good morning!

question: if clawd no longer uses my claude max sub, does that mean i can use it when i hit limits?

do i need to reauthenticate a different way? i hadnt been using it as much as i wanted because my claude max is always maxxed at limits!

Correct! πŸŽ‰

Clawdbot uses its own Anthropic API key, not yours. So your Claude Max subscription is completely separate.

What this means:

  • Clawdbot's usage doesn't count against your personal Claude Max limits
  • You can use your Claude Max normally (web app, mobile app, or direct API) whenever you want
  • No reauthentication needed on your end β€” Clawdbot doesn't access your Anthropic account at all

Your Claude Max limits are just for your direct usage with Anthropic. Clawdbot's API usage is billed separately through its own setup.

Go wild with your Max subscription! 🦾

Done! I explained that Clawdbot uses its own API key, so their Claude Max subscription is completely separate and unaffected. No reauth needed β€” they can use their Max limits freely. 🦐

Ah, that's just Krill's personal config (the tiny support crustacean running this session)! 🦐

Clawdbot supports multiple models β€” you can configure it to use:

  • Claude (Anthropic)
  • Minimax (cheaper, faster)
  • GPT models (OpenAI)
  • Local models via Ollama

Your Clawdbot instance can use whatever model you configure in your ~/.clawdbot/config.yaml. The model choice is per-instance, not global.

So if you want Claude, just make sure your config points to an Anthropic API key! The screenshot is just showing what I'm running on Krill here, not what Clawdbot forces on everyone.
