I know people who are still to this day talking about creating massive bases on planets when it's been known for months from the developers own mouth that base building is not a feature supported by the game. I doubt there's even inventory management which is a corner stone of base building. Sure you could blow up a hole and find a cave and call that your "base" but you can't create a defendable position in which to hide out as that cave can't be blocked up and secured by non-cheating methods.

Elite Dangerous will have a similar issue, while I have Horizons and the upcoming content releases to "look forward to", if they haven't turned the game around by the end of this season there's just no way I'll be forking out for season 3
