To be exact, they completely tore out nbt tags and replaced them with a new system called "components"
That's why I mentioned modding and datapack devs in my original coment.

instead of changing a line or two of code, any form of modding, including resource and datapacks, will basically have to be rewritten entirely.

Wynn does technically run on a much older version

I am still a little concerned about breaking, but all else fails, Wynn simply won't be compatable with new versions
