whould be cool iff whe can make from scrap the airport just like Train fever 1&2
hangar for buying plains landing/take-off strips and taxi ways all the parts that are in trhe Airport models in OpenTTD and whe can place the on the fly and not just a compleet airport maybe the whe can even have less congestion since when its bizzy at a airport you got like 10 planes flying in circles around it

so like 1 strip for cargo planes and perhaps 2 strips for passenger/mail since those are in 1 plane
One problem i remember reading about from the last custom airport project was that it was too easy to create an airport that deadlocks
You can see it happening with a fully congested intercontinental airport - the throughput drops drastically due to airplanes having to wait for each other
I feel the past attempts to find a way to automatically devise deadlock-free state machines a bit too heavy to include in the vanilla game.
Ideally, we should expose a simple and well-defined interface (like just let the NewGRF to supply a state machine), and people should experiment their automagic algorithms outside the core game code.

just like dead-locks for trains aren't a problem because railroads are modular

There have been many custom releases for Custom Airports. But none of them every properly work or they just have major issues.
Where are we with Custom Airport or a update to the old Airport system?
You can build with the north korean airport new grf nice customized airports i guess. But there is still room for improvement, you are right.
