The only career path I've ever had any interest in, if you can call it a career, is being a writer.
Short of that, I've only had vague ideas and feelings about things. Computer hardware, for example - it's one of my main points of interest, and I build PCs as a hobby. I've always kinda wanted to learn how to create hardware, but that's a foggy pathway with lots of uncertainty. Being a writer has a solid, perfectly visible path for me. Lots of pathways leading off to other things, too.
Unfortunately, I'd have to go back to school and properly learn how the janky English language works before embarking on anything "professional", like seeking out a job as an editor. I abuse and misuse the hell out of grammar, and don't know lot of basic things a writer should know. I also seem to reuse a lot of basic words and phrases, such as "a lot", lol.

Right now we're rebuilding our back porch and balcony, which in part will finish off our upper sunroom which will be super fun. We just finished our parlour and will be starting on the upstairs bathroom then the house will be more or less done. After that we might finish the attic for a lounge and a storage room but we'll have to install 1 or 2 dormers to allow better ventilation

This house didn't have one. It originally had bay windows where we now have the porch.
We've had to bring in contractors to help us because it's a little too high up for our liking

We were going to put a roof on the porch, but... we kinda just dropped the project after the railing and floor was done.

We have a really bad foundation. I'm not entirely certain what the exact cause is, but I want to blame 100+ year old tree roots from back when this was a farmhouse for a huge orchard.
Yeah I can imagine. Ours was originally built in a stone foundation but was filled in with concrete sometime in the 1940s
As far as I'm aware, we still have the original foundation. What little remodelling has been done, has mostly been cosmetic. The last functional one was in the 1960s, when they redid all the wiring and breaker box.
