Could be because they have turned from their default (landed) position, so it thinks the engines should now be upwards instead of backwards?

Yup. They're new in Next. There are so many, it's not worth documenting them all. But the neon green things are only for selling, they're not used in anything else. Often worth a ton of units.

They're gotten at ruins (dig for ancient history, or someting) and from frigate missions. When they first came out, some were worth 18 million credits, but they patched that back to low millions pretty quickly.

The higher class your frigates get, the more you make. They auto-upgrade from C class to S, eventually. I make 1-3 mill per misison, plus another couple mil from materials they gather.

You can own up to 30 frigates, but to run multiple missions, you need to build more frigate control rooms. I actually have 7 built.

except for the materials to build frigate fuel, they're basically set and forget. Run them once a day, and farm / trade / craft your way to riches in between.

I like reading the debriefs. Early on, I had one where the frigate captain invited a Vy'Keen trading party aboard. They had a 3 day feast. The Vy'keen trashed the interior of the frigate in drunken revelry, and I had to call it home. 😄

the hard way too, I had a freighter, and got another free one, which replaced my old one + all its content. But apparently you're only supposed to have 1 free freighter so I guess it was a bug or something
