@kind swift not sure, it doesn't appear on the undo list for the terrain editor, and its one of the ways of making more permanent terrain changes when the terrain editor doesn't seem to save
you could fill it in manually and hope it saves

yeah kinda common, there are 21 ship models per system, 7 shuttles, 4 race specific, 3 fighters, 3 haulers, 3 explorers and 1 exotic, can be multiple of each quite commonly

When I release my biomes and overhaul it should be fine (performance wise too) especially with 4GB cards.
A few beta testers are running fine on 2GB cards
There are certain things (if made poorly, or simply not carefully) can be very gpu taxing

That's not theoretical as some would say, but it's actually factual. Let me clarify.
I believe that HG desired to take the game in a different direction, with a similar but new look... in some ways which they've accomplished. In between development decisions often naturally change.
But I have looked inside of these pre-release files. They are extremely complex, detailed, and mostly alien in comparison to the game's certain structure. Many of the things in there aren't utilized in the current build.
The game we have at this point is amazing, and I love HG and I love all that they have done, are doing, and will do.
I just know that the game engine they made is capable of so much more, and even with all that I have done (even stuff I haven't shown) it's not even cranked up 5% to what can be done.

In the infinite worlds trailer at 1:00 you will see planetary rotation. Other trailers you will see Crescent Worlds, Eclipses, lots of other things. It's beautiful. The game still is beautiful.
It's also possible that they are polishing things up to their expectation prior to officially implementing it ๐
We've seen certain mentioned features pre-release implemented like (procedural handling) (more varied ship classes) (A more painterly art style that came on 1.3)

They don't feel No man's sky like
I did so in a certain way like this...
The core overhaul mod has "Lore Only Ships" with the pre release sentinel drone ship, and gold setinel drones as an exception... that can enter stations or act as police AI(but all the wild ships are accessible in my base build menu starship swapper)
But if you want the wild ships to be able to fly by, enter stations, act as police AI, then you can simply drop the optional "zzExpanded AI Ship Models.pak" into your MODS folder.
I did this as an "early preperation"
Because I knew that some people might not want those "awesome ships" by Krem in there

@kind swift that glow effect put off from the jet trails is unavoidable and clips thru mesh just like any other effect in the game will..
I mostly wanted to eliminated it from my millennium falcon, but there is no way.. even if I remove all of the trail locators, the game still creates one at 0,0,0 in the mesh..
I know it is an engine fault but I was just wondering if it was fixable
ships need at least 1 trail minimum, if they don't have it, the game will give it to them. :\
Yeah the guys over at HG should look into this if they have spare time... Which probably never happens but hey
IDK how they'd fix it tho.. models have collisions to determine their edges and boundaries, but that's just a physics thing.. it doesn't govern lighting.. I kinda think HG would have an easier time figuring out how to block out water for base building components..
the most annoying thing about that engine glow tho is the fact it's dependent on angle.. you may see just a slice of the glow, or the full glow, depending on how you look at it.. and that just feels silly..

yes, every system has a 1/21 chance that the exotic type is squid, and from what I can see, its about 1 in 301 that a spawned ship will spawn as an exotic
though im not 100% sure they work that way or not, there is some weirdness with it
hard to get proper stats with probabilities that low though
Honestly I don't like knowing the exact stats of games, it makes it more predictable
