiding them).

Can't reach Galaxy Center without atlantid drive [Question]

Hey I currently have the mission to get to the galaxy Center. I followed the Route, but no matter where i move, the Last system i have to reach before getting to the center needs an atlantid drive, which I can not obtain Prior to finishing the mission I'm currently at.

I already tried reaching other Systems and try to make the jump with fully charged warp Drive, but that did not work.

Ist there anything i can do except from jumping a lot around, trying to reach a specific system that works for me?

Can someone explain the need to turn off cloud sync for tiny version bumps? [Question]

If you have NMS on the Switch, you know that we have been unable to use cross platform cloud saves since 5.5.0 came out. By the time it hit the Switch, the PC version has gotten fixed a couple of times. And we have yet to catch up. While the PC has had 9 fixes, we have only had two. And if we opened our Switch save game on the PC, it is now hostage and we are unable to get it back on the Switch. But WHY?

When the version numbers are out of sync, only one platform can access the cloud save. But unless something has changed in the format of the save data, it really shouldn't matter. If they make some user interface change or fix something in planet generation, that doesn't change how data in your progress is saved. So I don't understand why this is so hard to figure out. Why is HG locking us out, knowing that Nintendo is as slow as molasses to get is updates, when the kinds things they are fixing change game play but not storage of our progress?

A new Quest Opened very early that walks a player through all the trade mechanics, including buying and selling modules for nanites, trade routes, quicksilver acquisition at the nexus, and other forms of nanite and cash production - runaway mould, artifacts, etc etc. A new Quest that follows Freighters & Frigates - how to acquire, repair, maintain, pick missions, build them up, find the resources to improve them and generally maximize their productivity and usefulness.
A new Quest that focuses on the proper placement and maximization of modules in all areas. Meaning, a walk through on where to place multitool modules to maximize their value, where to place life support, shiels etc etc. Basically a more advanced UI walk through. A new Quest that Focuses on Exocraft - building, decking them out, building a racetrack etc etc.
A new quest that goes into a lot more depth on basebuilding - perhaps teaching how to select sites, build out a farm (creatures, minerals, plants etc), a walk through on each energy type

I'm not looking for Artemis or the main quest line - I'm literally looking for a few little quests about the length of an expedition that just focuses entirely on teaching game skills. No new features are necessary. And nothing in any of these quests should be anything that is necessary for progression. Just there to help new players experience the breadth of the game and understand the mechanics without muddling through and missing half of what's there only to have an AHAH moment a year later.

Playstyle - OCD Question [Question]

I have a weird question - am I the only one that can never get rid of Radiant Pillar? I don't mean I'm physically unable to do it, I mean, emotionally. I always end up keeping it on my freighter as a sort of museum piece. In fact, I end up with at least 2-3 ships like that. Always Radiant Pillar and then my second ship, whatever that may be. It's like I fall in love with them even if they totally suck because they tie me to the beginning of the adventure.

And yes, I do the same with my first multitool.

Oh, and I ALWAYS go to the spot where I first come to consciousness and lay down a base computer and small hut.

That's pretty much it. I'm on Xbox, and would absolutely love NMS to support keyboard functionality. The multiplayer aspect of NMS is great fun, but not being able to communicate with specificity is rather disappointing. Just my 2¢.

I started NMS in 2016 at launch day. Back then I was broke, had no perspective, and was, next to a massive c**ain and booze addiction pretty much unhealthy lol.

Meanwhile I got my shizzle together, am self-employed AND, finally ... found the exact planet I always wanted to have (with everything in the mix, like sky color, Korvax inhabitants (because they look like Daft Punk) plus enough planets in the sky.

Freaky Monochrome/Grayscale Planet [Screenshot]

Landed here a couple days ago, unnerved the hell out of me lol. When I first went down it was a raging storm and I ended up on the ocean dodging lightning. Finally found some (flat, barren…) land, touched down, andddd…all I gotta say is these planets are freaky at night. Seeing all those silhouettes against pale pink in nearly pitch dark was unsettling!! Have y’all come across planets like this? I think I’ve come across maybe one or two others like this.

Hello everyone!

I've picked up No Man's Sky just today and it's my first time playing it. I enjoy it so far and I would love to introduce this game to my friends (also first-timers). However, I'm not sure how multiplayer works in this game since each of us will have separate saves? Let's say that we want to play together but life is life - sometimes 3 out of 4 are online, sometimes full squad, sometimes 1 out of 4.

Since today we were playing Minecraft on our own realm so it was not an issue but how does it work here? Can we play like that and share progess somehow? How does it work compared to said realm?

Also, how much of us can play together? What is the limit?

How to delete units and ships? [Question]

I'm playing with my brother and then I noticed I had something that sold for 600m units and was happy, I had a feeling something was wrong so I looked up how I got such a high value item and it turn's out someone dumped it into my inventory in The Anomaly, now I wan't to get rid of all the money I got from it and the freighter and ship I bought without having to make a new save.

I have been hopping from system to system to find just one thing to fucking rename but I can't cause everything around the area has already been discovered...they should never ever do this mission again. Cause there is some toxic people who will name everything just to fuck over others...already found 3 systems discovered by the same person everything renamed with just random letters...I honestly am ready to quit this expedition cause of this..sorry for the rant just hours of trying to find one thing finally hit a limit.

Question about changing freighter [Question]

I just defeated a dreadnaught and it is offering to give it to me for free nut I heard that only the first dreadnaught is free, is this true? It’s only b class so I could hold off for a better one. It is better than my freighter I have which is C class with less slots but what will happen to my old freighter, will the builds transfer over? What happens to my frigates as they are currently on a mission, will they stay doing it or return immediately and lose everything they have collected? Thanks.

Returning After 6 Years [Discussion]

About a week ago i decided to pick up the game again. I stopped playing after my save corrupted, which kind of killed the game for me at the time.

It's crazy how much they've added. Playing on a Series X the game looks great. There's so much more variety on planets. Being able to build ships awesome. I just got done with the Expedition, which i really enjoyed. Now I'm just ship hunting and looking for a home planet. I look forward to delving into the Outlaw system and seeing what that has to offer. Ive already discovered X rank upgrades, that will keep me busy until the next Expedition.

Tldr: This game is awesome.

Akkala Ranch [Build]

This is a build I did a while back on one of the planets from an earlier expedition. I loved this location because of the thick foliage and the autumnal look. It reminded me of the Akkala Region in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, hence the name. I consider this my characters true home, his hideaway even.

Sentinel Interceptor help! [Question]

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I'm trying to get my first sentinel interceptor. I've gotten to the step of gathering an inverted mirror, but my analysis visor never finds a dissonance resonator in range. I've flown around this whole planet and resorted to turning in something like 10 different charts just to get me to different parts of the planet. Still nothing in range.

Is it really just unlucky locations? I was considering abandoning it and using my anomaly detectors to try to start over in a different system, does anyone know if that's a better option here?

Note: I am not yet strong enough to fight off all sentinel waves. I've read that marks a resonator on my map. I do have a decent amount of nanites I was saving up for other means, but don't mind spending them on my multitool to get it more powerful if that's better than starting over?

So I'm about halfway thru the Atlas Quest and my settlement quest now has Trace of Metal. Should I complete the Atlas to the point of 16/16/16, then do Artemis, then finish 16/16/16 before I do the Trace of Metal? I also have some Rebel quest that just doesn't interest me (I've done one mission).

What’s a regular amount of units ? [Question]

So for context I’ve been playing NMS for about 7-8 years on and off. Took a really long hiatus because of newer games etc. I’ve just recently been getting back into it and realized that I have an absolute absurd amount of units. I’m talking 4,247,887,437 units.

I see people post pictures and they typically have a couple million or a couple hundred million at least. I’m just curious does anyone else have an absurd amount of units and is there a cap to how much you can have? The biggest question is how in the space loving hell did I get 4 billion units

Stuck on planet, game crashing, MacOS Steam [Bug]

Hello travelers. I'm playing on MacOS Steam and I landed on a water planet. I can fish off the ship, and move inventory and the game seems fine. But if I dive into the water or get in the ship and fly, the game crashes after about 15 seconds. I can't get far enough into the sky to go to the galaxy map and warp away, or call the anomaly. I have reloaded the save and rebooted the computer multiple times. This was happening before the latest patch and still continues. Other game saves seem to load/play fine, but this is my main 1300+ hour save. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have already left a post on zendesk.

400 hour main save on ps5 crashes when I try to load it, any advice? [Bug]

Was trying to build a base on the same planet as my settlement, at a silver hot spot. After I built a few things I tried to summon freighter and game crashed but I could log in. After a few more actions it crashed again and won’t load in.

My save synced already so no path there, other things I’ve tried: reinstalled game. Deleted cache (but did not rebuild database, wasn’t sure about that). Tried to host a multiplayer session, still wouldn’t load.

Anything else I could try? Zen desk? What’s that? I’m thinking since it wasn’t right after a patch a patch to fix might not be coming although a search reveals a few others with this type of problem in the last couple weeks.

Any advice? Thanks

Old saves [Question]

I couldn't remember when I got NMS. I looked it up in my Steam purchases and it was November 2016. I have gone through a few PC rebuilds since then. I went through some old drives and I found my oldest saves, from December, 2016.

Is there a way to load into one of them to check it out, or will updates always change them?

Something I learned about Atlantid Multitools [Discussion]

You only get 3x times per planet within a system to get an S class Atlantid Multitools.

For some reason you can only search for 3 alien monoliths at any given planet. Once those 3 are spawned in you cannot find any others via scanning. Don't know if getting charts from space station counts these or not.

This kinda sucks because of you find a cool design for the Multi-tool you only get a certain number of chances. You cannot reroll for better options. Even jumping out of game won't help.

Hey Travelers! I need expert to analyse what I can do to complete The space Anomaly/Beyond the system? It's been like 3 weeks that Im stuck at this part of the game. I know I'm not the only one and I try to check everywhere to find a solution but nothing work. I check with everybody a the station, I bought every tech and a shitload of blueprint. I did nexus missions alone and with other Travelers I did some bases. When I talk to Nada, nothing happen and Polo want to give me coordinate for black holes, and did a lot of it. Im a little bit desperate cause I want to get the atlantid drive and do all the primary as missions.

I would like to see more story lines in NMS , what kind of quests and narratives/ story lines would you like to see? [Question]

I love no mans sky for a variety of reasons! Amazing game. Where else can you fish while being at the top of tornado on radioactive planet ?!

I would however enjoy some more story lines and not necessarily the expeditions but some more regular in game quests that are more complex and involve some context/ story/ history.

New Beginnings [Question]

I'm having trouble trying to access the new worlds update, i've watched a couple videos on this but they're all pre-finish (before making your decision to wipe the slate clean or not). Tried to get all glyphs. [Question]

I have tried several different methods to get the glyphs. Tried three hitting all the bases with glyphs in the name. Tried going to all the portal addresses that have travelers in the space station. One system actually didn’t even have a space station for me to check. What am I doing wrong?

Medical facility? [Build]

I'm building a medical facility in my freighter base. The video is a little walk through - it doesn't include the operating room I just added - it has the same look, and includes the robot arms. No glitch building in this - I don't know how to do it. Does anyone have any good examples of medical facilities they've built?

I just finished THAT ONE mission that literally breaks ALL of your tech. Exosuit, multitool, ship... I made it to the anomaly after a while but now I’m pretty much fucked. This is filed under answered, because the call was answered. I finished out the Expedition, overcoming my fecal yeast dread from before. From wandering gas giants for an hour, searching for four fish, or fast traveling galaxy after galaxy to find a deep oceanic planet, I voyaged forth to success!! 😤😂

My main thoughts- excellent way to learn a lot of the dynamics quickly and find the way you want to play. 10/10 recommend a play through, the rewards are a great jump into the game.

Annoyances- a couple of the missions were a bit grindy for a casual player, but the rewards are worth the grind. I wish there was an easier way to search for a deep sea planet or water locations on a planet.

Gear I took out- I lucked into a benevolent Traveller that set me up for success. What I actually needed was a carrier AI fragment, a few cargo bulkheads, and a good infraknife. I’ve got a solid Sentinel ship and a decent freighter already, and I’m set to sail the stars!

What would your list look like to set up a fresh character? Maybe we could put together a recommended donation list of things that would help new travelers?

Why is this game absolutely refusing to work? Steam/pc [Bug]

200 hours in no problem, then on Sunday night my game starts refusing to save. Everytime a save was triggered either manually at a beacon or automatic auto save, it would get stuck saving (wheel continuing to spin in bottom left on hud) and I wouldn’t be able to interact with anything. Oh and then when I would quit game it would completely freeze my whole pc and I’d have to do a hard shutoff.

So I trouble shoot this for a couple days. Backup and re upload saves, try save editor, mess with all graphics settings, update drivers, you name it. Finally got it to start saving again but guess what? Now it freezes 5 mins into playing.

So I give up on trying to fix my save file, do a complete reinstall on a new drive, and now I have the same freezing issue on my new instance on a brand new save. Are you kidding me?

Most recently I’m running around on a new toon, just got to the broken starship for the first time, and it froze so bad my computer just decided to restart on its own. I have never seen this in 20 years of gaming.

I7 9700k and rtx2060 super. Game ran fine and even well first 200 hours… this is unbelievable and highly bullcrap..

I guess the good news is my original save file will probably still work once I somehow get this resolved?

Apparently under the bleachers is where all the cool vy'keen hang out. Sitting at a trade post and watched a ship begin to take off, lifted off the pad then fell through the floor. Looked down and saw one that previously took off did the same. And watched as the other two fell through the floor. All four starships just parked under the landing pads.

Favourite teleport limit [Question]

I'm visiting a lot of space stations and adding the ones with useful envoy gifts to my favourite list in the teleporter. I think i hit the limit which seems to be 29 stations. Can someone confirm? I read somewhere that limit is 90 so it kind of took me by surprise.

Snowy Planets. [Question]

I decided to make 5 new survival games, compare them, and guess what? ALL OF THEM WERE SNOWY PLANETS. Every time I make a new save (excluding expeditions) it is always a snowy planet. Has anyone noticed this? It's interesting, 3 years ago my first save was a toxic planet. so I feel it's been changed (the planet spawn chance I guess you could call it 😅)

Working Mod manger for NMS? [Question]

So anyone know of any working mod manager for NMS besides Vortex?

I have NMS installed on external ssd I move between my laptop and PC and had vortex installed on it as well. Sadly Vortex doesn't have a portable version so I was using symbolic links to make Vortex think it files were on C drive when they were actually on the external drive. Sadly Vortex now refuses to work with that anymore. So looking something else to manage the few mods I got installed.

Cleaning up my harddrive and I just found an old pre-Foundation NMS save from 2016. [Discussion]

I found an old 61 hour NMS save on my harddrive from 2016. I've replaced an unused save with it in today's NMS and booted it up.

It's a save that was started pre-Foundation, which was released on the 26th of november 2016, so it's on "normal" difficulty, which was the only difficulty available pre-Foundation.

My spaceship has technology intalled in its inventory slots (not the techslots!) and both my ship and personal inventory is teeming with obsolete tech. I'll have some sorting to do.

I have a C-class ship and a C-class freighter, nothing to write home about. No base apparently, but the game says something about base restoration, so maybe I did have a base, but it was changed in one of the updates in the last 9 years. I think we suffered a few resets before the patches and updates stopped resetting the universe completely.

I might play it for a while to see some of my old discovered star systems from 9 years ago, might be fun to see those old planets in their current state!

One thing I'd like to do is change the difficulty from "normal" to "survival". Does anyone know of a way to change stacks from "standard" back to "restricted"? I want the save to have the full survival feel that I am accustomed to nowadays. I don't like the 9999 stacks. Smaller stacks is plenty for me. Is there any way to do this? If there is, let me know!

Expedition Modules to main save - am I SOL? [Question]

I started the expedition on a fresh save, just completed it and went to the Anomaly to transfer over Tech Modules for my main save.

There is no option to transfer items on the Expedition Terminus, only an announcement that the expedition has finished.

Am I screwed? I really wanted these storage expansions for my main.

Not a lot of Base playthroughs? [Discussion]

I love watching people build. It gives me ideas and it’s just so fun in general. I’m kinda surprised there isn’t a lot of content for building playthroughs for NMS or really a lot of video content in general.

I’ve seen some crazy base building on here and a few on YouTube, but they are either just pictures or they are “walkthroughs”. I’d really love to see more!!

Anyone have any people who do this or is there just not a lot of creator content for NMS?

Struggling to find things to do, am I missing something? [Question]

I’m about 100 hours into the game, I’ve completed all the main questions, side quests, and gotten to the purple stars. My entire base is on my freighter and it’s pretty much maxed except for more building options. Other than expeditions, I’m not really sure what’s left to do other than just explore aimlessly. I feel like I’m missing something because I know people have been playing this going ongoing since release and I’ve only been playing for a few months.

I saw a comment about Exocraft Radar and... [Question]

As I understand it, there is a way to scan for Crashed Freighters with Exocraft Radar.

Which type of Radar will allow me to do it on my Roamer?

I have Exocraft Radar, Radar Power Resonator & Radar Amplifier on the Roamer but see no option for Crashed Freighters in the 'X' Menu.

Options I see are: Trade Outpost, Depot, Drop Pod, Abandoned Structure, Ruins & Alien Structure.

No Crashed Ship/Freighters.

The Exocraft Critter on the Anomaly offers no other Radar add-ons.

Problem with lack of connection to the game server and multiplayer mode - for everyone in Europe? [Bug]

Hello everyone! My multiplayer mode doesn't work, I'm in Europe, there's just no connection, and when I go online, it says there's a problem with web sockets, although I've checked everything 100% and disabled all possible firewalls at the router level, at the PC level, and this problem is on both the PC and the laptop, in general, something very strange.

And I have a question - does anyone of you even have a working game over the network, is there a connection with the game servers, or does everyone have this problem?

Maybe the problem is that I bought a game key that works for Ukraine, and being in Europe, there's some kind of conflict, or do you all also have no access to the servers and you don't play over the network?

Please help, because I'm already very tired of dealing with this problem and playing alone.

Some questions-thoughts?! [Question]

So I’m new here. Had a post asking questions about game. I’m getting back in after 1 year off - only been playing (Xbox) since 2-3 years ago.

funny I didn’t know I could get my exocraft. Thought it was a quest - but I then found out that I can build one. So I go and do this - but my freakin exo appears and just spins wheels while stationary and I’m not even it. I get in - spinning wheels while stationary- and it doesn’t move. I have thrusters - jump - but no move. I do some research - oh i need fuel - but how is this thing spinning without fuel??? Add fuel and nothing but spinning wheels. Am I missing something here?????

some bugs frustrations - I fly fast into a structure and exited and got stuck inside a structure. I couldn’t get out at all. Thank goodness for reloading a few seconds later otherwise I would be hosed. Also my base - which was built a year ago - is inundated with freakin monster worm plants. When I teleport into the base my ship lands right into one plant. When I get into the ship it gets stuck trying to leave the ground! I can’t land and get out - again another scary bug/glitch. Thank god for reloading a few seconds later. NMS Devs need to implement an escape or teleport to somewhere of this happens.

I think it’s funny. I’m rediscovering how to play this complex game. For the longest time I had items installed that weren’t really operating. I don’t realize you needed to add materials to get attachments to function. Been going through all my gear and getting them operational. I also didn’t know you could overload attachments. Thanks to Reddit I know this now.

how can I add slots to my ship!!!! I know you can do things to add to exo suit and multi tool. I can’t fixture out how to add to my ship! Also what occurs when I upgrade the class of my ship? What does it give me? I guess same question about multitool.

I’ve always been a huge building person. Fallout, Minecraft, the forest, IRL legos even construction simulator for Pete sake😂. Any building game I can get my hands on, I obsess. It’s just something I enjoy and feel as if I’m good at. This build is a tribute the earth like paradise planet with an amazing economy and multi planet solar system that I was the first to discover. I plan on expanding beautiful bases all over this planet just to do this planet justice. The planet isn’t too overgrown and I don’t have any issues with it at all. Great economy and no sentinels. So I’m rewarding it with beautiful bases.

Ship landed on planet with green ship icon. [Question]

I’ve been playing for 50+ hours and for the first time, I’m on a planet exploring on foot when a ship in the distance lands. The screen is showing a green ship icon. So I go running and jet packing towards it yo check it out, and then it just flew away.

Was that an actual live player, if it was, it’s my first time ever seeing another live player in this game. I wanted to go do hand gestures and dance. 🕺 can players kill each other in this game?

What is your experience w your frigates joining your dog fight. [Question]

Yesterday in the middle of hunting pirates I got a notification one of my pirate frigates was joining the fight. And indeed I saw it materialize mid battle. Between my squadron doing their antics and the pirate enemy ships attacking I didn't get to actually see what the frigate was or wasn't doing. I know it was still there after the battle. Any observations to share?

Fortress Vader Build [Build]

Sitting at dank farriking 5600 pieces on the planet Mustafar in the Eissentam Galaxy, unfortunately no one will be able to see this unless you want me to take you there personally (I would). I hope this can inspire someone to make something cool.

Fortress Inquisitorius will be next. The hunt for a a nice ocean planet in the neighbourhood of my Mustafar system and another 100k silicate begins.

Deluxe Fabricated Hauler Made For My Royal Gek ( Z / Rhombus Supercharged Slots) [Screenshot]

Made in Euclid, My Outfits in Pic 2 and Glyphs are in Pic 3, you'll need the Iron Vulture expedition ship cockpit and i used an A Class reactor core, you'll also have to use all the same parts at the same space station.

Also take note that i used chrome paint and the light yellow color looks darker and more realistic for gold than dark yellow.

I'm 56 hours in and every time I think I have seen a good portion of what the game has, this sub shows me sentinel ships, exotic ships, dreadnoughts, etc.

I honestly can't get enough but I work a lot so I've been doing a lot of NMS wiki research.

I picked this game up back in 2020 and didn't really give it a chance, but I'm glad I picked it up again. The customization in the settings menu is an absolute game-changer and I don't think it gets talked about enough. That is a huge selling point, IMO.

I have one egg of each of these variants to trade, fresh bred so 20 hours to hatching. Willing to give more than one egg for the Hawk and willing to take a fresh bred egg too.

I got these dragons from various people and bred the originals down into this color scheme which is dark grey, slate grey, and teal blue. So tagged modded since these aren't tameable normally.

Also have a 12 meter tall Cobra Diplo Egg, 5 meter tall T-Rex, and a few event pet eggs that I can add. Child of Helios Jellyfish, "Graboid" Flying Worm, and Sentinel Dog.

Shipbuilding... [Discussion]

After two days of searching for a 2x2 supercharge square with a specific part load out, I can honestly say that ship building in this game is pure and simply gambling. There's no other way to put it.

You jump to a system. "This could be the one."

You start flying to the station. "This may be the one."

You land and spin. "This probably isn't the one."

You jet to the Explorer's/Merc/Trade envoy and take the good stuff. This time they have a Storage Augmentation. "This could be it."

You ignore the 18th Traveller you've seen today because you just can't deal with slow dialog right now.

You jet to the ship builder. "I hope this is the one."

You select your cockpit, the core, the wings, the thrusters. "This has to be the one."

You hold down proceed. You do everything you can to steel yourself against the inevitable disappointment that is sure to come, but your heart flutters a tiny little bit from anticipation.

"Please let this be the one. This has to be the one. Please."

Its not the one.

I have jumped to literal hundreds of systems, purely to test the ship builder in the station, and then leave it behind to warp on to the next one. I don't land on planets, I don't do missions, I don't even scan the planets to see what they're all about. I just go from station to station, 95% of them being first contact. I'm sure I've missed plenty of cool sights, cool flora and fauna.

I'm sure Hello Games doesn't want the majority of "discovered" systems to just be these two minute pit stops of frustrating disappointment. But they probably are. Because I know there are plenty of people like me who jump around for days trying to find the perfect load out for their particular ship parts.

I'd say more than three quarters of the total systems I've been to have for the express purpose of ship building, and I'll never return to 99.9% of them. It's wasteful.

I’m starting to lose all enthusiasm for the expeditions [Discussion]

Unless you follow the “complete in 3 hours” guides, they can be a complete crapshoot on goals. Take the goal to reach 1001m on the current expedition. Site 2 had bases at it stopping me from placing a nautilon at the location, so I kept moving. Ended up thinking the planet was too shallow, and started searching elsewhere. When I finally tried to find site 2 again, the star system wasn’t listed in my teleport options. There are bases people have absolutely built to serve the goal, but they don’t show up on the teleport network for me either. And why is there no system in place to manually search the teleport locations? I have to sift through hundreds of them, hoping for a random helpful title. There’s no apparent ability to search for specific users, or anything like that.

Autophage or bust [Question]

Hi everyone. I’m sorry to make this post but I’m going crazy and I can’t find an answer. So I’ve done the main story, atlas path, and the autophage questline. I have the guy rebuilt at the Anomaly, but I had a quest get bugged and I canceled it but now I can’t get the quest for finding a camp on a dissonant world.

PVP Attacks and robberies between players. [Question]

I have started playing No Mans Sky. I like the concept of space exploration. I have a friend who has also started playing. I really like how interesting it is to share the experience with other players. I am looking for players to do missions with and make bases in new systems. But the question that comes up for me at the moment, is there any online combat? Is there any way to be able to attack players' freighters and steal their resources? Is there any way to even combat between players with the multi-tool? I would like to feel like a space pirate so there would be fights and player brotherhoods. Can you solve my doubts if it is possible to interact in this way in players or is it all just about doing missions together and bases together? Thanks and someone wants to be my space pirate buddy let me know.

Freighter refiners emptying between plays [Bug]

I usually load up all of the refiners on my freighter with Mold before getting off each sitting. And I’ve noticed the last few times after this most recent update I come back and there’s nothing in the refiners not my 10,000 Mold or my 2000 naniges in any of them. Just fully empty. Anyone else notice something up with the refiner rooms?

Gas giant small moons - no oceans or water deeper than 10u. Impossible to find underwater rare fauna? [Question]

Hey fellow travelheads,

I'm on the newest expedition introducing gas Giants and small moons and it's been a real pain to find rare underwater species to scan and get nanites, simply because the water levels on every single small moon is just puddles or doesn't get below 10u. Rare underwater fauna neverz spawn before 40u I believe. The underwater cave systems are great but no fauna spawn in these.

The small moons appear to have vast amount of water from orbit and as soon as you get close and enter the atmosphere, the ground pops up and you realize the "oceans" you were seeing from space are just puddles . Annoying and takes me out of the experience for sure.

Is it just me or is that really a thing you guys also noticed? Can it be fixed in a future update?

Hydroponic trays not working [Question]

So I'm a pretty new player, and doing the farming quest.

I've got the seeds, built the trays, and they definitely have power, they're inside, but when I try to build the seed it won't let me plant it, it comes up as red, saying "missing components"

The trays definitely have power but they won't plant for some reason

Am I doing something stupid?

Game starts after update [Question]

So, i was updating some games on steam at the same time while i could do some usefull stuff while my PC did all of these updates.

NMS happend to be the first one on the list, No big deal. After NMS was done updating it for some reason started the game. I was gone for another 90 min while the game stood on the worlds part 2 screen. So none of the other games could do the update...

My question now is just: How can i turn it off that the game just auto starts after an update.

This was the first time starting the game since the worlds part 2 update so did i miss a intro or something? It was on a big screen with a lot of text but i just closed the game bec i was so upset that it was standing there for 90min.

1 Billion Units in 3 Hours In Early Game - A Guide For Beginners [Discussion]

This farming method has been known a long time, but I wanted to provide a step-by-step guide to new players to maximize Units earned per hour. I just started a few weeks ago and stumbled on this after being frustrated with my 8 Million Unit bank account. I worked hard to perfect the loop, so I thought I would share the exact details with no steps left out at all so early game beginners can follow it with ease. You could literally be doing this run within an hour or two of starting the game.

In my proof-of-concept run (in one sitting), it took 2 minutes shy of 3 hours and I made 1,025,000 Units and 18,600 Nanites, plus a bunch of good stuff taken from the bot at each crash site. I salvaged 34 ships (Ships by Class: 14 A, 12 B, 8 C).

The Units/hour will be somewhat limited by the number of Ship Slots you have open. Profit time will be better for beginners with many open ship slots than for veterans who only have one or two free slots. I'm running with about 5 or 6 free slots.

Start by finding a Farm Planet. I have found that T3 (Strong) Economies have a big impact on the Class of ships you find. In a poor system, you find mostly C Class ships. In a rich system, you find B through S most of the time. This has a big impact on your Units/hour. For very early game beginners, start by finding any random planet with the "Dissonance Detected" indicator.
Start shooting "Dissonance Resonator" creatures. You will trigger probably one defensive ship. Just ignore it and continue to farm. If you are flying low, you can see Dissonance Resonator creatures show up on your compass, which is easier than trying to spot them visually. These will mostly drop Inverted Mirrors, but also drops what you are looking for 20% of the time: Echo Locator. Keep going until you have at least one of those.
Equip your warp ship with an Economy Scanner. Warp only to T3...

My happy place is No Man's Sky. I will take myself and just sit on a planets' surface and watch the sky; the way the colors grab me - there's no way I can describe it. It's so calming. Peaceful. I absolutely love it here. My mind clears and the stressor of the day just dissipate. I'm not good at taking photos, not by any means (that's my daughter), but if I could share every screenshot I've taken, I would, just to help some feel my emotion 💙 These are nothing special, thats okay with me, but I can feel the anxiety leave me just by looking at these.

What to do about Planetary Settlements to make them ACTUALLY fun and and engaging! ((Future Update Idea)) [Suggestion]

I've already submitted to Zendesk. I'm really excited about this idea so I thought I'd share here as well:

Planetary Settlements require a lot of...waiting and hoping. Too much. You find one, it has some arbitrarily large, inconsequential debt, then you put down buildings which only either boost productivity or population, then you wait for the debt to go down in the next few real-time days. Oh good, after all that this settlement will now produce 300 Rusted Metal in the timespan of a week.

HERE'S WHAT TO DO TO MAKE THIS BETTER!

We already have what we need in the game to make settlements not only engaging but fun as well: Frigates. This change would make your Planetary Settlement essentially one manageable frigate where instead of like your freighter where you recruit frigates which have their own individual combat, industrial, exploration, and trade stats, the settlement would have it's own combat, industrial, exploration, and trade stats and their starting stats would depend on the system in which you've decided to adopt a settlement.

To boost these stats to your liking you would go out in the galaxy and recruit NPCs from all over the place. Be it space stations, trade outposts, autophage settlements, and normally-generated NPC buildings, etc. The systems would largely affect which NPCs would be found there(combat, industrial, exploration, trade-focused) and act the same as frigates' "perks" do where each recruited NPC would have a single perk to their individual selves which boosts your settlement's stats. The settlement would still have it's own perks which are lost and gained through the development process. Recruited NPCs would be additional to the settlement's natural population, maybe up to 12 player-recruited NPCs.

Anyone Able to Play Multiplayer? [Bug]

I am able to join a buddies lobby or a buddy can join me but its constant de-sync bugs. Breaking all the time ships not spawning properly or just cant use things and sentinels constantly on us and cant be lost unless I'm at my ship or out of the system.

S-Class Pirate dreadnought [Screenshot]

I had just picked up a S-class venator after spending 2 days looking for one when i came across a Pirate dreadnought in a Blue star system doing the last parts of the starbirth mission. As someone who just really started playing a few weeks ago after not playing since launch i have to say that was the most fun i've had in this game so far. It took a few tries to figure out how to take that ship down but it was definately fun.

Died - can't find grave [Question]

I'm fairly early into a new playthrough and was doing one of the quests. I get to the location, get the info then get attacked and die. When the game reloaded - no grave marker, no quest marker, damaged bits, and all my suit stuff was gone. Is it possible to find the grave or am I screwed and have to spend hours trying to gather all the stuff I had before?

Glitch preventing me from progressing in the Expedition. Help? [Bug]

For some reason, All 5 of the Rendezvous objectives unlocked for me for no reason during this current expedition. This wouldn't be a problem if not for the fact that I still need to go to those systems in order to take screenshots, and because the Rendezvous missions are complete, I can't use the "Expedition Path" guide on the map screen anymore. And obviously I can't use the space station teleporter to get there since I've never been to the system before. All of the bases listed in the space station are just for the current system as well, I can't find any in the R3 system.

Can someone help me? I don't think I can proceed like this.

And what I would do to fix it: 1. Flavor text such as in the case of the utopia speeder should actually be in the game. Don’t just tell me it’s faster in atmosphere, have it actually be faster. 2. Story elements should be seen in some cases. I’m talking about cutscenes, even if they are picture slideshows, to accompany the text would be massively more engaging 3. Show us more lore! Again, don’t just tell us something is happening, show us! Like war ruins from when the Gek tried to kill everyone, and other in-game findables that contribute to the lore of the game

I know being a game dev is hard, and I’m incredibly grateful for everyone at Hello games for making this game, but these suggestions would make the experience much more immersive than it is now

Why the hell do they have a surface! These are not gas giants, they're just really big rocky planets. It's in the damn name! GAS giant! If there is a "surface" on real gas giants its so far down towards the core of the planet you would have no hope of reaching it. I know NMS is not realistic with many things, but this just seems incredibly stupid. I suppose I should have looked up gas giants in NMS before doing that quest. If I had I would have just left it alone.

FYI ship salvage glitch fixed [Information]

Dunno if it’s been posted yet, I missed it if it was. The glitch where you could salvage a ship for parts (wings, cockpit, whatever) and quickly switch to a different ship and still retain the original is fixed. Just tried it to test some different colors on my favorite solar ship and lost the ship. It now says something like Salvage Operations In Progress on the screen when you try to swap ships.

I'm always building on my master workbook of NMS data, but the cooking and bait info is pretty near complete now. If anybody wants to know what bait buffs you get from items, without making literally every recipe in the book, I've done it for you :)

Titan world update tanking my fps [Bug]

Recently I was able to play on all high/ultra mix settings with 165 fps pretty good, but after the update a few weeks back the game has just been tanking my fps, is anyone else having performance issues and is there a fix to this, in space it’s fine I got solid fps still but once I’m on a planet or inside my freighter/space anomaly it goes anywhere from 30-80 fps, I have a fairly new gpu and cpu, both last years release and are better then the recommended requirements. Is this just a me thing or is everyone experiencing issues? And again if someone has a fix do let me know. Dlss and frame gen make It worse , and unbearable as well.

Mission bug? [Bug]

So it says my settlement is under attack I have gone multiple times and it's nit under attack. I go into the log to change the mission and even if I have another mission picked it will still give me this. I can't progress through anything cuase this mission keeps popping up and no matter what I do it will not go away.

For some reason, whenever I try to use the portal and input glyphs (for the Living Ship quest) after I've charged the portal and pressed "Activate the Portal, " I try to input the glyphs... But for some reason, when I click the slots to input the glyphs, it only says "Glyphs Unavailable"

FPS drops with new titan update [Bug]

Recently I was able to play on all high/ultra mix settings with 165 fps pretty good, but after the update a few weeks back the game has just been tanking my fps, is anyone else having performance issues and is there a fix to this, in space it’s fine I got solid fps still but once I’m on a planet or inside my freighter/space anomaly it goes anywhere from 30-80 fps, I have a fairly new gpu and cpu, both last years release and are better then the recommended requirements. Is this just a me thing or is everyone experiencing issues? And again if someone has a fix do let me know. Dlss and frame gen make It worse , and unbearable as well.

Looking for a fix/mod to remove fur from rendering in holograms during scans. [Bug]

My game crashes with the error message "failed to initialize vulkan swap change" and it only happens when i try to scan animals with fur. Is it possible to make a mod to disbale fur from rendering on animals at all? or to stop the hologram from rendering during scans? I have tried updating/reinstalling my drivers, (didnt work). Please give suggestions on possible fixes.

Can't get the wraith after I finished the expedition [Question]

I just finished expedition 17 and when I went to booth to claim the wraith the only ship I could claim was the starter ship from the expedition, not the wraith since I thought you could claim it after. What do I do now? Can I still get it somehow? Or do I just not get it due to a stupid mistake?

My favorite planet sucks now [Discussion]

Pretty much the title lol. I haven't played in a few years but I decided to play again for the newest expedition, when I went to check out my base on my favorite planet i saw that they'd changed the whole biome. It used to be a whole planet of hills with the occasional sinkhole lakes. It had dark green grass and clear, ruby red water. All the plants were shaped like giant mushrooms and at night they would all pulse with bioluminescent light while waves of light rippled through the grass. It was the most beautiful planet I've found and now it's all gone. No mushrooms no glowing grass. Just bushy shrubs and cloudy pink water. I almost wanna cry lol.

Different planets [Question]

Im pretty sure the answer is "No" but im wondering if its possible to get a sort of 'combined biome' planet, or maybe a planet with the incorrect flora/fauna?

I would absolutely love a paradise world with the firey flora/fauna, or mabe a flaming world with no storms/sentinels. I doubt its possible but if anyone knows it would be appreciated

Freighter Hyperdrive Upgrades not available. [Question]

I'd like to install Cadmium, Indium & Emeril Drives to my Freighter since I have them on my Starships.

There is nothing available in the Freighter Upgrade Control Console on the Freighter or the Freighter Tab in my Tab Menu.

Simple things are made complicated in NMS.

What is Best Platform for NMS on PC [Question]

I am a nintendoer forever, but with the potential for cross save ,thought I could put it on my PC to see it in glorious technicolor, experience the FULL game, and utilise my current Switch saves progress etc etc .I already have my switch passing through an elgato card and so use my BIG PC screen ( can work and play at same time via spilt screen) and use Nintendo Pro Controller( drift and all). Thoughts and tips please. ty

Exocraft bug? [Question]

This my 3rd asking for help since I just picked up the game again (Xbox). I’m trying to get into game a bunch more than I would consider myself casual player. I finally decided to finish some of the story lines from when I first started.

One thing that may have been added and I finally decided to implement is Expcrafts.

So I have an issue - built Exocraft platform and when platform is built my exocraft wheels are spinning at 1000 MPH. I’m not even in it. The wheels look like they become distorted due to wheels spinning so fast. I get in and exocraft doesn’t move. I tried all of the buttons to drive this thing and it won’t move at all. Yes I have the engine fueled up. I tried calling exo away from platform on another planet etc… nothing works.

So I decided to research the hover craft to see if that works. Well the hover craft moves but in a weird way. Slow sluggish and when I try to go up a hill it just stops. It’s a start but I think the hover is also bugged.

So someone says exocrafts are bugged. Is this true why hasn’t this been fixed ASAP? Someone said they work on some planets not others. WTH!

I still love the game so far.

Ok so I see some screenshots here and there of some people having more than 3 Sclass upgrades on there things and I can only have 3 or it overloads …sooo does the amount change for class like if you have an S class can you have more or what’s the deal there

Someone gaves me a weird egg on the anomaly. Looks like I have a walker pet and I also can damage it, so I can basically summon sentinels whenever I want 🥰 unfortunately I can't interact with it, but I'll keep it as it is. Does anyone else got something similar?

Leaning/tilted gravity on moons in gas giant systems [Question]

Is this a feature or a bug? It was kinda neat my first time or two exploring these moons, but it’s lost its charm. It’s super disorienting and makes setting up camp there less than appealing. Just wondering if I should expect the leaning to stick around or if a fix is en route
