it's probably better now they spawn when you attack the egg because before it was a bit of a panic to try and get the ball whilst they were first spawning and sometimes lost an egg or two. Now it would be easy to first spawn them and get them happy waiting around, then hit the balls

I think both before and after the change, the "egg timer" started when you first shoot the egg.
So you can't e.g. shoot the egg a bit to make them spawn, lure them away then come back to get the core as it'll have timed out already.

yeah, the most difficult part was making the foundation - it all started from this single perfectly aligned block
btw, i've placed base computer on landing pad : you could even place base computer inside building itself

nah, no issues so far and no problems with terrain regenerating despite recently i've made a large quest seeking a perfect planet and travelling ten thousands LY away from base for a day or two @main dove
i play singleplayer, though, and issue never affected singleplayer i think

ok that's interesting - I have a handful of mines/bases/farms scattered around - it's only two of them that suffer the spawning below ground issue, and that was when I had networking open and other people in my game. mmmm.... food for thought. It's darn annoying though - having to reload reload reload until it spawn my base and farm above ground.
