You could add depth to the cleaning mechanics with some additional types of soiling/cleaning for circuit boards:
- Oxidisation (red/brown): clean with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and a toothbrush or cotton tip
- Battery leak (blue): clean with vinegar first (to neutralise the battery alkaline, which makes a satisfying fizz) then rinse with IPA
- Scorching (black): clean with IPA (to confirm which parts are actually damaged underneath, if we get into board repair, otherwise to clean it off adjacent parts)
