Wrong Multi-tool Getting Renamed After 5.58 [Bug]

Returned the Atlas Scepter to my primary save from the expedition and it lost its name. Tried renaming it, but seemed like nothing happened. But when looking at my other multi-tools, the first in the list was now named Atlas Scepter. Tried renaming the other multi-tools and none got the new name, the name was applied to the first multi-tool every time.

Any one notice this? Guess the fix for the names shifting left one multi-tool, just created a new naming bug, and still didn't fix the multi-tool returned from expedition losing its custom name. (PS5)

Worried my save may be completely shot. Numerous bugs with quests/log [Bug]

So I beelined through artemis and atlas path quests to get to In Stellar Multitudes. Was preparing to do They Who Returned (and in process of figuring out how to start it.) last night before the update. Post update when I logged on and had all my bounty quests replaced with multiple copies of Base Computer Archives in my log.

When Pulsing around I encountered the NPC for In Stellar Multitudes (note I had not yet even started They Who Returned so that shouldn't've happened) didn't know better so went through ISM quest until I needed the Assembled Construct. Looked up that and found out it's created during TWR so started doing that.

Got to the Earn Staff Core Blueprint part and can present my grip. But the Bounty it has me start has NO OBJECTIVE and a bugged reward window 1/2 is my staff core but 2/2 is BLANK.

taking the quest has it show "new quest" pop up but with a white square instead of a picture.

Quest autocompletes, I get standing but no Staff Core Blueprint

Can then present Grip to quest Autophage again and repeat the bug.

I really don't want this save to be ruined as I just got my first living ship a day ago.

Am I doomed?

Confused about They Who Returned/In Stellar Multitudes progression [Question]

I recently finished the main Artemis and Atlas storylines and began exploring Eissentam and decided to do the other story quests.

I was making good progress on The Settlers, waiting for my objective to update saying I was free to explore to start A Trace of Metal. Before I had time to finish what I was doing in the current system I was in, my objective updated and I ended up sending my settlers on a 40 min long expedition, so I figured I would explore my last planet and log off while it completed.

When I logged back in on planet I got a notification saying I had started a new quest, and it was They Who Returned. I don't think this was supposed to happen because my log acted as though I had already made progress on the quest even though I never talked to any NPC related to that quest nor have I been to a harmonic camp. I installed the technology it asked me to and it began an event when I was using my pulse engine in space and the quest In Stellar Multitudes started then.

Now I'm pretty sure this isn't how these quests are supposed to go? I feel like I missed a lot of content and I can't seem to reset them or delete progress entirely with a save editor. Any help is appreciated!

Big Walker still not spawning [Question]

As of today (3/5/25), even the after the latest patch, I still can't get the 5-star boss walker to spawn at the end of sentinel battles. This is killing my walker brain farm. Is anyone else having this issue?

Cachepin glitch - has something changed? [Question]

I recently learned how to use this glitch (thanks Beeblebum!) and it was working relatively well (timing XD), but in the last two days something seems to have changed.

I can place one copy of a part only; any further attempts of the same part lead to a base computer. I've also noticed that if I try to select a part from the catalogue while one exists in the world, I can no longer pin it because the moment I leave the Log menu the mini-quest completes instantly, preventing me from caching the part. Anyone else having issues?

I have no idea what changed but last i played was before the auto-phage was added now apparently my save is gone after updating. Guess a fresh start isn't so bad but I will miss my S-class multi tool.

I’m stuck offline and in the exobiology expedition for a couple of days while I wait for my companion to increase in trust 5% each day. Should be done by Friday.

I've recently started playing NMS and am having a great time with it. I remember the initial reveal, and when I go back and look at it, it doesn't look much different from what we currently have. So, I'm interested in hearing what exactly was promised when the game was revealed, what wasn't in the game when it released, and what came to the game over the subsequent years of support.

So, you're travelling to the centre of the galaxy and every now and then you've got to pop back to a base to harvest some plants or stop infighting in a settlement... How do you make sure you can jump back to the system you just left to continue your journey?

For anyone who needs to hear this: Try expeditions! [Suggestion]

I started playing NMS some time around 2019 on PS4. Back then I didn't have PS plus and only tried it for a few months on other games. So most of the time in the game I spent offline. So I was playing the game on and off since 2019 and only recently got it on steam.

When Expeditions was first introduced I just didn't think much about it since I didn't have online services anyway and wasn't interested in playing with others that much. I thought you had to work together with others to get into an expedition. So I didn't even bother looking into it.

Recently I saw so many people flying around in those Millennium Falcon-looking ships or The Wraith.

That made me look up the expeditions and how to start one. And well.. I just gotta say I missed out on so much stuff. I wish there was a way to do all expeditions again since I only did the 17th. I had so much fun and I can't wait for the 18th expedition.

So if you haven't: try starting an expedition. It's a lot of fun and you get great rewards for it.

New player [Discussion]

Hello…kzzt…travellers,

In 2018ish I tried NMS for the first time but never understood what the game was so I eventually dropped it. However, about a month ago it popped up in a conversation and I felt like trying it again, especially now that open world and upgrade and exploration games are my favourite.

Yup, this is my favourite game OAT. Never felt this confident saying that.

Anyways, I’m 59ish hours in and sure I get the game is massive and I still have so much to do (I haven’t even mastered all upgrades yet or gotten a full S class set of equipment/vehicles) and I always fear the fact that at some point i won’t have anything to do but end up spending literally a whole session trying to find smth for smyh for smth.

For example, in the Atlas Path mission- I just went to the station after handing all 10 orbs and I saw somewhere that I have one more station to find? Like, did I almost just finish one of the main storylines already?

I want someone to knock some sense into me and really overwhelm me from how big the game is.

I've been warping around for over an hour though systems with "water" marker but my log still says "no water worlds detected in current system". I know that rendezvous -2 was on a water world but I can't find it again and my terminus only has rendezvous 1 and 3.

Best multitool for beam damage vs enemies? [Question]

I am interested in finding the most damage that can be done with the mining beam to enemies. I was wondering which multitool would be strongest?

I am unsure as the Sentinel or Staff seems to have the highest damage stat however the Alantid has the most mining beam increase.

I know the difference is likely not major but I was curious if anyone knew the answer to this concretely.

Do you keep creating new saves to see if you get a great starter system? [Question]

If not, how do I stop this addiction? I have a main save and that was perfect, but I’m really trying to let go of my starter system and move somewhere else, but I don’t have the heart to let my original paradise planet go. And every new save I make isn’t up to my standards… gosh that sounds picky.

Please help me change my mind on creating new saves every day spending hours finding the perfect one. I just want to stick with one save and go from there. ❤️

Does Expedition make the game easier? [Question]

Last year I won the game and made a 16-hour save. I liked the game but stopped due to lack of time. After the recent updates and the Titan 17 expedition, I decided to play again.

First time doing an expedition, I started a new game, but I think it makes the beginning much easier. Not that it's easy, but it gives you several advantages like freeing up 7 inventory spaces at once or unlocking a technology when completing a task.

My questions as a noob: When I finish the expedition, I can continue with the save, but where and from what point will it be? What do I take with me from the expedition? If I start a new game after completing the expedition, will I get the unique items from it?

Can I return to the planets and systems I visited on the expedition after I complete it?

A question but it's not about that lol but where can I get new visual pieces for my character?

Thank you for helping me better understand how expeditions work, I couldn't find this information clearly.

Stuck on base missions [Question]

I have to bring the scientist's core to a monolith. The problem is the monolith is on a place were one planet is stuck in another, so I can't reach it. Is there a way to reset this mission or change the monolith's location? The overseer now wants me to talk to the scientist about farming but the scientist is unresponsive because it's missing it's core.

I hope somebody can help! I have 30 hours in this file and I would be sad if I had to start a new one.

About the game progression [Question]

Hi! Im new to the game and so far i've been having a blast with it. One of my fave games is starbound and the feeling i had while playing it of "man, i wished there was a game like this in 3D" pretty much became a reality with no man's sky.

I have played some hours, completed the basic tutorial, unlocked the sphere space base that you can "summon", bought a cruise and so on. The thing is, i feel like im doing something wrong in terms of progression. Im doing the missions in the mentioned space base that gives you lots of money and nanites and travelling from black hole to black hole, but i dont know if that's what i sould be doing, if i should "complete" all you can do in a solar system before moving on, you get the point.

Right now im invested in building a cool base and collecting creatures y see in different planets so i can mess with the egg thing in the space base and make a zoo. Also trying to get the update to travel to blue and red star systems.

Is this a normal feeling towards how you progress in the game or am i just straight up messing with it by travelling so much?

There should be a global wonders section. [Suggestion]

A section where you can see, the hottest planet recorded by anyone, the deepest ocean recorded by anyone, the most aggressive creature discovered by anyone, etc. It would be pretty cool to be able to compare your wonders to a definitive world record of sorts. Would be pretty cool i think.

HG please create some sort of big storage in Anomaly… [Suggestion]

And get everyone access it, besides what we already have in place which is duping stuff on ppl, the usually don’t need it or want their experience being ruined, this way ppl would choose what they want to get rid off, and ones in for some goodies could just claim items from selection there. Just something I thought about reading both sides of the story in terms of duping wanted or unwanted stuff.

Venator [Question]

Hey travellers... Quick question.

I'm hunting for an S-Class Resurgent Venator and I prefer not to use glyphs and find it "au natural".

Does it work like the pirate battles where once you find one, you can warp away and back from the system to restart with a new spawn? I've done this about 5 times now and I think I'm seeing the same freighter - the name doesn't change and the class has been the same each time.

What goals should I set for myself to enjoy the game long term? [Question]

Here are my current goals, I would appreciate next steps for me!

So far goals I can see: - S class Pistol type multitool for Mining and Scanning with S class upgrades for scanner and mining laser with all extra upgrades bought from Anomaly (i.e. + 50% resource gain overclockable to 88%) - at least S class rifle but best would be S class sentinel multitool with S class upgrades for chosen guns and sentinel upgrades) - EXOSUIT S class upgrades for shield/heat/cold/radiation/toxic with best sentinel upgrades for health / shield. S class upgrades for the flying pack and all anomaly upgrades (maybe skip jumping one) - SHIP - best upgrades from anomaly for all components + S class upgrades for chosen guns - FREIGHER - keep killing pirates and saving freighters until you can claim free S class - QUESTS - push Artemis and later Apollo and unlock base building quests which will give a lot of free blueprints (storage containers etc) - push other story quests like Atlas i don't know why just do it - push all quests from all races for free stuff and guild standing and free items from guild

Ongoing: + unlock slots where needed (EXOSUIT tech + cargo, ship etc) + later move on to Minotaur Mech and Exocraft (why do I need them?)

No Man's Sky Low GPU utilization / Framerate Cap [Information]

I recently encountered a strange bug, where my No Man's Sky was capped at 72FPS, despite having a higher framerate cap, both in game and in Nvidia driver panel.

I was able to resolve the issue eventually by performing an in game reset on the graphics settings. (The reset button, not the graphics presets).

Hopefully this can help someone searching for this issue. It was driving me crazy and I didn't find anything in a few days. This post is only meant for people searching for this specific issue.

I suspect the bug was caused by me launching the game in VR (Quest 3 and Steam VR), where my VR headset had a 72 FPS framerate setting. Somehow those settings got persisted even when I stop using the VR.

Dissonant Planets are a Goldmine [Gameplay Spoilers] [Discussion]

I'm relatively new to the game, and the first thing I wanted to do when I started was make my own awesome, custom ship. Turns out this was way more expensive than I thought it would be, but after lots of impractical attempts to make money quickly, I've finally been fortunate enough to find a dissonant planet with no dangerous weather and relatively traversible terrain. Am I the only one who has noticed that these planets are basically a huge money machine? You can farm Sentinel Interceptors. Just fly around in your ship blowing up Dissonance Resonators, collecting the Inverted Mirrors and Echo Locators. You can thn scrap those for huge amounts of money. I get anywhere between 11 and 33 million units for them. Once you get your first interceptor, destroying the Dissonance Resonators these becomes even easier with the hover capabilities. And, of course, you can use those units to get Suspicious Packets, convert them to Nanites, build up your fleet and run expeditions, etc. You can alsoget Nanites by farming Atlantideum, which you can then refine into Pugneum and Nanite Clusters.

tl;dr: Dissonant Planets are where the money is at. Is there a better method that I don't know about?

PS. I don't have them offhand but later, if anyone wants, I'll gladly give you the coordinates to this place.

Galaxy Map after Worlds Part II [Question]

Is it possible that the arrangement of the star systems is totally disordered?

for example, let's take the yellow star systems: before the Worlds Part II update

The system types F or G appeared one after the other. Depending on the position, there were only yellow system types with F. A little further away there were types with G and so on...

Since the update, this order no longer exists. Somehow I also have the impression that the specifications are much less informative than before...for example, if you are looking for a paradise planet 🥲

I have spent the last few days working on this under and overwater base.

The underwater has refiner, appearance modification, Bio-Dome with plants, viewing stations and teleportation facilities.

On the water there is a club with a dance floor and light wall. There are three landing pads and an area for fishing.

What's the weirdest Discovery you made? [Question]

The weirdest discovery that I made was this one planet had these egg-shaped rocks and egg-shaped trees, with these weird squiggly guys that just rolled all over the place but the most notable thing about this place was the bonefish that just dug in the ground, and the flying worms in the sky, I'm definitely going to have to go back to get a screenshot of what I'm talking about, but this was near the start of the game it was the planet that orbits around my starter planet, so if I found a planet that weird at the start, I can't even imagine how weird are other planets can get the further out I go.

I see people posting pics of them having all ship slots filled with different types of ships or in some cases the same ship in different colours lol. But I was wondering, is there much point in having a hauler, a fighter and a Explorer? It seems a hassle to go switch between them all to fit the ideal roles. E.G, you just did you furthest jump so far in your explorer and now you want to sell all the stuff stored in your hauler, so you go into your capital ship and get the hauler out and as your leaving the docking area, pirates turn up, so you have to u-turn to get your fighter out instead. Because if you're not using each ship to its maximum, what's the point in having one in each class?

I just use one ship for everything and sell for scraps any I come across, but was wondering if there was a benefit to keeping some of them around.

How to fix the “User has Left the System” Glitch? [Bug]

Hello, I cannot figure out how to play with my friend after this never ending glitch that just started happening to us. We played all day yesterday perfectly fine co-op the whole way thru and now anytime I join my friend or he joins me, within 5-10 seconds after "user has joined the system" I will see my friend and it will suddenly say "user has left the system" making it unplayable for us both in co-op.

I have found old reddit posts of people having the same problem but never finding a solution. Does anyone know about this problem or how to fix it? Please help thanks!

Calling all Nerdy Shiphunters! [Discussion]

I have somewhere in the realm of 1800 hours in this game, and I found something I think is unusual. Wondering if anyone else has seen this? Forgive the long text, I’m feeling verbose. TL;DR at the end.

Bumbling around a pirate-controlled Vy’keen system, I see a fighter flying through the atmosphere that I think has a wing configuration that I’ve been looking for. Couldn’t quite get a good look at it, so I thought: I’ll just post up at a trade outpost and wait for it to show up. After waiting a long time and not seeing it, I figured it’s one of those ships that just spawns more rarely than others. If you have ever hunted for ships with regularity, you know what I’m talking about.

So I started marking down the names of the fighters as they show up. I get to six, and then I’m waiting for that magical seventh ship to arrive. It never does. Three IRL days later, playing a couple hours at a time, and I was still looking for it. While waiting, I noticed that there were only ever two explorers and only two haulers that would appear. No shuttles. Finally I start counting the solar ships, and there are 10! So the solar ships didn’t just replace shuttles, they replaced one each of the other types. Has anyone else seen this?

In the end, I realize I was mistaken and what I thought was the wing configuration I was looking for was actually a different one all together. :(

I might be the only one in this community old enough to remember an American sitcom called Perfect Strangers. There’s an episode where Balki Bartokomous realizes there aren’t as many raisins in the box of raisin bran as are advertised, so he buys like 20 boxes and individually counts all the raisins to realize we’re all being cheated by Big Raisin Bran Corp. I’m feeling a little like Balki. FML

TL;DR: while ship hunting, I realized there were only 6 fighters in a Vy’keen system...

I just got the Starborn ship😁 [Question]

Hi fellow travelers,

I just bought the Starborn ship from the dlc release for 1200-1500 nanites. I love it! Im progressing through the story for the first time since a day 1 player. I left this game for years, just to get it cooked to perfection. If I kept playing I would be having so much money and nanites. I also have my first C class freighter. So proud of my babysteps🤣

But, I love it

Do you have any tips/advice for me? Im still looking for the specials weapons, walking cane, cape and stuff like that😁

Can somebody help me optimize the settings for my game?? [Question]

GPU: RTX 2060
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor 3.70 GHz

Installed RAM: 16.0 GB

I don't know, specifically, how to set my anti aliasing. DLSS seems to work pretty good, but all of my screenshots come out looking like garbage, and I'd really like them to be as nice as they look while I'm playing. I tend to play in 1080p, with a cold boot I can do 2160 and 1440 while keeping most of my settings high, but performance turns to garbage about an hour into playing on 2160, then after playing a while longer 1440 turns to garbage, and I end back at 1080p where everything works again. I tried one other AA option, I THINK FXAA, but I can't remember. It didn't seem to make much difference, and the screenshots were still terrible (though the environments didn't look as bad as with DLSS.)

I play on a 62 Inch TV, and it looks really good, but I don't understand the graphical options too much. Does anyone have any tips on finding a perfect graphics:performance ratio that might help me? Bonus points if it unbreaks my screenshots.

Oh yes, secondary question, when I use windows to take a screenshot, for some reason the result is incredibly faded and washed out, I think it might have something to do with HDR settings, but I'm not entirely sure. The only way I can take a decent screenshot is by recording a video of myself playing, and then take a windows screenshot from said video once it has been rendered. No bueno funno.

Thanks guy, I'm not asking for as much as it probably sounds like, just some tips and tricks for this game's settings if you have em :)

Are bases save-based or account-based? [Question]

My main save got glitched and I have to start a new one if I want to progress through the quest logs and eventually hope to get to purple systems. I can easily get to the region of space that I play in, but I'm wondering what to expect ahead of time. Can I access my constructed bases on my new save? Or am going to have to remake everything? I feel pretty certain it'll be the first one, but thought I'd check for a happy surprise.

Bubble Paradise? [Question]

How rare are paradise planets with bubble effects now? Does anyone have any tips for finding them? A few years ago I found one without even trying on PS4, and now I'm playing on PC and wondering if I was just insanely lucky or if they were more frequent back then. What the heck??? [Question]

So here I was in the Titan save after I finished it and continuing on doing the Artemis mission. I enter the portal after working with Apollo and talk to the Atlas. I come back after that and call for my ship. Nowhere to be found in my menu. Had some other blue ship I'd never seen before. It had the same name as my original ship. I called it. Totally different ship. I had the red fighter from the Twitch rewards. The fighter from awhile back, jet cockpit, triple engines, vector wings. Gone. Now I've got some blue dragster fighter with star jumper wings. What the heck?? Okay I go to the anomoly. Check my Twitch rewards, not in there. Where'd my ship go? I figure okay I'll go back to a previous save. Reload the save and WHAT a different ship? Yes it changed AGAIN! What in the world is going on????? Now it's a tan one with the three jets, star jumper wings and the rasa cockpit. So now I'm stuck with it. How do I get my ship back or am I hosed?

Expedition end confusion [Question]

So I managed to finish all milestones etc and wantend to end the expedition but I just cannot find out. I started from existing save on anomaly (as this might mean something) and wanted to transfer some stuff back which I cant - clicking on cargo or technology slots via the expedition terminal does nothing. What I can do is copy the ship or multitool from expedition to main save and that is about it. I was able to transfer some stuff from main save TO expedition at the begining however. Anyway even if I would not want to transfer anything, there is no End button in the terminal screen. In expedition there is “return to main save” and in the main save there is “return to expedition”. I tried looking it up as there are multiple posts about this but really could not understand/find what to do about it..

Please give us 1 or two more paint styles, that we have without playing expeditions and make it possible, to choose paint styles for the different color areas.

Let us rotate the ship and change the zoom.

Fix the bug, that makes it impossible to choose colors for Solar ships. It's annoying, that I have the bad luck, that they are always green for me.

Let us recolor them and maybe switch parts later.

Trouble finding Gas Giants [Question]

I finished my Atlas Quest. I have my Atlantid Drive. I also finished the quest to create my own solar system and anchored it. Every system that looks purple I go to does not have any of the new planets. I have only found one system with a giant planet and a water world but that’s it. Any other tips? I’m looking for X or Y on the system for example it will say 00LY / X3 / Type but I’m still having difficulty finding any new planets

New save expedition [Question]

I'm doing my first expedition but rather than loading up my save and starting it from the Anomaly, I just selected expedition from the main menu. It gave me a random character etc. If I complete it, will the rewards carry over to my real character or have I just wasted like 5 hours of my life? Lol wasn't even thinking about it at the time but it just dawned on me when I was loading up again that my expedition save is in a different save slot so probably completely seperate to my main character. 😭

S Class Dreadnought spawned in less than an hour of play [Screenshot]

Ive been playing for years but took a break for a while and decided to come back in December to replay last years expeditions. I had seen pictures of the dreadnought and thought it was cool, but never went actively looking for one. I had a small but cool s class system freighter that I really enjoyed. I've had big capital ships in previous saves so having a small s class was a nice change. It felt more immersive i guess

I stumbled upon an s class dreadnought randomly after saving a venator and immediately took it as my new space base. This was in December. I was in less than 10 total battles before acquiring it. I've since gone back to barely playing but decided to play a bit today. Welp, after playing for less than an hour, I warped to a pirate system and was again greeted with a freighter battle. In total, im still probably between 10-20 battles. And to my surprise, I have just found my second s class dreadnought and took it. I upgraded the fleet coordination slightly and changed from a gek to vykeen crew.

I was always under the assumption you needed to play for 2-3 hours before an s class would spawn, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

To all those looking for theirs still, I hope it finds you. I've personally enjoyed letting it come naturally and have been truly surprised for each one.

Nautilon Spotllight and Lights 5.58 [Discussion]

The latest patch 5,58 made the Nautilon spotlight a harsh blue color and it reflects the muck in the water, making it hard to see and appreciate the beauty of deep oceans. The light used to be a soft yellow I think. Would be great if the light were reverted to yellow with the option to turn it off along with the blinking lights.

Help! [Question]

HELP please?!

Im a new player and have a normal save with 60 hours or so of progress, but I've done a lot in those 60 hours. I started the expedition in a new save just to see what it was about, and when I went to exit and go to my normal save, it was gone!!! The only save is the expedition one. I've tried pausing the expedition in the anomaly, but the terminus just says "Terminus inaccessible // Complete the current expedition" every time I try to access it.

I really just want my normal save back, but I can't find it. I've tried restarting the game, but it doesn't appear on the game saves page, there's no option to pause the expedition in the options menu when playing the save. Idk what to do and feel like crying tbh 😭😓

I've completed phase 1 of the expedition and I'm playing on Switch if that makes any difference?

Galactic Hub's Moderations is off the rails [Information]

TLDR: Galactic Hub's main moderator and frequent NMS bans people for... Expressing ideas?
I was a member of the Galactic hub Discord, I liked their idea of a civilized space.
When I interacted in chat a couple hours ago about an idea I had, That being of having more external conflict for the galactic hub (as in having a rival faction for narrative purposes) I was enganged in a positive discussion about the idea, No swearing or personal insults whatsoever, Then when 7101334 (Which is one of the moderators of the Galactic Hub's subreddit and discord) argued that it was an Utopia and no strive could appear in one
So, I argued about it a bit, Like I said nothing personal, Just expressing my idea of how it could work...
I got timed out for a week, Which I tried to appeal to 7101334 which he responded "A utopia can ban people for dumb DMs too. Watch!" and banned me forever from interacting with a cool community.

How can a moderation team ban you for having an idea and discussing it in a general chat? or for trying to appeal a time out?

Unexpected S-Class Multitool Find [Screenshot]

While visiting my old bases to clean them up, I stopped by space stations in each system. I wasn’t expecting much, but then I found a classic-style S-Class multitool in a cabinet. It looks ordinary, but it has four adjacent supercharged slots, making it incredibly versatile for combat, mining, or utility.

Why does everyone play as Anomalies? [Question]

I know anomalies are the "default" race and that's what you start out as but always in the space anomaly I only see anomalies and maybe a few travellers. I get it's a preference for people of what you want to play as but I swear I rarely see vy'keen or korvax players. I used to play as a gek in the beginning but then lived in a korvax system and fell in love with them. I used a korvax model for the longest time until the autophage came out and immediately grinded the mission to become one and I have switched since. Do people prefer anomalies and travellers over other races for customizability or for some other reason? I'm just curious.

5x system jumps not triggering Freighter Battles [Question]

For context Ive been looking for a dreadnaught but they haven’t appeared normally since i started the settlement mission. I read that this mission interferes with how the battles spawns and to fix it i just had to progress through the mission.

So i got all the minotaur parts for the settlement. Then i decided to test to see if i can trigger a battle doing the 5x system jumps and i got one but after that it stopped working again.

Does anyone have any tips for using new stuff? Such as ships and multi tools. I've been playing for a long time but I still use the default stuff because changing all my gear is really overwhelming. I've got a few ships but I don't know which ones are good and I should focus on upgrading. Can I swap all the stuff on my multi tools now to one that I buy? Seriously, how do I deal with sentinels? [Question]

Why is it that everywhere on the internet says just escape them and they'll leave you alone? How far do I go to escape?

I have left the planet and come back after an hour or so and they're still hunting me down. I've seen them travel half way across a planet to get to me. I thought hiding in a base would work, but it doesn't seem to matter how long they can't see you, they are always still on you.

The only thing I can think of is they are scanning me for an item in my exosuit they don't want me to have. Either way, what is the best way to get them to screw off?

I wish there was more to do [Discussion]

Like, I get that there is a lot to do, I just wish there was more. We have 3 main races, and that's cool, but what if the races had factions? Each race might have 1 faction in the current system, and those factions have missions. When you reach a certain level, maybe those factions give you missions for neighboring systems. Your rep for that faction would be specific to the origin station, and ultimately this gives incentive to work in a particular system later into the game. (rather than a trail of abandoned bases)

How about exploration completion? Beacons on each planet that unlock a special chamber that has lots of rewards, rather than incentivizing galaxy traversal. Pirate faction rep unlocks, for new capital ship skins. Map complete enough systems and you unlock a turn based strategy game around capturing galactic territory.

Full disclosure, I've stopped playing about a year ago, but every time I think about coming back, it's off-putting to consider that it's just going to be the same scan grind, maybe a little fighting, then jump to the next sector. Leagues were a cheap way to make that loop exciting. I don't think it worked.

Question about Expeditions [Question]

I've played for awhile, since about 2017 ish but life got the better of me and I stopped playing for quite some time and pretty recently just got back into it. I just haven't gotten super into the story/progressing further than I had to. I just enhoy going around and exploring. I've seems stuff about Expeditions, but never really understood them. Are they like timed events where once they're over and I can't get the cosmetic stuff anymore? Can I go back and do it, or is it just done and I missed it? And what even is an expedition? What do you do?

Stastically speaking, is there a planet that looks exactly like Earth (from space) in NMS? [Discussion]

The "I found Earth" posts got me thinking,.. there are over 18 quintillion planets, right? Does that mean that somewhere, in the game, there's probably a planet that looks almost exactly like Earth from space? I'm talking a green and blue surface where the green parts look almost exactly like Earth's continents, in exactly the right positions and sizes. Does this planet probably exist somewhere in NMS?

Why are freighter upgrades different? [Question]

So I have visited a well-known system to scavenge some S-class freighter hyperdrive upgrades. While working for those I’ve gotten many other upgrades. Fleet upgrades of 4 or more types, S class. As I assume I can only use 3 (of each?), I have extra now. I went to the space station to trade them for Nantes, as I do with any excess upgrades, but that seems unavailable.

I also can’t sell them at the galactic trade terminal. What am I supposed to do with excess freighter upgrades?

Are the Corrupted Terminals...corrupted now? [Question]

I go to the terminal, remove the Living Slime, 'Analyse the Data Logs', and receive a handful of nanites. As of the last couple of days though, I can stand at the terminal, repeat the process, and basically it's a nanite ATM for as long as I want to click through the dialogue. Works at different terminals in different systems, on different IRL days with multiple loads/saves in between. Surely this isn't by design, right?

Trouble warping to galactic core [Question]

Did they make it so you can no longer teleport to other people's bases during expenditions? They used to show up in the teleporter menu but for some reason now nothing shows up. I double checked that connection services are online it says yes... also playing on the Switch (if anyone could verify whether or not other people's bases show up for them), not sure if it's just a bug or what

Warped 25 times and can only find B- Class freighters? Is that the best I will be able to find? [Question]

Hey everyone, only got into the game recently, got my first freighter mission for the free freighter and go told that if you skip it, you get a better freighter on the next go. So far after that skip and multiple reloads I have only been offered B and C class capital ship, even after going to 3 star economies and black market systems. Anyone have any luck on finding an S or A class freighter?

Some tip for the sentinel farmers amongst us: if you are planning on scrapping a sentinel ship, disassemble the sentinel canon first. It’ll give you an inverted mirror. Sentinels usually come with two weapons installed, the canon and either a phase beam or rocket launcher. Leave the 2nd weapon in the ship, so you can disassemble the canon.

New Player Questions [Question]

Hello All,

I am a new player only some over 100 hours into the game. Let me explain before that I went into this game blind without googling or asking stuff before. I wanted to find out everything via exploring and got the hang of most of the stuff.

Yet theres a couple questions I cant really answer for myself and also googling doesnt really help me in this.

So I think I am doing Ok. I finished my first ever expedition (Titan) . Got the Wraith ship.

In my main save I also have an S Class freighter and a couple of A class sentinels i want to upgrade to s just because they look nice.

Now if someone could be so kind to answer my few questions: I wanted to install that thingy into my suit that I can summon my exo vehicles everywhere without my freighter to be in the system. It requires quartzite or activated quartzite which I remember finding on gas giants in the expedition, purple stars.

I cant seem to find purple stars OR quartzite outside the expedition in my main save. How can I find it? I even tried to set my expedition base as waypoint but no matter how far I jump i never seem to reach it.

Is it possible that purple stars or this element are new to the expedition and therefore only to be found there? If so this brings my to my other question. I finished the expedition but i didnt END it yet as i wasnt sure what all to bring over from there to my main save? When should I end the expedition and what kind of stuff ahould i bring over there to my main save ? Besides the new ship?

Coolest/ toughest looking multitools and where to find them? [Question]

I’d love to see what multi tools you have - specifically big, chunky, tough looking ones and also where to search for them

I have some pastel green and puce coloured rifle which is ok and does the job but not much to look at. I’ve built a couple of staff, but only really use that for photos - the rifle is my main weapon of choice and probably why the Vykeen think less of me 😞

I see harmonic camps have some sentinel multi tools, but so far they are only an OK rating.

TLC patch/pass? Progression/Ship Variety [Suggestion]

I recently played through the entire game again, and this is kinda just notes, I guess:

Ship Buffs:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fighter ships could automatically have more projectiles shot; as in 3-4 "guns" as opposed to the normal 2, or some kind of drone like the "Options" in Gradius. Haulers could have much deeper pocketed slots (like Freighter's slots), or tech upgrades that give direct access to storage containers (not necessarily "great" since you can just call in your freighter). Explorer warp range could be increased 10x; I save-game-edited my explorer to test a warp range 10x what it had, and it is SO satisfying. Still not game breaking, but the distance it can warp feels right. Solar ship could also recharge pulse fuel. Maybe also give it a collector to auto-grab resources in minimal amounts while zooming around. Maybe also recharge it's warp fuel. Living ships repair via food. Meat! Shuttles, with upgrades, get free take off/land. Also a "free" deterrent for pirates/enemies. You're flying that clunker?! They don't even check for valuables. Exotics, already fine I guess because they're more about being interesting for their own sake. Sentinel ships are also a wildcard here. It would be nice if they had "Stealth" against sentinel forces (as in the sentinels just assume you're one of them and don't attack unless you attack first), or allow you to duck in the ship and the drone types lose you.

Advancement/Progression:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This might require too much or be too big of an ask, but something to make more meaning behind the hyperdrive levels.

Currently you ONLY need wiring looms and the respective metal to get the hyperdrives to max. You can go from no hyperdrive to maxed out in an hourish, provided you can get the looms.

Suggestion (using Hyperdrives as example):

Normal Hyperdrive, as is.

Freighter decision as a beginner [Question]

I faithfully followed the advice and started a new game, only to dive headfirst into my first crisis full of excitement. Please ease my conscience.

I immediately accepted the first freighter—"Oh wow, a freighter!" (it's been so long…)—without questioning it. Now, after the fact, I’m reading that if you decline the first one, the second freighter is always better, sometimes much better.

Now I'm stuck with my C-class freighter and feeling dissatisfied, seriously considering starting over since I've already saved…

Hi, I tried to use AI to help me. They recommended scapping a ship to 6 and then trying to see if I could buy 2 to 7 and that tdidn't owrk.

Then it wold me to use the freighter to move to another galaxy and try to buy a 7th ship, that didn't work.

Then they told me to scrap 4 ships so I only had two left and then try to buy a total of 7 and that still didn't work.

I'm at a loss and now down several cool ships in my attempts to fix it :(

Best Way To Get Back Into NMS? [Question]

So I played the game for about 3 weeks when it was released before it just felt stale. I've seen over the years how much it has changed and has been used as an example of a developer turning a game around.

What's the best way to get back into the game? I don't want to end up playing the "wrong way" and just be a lonesome traveler again scanning stuff and mining to build components and discover single words for alien languages again lol. What's the way to jump back in and be introduced to a game that didn't exist when I played it at launch almost a decade ago? I have it on steam BTW.

How do you explore? [Discussion]

I am on my way to the Center of the galaxy, using my freighter, and scan every system I jump into from onboard my freighter. When I see interesting planets I pay them a visit, scan a few things so I see which planets I actually stepped on. I also did exploration by jumping from system to neighbouring system so I explored an area of the galaxy. How do you explore? What are you looking for? Does it get boring after a while? I started with visiting just tropical, paradise planets and such but now visiting all planets with flavours I haven’t seen before. I still find stuff I haven’t seen before but I see lot of the same stuff.

A New Player's Journey of Exploration [Screenshot]

I’m a new player to this game, and after stumbling through a few tasks, I can finally fly between planets with ease.I play the game on my laptop, and my graphics card is a 1060, so my setup is pretty low-end. However, I still find exploration in this game incredibly fun.

What are you actually doing in your bases? [Discussion]

I love base building. I've built a few myself that I really like, but nothing like some of the insanely detailed and creative glitch builds I've seen on reddit. I'm talking about those with realistic looking kitchens constructed out of dozens of repurposed, resized and glitched in items.

However, I realized, once I'm finished, I never visit my base again. For most purposes, like refining materials, changing appearance or harvesting crops, I use my freighter, because its more convenient and the useful parts usually ruin or at least pose a challenge to my base design. The only bases I visit regularly are a couple of resource mining bases. But since thy are mining focused, they are more funktional than nice to look at.

So, do you ever visit your "player homes" and if so, what are you doing there? I kinda wanna try one of those insane builds, but I find it a little hard to find the motivation to spend days on a building that I will probably never visit, once it's finished.

Speaking to Geks, Korvax etc. - problem [Question]

Guys,

I loaded my old save from 2021, because I had over 40 hours of progress and starting a new one seemed dull after 4 hours of playing.

So I play this old save and almost everytime I speak to Geks, or Korvax or Vy'keen I have opening text from them that differ a lot but my options to answer now are almost always down to four options - learn language, test language, give gift or cancel.
I remember that when I played this save years ago I had options that reacted to opening texts from Geks or others. Right now - I don't.

It's all ok during special missions - but these normal conversations seem a little strange.

So to conclude - is this a bug from old save or it changed somewhere in time? Or I am hallucinating and it was always like this?

Two pets were briefly possible! [Video]

For a short while, a glitch meant I had two companion animals running about with me - dismissed the first one and it didn't disappear, so resummoned and got two! Both on different phases of their animation cycles so they acted as if independant. The first one, which should have vanished, couldn't be interacted with but had the fed creature icon. Given that they are aggressive predators, it also didn't attack me and acted entirely as a normal companion, barring no ability to ride, pet or feed. The second one was exactly as you would expect.

Sadly it's never repeated the glitch but for a brief and wonderful time, we got to explore together.

Can I still get the Starborn Runner? [Question]

I’ve played about 140 hours so far and only managed to complete the last two expeditions. I really fell in love with the Starborn Runner, but I just found out it was an expedition reward. Is there any way to obtain or find it now? The ship looks amazing, and I’m kicking myself for missing out.

I’ve heard rumors about modifying save files to replay expeditions, but I’d prefer not to go that route. Do past expeditions ever rerun? Is there an official schedule for this, or is it random? Alternatively, can this ship spawn somewhere in the game naturally, or am I stuck just ogling it in the Space Anomaly?

Is it possible to type in a "code" and replicate the symbols you find in interceptor names? [Question]

So i found the an interceptor that I love. And for some reason the name changed. I wish I had screenshots of it but sadly I don't.

The original name was "Flameborn-(symbol)"

Then it changed to something a lot less cool and when I went to change it the symbol disappeared.

Is it even possible to get that symbol back in my ships name? Does anyone have a table I can reference of the symbols?

A message to Hello Games [Fan Work]

Starships, players should have more interactive abilities with starships in terms of INTERNAL CUSTOMIZATION as similar to the Freighters. I would like to be able to walk around in my Hauler starship to see different sections. Currently starships feels like a big hunk of flying metal. Starships can be like a mini freighter where you can teleport short distances to local space stations and your freighter, be able to customize inside with living quarters and etc, view your storage area. It has a big picture that can be imagined. My big debate is Haulers should also be bigger than other ships, it’s crazy when a fighter pulls up and it looks bigger than a hauler. Also the internal structures should be different for all ships, not as the freighter where it all looks the same onboard. It defeats the purpose of hunting for a different freighter and it can bring more uniqueness and gaming paths. On the other hand thanks for the current game and its massive updates, great job!

The "races" in No Man’s Sky feel pretty pointless. [Suggestion]

The "races" in No Man’s Sky feel pretty pointless. Instead of truly distinct species, we just get a bunch of interchangeable heads slapped onto the same generic body parts. It drives me nuts that if I decide to try a head from another race, I have to rebuild my entire character from scratch, but the parts are all the same anyhow.

I really wish the devs had done more to differentiate the races. Imagine if each had unique body parts with distinct, recognizable aesthetics. For that matter, this kind of visual identity should extend beyond just characters—multitools, ships, space stations, freighters, frigates, and buildings should all reflect their creators. It would be awesome if you could glance at any of these and immediately recognize whether it's Gek, Vy’keen, Korvax, Anomaly, Autophage, pirate, etc.

Think Star Trek or Starcraft—every faction has a unique, unmistakable style. Bringing that level of distinctiveness to No Man’s Sky would make the universe feel so much more immersive.

Does the destination system in Stellar Multitudes shows the quest icon?

Are there any clues for the direction I have to travel too from the station which holds the icon in the portal list? ( no path is shown when the quest is selected in the starmap only the message that the system is far away)

I'm stuck underneath the playable part of a planet.. [Bug]

So I was building my base and when I placed a exocraft dock I just phased through the floor beneath me and fell till it's pitch black. I can't see anything, but I can move around. I'm clearly beneath the surface, but I am also beneath the playable terrain, so I can't dig myself out.

For whatever reason the game saved apparently when I fell, which is ridiculous, and now if I try to reload the save it's still in the same spot, alone in the abyss.

Does anyone have a way to fix this? I'm relatively new to the game, but put about 30 hours on it in a week and, as a parent, that was just about every second of my free time. I think I'm just going to quit this game and never come back if I can't salvage this save. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Side note: none of the common options given for fixing the "stuck in freighter floor" glitch help here.

Best way to get units and nanites [Information]

As long as you guys have 2 portable refiners, you can duplicate everything you need.
To duplicate with the portable refiner, just have anything you want in the input box in the 1st refiner and then overlap the 1st refiner with the 2nd and take the 2nd refiner back. whatever was in the 1st refiner will be automatically duplicated.

If you want nanites, duplicate as many Salvage Data stacks as you want and then you can keep refining all the Salvage Data you've duplicated into to as many nanites as you can. I think the max is 4k plus. Leave the Nanites in the Refiner as you keep refining Salvage Data. When ready, use the 2nd refiner to overlap and duplicate. Repeat as many times as you want.

For units, duplicate stacks of Exosuit Expansion units in the refiner and sell it at the space station for money!

Then you'll be set for units and money awhile.

Duplicate whatever else you want

I believe the next step to making this game better should be titled Bases. [Suggestion]

The game is very good now, but the one thing I have always wanted is to have better bases. More functionality, more to do inside them. I know they did this with settlements, but your actual base should be able to be transformed into a settlement, anywhere. And if you like certain aliens you see in buildings, space stations or where ever you can invite them, and they should make it so you can gain friendship levels with your aliens so you can eventually be sent on missions by them on your planets. I think they should also have settlements in space.

What do you all think would be cool things to be able to do inside our bases?

Got so bored I decided to start a business [Discussion]

I'm pretty much at endgame and nowadays I'm mostly fabricating ships, building bases and growing Nip Nip. I was inspired by some businesses on the Galactic Hub and decided to make one to sell ship fabricator parts, together with a mediocre slapped-together website. Can't Escape Euclid [Question]

I figure this might have been answered before, but in different circumstances.

I keep trying to jump galaxies to get to lush or more conflicted galaxies, but after 3 jumps, every galaxy is Euclid. I already did the autophage stuff. I already did all the quests for ATLAS, getting to the atlas eternal quest which just grants me words and nanites. What am I supposed to do to get out of this Euclid trap?

Was I supposed to do something previously? Am I bugged? cooked? or just stupid?

I like the Explorer ships and I’ve been using one pretty much since I started playing the game. I have over 400 hours in. I quit for a while after they nerfed the amount of tech you can have installed so last week I picked up my controller and jumped right back in. I’m not sure when they implemented the ability to make your own ship but I’m glad they did. Like I said I’ve been using an Explorer class for a long time and really like it, but the ship I had wasn’t symmetrical with that big barrel looking engine on the left side. So when I found out I could customize my own shop I started looking around for other explorer class ship with the right hull and wings. It took a while so I finally made my own Tie Fighter

Question about moving “base” early game [Question]

I just started the game and repaired my ship. The quest has me go to a marked planet and build a base computer which I have done. My question is whether setting a base computer on another planet affects the main quest. The marked planet is desolate and there is a paradise planet right next to it that I would prefer to put roots down in.

I'm 100+ hours in and still feel like a beginner [Discussion]

I picked up NMS for the first time a couple months ago and I'm obsessed. My adhd ass LOVES this game because there's just so much to do. Features I haven't even scratched the surface of like creature breeding or cooking or ship building

When did y'all feel like you knew what you were doing? When do y'all feel like you got good at the game? What did y'all discover kind of "late game" that you wish you knew earlier?

I can easily see myself putting 1,000 hours in one save just wanting to collect and scan and learn everything. Also I really love this community. Seems to be one of the few subs where people get along And genuinely wanna help each other and genuinely love the game

Titan Expedition Bug - All Rendezvous Points Automatically Unlocked [Bug]

Logged into my Titan save today to try and make some progress, and all of the "Reach Rendezvous #" tasks were automatically completed in my Expedition log. Cool, but now I can't map there via mission waypoint to complete the "take photo of Rendezvous #" tasks. Selecting that expedition task does not set a waypoint to get to those planets with the Rendezvous points. So frustrating. I'm considering doing the grind to get the portal glyphs but I really wish this didn't happen.

Does anyone else have an alternate method to get the rendezvous planets to show up for me so I can warp to them or is there an easy warp route I can blindly follow from the Galaxy Map?

Industrial Harvesting Needs a Rework? [Question]

This my gas hotspot for Radon, and there is a power hotspot 300 yards away. You need a base computer to build both gas extractor & electromagnetic generator, but this distance is too far to be covered in one base. So either I'm not understanding something or I need two bases 300 yards apart to leverage both hot spots? Why would we want to over clutter our base portfolio like this?

Interlopers, tell me… [Discussion]

What is the one or more things you read on this sub Reddit, that would definitely change your save/overall game experience, but decided not to and went the hard or grindy way, and what was a thing that you did do and felt a little bit like cheating?

So for me the first part would be finding a sentinel S class ship that I would like… so still at this stage (roughly 300h in) never mind one I like, never even found an s class yet, and I like ship hunting! But firmly refuse to use the coordinates thread, to go and get one, want to find one myself.

The second thing which felt like cheating, but very satisfying at same time 🤣 jumping space stations and bulk collecting SFM and Slot expansions for my freighter, upgraded it to what I wanted in one night 🤦🏻‍♂️

So what about you Interlopers?

Solution to the terrain leveling problem in constructions: embankment blocks [Question]

I’m new to the game, and I’ve already noticed that there’s a small issue with leveling your terrain to build your base, and before you know it, you end up having to dig up your base like an alien ruin. I researched and saw people saying that this is an old problem, that the game devs has been trying to fix for years but hasn’t been able to, as it would interfere with core terrain generation mechanics and could mess everything up.

In this case, why not forget about terrain manipulation and invest in blocks that simulate embankments, which would blend perfectly with the natural terrain below and serve as a foundation for the rest of the constructions? These could even have various textures, such as stone, gravel, asphalt, etc., covering the grass and making the built area more realistic. Personally, I really dislike when native grass or vegetation shows up inside constructions.

In my opinion, it would be a simpler solution to create a block to simulate leveling than to have to rework all the terrain generation code involved.

What do you all think? I’m just starting out in the game, so I’m not sure if this idea makes much sense or not. Thanks!

Ship inventory disappeard [Question]

Hey guys! Im new to the game. I did the totan expedition and it was so fun i wanted to try verything i missed, so im on pc and i did the thing that you play offline to play from the start. Im right at the end of the 1st expedition, pioneer I jusr opened the game and my starship inventory os empty And i had there so many multi tool and starship inventory upgrades, i dont know why it disappeard. I tried to spwan all the 5 ships i have and cheked the inv, but nothing. I thought maybe i left the game while afk in a stormy world and died and then i understood that i got my exosuit inventory on me so it doesnt make sense. Any thing you guys know / can think of that happend?

Can't transfer Inventory to new Freighter [Question]

I warped into a new system and was rewarded with a new Freighter. Decided to buy it but after researching online was concerned about the inventory in my current freighter. Some ppl said you can transfer it during Exchange, so I decided to try it.
Didn't work, I lost a huge amount of materials that were stored in my Freighter inventory. I loaded an Auto-save but the new Freighter was removed, so now I can't buy it.

How are you supposed to buy a new Freighter if you cannot jump your current Freighter to the system you are in??

Does the main quest follow you? [Question]

Fairly new player (loving the game!), and I've just completed the Expedition on a new, seperate save (not realising there were other ways you could). I'm going to keep this as my new main save, but now the expedition has finished all of the main quest stuff has kicked in and I'm still in the system the Expedition ended in. I don't mind redoing the main quest (I didn't finish it on my other save) but this system is heaving with people's bases etc now and I'd quite like to do it somewhere quiet and less cluttered. If I warp off in a random direction a ways will the various prompts to go to different planets to find things follow me to the new system, or am I stuck having to do it here now and will need to warp all the way back?

Which visual mods are worthwhile?? [Modded]

There's a slew of em, it seems! The Redmas tweaks look interesting, as does the no exosuit visual annoyances one. The hovering ships looks cool, and the one that allows combination biomes would be cool, but I don't like to alter the actual worlds.

I'm interested in some of the reshades and LOD mods. High res cloud from space, too, perhaps. Are there any that you guys just love??

Bases with large interior [Question]

How do people build large bases that are functional? If I build more more one wall high the game freaks out and can’t detect if it’s indoors and constantly zooms the camera in and out. Same thing if I try to use open windows (ie the stone ones). I like to build very open bases in these types of games but the indoors detection system is just awful, not to mention the difficulty of lighting any space higher than 1 wall. Is there any workaround or mod that lets me build open spaces in peace?

It is humorous that all these aliens and worlds with space and warp travel don’t seem to live anywhere. No cities. No one actually lives in the huts and abandoned ruins. In Stellar Multitudes stuck fix [Bug]

I solved the issue from the newest update worlds part 2 where the quest in stellar multitudes would not let you progress. This fix will probably work for all types of quests. The solution does require a save editor to reset the quest to zero. Here are some instructions for other that also ran into this issue:

To reset any quest you need a save editor I used goat fungus editor.

The save editor should create a backup automatically. Download The editor: https://github.com/goatfungus/NMSSaveEditor Start NMS and make sure that the quest that you want to reset is active. Extract the save editor and open the NMS save editor batch file. After opening the batch file a cmd will open together with the save editor app. Do not close any of these. once inside the app click on your steam profile or browse files to it and then pick the right save file for NMS Now in the top right you can see Edit RawJson click it. Now there should be three file folders. Open BaseContext then PlayerStateData and scroll down until you see CurrentMissonID. Click it and the the word/words that the text say. Copy this word Ctrl + c if the words or words have a number in the end of it copy the letters before and ignore the number. Now exit the CurrentMissonID and click on the mission progress file. Click ctrl + F to search the file and search for the text you copied. sift through all text with your text and change the progress under the name to -1 on all search matches. Save what you changed and exit the Json editor. Now you can change the auto save file if you want but its not a must. Restart your game and the game will think that you never even started the quest.

If you do this the game should re think as soon as you reach the point where you were stuck and will let you progress. I did this on my in stellar multitudes and it worked great.

Terrain Bugs with Base building has killed the fun. [Bug]

So it seems like putting effort into the freighter base is the only thing worth doing. 3rd time I've spent hours trying to make a base on a planet only to have the world bug and just open. Maybe the Dev's should just get rid of the voxel editing factor of the game entirely if is constantly going break things.

Idk maybe someone can tell me how to avoid or fix this nonsense.

Anyone else play that extremely long mini game? [Discussion]

Super simple, you play NMS like an old flash game. Once you get your ship and the ability to go to new system, you find an asteroid field and shoot asteroids, sell what you get, then upgrade your ship until it's maxed out, then get a new ship and keep doing it?

Wasted a whole day doing this on one save because it was just so fun for some reason. You would think the gameplay loop would be abismal, but it seems to itch that scratch for a simple down to earth space game.

PS4 Psvr cant switch ship power priority [Question]

I used to be able to set my ship to prioritize power to the weapons, engines, shields or balanced, with a click of the O button on the left wand... now it brings up the "fast" menu i normally point at with my other hand. Is this a known glitch or a permanent change or what? Anyone know how to change my power priority? I feel unsafe without it diverted to my shields!

Just figured out that if you find an autophage camp within a harmonic camp, you can use the terminal to locate as many ships as you like, until you get bored making millions upon millions of units. I'm on PS5, I don't know if it's different on other platforms. Who knows when they'll decide to patch this, so get 'em while they're hot!

Hello fellow Interlopers!

Though I am not new to the game, I am new to this sub. I just wanted to post a quick thank you to the NMS community as a whole for literally being the best community I have ever experienced in online gaming.

I use to play NMS very heavily on PlayStation a few years ago. After around the first 1 or 2 major updates that helped turn the tide in the quality of the game. I remember back then I was grinding to get enough units to get a decent ship. Once I finally got to the anamoly station I randomly received a couple different messages that I received some stuff from someone I definitely didn't know. When I checked my inventory and saw these were items worth hundreds of thousands of units...EACH! (They'd given me 2M worth)

I just recently started getting back into the game on my PC. Unfortunately I had to start all over which sucked because I was kitted on my PS save. Freighter, Living Organism ship, S tier everything exosuit and just about fully maxed on inventory slots. I didn't mind much though since there have been so many updates that it all has felt relatively fresh to me aside from the main Artemis missions.

I just got the the Anamoly Ship again about 30 or so minutes ago. After doing some of the intro missions for it and running around just taking in the view of everything I saw a couple messages pop up on my screen again. Wouldn't you know it? Once again, 2 different players dropped about 400k worth of items into my inventory. They seemingly vanished as mysteriously as they appeared.

Idk if they are in this sub at all or not but my handle is Nomad Magicman509. I just want to say thank you so much for the help! Maybe they just saw someone with a noob ship and gear and decided to lend a helping hand, maybe they just needed to clear some inventory space. Either way, it was a huge help.

LF some advice for a new player [Suggestion]

Hey travelers,

I think I just finished the main story but I'm still confused... I just reset the simulation and chose the green one as I think I'll be able to find sweet planets for bases in there. I just dropped on a new planet in the new galaxy and the "new beginning" quest suggest that I take all the time in the world to explore... Does it mean it's a good time to stop questing and just enjoy the sandbox experience? I obviously haven't made it to the galaxy core yet and that is something I want to do for sure but what about the rest? I have a bunch of primary and secondary quests left and to be frank and getting tired of grinding those hehe.

Anyway, thanks in advance for the help I'm a bit lost here. Really cool experience so far though!

Returning player and I'm in need of help [Question]

So, just came back to the game after a 3 year hiatus. Figured I'd do the titan expedition. Played it off my main save and just finished, including finishing officially at the nexus and then returning to my primary save. After returning, I realized I can't go to purple systems on my primary still.

I tried to look up how to access purple systems in my primary, and I'm seeing people say to do the "in stellar multitudes" quest line. Only issue is, I have no idea how to start it. Wiki says I need to have completed "they who returned" before I can start in stellar multitudes... Ok.

So, again, it's been 3 years. I know I fully completed the atlas story line before I put the game down, and was fairly far along in end game progression (exotic ship, living ship, and high tier freighter all collected and beefed up before taking the break). I have no idea how to check what I've completed quest progression wise, and have no idea where to go/how to start they who returned. What do I do?

Also, after finishing titan, I was sadly underwhelmed by the capacity of the wraith. It's... Ok? My og living ship is better, with way more storage room. Is there any way I can upgrade the hyper drive on my living ship to atlantid quality so it can access purple stars? Any help is really appreciated, I love this game but I'm feeling lost and a bit frustrated with the confusing answers I'm finding on Google. Thanks everyone.

Auto complete Rendezvous 3, 4, 5 [Question]

Jumped on today to finish the titan expedition to find that it auto completed visiting to rendezvous’s tab.

So it locks me out of taking the screenshot at each one afterwards because I don’t know the locations. Does anyone know a work around? Or is this a known issue?

It went through this whole rock and into the ground underneath it. Day/night cycled several times I think....I questions my life choices but I couldn't stop at that point. I had to finish it. Pretty sure I got a full stack of copper and then some.

Galaxy Map Question [Question]

I am perplexed with an issue using the Galaxy Map. I have been searching for water worlds and naming systems as I go along. I have used the discovery page to go back to some of these by marking them as a custom waypoint. I know that you can't change galaxies with this option, but I've stayed in Euclid.

Today I tried to go back to a system I discovered last week. After marking it as a waypoint it shows no path when I choose custom waypoint. I tried going to the system just prior, and the one after this one and can get to these without issues.

I don't think that this is a case where the destination is too far, because the systems prior are most likely farther away. I just am trying to understand what limitation I have stumbled on so I don't have to lay down a base or capture glyphs everywhere in order to get back.

I think I've bricked my main save. [Bug]

When I select it I load into a base I had set up for mining cadmium, as soon as the loading screen finishes I get a .25 second view of my supply depots before it crashes. I'm playing on a PS5 and I don't know of anyway to roll back my save since I don't have an active PSplus subscription so no cloud backup.

I just made the Titan expedition impossible to complete :( [Bug]

I recently moved away from home for university and brought my laptop. My primary No Man's Sky save is on my PC at home.

On this laptop, I started a brand new save to begin the Titan expedition. After I completed it, I discovered that none of my prior expedition rewards were unlocked!

I thought my expedition rewards were tied to my Steam account. It turns out they're not, or at least not exactly.

I did bring my spare backup drive with me though, thank goodness, which has a copy of my save from back home.

I restored that save and am now redoing the Titan expedition, but now there's a big problem.

The stupid game thinks I've already visited all the waypoints on this save, so it'll no longer show me where they are in order to take the damned photographs. I can't take the teleporter to those systems since I didn't actually visit them yet on this save.

So... I have a backup of the save where I completed Titan, but none of my rewards are unlocked.

And I have a backup of the save which has all my other rewards unlocked, in which it's impossible to find the exact spot I need to take the photographs to complete Titan.

WTF do I do? Why the hell is the expedition progress only partially tied to the Steam account?

Perhaps I'll try restarting Titan one more time, but disconnected from the internet. Hopefully then the stupid game will let me actually complete it properly.

UPDATE:

Nope. The game won't let you begin the expedition offline.

How the hell do I redo it without it thinking that I already visited the waypoints?

So on foot I was having a rough time getting the hang of controls on controller so I switched over to Keyboard and Mouse and was having an AMAZING time, however when flying ships, it was absolutely tragic when flying the ship, and tried out controlling the ship with controller and it was such a pleasant experience, so now I am stuck here using both control methods for the most comfortable experiences, so I was just wondering if anyone else plays like this, while also sharing the fact I play like this XD

Now that I have finally finished the story I feel as if I don't have a purpose any longer. Builds disappearing on deep ocean planets. [Bug]

So I was trying to make a base on one of the purple system water planets but once I claim a base and place any builds, if I reload the save or relog, they disappear.

The game still knows they exist because the icon for the base computer still exists, I can’t claim a new base there, and I tried to place a landing pad but it said I still was at the max of 9. They are just invisible and un-interactable.

I saw a video that also had this same issue but they didn’t seem to have a fix.

Expeditions save item transfer [Question]

Hello guys I'd like to know if I'm screwed, I did not play for a long time, I had a 30 hours save and came back to the game to start expedition 17, I started it on a new save and now when I go to my main save it does not give me any option to import the items/ship/multi tool from the expedition save. If I go to the anomaly terminal it asks me to start the expedition, if I go there on my expedition save instead it only shows me that the expedition is completed, am I screwed? I'm afraid I made a noob mistake..

Mission Patterns a time [Question]

I've been trying to complete the "Patterns in Time" mission for a long time, but I have a problem. When doing the missions it sends me, including making two contracts for the Gek, the first mission I completed it successfully, but the second mission, even though I finish it and it sends me to the mission panel, to turn in the second mission, it doesn't count for me.

My question is: Has this happened to anyone? And what solution do you propose?

An Atlas interface appeared in my system somehow? [Question]

I was doing the They Who Returned quest and at the part where it has you going through the portal to the Atlas I got sent to the reset galaxy choice instead of a normal interface so I reloaded my latest restore point and now there's an atlas interface in the system that wasn't there before

Also, one of the planets went from being classified as an Icebound Planet to an Abandoned planet, it is still frozen but the abandoned stone structures appeared on it out of nowhere

Does anyone know what could've happened?

Bases in settlements [Question]

Any chance to get an Atlantid drive while in expedition 17? [Question]

Came back to No Man's Sky after after 1.5 years and pretty much jumped into Expedition 17 right away. I progressed to the point I need to reach the second rendezvous point but can't because my ship doesn't have the Atlantid drive. I didn't even know the drive existed in the game since I last played and I already have the copy of my Star ship from the main save. I even went back to my main save and I can't even trigger the start of the In Stellar Multitudes mission.

Is there a way I can get the Atlantid Drive to complete the expedition at this point? Even harvesting or collecting the crafting materials feels out of reach for me.

Updated approach for getting salvaged frigate modules? [Question]

I’ve tried following old guides on this but the old approaches don’t really reap much.

After an 2+ hours of gameplay I got two as explorer guild freebies by jumping through 10+ systems, and one by trading some Gek rep by whacking a cargo pod. Got zero from two crashed freighters and two derelict freighters and about 6 frigate missions.

This drop rate is excruciatingly slow!

Not getting a freighter since I declined the first [Question]

Have they changed the spawn rates on freighter battles or something? I declined the first but I have warped dozens of times and I'm just not getting one. I'm well into this playthrough, at least definitely past three hours, and I've tried visiting all kinds of systems with no luck. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Am I just cursed by the RNGods or has something been changed within the last year or so? It's been a while since I played the game, admittedly, but I know that in the past you could listen just decline the first, warp a couple of times, and it would give you a capital freighter. Any help is appreciated.

Difficulty finding underground creatures. Any tips? [Question]

I searched for an answer, the results were from 2020, so I decided to post. The creatures are rare, which could mean... they're rare. But there are other rare animals on the surface that are very easy to find, it seems that the underground ones are always the ones causing trouble.

Did anything change since 2020? Am I missing something or is it simply the way it is? I've been looking for hours unsuccessfully, it's almost frustrating.

What do I do now? [Question]

I have two saves. In both of them I am stuck in a glitch situation. I am on someone else’s base. In one I am below the floor with no way to fly up. Any other explorer types having issues with discoveries reverting to old names in system list? [Question]

So I've had a private project in this game for about 5 years, I have logged an entire system, all its fauna, portal codes, planets, and every star. I'm a spreadsheet warrior so I went to start logging stuff.

I noticed random numbers within my system list are just ?missing?

I found a ton of them in hidden system list, and another bunch of them simply disappeared from the lists entirely. Visiting them again and running the survey from my freighter will add them and all my discovered and labeled planets. Anyone else have vanishing systems?

Please allow me select a ship in the landing pad terminal! [Discussion]

So I have multiple landing pads at my base, but I can only call my active ship on them. To have multiple of my ships in my base, the only option is to spawn them somewhere else than not in the landing pad, and then call them in the landing pad I want. For me, it is kind of annoying and breaks immersion.

I think it would be nicer if, from the landing pad terminal, we were presented with an interface where we can pick which ship we want to call to land there.

Alternatively, we could have the option of selecting the active ship without spawning it. Maybe select the active ship, and spawning it could be separated commands, like how happens with companions (I think).

I found this item that says it contains a curse. I play in PT-BR, I changed the language to English but the item description didn't change lol Hence the automatic translation.

I searched the name in PT-BR (Esfera do Abandono) and your translation as in the image, but I had no response. I believe it was activated recently, along with the abandoned stations. If I'm not mistaken, I found it in a wrecked freighter during the Titan 17 expedition.

So I got a question. [Question]

Been helping my friend out with missions and he got to the part of the atlas quest where it teleports the player. When he saw his ship it had become a copy of my ship (to him). The ship was a sentinel ship. I don’t know if maybe there is a bug with that ship and stuff. I didn’t see his ship as a copy of mine but a white variation with different engines. Last night his ship looked like a copy of mine exactly. Pretty confusing, but not a huge deal. His sentinel ship was cool tho. Warning! Screenshot did not have my friend. Just a cool shot of mine 😎

New AMD card, NMS settings question [Question]

I just picked up a Radeon RX 9070 XT, and I'm coming over from an NVidia 3070. My 3070 honestly ran NMS great. The Radeon ... not so much. Lots of hitching and stuttering. I cannot make heads nor tails of the AMD software, and I've never owned a Radeon gpu before. Any suggestions on settings to configure in the AMD software, and in the game?

AM4 platform. 32GB ram, Ryzen 7 5800x. GSync compatible monitor only (could this be a problem?) running at 1440p @ 100Hz. Win 10.

Fauna spawning in underwater caves [Question]

Do we know if it's intended behavior for underwater fauna to only spawn when there's sky above? So many planets have vast subterranean seas, but only shallow surface waters and it feels weird that the underground water is lifeless.

I just started over after a few years away, but I swear fauna used to spawn anywhere there was sufficient water.

Starbirth stuck on "planet signature does not match void egg resonance" [Bug]

I currently am stuck on the step where I go through the portal, and the quest says "Warning: Planet Signature does not match void egg resonance"

I have verified multiple times it is the correct plane/address in Euclid. I even manually flew to the coordinates and located the abandoned building that is supposed to give me the Soul jar, but i cannot interact with the terminal at all.

Noob questions [Question]

Hi all

I have two noob questions that really make me wanna drop the game, but I don’t want to. Pls help Quest tracking: I don’t really understand how it works? It is annoying to me that I cannot see exactly which galaxy/planet quest is on, that I cannot see all quests I have active in this galaxy/planet, cannot track multiple at the same time, and so on. Also I’m not sure, am I supposed to grind the “main” quests, or should I just take quests from the quest npc at the space stations nonstop? How do I know if I’m progressing well? The second question is related to the first. How do I make money? I have some expensive resource (extracted data) but I don’t think that it’s wise to sell it. The quests do not really pay that well if you take into consideration time/income ratio. All the ships/multitool etc upgrades cost a fortune, and I have literally like 300k money and like 3k nanites. I have at least 40 hours in this playthrough. Any other pro tips (without spoilers) that can help me structure and increase my progress and growth?

No players in anomaly [Question]

Just for some context I play on PS5 and I don't have a subscription, however awhile ago I was doing the expedition and I was able to play with other people but for the past few weeks I noticed that the anomaly has been empty, at first I thought it was because no one was using it which is highly unlikely. Also I have access to the network menu but only five network options show and all of them are enabled.

Is there any way I can fix this without having to pay the subscription?

Useful Tips - A travellers companion guide [Information]

Hey interlopers,

I've spent a good amount of time playing NMS, and have been active on the forums quite a bit.
In my time here, I have seen multiple questions return, seen many good bits of advice and figured I would make a list of common topics and questions asked, and consolidate them in a single post to serve as a steady source of tips to help you on your way, and maybe teach you a thing or two.

It may be a long one, but I hope there is something useful in here for you!

1 - Atlas Passes.

The Atlas Passes, bought from the Anomaly with Nanites as a recipe, come in 3 versions: v1, v2, and v3.
Once you obtained v3, there is no need to keep the other 2 had you made them already, saving you 2 inventory spaces.

Note: There have been only a select few reports where fellow players said it didn’t open certain things, but I have personally yet to come across this – containers, doors, everything has consistently opened for me.
It also has no documented proof that a v1 or v2 would still be needed, rather that v3 opens everything.

2 - Hyperdrives.

Hyperdrives – since the World pt.II update - come in 4 versions.
Cadmium, Indium, Emeril and now Atlantid drives.

When you've acquired the next in line, even without installing the previous ones, you can still access those prior system types.

If you are shy on tech slots, you can opt to remove the previous ones.
Note: These drives do provide a small Ly boost (we’re talking a couple Ly at best), and might be worth keeping when you really want to push max Ly when tech slots allow.

3 - Walker Brains.

With the recent update at the time of me writing this, Walkers seem to not be spawning consistently again.

You can however acquire these in different ways:

Suspicious Packet (Goods), Station missions (I have most luck in Outlaw stations here), Nexus missions, Autophage heads...

Tech issues and questions from some new players [Question]

Hi everyone, my kids and me have recently started playing No Man's Sky, we're about 40 hours in at the moment, but there's a few things we're struggling with if anyone could help please? The kids are each using an Xbox to play and I'm using a PC and Virtual Desktop connected to a Quest 3 (playing the game through the Xbox store as it's on Gamepass).

They can talk to each other fine and can talk to other people at the anomaly.

I can't talk to anyone. The sound is coming through the quest, the microphone is working. If we use the Xbox voice party feature we can all talk to each other but the game chat will absolutely not work for me. I've been in the settings and set everything to allow it, but it won't work. Any ideas for anything else I could try? If we're playing together then I host the game and the kids join. But it doesn't feel as though all our games are synched properly. If we're on a planet that has storms, the storm occurs for me but if the kids are stood next to me, they don't experience one (which is quite funny if I get sucked up by a tornado that they can't see).

Sometimes an outpost will only appear for one of us, they'll be inside it, the others will be running around on the ground, half through the floor of the building. Same thing kinda happens with each others freighters.

Last night, one kid went on an journey and found himself being attacked by waves of corrupted sentinels and needed help. So I went over to assist but it seemed to then generate a separate wave of sentinels for me, so we had two different waves that never seemed to end. It went on for nearly two hours, with two sentinel capital ships above us.

Because of this "sync" error we're a bit reluctant to do anything like an abandoned frigate mission together.

Is this normal, or are we doing something wrong? Sometimes when I buy a ship to dismantle for the blueprints,...

I recently got it again and just completed the expidition and I was wondering, is there a to-do list that I can follow? Abandoned Mode - hunting for Ships - some results. [Discussion]

I've spent last few days hunting for a good Starship in the Abandoned Mode on PS5 and decided to share some data after visiting 100+ crash sites.

When using the Minotaur Radar:

  • I get max 5 Starships per Planet + 1 empty site where the communicator tries to contact Atlas. After that its either Freighter Crash Site or Nothing found. Or... Loop of the previous ones.
  • Changing places, reloading - nothing helps here. Evert time I get all the same crash sites per planet
  • For Hauler/Fighter/Explorer - I got max B Class
  • Shuttles - got many with A Class
  • Interacting with Broken Machinery and Communicators on the crash sites netted me some C/B/A/S Class Protection and MT modules as well as C/B/A ship upgrade modules.
  • I am yet to find a Solar Ship. This will be a challenge as there is no way of finding out which system is an outlaw one... But I'm not giving up yet.
  • I read some reports that Exotics were found. Still looking for one.

When using Nautilus Radar

  • per planet I get only one Sunken Starship. After that the radar can't find the second one... (reported it do Zendesk),

Sentinels:

  • got many C and B ones.

What is the Galactic Hub?

The wiki page for the Galactic Hub describes themselves best: "The Galactic Hub Project, generally referred to just as the Galactic Hub, is the largest and oldest active civilization in No Man's Sky. The core focus of the Galactic Hub is exploration and documentation, but the civilization also offers extensive multiplayer support, economic interactions, competitive PVP events, player-made content such as bases, and more." What is Galactic Hub Eissentam (EisHub)?

The initial Hub was based in the starting galaxy Euclid, but in 2017 the Galactic Hub decide to expand to another galaxy, Eissentam. Eissentam is the 10th galaxy in No Mans Sky and is known as a Tranquil galaxy, meaning it has a increased chance of spawning Lush planets. While it has the same coordinate's as the Euclid Hub, it is substantially larger claimed territory. Due to these factors, many interlopers join Eishub for it's many lush planets and colonies and just more lax gameplay. What are some things to do in Eishub?

We have many creative and diverse colonies you can join, some examples for themes of these include: Golfing, fantasy based on Geek mythology, industrial mining ect. In these colonies you can not just live in them, but also contribute them by building your own home and completing missions for rewards. Weekly events are also in the works and anyone is welcome to join and contribute. How would I get to Eishub?

There are many ways to get to our humble home! If you have all glyphs: Go to the Anomaly, go to the large portal in the far Left side of the Anomaly and find a featured base located in the Eissentam Galaxy and teleport to it, once you arrive find a portal monolith and insert the glyphs to one of the regions shown...

Please worlds pt2 [Question]

I’ve went though countless guides and YouTube videos and I can’t seem to figure out why the autophage quest won’t start. I seriously started a new game completely because I thought maybe it was glitched or I messed something up. I’m at a dissonant system went to the dissonant planet. Seriously been trying to figure this out for couple weeks now. It’s frustrating . Any help what so ever would be greatly appreciated

Head pieces [Question]

Does anybody know where I can get the samurai looking head piece of the autophage you know the one that makes you look like Kung lao from. MK. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED?!!

I see people with this head iteration, been running around 100's of autophage sites. No one sells this head piece. Can anyone help..please 🙏

Would you build a base over important areas? [Question]

Just curious as to why some people are so selfish?

Went to an area to obtain an s class multi tool, and someone had build a base completely covering it, with the bad computer inside so you couldn’t even reach it to access it and report it to have it removed?

There was no access inside the base at all, but there were windows so you could see the base computer and a teleporter.

There’s no benefit in isolating it for yourself, other than trying to annoy other people.

Or am I missing something?

How Does Storage Work? [Question]

I know the basics, I even got a freighter and storage containers.

But storage containers only carry 50 slots of items and I can't seem to find an option to upgrade these, and freighters can only carry a certain amount as well.

There's so many resources and items in the game that surely 450 available slots in storage isn't enough.

So...what do you do?

Can't port to this system? [Question]

Hey,

In my expedition I have a base on this planet which I want to visit on my main savegame.

The system is dissonant and it's named "Haporin".

I took a screen of the glyphs and, in my main savegame, inserted them into a portal.

I land on a totally unrelated system and I can't find the one I'm looking for anywhere near.

What am I doing wrong?..

Anyone else having problems fully fixing some of their frigates? [Bug]

So today I am encountering a bug unable to fix 2 of my frigates (both are combat frigates). I've fixed the others 3 without problems but these 2 are bugged in the same way: When I teleported to them first it only showed me 2 out of 3 markers to fix. I couldn't see the 3rd marker and fully fix the frigate. After I tried to teleport out to my freighter and ported back to frigate, I was shown one last marker with the part that needs fixing. However, after fixing it, the game still says "Repair the damaged frigate components. Damaged stations: 1".

Is anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: While I tried to debrief all of the expeditions before fixing them, it seems like the last one didn't pop up correctly and wasn't debriefed. After re-entering my freighter again I saw there's one last expedition that isn't debriefed yet and can fix them after debriefing.

Should I start an Abandoned Mode run? [Question]

I’m thinking of getting back into NMS. I almost beat the game once, but I don’t have the path memorized or anything.

Can I navigate abandoned mode without prior memory of the games questlines? Do you still have quest markers and stuff or will I end up looking up a bunch of guides to figure out how to progress, anyway?

SFX in 3rd person feel a bit off [Bug]

I tend to play with headphones on, and I noticed something's wrong with character audio...

Whenever I walk, I can hear 2 distinct sets of SFX :

  • The first one is the footsteps, which are more or less "centered".

  • The second one is the noises produced by your clothes/exosuit : most of the time it is quite a bit louder than the footsteps audio, but, more annoyingly, panned very far to the left (or the right, depending on your handedness camera setting). It becomes super distracting after a few minutes once you notice it. It sounds like the audio source has an exaggerated offset compared to any other audio produced by your character.

Am I going crazy or do you guys hear it too ?

Game forgets my "Personal" Wonders lately [Bug]

(screenshots below) This has happened on two different saves since the Worlds II update. It doesn't forget ALL of them, it just forgets some. And I can't figure out a specific pattern: it remembers some things I saved in the same time period or even the same planet (I think?) but not others - and doesn't seem to be only one type of object.
Has anyone else encountered this? I may be an edge case, since I frequently add and delete wonders because I'll add them, screenshot their info card with the glyphs etc. and paste that in a separate archive I'm keeping, and then later I'll delete the wonder to make room for more ... but I'm not doing anything weird with the files.
One example: I lost some of them yesterday from this "Personal Records" Wonder list -- the first screenshot shows what I had when I logged out yesterday. And the second shows what is there now when I logged in today.

Settlement under attack [Bug]

Hi all,

Got a weird bug I think. The game tells me my settlement is under attack, number of sentinel forces remaining unknown. But when I golwt there, everyone's just chilling with no sentinels in sight? Any ideas how to fix?

Petition for No Man's Sky. Multi crew personal ships with interior crew compartment for 4 players. [Discussion]

Hello Everyone. I've always day dreamed about No Man's Sky having multi Crew ships since 2016.

I thought we would get it at some point after the Freighter update wayback when but nothing still 😔. But with all the recent Amazing Updates and Patches they have clearly listed to the community.

So just putting it out there to see if other Travellers would like this Idea. I Would like see if there's enough interest to possibly start a petition or something to that effect.

I've seen people post concepts of ships with inteors and think it would be a perfect addition to the game.

Scapping ships bug, not getting the credits when scrapping [Question]

I bought some starships that landed in a space station. Took them to the ship terminal and scrapped them. I did not receive any credits for them, is this a bug?

I did several in a row. Buy a ship for 5 million and it says salvage value is 4 million. I scrap them but never receive the 4 million. I do get some salvaged stuff, and sometimes an ai valve. But no money from the ship itself.

I just starting doing this, is this the way it is supposed to work? Or is it a bug?

Appreciation post: Egg edition [Screenshot]

Shout-out to BeepBeepuk for the fairly overwhelming amount of gifting the other night. One thing I didn't notice right away was the Companion Egg down in the bottom of my inventory, and I hadn't ever bothered to know what to do with one. Figured it out without much trouble yesterday evening and couldn't be happier with the results.

On a related note, I'll be paying forward many of these gifts to players in need. Lots of expansion modules and valuable items. Perhaps I'll end up seeing some of you at The Anomaly . ✨

So I’m trying to play an old version preferably 1.13 which is the last patch before Pathfinder… [Question]

I’ve successfully downloaded 1.09 which is the last patch before foundations update and I’ve also successfully download it 1.3 atlas rises And they both seem to work just fine but when I download any of the Pathfinder updates or the foundation updates, I get a white screen with the initialize popping up and the white screen continues after I initialize. I’d really like to download the construct mod as well because I’d like to see the early pre-alpha buildings and structures.

Is it possible to warp into a dreadnaught battle and the dreadnaught be another player’s dreadnaught? [Question]

I defeated a dreadnaught and went aboard. After taking my payment, I took a look around and it looked suspiciously like another player had outfitted it. There are even some flaws in piece placement. Take a look at the last two pics. The lights are just floating in air and oriented weirdly. I’ve also never encountered an appearance modifier or a science station in an npc dreadnaught.

Still issues finding lithium/ocean planet [Question]

I've looked at the posts here and still cannot find a solution.

I bought the blueprint for the dredging laser for the Nautilon. As a result, Lithium was unlocked in my catalogue. When I pin the tech installation, I get the pop up "Lithium is found on waterworlds. Select 'Locate substance' in catalogue for more details".

As I said, Lithium is there in my catalogue, but the "Locate substance" button does not appear as it does for other materials. Methane does not have the button either.

Additionally, I've tried jumping to purple systems to search manually. After ~10 visits, I haven't found an ocean planet or gas giant.

Am I missing something? I've finished all the story missions, but is there some other prerequisite I haven't fulfilled?

Short range teleport cable not connecting to sky base? [Question]

Hoping that someone here can help me out. I built a sky base that's about 100u off the ground, and I built a little cabin on the ground underneath it. I want to connect the cabin to my sky base with a short range teleport, but when I try to connect the cable it says "connection too long". From what I read online, it seems like the cable should stretch 200u, so I'm not sure why I'm getting this issue.

How cheaty would it be to exchange my Wraith for another expedition ship? [Question]

I'm gonna be honest, I'm super unhappy with The Wraith. Like the ship looks cool and all but in the end it's a living ship, so it's pretty bad compared to effectively anything else you can get when it comes to stats and it has the worst storage I've ever seen in my life. Spawning Sacs have to be one of the hardest resources to get legitimately in this game and it'd take upwards of 20 of them to make The Wraith a decent ship because of its horrendous storage.

Would it be scummy to save edit and basically remove my Wraith and add either the Utopia Speedster or Starborn Runner to my save? I quite honestly have no use for The Wraith, my living ship that I already have is better and I still barely ever use it, meanwhile either of those two ships I mentioned are something I've been wanting to get my hands on for a while.

Is there a way to move my whole base to a new location? [Question]

I’ve been on the planet I started on for as long as been playing (around 125 hours), and it’s horrible, I made my base on a mountain so there is no where for me to expand, as well as being built next to a structure, so I can’t expand that way either. So before I put more hours in, I want to move my base to a better planet, but I want to know if there is a way for me to move my whole base at once to a new outpost.

How do you copy mutlitool and starship for expeditions? [Question]

I may be the dummy here but everywhere I search to find how you make a copy of your ship and multitool literally just tells you to make a copy in the video or text. WTF!?? Imagine going to school to learn math and the teacher just tells you to learn it. I am on PS5 and I go to the terminal and notice I can put all the stuff like technology and items into that page. But I see nowhere to make a copy of ship and multitool. Can someone please help me out? I don't want to screw this up. I love this game, but they don't explain anything at all and all the videos I watched and pages, articles just literally tell you to make a copy. Duh!!! HOW? Crashed freighter - center cargo container the worst? [Discussion]

HI all, My sense is that central cargo container at a crashed freighter site tends to have worse rewards than all the others. I seems the best rewards seem to always come from the other containers. I'm wondering if other players sense the same thing?

(I'm referring to the container ear the arched doorway, probably nearest the crew data log capsule.) Anyhow, just a sense after visiting many of these crash sites.

I lost all of my progress after completing the expedition. [Bug]

So yesterday I decided to check out expeditions for the first time. I did so from my main save which had around 300 hours on it and apparently this has reset all of my progress.

I thought something was amiss when I could not find the option in the options menu to revert to my main save, so I went to the anomaly and tried to pause the expedition at the terminal but it just told me that I needed to complete the expedition first.

I was almost finished with it, so I thought, alright I'll do just that.

But when I completed the expedition everything stayed the same. I could not find any of my former bases, or starships, all of my story progress. It's pretty much been wiped out.

I do not know what happened, I only have one main save which I use for everyting, I started the expedition using that save and it seems like it has overwritten it, taking me back to the start and deleted all of my progress.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what to do to recover it?

Starborn Phoenix Claim Issue [Question]

So i claimed it on my steam account back in Dec (id like to use it on a nee game on my ps5 via cross save but it looks like thats been full for a while, so cant do that yet).

When i first claimed it i went into my saved game on steam (which was pretty much at the beginning of the game) and confirmed I had it.

Since then I stopped playing for a while, and restarted a new save today. When I started the game, and tried to summon it as another ship - it wasn’t listed.

Do I have to be further along in the story before actually being able to see it in my inventory, or is it a but and Im just screwed now as far as having it in new saves/campaigns?

I cannot figure out for the life of me how to get a walker brain! [Question]

I have been trying to get a walker brain the last several days now. I do not know if this is a bug or what. I have tried many different types of planets. I have used sentinel boundary maps. I just cannot find that big walker for wave five. It is almost always this guy in the first picture, or it's the four legged one. Never have I ever once playing this game for the 50 hours that I have found a big one.

Usually after fighting the first wave, the sentinels just stop coming. And then it will time out on the searching and then it will be over.

It's irritating and frustrating. I dont know what to do.

Xbox series s vs MacBook Pro m3 [Discussion]

I know it’s hard to see in this photo, however I just tried playing no man’s sky on a Mac via cloud gaming and the lighting and water physics are significantly better when playing on Mac. This is very confusing as you would have thought cloud gaming would be worse visually then an Xbox series s. Anyone have an explanation?

Luxury Home (Updated) [Build]

I uploaded a very short video last week of my “luxury” home build.

Since then I’ve updated a decent amount of things. Should be at/around the part limit.

-Added second landing pad. -Attempted some interior decorating. Not my strength. -Added a kitchen.
-Worked on surrounding scenery. -Updated lighting.

I think I’m at my limit for this base. I want to keep my bases under 3000 pieces so if anyone wants to visit they get the full upload.

Note on the art made of decals. Each time you load up the game the depth of where the decals sit changes. So, the art work changes every time. Kind of cool, unless you specifically want the decals sitting a certain way. It’s not a big issue in my build but if you are looking to do the same with the decals just be warned.

Alright! Thanks for taking the time to view these pics. I would have done a longer video post than last time but as far as I know you can only upload 3 minutes? Not sure I could cover every thing. I’m going to attempt to make a video and upload it on YouTube. Pics don’t do just about any base uploaded onto here justice. Could be my photography I guess?

This base is on a paradise planet in the Euclid galaxy. Glyphs should be in some of the pics. Come visit! Way better in person.

Can anyone confirm if X mods are better than S for neutron cannon now? [Question]

I saw in the Worlds 2 update notes that they “fixed and issue where X mods had lower potential than S mods” but I can’t find updated stats anywhere.

I farmed almost perfect S mods on my main save. I’m about to farm them on a new save I started a few days ago. Want to make sure I know what I’m shooting for first.

So this is my planet Vinland (from Vinland Saga anime , reminds me a lot…) I made this house with Brutalism, Modern Minimalism, Futurism and Art Nouveau. I spent a lot of time building everything. How do you enable item labels in inventory on PC [Question]

I originally started my search for a mod that would display item labels on the badges so I didn't have to hover each and every one, and noticed several mods with images depicting exactly what I wanted, such as https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1634/images/2074/2074-1631231303-1483420870.jpeg

However, continuing my search for how to enable these labels kept producing results for ARK, instead of NMS.

Is this a setting, or a button that I've missed? How can this be activated?

Dying in space with ship blown to smithereens> [Question]

Newbie question: So I've been playing for a few days now, in Normal mode, and I've gotten to where I've met Artemus twice now via hologram. I know what happens when I get killed on planet but I remain curious as to what happens when I'm killed, in space, with my spaceship getting all blown up. Most content providers seem to leave this out of their tutorials. Care to enlighten me?

I can’t locate certain substances [Bug]

I'm playing nms and I found out about the locate substances feature, but I really want to find a gas giant and a water planet. I tried locating the substances for those planets but the option won't come up. Is this a bug or something?

I have a friend who passed away in 2021 and he played the game for a while. This las month I have been playing the game religiously and now I want to see if I can find a planet or a system he discovered. Build a base there so I have some connection to him still.

Ship storage and the expedition? [Question]

If I use the ship storage to store a cool ship I found while on the expedition, will that ship still be in my storage when I return to my main save?

I found this nice looking ship (only C, so some upgrades needed) with good maneuverability, and I'd like to keep it by I imagine my main ship from the expedition will be the living ship

Investing in Dreadnought [Question]

Somewhat new to the game after not having played it since launch. But I managed to get a dreadnaught and was lucky enough for it to be A class (could've been worse lol). I claimed it. Just wondering if it is worth investing time upgrading it with technology and interior or should I just wait to run into an S class at some point? In terms of money, I can easily purchase an S class if i ever run into one, so the whole 'leaving the dreadnaught so you can get an S class for free' advice doesn't really bother me too much

Hoping I can transfer everything over. Shame you can't upgrade the class like you can with personal ships. Thanks

Nms vr ps5 can’t select game. [Question]

I’ve just got the vr set up and turned on no man’s sky. It’s telling me to hold r2 to select game and nothing is happening. I cant find any information on this. All buttons were responding when setting up the vr controllers and space. I’ve tried to hit every button on the controllers. Everything is tracking I just can’t select

Loving the game, but for the LOVE of GOD. HOW DO I GET A NEW SHIP, they’re all overpriced and whenever I try to find a sentinel ship, first off I just don’t have the parts, and won’t until I then unlock my advanced mining tool, which takes this, which takes this, etc etc like come ON dude it just feels like an endless cycle of doing this to go to that to go do that, I just want a NEW SHIP.. Are Languages Procedurally Generated as well? [Question]

I’m curious, are the original untranslated words of the races all procedurally generated as well?

I noticed that my translation doesn’t match the translation found on the wiki or anywhere for that matter. I’m curious to see if you guys have the same untranslated word or is it different for you too?

(To check, goto Catalogue, then Collected Knowledge and there you can see all the words you learned and the original untranslated word.)

What if you could customize your freighter crew? [Suggestion]

Perhaps each different crew member provides buffs to various freighter or frigate fleet operations. They could have classes, Specifications, personalities even. Maybe you pay them and it’s a great way to spend your late game units. It just occurred to me while I was playing. Would be a great reason to open conversations with all sorts of different characters from all over the Universe if one of them is hiding the fact that you can hire him for +10 boost to overall combat efficiency for your frigate fleet, or hire another for a 500 LY boost to your warp range, or another that cuts your refining time on your freighter in half, one that regularly gives you cooking ingredients, etc. hiring more of the same type can provide synergistic buffs from them working together.

Personally I think it would be awesome.

Launch player [Question]

Growing up I often talked with my Dad about Space/science etc. so when he died in 2015 I decided to dedicate a planet to him and due to updates & such I lost that save. How to do story with a friend? [Question]

My buddy is playing this game for the first time so I started a new world with him. But I don’t really understand the co-op. Like his main mission to interact with the base computer won’t work on my base computer he has to build his own base far away and do it on his own base computer. What limitations are there for co-op are there as far as the main missions go I guess? Just tryna to play the game with him but wanna get some of this missions done. And how does loot work do we both get stuff or only the first person?

Do Exotic Planets Need a Makeover? [Suggestion]

Now that Worlds Parts 1 & 2 have made the standard planets more diverse and interesting, I feel like the so-called “exotic” planets are a little outdated. There’s, what, like 12 or so variations of basically a barren planet with a handful of weird-looking plant types that don’t look much weirder than the stuff you find on normal planets nowadays. Whenever I’m exploring I always skip the Exotics because once you’ve seen one wacky hexagon planet, you’ve seen them all. The Chromatic Planets are a little better, but again, aside from the neato color filters, they don’t really feel any weirder than normal planets anymore.

Some Vague Ideas for Revamping the Exotics:

** Frothing Planets:** These are now actual frothing planets, with an entirely aquatic surface obscured by a thick cloud of steam and bubbles bubbling up from the surface of the water. The Blood-Balloons roam above the water, while at the sea floor lurks the strange, towering beasts that produce these bubbles….

To increase variety, The Bubbles now come in an assortment of colors, and are occasionally shaped like cubes for no reason.

Planets of Light: The ground is criss-crossed by gaping crevices through which an eerie light glows. The source is extremely luminescent water that is home to a strange sea creature….

To increase variety, The color of the beam glow is now randomized.

Hexagon Planets: The actual surface structure of the planet is now broken up into hexagons at mismatched elevations, with some of these plates towering above the rest as monoliths. these fractures have revealed perfectly hexagonal caves carved into the metallic bedrock. But are these caves? Or are they hives….

To increase variety, the color of the glowing bits is now randomized., and plated trees now take on a wider variety of shapes, from sorta-pine-tree-shaped to sorta-palm-tree-shaped....

I can't do Memories of Atlantid but I did everything up to it [Question]

I finished the Atlas path. I followed the "They Who Returned" path all the way up to the Prayers of the Machine. And when I finished it, I built the Voltaic Staff and...nothing happened. I didn't get another mission. I thought it was kind of anticlimactic but figured it was just bad writing.

I only discovered recently that's not how it was supposed to go. I wanted to go to a purple system and needed an Atlantid drive so I searched how to get one. And read this.

Engage your starship's pulse drive. The quest will start automatically after engaging pulse drive.

Before the mission is triggered, the starship's pulse engine will deactivate and a Divergence Fragment Space Encounter will appear in front of them. The fragment will attempt to communicate with you through the starship communicator. When you open the communicator, the fragment will say hello to you and asks if you are a "Wearer-Entity" or a "Worn-Entity". After further conversation, ending the communications starts the mission.

None of that happened. I've used my pulse drive lots of times, been to dissonance worlds and portals and Atlas since getting the staff and they're just like normal. I don't know how to trigger this happening.

Any ideas?

I was showing my friend the ropes of the game, when I saw an exotic ship with the coolest color way ever out of the corner of my eye. I imiedietly ran closer followed by my friend as I was yelling for him to buy the ship, as I gave him about 32 million to upgrade from the starter ship. As soon as we started running towards it, it flew off. It waited. For us. To notice it. Before flying off. I hate this game. (It’s my favorite game)

New to the game, any tips or advice appreciated. [Discussion]

Hi all, been playing this for a couple of days now and so far I'm really enjoying it.

1 issue that I'm having is I keep finding myself running out of inventory space, so if someone can let me know what materials are worth keeping, what I should discard/sell, and what I should keep on my ship vs on my person, that would be awesome.

Another issue is that I suck at making buildings. This is why I've never gotten into Minecraft or other games where you build stuff. Do you have to have a base? Is it possible for someone to join my game and build something for me, if they're willing to? Are there detailed plans anywhere online that I can copy?

Also, I'm very new to Xbox, so if anyone wants to add me to join me in my exploration of the universe, feel free to send me a DM. I don't have any friends on there yet.

Guys I really need help [Question]

Hey my fellow travellers, I've been trying to reach the center of the galaxy and I've made it to on jump away but the planet that's the gate keeper requires me to have the antlantian hyper drive or whatever it's called. I've flown around and around trying to find another way to get to the center without having to deal with the blockage and I haven't found any way around it. Load the expedition terminal from your freighter inventory [Information]

For those who take suspicious tech and arms modules into an expedition, you would have noticed the stack size in your exosuit is 50 each. When you move that to the expedition terminal, your stack size stays 50. However, in your freighter inventory the stack size of these modules is 100. If you go to the expedition terminal, you can move stuff straight from the freighter inventory to the terminal, so you get to take 100 modules per stack into the terminal. Saves some space, you can now either take twice the amount of modules or have 1 more slot available.This obviously works for anything the freighter inventory allows for larger stack sizes than the exosuit.

Land Excavation [Bug]

Im building a HUGE glass pyramid around a portal. I have most of the pyramid built and to make it easier in the long run for myself I thought I would excavate the surrounding land. I get half way through and almost all of it spawns back in. Ive been doing this for HOURS ON END thinking its a glitch but im starting to think its more of a bug. I never thought my blood would boil on such a peaceful game but damn after 10hrs hours or more of flattening and mining for it all just to spawn back in is crazy. It even covers my part of the pyramid i already built theres panels in the floor Any ideas on what it could he. . Also the ground will sometime just disappear and i can fall through the planet but it spawns me back.

Rendezvous photos impossible after milestones auto completed [Bug]

Hey everyone,

I saw a few posts about this already with coordinates for all the Titan expedition rendezvous coordinates, but has a fix been released yet? It's pretty gruesome to get to the right coordinates, but even then taking a photo doesn't trigger the milestone, so pretty much stuck on everything until this is fixed...

Does anyone else wish expeditions came about more often? [Question]

It feels like just as I’m getting into one, it’s already over. I love the unique challenges and rewards, but the long gaps between them make the wait frustrating. It’d be great if they ran more frequently or if there was a way to revisit past expeditions without waiting for reruns. Doing expeditions with many others around it’s just such a great feeling What do you think?

Settlement chart keeps pointing me to the same settlement [Question]

So, I finally found the perfect planet in the perfect system and want to start a new settlement and base here.

I used a settlement chart and found one, but it's in a crappy location and has a way smaller population than I want to start out with, so I wanted to find another one on the same planet.

I keep saving the game, using a settlement chart, reloading and doing it all over again but the settpement charts keep pointing me to the same settlement.

Is there anything I can do to find a different settlement on the same planet?

Technical Assist required for NMS - New Radeon Video Card Settings [Question]

Hi folks, hope someone can help. I upgraded my video card (GTX1070) to a spanky new Radeon RX9070XT.

Could someone help me the graphics settings for maximum visual quality in game? Apart from setting everything to Ultra, which would be the better for GTAO, AntiAliasing, etc, etc? I'm not up to speed on the which is the current best for visual quality.

Just found out the world’s update II requires this. [Discussion]

Having to do the storyline to get a drive to transition galaxies now.

This is a huge disappointment. I had realized I needed to do the quests to jump to the purple stars to do gas giants and I decided I was not interested. But now I’m required to do the storyline quests to do something I was previously allowed to do? That’s so super lame. I’ll be putting the the game down now for, most likely, an extended period of time. Most likely until it reverts. I’d like to explore gas giants, but I’m not going to be forced to endure a storyline that I don’t care about. I am here for the sandbox experience. Thankfully I got the achievement on my permadeath save a long time ago, but I won’t be able to transmission galaxies there either, and that was my whole kick out of permadeath is seeing how many galaxies I could get to while exploring interesting planets before I got wiped.

Makes me sad.

How do you identify deep water worlds? [Question]

So I know about the purple system stuff and the parents but the deepest I’ve found one to be I’d like 1.4kU and I know it can go deeper but I’ve never found one as such, I’m in Euclid so is there a different world generation for different galaxies ie are there more water worlds in certain galaxies. Any help would be much appreciated :)

Stuck on news screen for ps vr2 [Bug]

Dang Void Egg not activating. [Question]

Every couple of weeks or so I'll grab an egg from QS shop and look for a better living ship Problem is that thing won't trigger starbirth mission.

Non activated egg in exosuit inventory.........check. In system far away from target planet...........check

Survival modes [Suggestion]

I'd just love to see some.

Taking on increasingly difficult waves of sentinels on the surface or in space. Perhaps even cooperatively as a nexus mission.

How about saving some freighters from waves of fighters and freighters.

Maybe a version where the fight starts planet side then moves to space.

Time limited sentinel tower disabling... Multiple towers?

(PS5 so mods aren't the answer for me)

instead of coming on here and complaining, I’m now coming to ask, since I simply can’t figure some stuff out myself or by the help of YouTube videos I’m going to ask here

What is an easy way to make money at the start of the game? I’ve started farming salt and that’s been pretty productive, I’ve even set a base camp there but it is still a bit slower than I’d like. Any tips?

That one rare underground creature that is always missing to complete all fauna in that planet, do it spawn in player made caves? I am assuming that if I dig a bug cave underground and it counts as spawn ground for underground fauna, the spawn rates will raise, right?

Some thoughts [Discussion]

As a day one player, I have very rarely ever bothered with moving on to other galaxies. Like I've done it 3(?) times. With the additions added with worlds part 2, a couple of thoughts have occurred to me.

  1. People keep complaining that the new content is only available after going to a new galaxy. I think that is exactly the point. To get people to explore more galaxies. To get people (like me), to actually do the Artemis quest line, and experience the joy/sorrow/anger at the lore.

  2. Hello games kinda lost out on a fantastic opportunity with the different galaxies. Each galaxy could have been a slightly different variation on the dominate species. The historical points of interest that could have/did happen. In one galaxy Korvax prime wasn't enslaved/destroyed. In another, the first spawn are still watching from the outer edges. In another, Nal was the victor over Hirk, and the vykeen have a slightly different outlook on ... everything. hahaha.

Anyways. just thought id share whats been rambling through my head for the past few weeks.

Living ship storage [Question]

Sorry if this question has already been answered I did a search before I posted and couldn’t find what I was looking for. I have tried all the single player methods of finding storage upgrades for my living ships but can’t seem to get any at all. I was just wondering is there any specific expeditions or star systems that might help? I have sent out countless expeditions and they always come back with psychonic eggs and nothing else of use.

Trade Loop - Easy Income. [Suggestion]

This might be interesting for anyone in the early stages looking to build up their Units.

I spent a few hours building a Red-Orange-Yellow-Cyan-Red trade loop. Each system was 3-star (to ensure 5 discounted products) and had a discount of at least 28%. It took some time to find the four systems (remember to use the Economy filter on the Galaxy map), but the result was worth it.

Use the Economy scanner from your ship after you've warped into the system to find a Trading Post, then build a simple set up of a base computer, teleporter, solar panel and battery (as per the image) - and you're all set to loop between the systems.

Buying the maximum of each product then selling it all at the next stop made a total of 38 Million units in just a few minutes on one Red-Orange-Yellow-Cyan-Red rotation.

From a player that's got over 3000 hours in since NEXT: Collected ship and staff pieces should really go into a catalogue. [Discussion]

I do not like to run out of things. I go out of my way to collect and keep materials because it drives me nuts when I have to stop a mission because I don't have something so I make sure to stock up on things that I'm aware of are often needed for trading to NPCs or are required for QS missions. So it goes without saying that my freighter is meticulously well-organized and stocked with stuff.

That being said, ship and staff pieces taking up physical space is not working out for me and I really want to keep experimenting with different configurations without wasting the parts because, well, some of them can be really damn hard to find.

I propose that buying staff pieces and scrapping ships should still give physical parts BUT they are unlocked in a catalogue which then costs nanites to use from if you don't currently have the physical part. Not thousands upon thousands of nanites. Maybe 50 to 100 nanites per part you do not physically have.

I just think it would be easier for everyone, really. Nanites aren't terribly hard to make or find once you get to know the ins and outs of No Man's Sky and we'd still be out collecting the pieces, perhaps even more if we got to keep the pieces, and be having a lot more freedom to customize.

Sentinels bugged since update [Bug]

3 times since the update I've tried to finish phase 5 and all 3 times the sentinels bug out and say there are -1 left. If I leave the area they start searching as if there is an invisible sentinel. This time I dug the hell out of the ground just to see if something might of glitched into it and I couldn't find anything.

Anyone else had this since the update?

Has anyone found a Paradise planet in Euclid while playing in Permadeath Abandoned mode? [Question]

After 110 warps in Permadeath Abandoned mode I have yet to find a Paradise planet. I've seen plenty of storm free Lush planets, but not one Paradise planet yet. All my warps have been in Euclid galaxy. I'm wondering if HG has also eliminated the chance of finding Paradise planets along with all the other restrictions in abandoned mode or if I've just been that unlucky.

Also, has anyone found a Paradise planet in Eissentam while playing in Permadeath Abandoned mode? My first playthrough in Abandoned mode was in Normal and I found plenty of Paradise planets in Eissentam and that was probably due to Normal mode not having the higher difficulty settings of Permadeath.

Derelict Freighter and Festering Pistules [Suggestion]

Pustules. I died twice aboard that freighter. Space Horrors got me and then, while trying to retrieve my stuff, having no ammo, they got me again. I was so afraid everything I had in my inventory would be gone after that second death, but luckily I was able to get it. In all my hours of playing, having done probably a dozen or more of these, I had not seen the Horrors before. Is it something new? But I learned the trick to not aggravate them so I'll be better prepared next time. It pays to watch the hints in the bottom right corner of my screen

So I played this game a bit a long while ago. Just came back recently (like last week lol) and wow has the game ever improved! I have been playing on a custom game (easy mode lol) but decided to have a go at Expedition 17 and am going to be making a new save as the limited resources etc have made it that much more fun for me. My question is, now that I've finished the Expedition, what all do I drop in the Expedition terminal thing so I can use it once I get back to the anomaly? Would really hate to leave something behind and not be able to use it in what will be likely my new permanent save. TIA

Can't see players [Question]

For some reason I cannot see other players on the anomaly/system, and initially I could not see other players bases too. I seem to have noticed it about 4 months ago

Now it seems to be limited to other players. I do see the bases now (before I did not)

Discovery Services is always online

Tried turn off Multiplayer and back on, quit to desktop. verified files, downloaded game, checked firewall , turned off windows firewall rebooted modem, and using a vpn.

question regarding expeditions for switch players (such as myself) [Question]

i feel like i already know the answer to this, but i still wanna ask because i am foolishly optimistic 🕺

i play nms on the switch cause its the only gaming console i have, and ive been playing for a while so far i have completed 7 expeditions (Titan, Cursed, Aquarius, Liquidators, Adrift, Omega, and Beachhead) and i really wanna play the others but i dont know how to start them or if i can at all

ive partially completed 4 of them (Polestar, The Blighted, Exobiology, and The Pioneers) and the rest are just deemed as Historical, is there any way i can complete at least a few of these now? or are they just gonna be forever unfinished for me? am i missing something? moving forward i plan to build a PC, do i just have to wait to play/finish them till then??

Disappointed in starship variety and the starship customisation. Am I missing something? [Discussion]

I have 130 hours in this game. I have loved it so far! One of the only games I've ever played that's actually blown my mind. It's not my favourite but it's definitely up there.

I feel like for a game that emphasizes planetary and galatic exploration, your starship should be extremely important.

But the ship variety is disappointing. Regardless of class like fighter, solar, hauler, sentinel, exotic, exploer there's like 2 or 3 different looks per class.

It's disappointing that even when you spend the time destroying ships, looking for specific parts, that you can't paint your starship the colour(s) you want.

Am I missing something here?

I find it crazy that the customizations for your character and buildings are huge, but for the things that are with you all the time have limited customizations. I guess your character is with you 247 haha.

Purple system access on new expedition save [Question]

I've seen some conflicting info, so can someone please clarify - if I do the expedition on a new save, will that save have access to the purple systems after the expedition is over, or do I still need to do the questlines first in order to unlock them? Question about expedition 7: Leviathan on PC [Question]

Just working my way through the expeditions on PC but number 7 has me worried. The write up says “Permadeath warning: It is not possible to finish this expedition in permadeath mode. If you can avoid death until the final milestone, your expedition AND primary save will be deleted by “submitting.”

Anyone experienced this expedition to know what the above means? My primary save is not permadeath. It suggests avoiding death is good but that your primary save will be deleted, which isn’t good.

I ran over to my portal, popped in the glyphs, and found the location quickly. However, I foolishly forgot to go offline before stepping through the portal and the ship was gone when I got there. Just flames on the ground where I assume it would be sitting, and the broken autophage robot dude laying in some debris. I’ve tried jumping systems, teleporting back, and even going through my portal again and no luck. Is that ship gone to me forever? Any help would be greatly appreciated, y’all.

Expedition help [Question]

Hi everyone, im looking for some guidance before I rage quit this game. I started the expedition and now im supposed to go to a new star system. Welp, there is no copper in the entire system and I can't charge my warp drive thingy. There's no functioning space station so I can't buy copper. I've been flying around and walking around for literally hours and there isn't one deposit anywhere. I haven't been able to find an abandoned ship which I've seen suggested online either. Is locating resources in warp map broken? [Screenshot]

I just can not get this reliably work anymore. Is there a known bug with this right now? Here’s what I do: Select the resource in the catalog (which adds the “Locate __” mission to the log. Make sure the mission is selected. Open the warp map from my freighter. Search for a planet nearby with the expected blue diamond icon (which indicates a planet with this resources).

No matter how much I look, which galaxy map filters I enable, or which galaxy map “path” I’ve selected (“Mission path” isn’t available to select) I just can’t get these to appear. Things I’ve tried: Using the planetary scanner on the freighter. Double checking that the discovery network is active. Scanning my personal resource visor scanner while standing on the freighter. Getting in my starship and activating the scanner there. Looking at the warm map on my starship.

Is there some step I’m missing here or maybe some aspect of this I’m not understanding? Would love any help or info you might have!

Building underwater [Build]

So with the update, I was able to find an underwater base location of 2013us. My idea was to build a base that looks like a crashed ship, but if I make it two floors I get this water glitch we're im swimming in my base. Does anyone know how to work around this? I don't want 10 stories, just a two to three floors.

I completed the expedition and did it on a brand new save instead of using my main one. So now I’m trying to figure out a way to transfer my expedition ( Titan ) inventory over to my main save. Possibly Bugged Sentinel Ship Battle? [Bug]

I was just on my way to a space station when I was notified of a hostile ship scan. No biggie, I can fight some pirates. However part way through the battle some sentinel ships showed up and I had to fight them too. Once again, no big deal, I've taken a sentinel freighter before. However this time it got up to 12 sentinel ships attacking me simultaneously. Alright, I can handle this, I just need to repair my shield frequently. However every single time I had 9 sentinel ships remaining, if I destroyed 1 more, instead of going down to 8, it would go up to 11. I must have destroyed a couple dozen sentinel ships and used up 18 radiant shards before I gave up. I never even saw the sentinel freighter. Has anyone else experienced this before? Was that supposed to happen?

Just Accidentally Exchanged my Ship [Question]

So I was using this solar ship for a long time and had it super decked out but wanted to build another one with a different color scheme. Got all the parts and what not and built it in the space station. Well apperentally theres an option to claim or exchange ship for some reason, didnt notice, clicked until i got out of menu's (I was impatient in hindsight). Now, the ship is gone, with everything i had installed and put it its inventory. Whats sucks too is that if this was a deal with an alien at least I could buy it back but nooo, as far as im concerned its gone and now i think im not gonna play for a few weeks because i do not have the patience to grind nanites and upgrade the new one to the same glory.

Any Borderlands fans? Got a fun project im working on.(Eissentam) [Build]

Floating city in the eissentam galaxy many know the name, Sanctuary from Bl2 its a project I want to complete I've always been a big borderlands fan and love building in games.

No where near completed and given my schedule probably won't be anytime soon😅 anyways, I just wanted to get it out there I figured yall would find it cool. As of right now I have all major rooms apart from moxxi but interiors are primarily empty from decoration but the layouts are set. Except the whole cities on a flat plane don't judge it's complicated😂. Not uploaded yet, plus idk if it will even let me from the size.

Fun fact: Used AI to help scale to a sanctuary to NMS measurements from a grid i made and used Universal adjacent for a majority of the foundation so it didn't take up as much of the 5000 limit.

Galaxy map not showing planet counts in VR [Question]

Hi,

I noticed VR mode does not show planets in the galaxy map. I see them just fine in desktop mode.
Is this a bug? Are other people still having the issue? Just wanted to ask as most of the older posts on this topic are years old.

I'm happy with a workaround or anything at this point. I mostly like hunting for planets and do a lot of warping, so prefer avoiding systems with 1 or 2 planets.

I've filed a bug about this a year ago here (https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new). I still haven't found a workaround or solution.

Any help is much appreciated!

POIs on Gas Giants? [Question]

Just started the Expedition, and am cruising around the first planet (a gas giant) to build my first base...

I normally like to build my bases around POIs (such as Minor Settlements or Planetary Archives), and I'm not seeing either of those on this gas giant... which kinda makes sense, tbh.

So I upgraded from ps4 to ps5 and now I can use my old saves? Seems pretty shit to me. So I have to wait till I get the beta unlocked before I can play my old save from ps4?
