My first ship was called Prodigal Son as it cost a bomb to fix, which I paid because it looked good. Second was Prodigious Son, because it was awesome in almost every way, 38 slot A class fighter and looked decent (though the Next update messed with its colours a bit). Like I said this newest addition is going to be just out and out pulse drive upgrades and as many guns and modules as possible, so I settled for Punishing Son.

ya seems like that did it, but hbao is kind of a big deal to have one otherwise. it adds a lot
I think its something to do with the way they made the glass transparency in the ships. It has a sort of tinting, possibly made out of think lines of opaque next to clear. It seems like it is making a diffraction grating with the pixels. I'm sure I can find a modder to swap out the windshield texture for a 100% transparent one later today.
