I went with WhatsApp, bought a new phone number and set it up on my backup phone

I ran it on a linux server so haven't try iMessage yet

the caveat was WhatsApp only allows single web app login
so essentially all the chats to the bot will share the same soul and context

sessions (conversations) are separate, but the workspace (files/memory/..) is shared

oh I see what you mean. you are thinking about like having multiple WhatsApp in the same host right

i was thinking using a single WhatsApp number bot account
but it behaves differently based on context, group chats vs individual DMs (currently the souls, skills etc. are shared globally)
each context gets its own souls, memories, and skills. so my DM has one setup, my partner’s DM has another, and group chats can have their own personality + capabilities too

oh I see what you mean. yeah that would be very helpful. the. current state feels like an unnecessary coupling. Setting up new WhatsApp accounts is troublesome so might multiplex it a bit
