😨 so my new 3ds d-pad suddenly got stuck holding the up input. tried using a brush to clean around it in case somehow it was dust or something, no luck.
so i went disassembly mode, looked up a teardown to be safe, took my time, opened it up to the d-pad and...Nothing. Ookay, clean it up anyway, reassemble, aaannd now it doesn't want to turn on...? 😨
i've said screw it for now and have it on the charger in case somehow the battery drained in the time it took to do all that...

There's no surface damage to the d-pad circuitboard so far as i can tell either so I'm just at a loss now
Think I'm gonna pull it apart again and take a q-tip & rubbing alcohol to the d-pad board. There's nothing immediately visible on the contacts, but doesn't mean there isn't something on'em
The best result from all this is that I know I didn't break anything during disassembly...Chances are I just didn't get things reconnected firmly enough

When this happens, there is a build up under the silver button itself. You need to disasemble it down to the mother board, and then (extremly carefully) pry up the plastic covering.This covering is attatched to, though seperate from, the White backing/mask.If you carefully pry this up, you will see a black build up between the silver button, and the gold contacts on the Mainboard.Remove this through a mixture of rubbing alchol, and force, and reassemble.

Yup, that's what I'm gonna try again, but this time with rubbing alcohol. First few runs I just tried a simple brushing because I had issues getting it to even come back on to see if that made any difference

I'd say before you try to pry up the top panel of that, check the plastic buttons for buildup as well. Little bits can get stuck in there and cause problems like that. I'm assuming you checked already tho

Just finished an alcohol cleanup of the contacts despite lookin' clean as could be, and nothin' came up...So slapped back together and still seeing that issue...
I found a thread where someone mentioned some software to diagnose which buttons are firing to be sure you're going after the right ones, thinking I'll download that and run it to see if maybe it's something I'm not thinking of
Most challenging part of this is that:
- it's not a used unit, it's new from a few years ago.
- i've not heavily played on it, and what I have played hasn't made a ton of use of the d-pad
- it's never had anything spilled on it
- it's not been dropped
- it's been kept in a carrying case when not in use
So all the regular issues one might expect aren't fully in play, besides possible slight dust/dirt in just the wrong spot

You could probably get away with it as-is if you started doing shading and made it look like the character had its weight heavier on one foot, and add an angled slit to the dress to give it more of an offset.

I'm guessing they have a problem in the health care industry there of people selling fakes, so by making this a controlled substance they eliminate the black market on drugs that effect your sleep in a country that is notorious for workaholics.
Granted, it won't eliminate the market, but it will create stiff penalties and make it easier for consumers to identify what is legitimate and what is black market
