It's a lot to boil down, but I could clarify a bit here in shortas to what I meant by 'Custom Build' (as I've been developing this fan project since 2016).
An entire game overhaul, a multi-build hybrid of every released version of No Man's Sky (including a series of numerous, mysterious pre-release builds)... alongside over 15,000 unique, handcrafted based off of concepts; yet fully procedural biomes... creatively and carefully implemented into the game and also modernized for NEXT
(While also keeping all NEXT content in-tact).
Replicated trailer planets, off the record pre-release planets in leaked footages, planets only found in screenshots or hard to find articles, all IGN footage planets, the PS4 RC1 build (only accessible via bluray when deleting all updates) planets that I ported from the PS4 build that I decrypted, 2016 biomes, two alternate 2016 build contents , better worlds contents (with templars permission), Foundation content , Pathfinder content, my custom Pathfinder content, Atlas Rises cotent, and all NEXT content) and 15,000 other custom planets that are non-related to those things... that I creatively made (PRE-NEXT) being modernized and adapted for NEXT - alongside a lot of other content incoming.
Unpacked the source is currently 11GB in size. It's on the scale of NMS when it first released (back when it was 6gb) packed... iirc

When I began to work on the 'reboot' to my already existing fan project a month before NEXT released, I had set this standard and general rule for myself as a priority that I'm not willing to bend: Every planet, every moment in-game must look/feel like a concept art.
So, that will still be the general rule (and to keep vanilla content and stuff possible and as a thing) - But to make it even prettier than it already is... alongside creating a new game inside of an existing game - whereas it'll feel more like an addition to the game rather than a mod (while also being a multi-build hybrid), non-saturated, and mostly subtle... but at times not subtle at all.
Alongside a lot of new features and content and creative ideas being fleshed out and implemented as I continue to work on developing the newer build

But I'm not planning to call it 'Overhaul' this time... even though it essentially is an Overhaul (comprised of multiple overhauls) to every aspect of the game.

one of my older bases from a previous build was on the most beautiful planet ever. paradise planet with no fauna and very little flora. Lots of water and islands everywhere no mainland. Unfortunately very little resources but had 5 neighboring planets tho they were like a minute away. Each island was like this grassy little rock just the perfect size for a base and with a beautiful view of the ocean and other neighboring islands. I miss that planet 😭 . ill have to see if i saved the planet code but its probably too late cuz the updates replaced those planets.
