#Is anyone using ChatGPT business instead

@rapid thicket Because it is not actually the same deal once you normalize for billing model, seat minimum, and usage model. Plus is an individual plan at $20/month. Business is a team workspace plan that requires at least 2 standard seats; its $20/user/month price is only on annual billing, while monthly billing is $25/user/month in most countries. So the apparent “same price” comparison is usually Plus: $20 for 1 person versus Business: $40 minimum on annual, or $50 minimum on monthly. ([OpenAI Help Center][1])
The second catch is the GPT-5.4 Pro wording. OpenAI’s pricing page says Pro includes GPT-5.4 Pro directly, while Business says it has “access to GPT-5.4 Pro” and the flexibility to add credits as needed. On the feature matrix, Pro is marked “Yes” for GPT-5.4 Pro, but Business is marked “Flexible”, which implies it is not the same unlimited/flat-included entitlement as the Pro subscription. ([OpenAI][2])
Business is priced the way it is because OpenAI is packaging it as a workspace product, not a personal power-user tier: shared workspace, admin controls, SAML SSO, MFA, company knowledge, centralized billing, privacy defaults for business data, and optional usage-based expansion via credits. That lets them keep the base seat price relatively low while monetizing heavier usage separately. ([OpenAI][2])
Also, this got more confusing very recently: OpenAI says it reduced ChatGPT Business seat pricing by $5/month as of April 2, 2026. So if you remembered the older Team/Business pricing, the new numbers can look unexpectedly favorable. ([OpenAI Help Center][3])
