Forum/channel for OpenTTD Ideas and Suggestions

We know everybody loves this game, and everybody has their own specific dream features that they think should totally be in the game. But now there's not really a specific place for these posts on this discord. I think adding a dedicated channel for these kinds of posts would be nice.

I think it has multiple benefits;

• It provides a designated place for these kinds of posts, freeing up other channels
• it would allow for a space where we could manage expectations of these ideas, i.e. stickies with message that all of openttd dev is voluntary, and nobody has any obligation to do anything, and that some ideas will never be possible
• I think there's some value lost in these random conversations everywhere where someone suggests a wild idea, and then get's shut down, and then the idea being lost to time. If we provide a designated place where people can do some 'blue-skying', maybe those ideas can lead to other ideas that might be more feasible.
• I think there's some value in knowing what people would want from this game if there would be no limits. Maybe if this idea is implemented as a forum style discord-channel, we could implement a voting system based on emoji's to get some insight in what are highly wanted features.

I guess we should use GitHub issues/discussions for that, because any discussion here with any weight in it will be moved there anyway

But i think it should be specifically a place where we would allow 'unserious' suggestions and ideas

I think creating a github account and opening an issue or disscussion is a much higher barrier than a (forum) post

That is true. In that case if this idea gets approved, such place could be a first-order filter for ideas

That's basically what the development channels and general is for

yeah I know, that's why I think a dedicated place would be a good idea. If it was one of the channels that is visible by default, we could probably 'catch' a lot of these posts

The only problem I see with my suggestion is that there is already a subforum for this on tt-forums, and I don't know if it's desirable to fragment the community like that. Although I think especially nowadays most gamers already have a discord account, so the barrier to posting is much lower
