You can do it if you call your freighter fleet into the asteroid field. Then if you land on frigate which is next to asteroids, you can with jetpack go walk on them. Or better said - above them, because they have sort of invisible wall/collision detection around them. Which also breaks the game, as it may block some paths to broken components on the frigate. But you can fix it by blowing the asteroid up.

Yeah, going to be like that for a while, and once you max out their organs cripes are they cheap to operate. Seriously, full S class pulse organs (6+1) reduce the draw to near-nothing, same for warp organs, and launch organs.

Just found a really cool base building feature. I left a hole in my base. Just on one level of the base (the base is underground). The world regenned on that one level alone. Using that technique, I was able to basically put all my furniture items etc in stone, so the world regenned around them, encasing them partially.

So far I've only done it with my storage container to hide gaps between the container and walls, but it looks like it could be a cool as hell technique if it pans out.

I don't hate many creatures, as someone who loves rats, snakes, bees and sharks... but Jellyfish freak me out. Like, they have no nervous system and stinging tentacles. This is true alien physiology becuse this cluster of cells functions without a command center, yet STILL manages to be an asshole. Add in the fact they can't be seen in the water so easily and Sea Wasps exist in good ol' 'straila I honestly think they are only surpassed by bobbit worms and nematodes on the "nuke the ocean" chart.

I was on a planet yesterday for the final part of starbirth and a player built a structure like this around the abandoned building (looked very much like your base) they set up a save point and refiners. It was awesome I should have taken a picture

my suspicion is that for ease of data structuring, all rewards are coded as items internally, and then there's an event handler that gets fired when you obtain an item and checks to see if it's a special item that should be "converted" into units/nanites/reputation/etc. And a bug on one of my expeditions interfered with this event handler somehow, and so the Get Units ended up stuck in the inventory rather than getting processed into actual units.
