I am much fonder of the star wars style, because the caterpillar (sentinel) style always catches my ships in their antennae when I launch. I've died a lot that way. LOL.
I tend to think the 1 extra slot isn't worth it, either, unless the 34 slot one is one you really like: colors, style, etc.

I rarely go for S-class, unless I luck into them. A decently tricked out explorer or exotic can out-leap an S-class freighter, so unless you use your freighter to warp a lot it's not really a big deal.

Be a bit wary of underground building. Terrain regenerates. It might get filled in. A lot of veteran builders recommend building up a bit, off the ground.

@timid swallow looks like Hello Games have cocked up yet again... you cannot create the terrain and there is no way to assign a button to it either, just checked... so until they fix it the game is unplayable if you need to do anything with terrain/base building.... when building a base I usually build a platform to place the computer on... can no longer do that so I'll come back and check after the next patch.

@timid swallow found a solution, for the keyboard there is a manipulate terrain key, for the controller there is not... you just need to assign the Fire Weapons option to the Right Trigger of the Quick Menu [on foot] section

Some old stuff had real caps. Not crap caps of today. I have a Galaga arcade machine from '81 and that dude is still working great. (Have only done monitor pot adjustments because of weather changes) There are many C64 out there still working, no repair. Gameboy was backlit with a green/yellow and pixels were very dark blueish green. Hosted my own BBS from a Packard Bell 286 12mhz with a 40Mb hard drive LOL. And last but not least....Just drawing that screen on an Apple IIe in "Hi-res" mode like that would take maybe 3-5 seconds per frame/screen, (1/5 fps) without running the game or anything else but Basic.

First visit to this base of mine since Beyond, I guess. Second base I have that the update (or one of the patches) "tilted."
Now when I put something on a wall, it looks tilted, because it's perp to the ground and the base is a few degrees not.
Odd.

In general, the flat, star destroyer ones are called Venator, and the tall skinny ones are called Sentinel. They have more names depending on how long they are, but I' can't find that list at the moment.

There is much there that can be cut down to reduce the number of pieces used per save.
Electromagnetic power and Gas/Mineral is right in the center of the respective platforms.

- 1 Teleporter;
- 1 Save Point module;
- 1 Galactic Trade Terminal;
- 1 Nutrient Processor;
- 3 or 4 medium refiners.
I place the bare minimum of storage containers but the space is set for an almost infinite expansion.
I would have 2 landing pads but it would look off to me, so 3. Not one because sometimes NPC occupy it and I can't land.

1.0 just has the basic 174 colors I made initially, 1.1 rounds it out to 200 with some colors that were more-or-less overlooked in 1.0, and 1.2 adds a chunky range of blue-based colors that brings the total to 280. A future version might actually cut a bunch of the first set, since I feel that a lot of them are a bit erroneous
But I am also considering a different approach where I just use some techniques I've come up with along the way to produce a full-circle range. In other words a better/smarter-made full-replacement

It would probably change if you change what version of mod you're using, but for example v 1.1 should ALWAYS cause the same ocean color regardless of uninstalling or reinstalling it

It will generate different colors than 1.1, but if you want that color back, 1.1 will still cause the same color again if reinstalled

Actually they usually blacklist the system's MAC address which is a device specific unque number, which means that machine can never network again
even if you sell it to someone else or move to a new place with a new IP or wipe the system and reinstall everything

Sure, if you have an old PC with two network cards. There are versions of linux or BSD designed for that, in fact. But that's not quite the same as a VPN.
