That usually means the session hit an internal error, not that you did something wrong.
First, try /new. If it keeps happening, please paste these:
openclaw --version
openclaw status --all
openclaw gateway status
openclaw doctor
If you can, also grab the relevant part of:
openclaw logs --follow

If /new fixes it once but it comes back again, I’m suspicious of a stuck session or gateway issue.
@glossy ridge /new doesn t work
