#Internal tool/status narration leaking into Telegram chat

I’m using OpenClaw via Telegram DM. When the assistant performs backend actions like editing files / reading memory / checking weather, some internal “working” narration appears in the Telegram chat UI

Expected: internal tool progress/narration should stay hidden unless explicitly user-facing.

Actual: backend/tool commentary is sometimes delivered as visible Telegram messages.

Setup:
OpenClaw 2026.4.24
Channel: Telegram direct chat
Model: openai-codex/gpt-5.5 / previously gpt-5.4
Runtime: OpenClaw Pi Default

Happy to provide screenshots/log snippets if helpful.

Yep. this is new. I wasn't seeing it before. In my case it does delete the narration, but you get to see it temporarily.

Yeah same so it doesn’t stay in the chat window and disappears eventually

I actually resolved this in the end when I updated it to GPT 5.5 and asked it to resolve the issue. It actually managed to do it. So that's done!

Nice, glad it’s sorted 🎉

If this fixed it, please right-click the solution message → Apps → ✅ Mark Solution so Answer Overflow indexes it for future users.

If it comes back, screenshots/log snippets would be perfect for a GitHub issue.
