Putting this guide cuz I need help reviewing this thingith
If you are a newbie feeling lost and dunno what to do and stumbled upon this guide: hello there friend!
over here I will be explaining some early game content and mechanics and give some tips.
Let's start with something every player has:
The content book
- You get shown the content book when you complete "the king's recruit" tutorial quest.
- It shows you what you can currently do and complete.
- For non-quests and miniquests , you need to be at least 5 lvls below the recommended lvl in order to access it and complete the content.
- There's many icons here as you can see. I will explain what each icon means.
Major quests and normal quests
- These are the main things you should focus on when you are on your 1st playthrough. Try completing all of them if possible.
- Dark green ones (1st icon) indicate major quests which usually contain important lore or unlock VERY important features , Always prioritize completing them.
- While light green ones (2nd icon) indicate normal minor quests. All of them are worth doing. Some may even give powerful gear or some extra money.
- If a content is not available yet , it will be whited out (3rd icon for locked minor quest and 4th icon for locked major quest).
- Some quests have pre-requisite quests that need to be completed before you are able to start the quest.
Caves
- Across Wynn you may see caves that contain some mobs with them. Caves are your main source of gear and also gives good amounts of XP.
- You will find locked 3/4* chests while exploring the cave. Usually it appears at the end of the cave.
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1362684281935364238/1429523535444836372/Minecraft__1.21.4_-_Multiplayer_3rd-party_Server_20_10_2025_1_35_21_am.png?ex=68f6730a&is=68f5218a&hm=1c9878f7c3876f38907dabd1c308cdfb4ae16af9a8f085b1443a86c7b528fcd5&=&format=webp&quality=lossless&width=575&height=528
- Complete the objective listed on the locked chest to unlock and loot it.
- After opening all the tier 3* and/or 4* chests in a cave , it will spawn a chest if you are at most 5 lvls below the recommended cave lvl. It usually gives XP only. But some caves give an extra item. Claiming the chest marks that cave as completed.
- tip: at early lvls if you see a blue boxed lvl 0-4 and a lvl 4-8 ring , take then. they can give some good rings that can be sold for an early money or stat boost.
Dungeons
- Usually they have a quest relating to the dungeon. You need a specific dungeon key and at most 5 levels below its recommended lvl to enter. keys can be obtained from key guardians , world events and the trade market (which i will explain later).
- Inside the dungeon you will find alot of mobs and some parkour sections and at the end a boss chamber.
- Defeat the boss to gain a token which can be used to buy some powerful gear at dungeon merchants at the dungeon.
World discoveries , territorial discoveries and secret discoveries
- Basically locations all across wynncraft. As for secret discoveries they are hidden spots that give some good XP that contains lore (you can find locations of secret discoveries on the official wynncraft wiki).
World events
- World events are challenges all across wynncraft. You are introduced to them in the major quest "mushroom man". They look like this:
- The countdown indicates when the event starts. Standing in the zone starts the event. If you are in a party and they are in the world event zone , they will join the event with you.
- Keep in mind world events SCALE to the highest lvl player in party and number of players.
- To win a world event , at least 1 player must survive when all targets are defeated.
- During the world event , there will be some trackers on your scoreboard.
- Time limit: indicates how long more you have to clear the world event before it fails.
- Waves remaining: indicates how many mob waves remain.
- Targets remaining: indicates how many more minibosses you have to defeat to clear the world event. Miniboss you have to defeat are indicated by a glowing outline.
- Clearing the world event gives you massive amounts of loot , and sometimes exclusive world event gear that are usually super powerful.
- Tip: the quest "mushroom man" may bug out after clearing the world event and not progress. when a quest bugs out: always try /class first , then switch worlds via /lobby or /hub , if all else fails: press ALT F4 and try to restart Minecraft.
- When filtering world events in content book there will be different icons:
- Blue icon: uncleared world event that is starting soon.
- Green icon: cleared world event that's starting soon.
- Grey icon: uncleared world event that is not starting soon.
- Green checkmark: cleared world event that is not starting soon.
Boss altars
- Boss altars are shrines across Wynn that have a powerful boss in them (the 1st one unlocks at lvl 20).
- To start a boss altar , you need to offer a specific amount of an ingredient to the altar and right click it (the mobs that drops the ingredient usually can be found near the altar , but you can check the official wynncraft wiki to see what it needs).
- The wynncraft wiki is here https://wynncraft.wiki.gg/
- DO NOT USE FANDOM WIKI! It is outdated and full of misinformation.
- For example in this case it requires 8 leather to activate the boss altar.
- After offering , you will be transported abit later if you stand close to the boss altar. defeat the boss and get some exclusive gear and exclusive ingredients.
Raids
- This is a midgame to endgame team content. You unlock the 1st one after completing a major quest at lvl 54.
- I will not be explaining raids here , but once you are level 54 , you can check out the basics of raiding guide here.
Lootruns
- A late game content (lvl 87+) solo content for money making.
- I wont be explaining lootruns here.
That was alot to take in isnt it? lets go to the next important feature:
The bank
- In almost every minor town and major city there will always be a bank.
- Right click the black chest will allow you to store items in them.
- In the bank there will be 2 kinds of storage types. Click the button to switch between storage types.
- Character storage:
- This bank is ONLY for your current class/character. you can buy up to 2 pages (no rank) or up to 12 depending on your rank.
- Account storage:
- This bank is for ALL CLASSES and your account. You can store anything in it and you can take out the items from a different class when needed. You can buy up to 21 pages.
- Note: buying more pages requires a higher combat level AND more emeralds.
Once you reach level 2 , you may have notice that you have gained something called
Skill points
- Open your compass to check it.
- You gain 2 skill points for every lvl up until lvl 101 which you can get a maximum of 200.
- Left click on 1 of the 5 stats to assign a skill point into that stat. Shift right click to assign 5 at once.
- Each stat buffs that corresponding elemental damage and gives an extra effect:
- Strength: buffs ALL damages and buffs earth damage more
- Dexterity: buffs thunder damage and gives you a chance to deal critical damage which deals double damage at base
- Intelligence: buffs water damage and reduces spell costs by a percentage and increases your maximum mana
- Defense: buffs fire damage and reduces damage taken by a percentage
- Agility: buffs air damage and gives you a chance to dodge an attack , making you take 90% less damage from that attack.
- In the earlygame usually assigning into anything works.
- However i do NOT recommend assigning your skill points into agility. The dodge chance at early lvls is too low and it is very unreliable.
- To remove and reassign skill points , enter a safe zone (towns and cities) and right click to remove a skill point and shift right click to remove 5 at once.
- Some pieces of gear also have a skill point requirement: you need to have a specific amount of skill points assigned to use it.
- Some NON CRAFTED gear also gives extra skillpoints when worn, which can help allow you to wear more gear with higher sp requirements.
- Here is an example: to wear this pair of boots shown above , I will need to have 60 strength and 70 defense.
- While wearing this boots , i will also gain +20 sp into strength and +25 sp into defense.
Item identifications and rerolling
- You may have noticed some stats on those boots with percentages. (showing toll percentages is NOT a vanilla feature. It is from wynntils mod)
- When identifying an item , it will roll its ID's , which has a set range.
- Lets look back at the pair of boots above. on the health roll it can roll from +525 to +2275.
- When identifying an item , the rolls will be randomised. If the rolls are way too garbage: provided it isnt enough , you may reroll the item to pray for better stat rolls.
- Do keep in mind subseqent rerolls get 5x MORE expensive!
- Say for example if i identify a helmet that costs 10 emeralds to identify. rerolling will cost 50 emeralds and the next reroll will cost 250.
- Tip: you can download wynntils mod to see item stat rolls and overall roll.
- On the topic of items , depending on your playstyle and weapon , different kinds of gear will be better for you.
- For example: if i am using a thunder damage wand that loves to spellspam , i would try to find gear that buffs my spell damages , thunder damages or mana regen.
- The wiki page here lists what each identification does. https://wynncraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Identifications
- Useful identifications and what they are good in. If it isn't mentioned , assume it isn't too useful and should be usually ignored.
- Damage and elemental dmg raw and %: always amazing to have. Keep in mind (specific element) damages only work if your attacks/spells inflict that elemental damage type
- Main atk dmg raw and %: only good for melee builds
- Spell dmg raw and %: only good for spell builds.
- Attack speed: positive atk speed buffs main atk dps and charges powder specials faster while negative atk speed makes lifesteal and manasteal more effective.
- Health: always nice to have , especially in tanky builds.
- Health regen (HPR) raw and %: not needed but prefered to be in positives. negative is preferred on some lightbender builds.
- Lifesteal: good if you main attack frequently. the lower your attack speed the more effective it is (keep in mind that lifesteal ONLY PROCS FROM MAIN ATTACKS).
- Mana regen: amazing for spell builds , always nice to have to spam more movement spells.
- Mana steal: good for some spell builds. the lower your attack speed the more effective it is (keep in mind that mana steak ONLY PROCS FROM MAIN ATTACKS).
- Max mana: allows to use more spells at the start of any fight. generally useful but great for spell builds.
- Poison: usually destroys basic enemies but terrible against bosses. ok to have if you main attack sometimes but becomes more useless as you progress.
- Walk speed: helps to dodge attacks and for traversal. always amazing to have
- Jump height. slightly helps with traversal and dodging ground-based attacks. having some is ok but too high makes you slower.
- Spell cost raw and %: makes spells cheaper. always great to have but keep in mind % is usually always worse.
- XP bonus: increases XP gain from mob kills and dungeons (does NOT affect XP gain from quests). Always nice to have.
- Loot bonus: increases amount of loot you can get from caves and mob drops. Always nice to have.
Teleport scrolls
- If you ever want to teleport to a specific town/city , you can use teleport scrolls. just right click it , stand still and after 5 seconds of not moving you will be teleported.
- Scrolls have 3 charges. using a scroll consumes 1 charge. 1 charge replenishes every 10 minutes.
- The scroll charges and cooldown is shared across ALL CLASSES.
- You can purchase teleport scrolls from scroll merchants or the trade market.
- Tip: ever wanted to teleport to the closest visited town/city without using a scroll charge? use /kill! It teleports you to the nearest town/city that has been visited before. Dont worry you do NOT lose any items.
- This command is also super useful if you are somehow stuck in blocks and cant get out.
Fast travel
- Some quests may mention it unlocks fast travel. Fast travels are essentially teleporters that bring you from 1 location to another. Very convenient!
Archetypes
- Once you are level 8: you may have notice the ability tree starting to branch out into 2 different paths with the nodes mentioning archetypes below.
- What are archetypes you ask? archetypes are basically 3 subclasses in each class , each archetype has different types of playstyles with different strengths and weaknesses.
- Here is what each archetype for each class does. Go pick whatever that seems/sounds the coolest or the most fun :3
- Psa: the ratings only account for early and midgame. NOT endgame

Don't worry about not liking an archetype. You can freely reset the ability tree whenever you like using 3 ability shards after completing a major quest at lvl 25.
- To obtain ability shards , you can obtain them from daily and weekly objectives , raids and the trade market for super cheap.
I hope you have been doing your quests. Because the major quest "mushroom man" will direct you to your 1st major city:
WELCOME TO DETLAS!
A large trading hub and a place of communication!
- hm? wdym it looks empty and lonely? try /toggle ghosts all. It shows players in other worlds.
- You can even chat with them across worlds in global chat if they have ghosts enabled too!
- If it is too laggy for you or you want some peace and quiet , you can /toggle ghosts none to hide players in other worlds.
- Global chat is proximity based. if a player is too far you might not see their chats.
- Speaking of worlds , to switch servers worlds and regions , you can do /hub or /lobby to enter the server lobby.
The trade market
- On the left side of the bank in Detlas , you may find something called the trade market. You can find trade markets in major cities.
- You can purchase items and sell things to over players in here.
- Lets go over with how to buy an item. Starting with something that will be used EVEN AT ENDGAME.
- First left click the search button , then type in chat what you want to buy and press enter.
- For now , try searching for an "emerald pouch"
- Lets find a higher tier one. To do so , sort results to "most expensive" (sort by least expensive for anything else you want to buy).
- Find the cheapest one that is tier 7 (VII) , and if you have enough money , click the checkmark button to purchase it.
- The trade market and community has some currency denominations for higher values of emeralds:
- 1 e: 1 singular emerald
- 1 eb: 1 block of emerald (64 e)
- 1 le: 1 liquid emerald (64 eb or 4096 e)
- 1 stx: a single stack of liquid emeralds (64 le or 262144 e)
- If you somehow dont have enough money , you should consider completing quests and caves. It will give you enough money to afford one.
- Once that is done , click "withdraw item" to claim the purchased item.
- Congrats! Now you have 1 of the MOST USEFUL items in the game! You will almost NEVER worry about emerald storage issues ever again!
- Tip: dont want to accidentally lose your item from blacksmithing or dropping? Use the command /itemlock while holding the item you want to lock to prevent dropping or blacksmithing the item! Dont worry you can undo it by using the command again.
A new players guide to the basics of wynncraft.
Emerald pouch
- These are little bags where you can store your emeralds in it in a neat little spot.
- Emerald pouches are found in caves and world events.
- You CANT upgrade emerald pouches directly. The only way to get a better emerald pouch is by finding a better one , or buy one in the trade market (which i just told ya to buy a tier 7 one :p).
- Higher tier pouches like the tier 7 pouch also have a feature which automatically converts stored emeralds into emerald blocks or liquid emeralds , very convenient.
Professions
- You might have notice some crafting stations , tool merchants and places to gather
- These are called professions: They are NOT recommended to do. They are completely optional and take VERY long to level.
- If you ever do plan to level professions , save them for endgame at lvl 105 as you will have access to the best gathering gear and all the necessary areas to gather at to make the process faster.
Powders
- Powders are items you can apply to your gear to add a tiny bonus in stats. You can do stuff with powders at powder masters in most towns and major cities.
- There is 3 things you can do at the powder master:
- Infusing powders
- Infuses your gear with powders if it has any powder slots. you can check your weapon to see if it has any powder slots by checking its item text.
- Heres an example: the weapon here "petulance" has 3 powder slots.
- Depending on the powder , it adds some base elemental damage of its type AND converts some neutal damage on the weapon if it has any to the elemental type of the powder.
- For example. This weapon has 100 base neutral damage , and tier 1 earth powder adds +3 earth damage and converts 17% of my neutral damage on my weapon to earth damage. Applying it on my weapon will turn 17 neutral into earth damage.
- Removing powders
- If you ever want to remove powders on a piece of gear , click the 2nd button on the left side , place the gear you want to remove the powders from and bam!
- Remember: you do NOT get back any powders from removing powders on gear.
- Upgrading powders
- If you have 4 of the same lvl and type of power , you can combine them into 1 higher lvl powder. The maximum powder lvl is 6.
- There is abit more about powders , but that will be abit too complicated to explain and you usually have access to them when you unlock raids at level 54. But you can check out what powder specials do in the raid guide.

Ingame Modifications / Mods
- Not to be confused by ingame/discord moderators.
- While wynncraft can be played without any mods , having mods can enhance your wynncraft experience.
- I highly recommend using fabric/modrinth for using mods.
- Mods can add things like QOL , voice acting , cosmetic visuals and more!
- Here are some mods i can suggest that can enhance your game experience:
- Performance mods like Sodium and Lithium: Makes the game run ALOT smoother!
- Wynntils: adds MANY QOL features like item rolls , minimap and more!
- Voices of wynn: adds voice acting to ALMOST EVERY QUEST. Makes the quest experience much more enjoyable!
- Wynncraft spell caster: allows you to set up a keybind to use a single spell. Not required but is nice for some.
NOT ALL MODS ARE ALLOWED HOWEVER!
- Some mods are disallowed on the server. And these shoud NEVER BE USED. Unless you want an ASMR: Greg slaps you to oblivion for eternity

Disallowed mods:
- Hacked clients
- Schematica (litematica is fine however)
- Mods that allow you to walk when chest GUI is opened like
- Blindness removal
- Any mod that notifies or show a loot beam on item drops
- Autoscreening chests
- Mini-map displaying caves and off-map locations (wynntils minimap is fine since it doesnt display those)
- Entity radar , XRAY and cavefinders
- Automatic potion drinkers and inventory sorters
- Most macros and bots that gather information (the only macro that is allowed is single spell keybind macros as those are allowed. Like from wynntils or spellcaster mod)
- Revealing barrier blocks
- Tip: do remember to read the game and forum rules https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/game-forum-rules.111874/#post-3525359 !
- If you are unsure about anything , you may ask a moderator in the wynncraft discord or #❓questions channel.
Horses
- Once you have completed the quest "stable story" , you will be given a horse as a quest reward.
- To summon a horse , simply right click the saddle item. It summons a horse that you can ride on for traversal.
- To level up a horse , simply keep using it and it will keep leveling up which increases its maximum jump height and speed
- Though it is worth mentioning... horses kinda suck. They are outclassed by movement spells instantly. NEVER BUY HIGHER TIER ONES! NOT worth the cost and still gets outclassed by movement spells.
The VSS. Seaskipper
- The VSS Seaskipper (or seaskipper for short) is a transport service that allows you to traverse across the seas.
- To start your traversal , right click on this tiny signboard to open up the menu to see where you can go.
- Choose a destination , and if you have enough emeralds , you will begin to set sail towards your chosen location!
- During the ride , the seaskipper will have some talks with you. Sometimes , they may give random items and trinkets. How kind!

The wynncraft journey will be a possibly long one , but i hope this guide will help you understand most of its basic mechanics.
Good luck on your wynncraft journey friend! Have fun!
