I've encountered insects before. They fly in clumps of upwards of 20 and buzz in a cloud. usually they are large enough to see, but yours are probably just very small

More disappoinent will come when your base gets swallowed by the regerating ground. If you used your terrain manioulator to dig it out that is.

Yeah, the only way to permanently prevent ground from regenerating is to dig it out via base parts (the way the base parts can dig into mountains and flatten terrain when being set down). This will remove ground and it won't come back (as of a recent patch). The downside is that there is a limit, and once it's hit, base parts will not dig out ground for you anymore. Worse, when you delete base parts, you won't get the digging allowance back (a bug being worked on).
Terrain manipulator has a completely separate meter for saving terrain edits, that when full, start to overwrite the oldest edits with the newest ones. Meaning that if you dug your base out with the manipulator, then eventually from harvesting ground resources, your base will eventually fill back in. The game stores a list of terrain edits made with the manipulator (~5,000 of them -- though each 'block' removed counts as 1) and when you hit 5,000, it starts over at the beginning.
@raven basin This is all because terrain edits have to be saved somewhere, and they're saved clientside in your personal save file. Since the consoles have very strict save file size allowances, HG can't let your save bloat with terrain manipulation data. This affects PC too, because all versions of the game are the same.
Also these limitations are save-wide (as you probably gathered from my previous statement) so anything done on one planet affects all others. You're not safe by just mining elsewhere.

The pods will generate stuff for warp cells, and sometimes warpcells outright. You can do this in the base game

white is a test color for my mod (I aim to make a grass colors mod that has more diversity instead of being ALL brights or ALL pastels etc like others)
thought the blue dragon over red trees on an ice white planet had a pretty interesting look so I thought Id share 😃

my fav planets are extreme cold, so damn pretty it makes up for the fact that it also has agressive sentinels and hoards of creatures who can 2 shot me
though being rich in resources helps too
I built all my huge bases on extreme cold worlds, deep underground though.

id rather they fix the things that would take less than a minuite instead of ignoring them, and them maybe fix some of the much larger issues before adding more updates which will most likely also have issues

yea i suppose your right but working with code sometimes it dosent take less then a minute and even if it is a short fix it can lead to many other issues it is nice to have a bug free game but they are so minimal and not game breaking that i would love more content over it

after all the patchs they have done it has been a long time since i have seen a game breaking bug but by all means if there is one report it to them they normally take them into account

looking through my list, the most gamebreaking is probably large refineries deleting items, and recruitable frigates not giving options to recruit, while some unmarked ones do
though the bigger issues are just bad systems like frigate fuel, not bugs

this one is interesting, wall mounted lights, makes sense in most cases but where i have the terminal built currently its in the middle of a room
wish i could just build the damn thing on my ship
terminals are only against walls in structures and freighter, theyre center mounted in rooms built from walls

Being stationed around an extreme planet can do that too
Anyway on PC theres a great mod called Dream space
One of the things it does is a rough fix for that bug
However it does that by disabling filters in space altogether so no filtered planet shots
but you wont have a radioactive yellow space station 😄

Yea it's a known bug if you leave a vehicle while shooting
Been there since the start, actually in photo mode you will find yourself unable to get a shot like this in single-player
