Nice — that’s the “prereqs” part done. The next step depends on how you want to run OpenClaw:

1) Do you want the Gateway running on the host, or inside Docker?

• Host (recommended to start): easiest path; you can still use Docker later for tool sandboxing.
• Docker (containerized gateway): totally supported, just slightly more moving parts (especially if Ollama runs on the host).

Tell me which one you’re aiming for, and what “not working” looks like (can’t open dashboard? unauthorized? no replies?).

2) Quick diagnosis (paste output)

Run these and paste the output:

openclaw --version
openclaw status --all
openclaw models status

3) If your goal is “use Ollama as the model”

On the machine running the Gateway:

curl http://127.0.0.1:11434/api/tags

Then “enable” Ollama for OpenClaw (any value works):

export OLLAMA_API_KEY="ollama-local"
openclaw models list
