@harsh lion create an oblong mound with the terrain manipulator and put the base computer on one end, then place flooring around it and build your base from there, the mound can be removed later... if you want to make it look nice and accurate then use some of the half arches to support the floor. As the base is now not on the ground you won't get anything growing through the floor... its how I build all my bases.

I have fully repaired my beloved Omen of Frost, the first abandoned ship I claimed during the tutorial mission and upgrade from Radiant Pillar. I repaired the thruster and pulse engine first, then I've been driving it while repairing the rest slowly. Activated copper was the last thing I needed which I just found. Repairing this ship has taught me a lot about the game. I feel proud accomplishing it.

That’s a hell lot of work to repair those, but sometimes fun to do. And they do teach you a lot of where to find certain stuff.

@stone yoke Unfortunatley, terrain regeneration is a thing. To avoid it, build up above the terrain.

We do wish to help new players from our community, as we do both share expert and beginners! It is hard to maintain a common presence in both channels when I have a lot to focus on in the other; but I do wish to have some presence here, and as I said, perhaps have been too eager to recruit and get a good kick start to my smaller community, considering this is the general one for NMS, and not individual communities! I'll ensure to reduce direct recruitment and am always open to discussion to aid other members, or talk about other matters in the right sections, or via PMs should it start to cause irritation for one like yourself. I'd rather not have the bad taste with any of the NMS community, I wish to help it, and just get the work I want to put in to be known; as I know NMS communities are quite a hard thing to build from looking and being in a fair few!

I wish I knew why sometimes the tentacles are long, and sometimes short. At least on my saves, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with being retracted for landing, or anything.
or maybe I just miss a lot, since I always fly in 1st person POV.
