#building a map and then playing on it

I tried to add some difficulty to the map by giving it some geographical quirks

#

Trollbridge, the easternmost city, has two bridges, however it is surrounded by mountains and the ocean so the only way out for a train is to either go over the mountain, go through the mountain (very expensive) or go around it

#

The southernmost town, Herowin, is on a peninsula with a very narrow connection with the rest of the land. They will probably have to build a bunch of bridges or rely on ships

#

There are a collection of 4 cities to the west. Paradise City and Unsettlement are on an island and a peninsula respectively, so transport will be difficult. There is a very narrow valley between Dogville and Deville, which trains would have to be concentrated in. There is also a mountain between the main continent and the south island, so if I wanted trains to go through that I may have to do some land reclamation or have the trains climb slowly to the top

#

Near the center the twin cities of Heisenburg and Healiopolis are on a plain, next to a lake. It should be relatively easy to connect them to the rail system, and they've already build themselves a road connecting each other which is useful for buses and mail trucks for early game income. Paradise City and Unsettlement are similarly linked

#

And finally to the north, Witt's End. I don't think I will go here until at least when I get better diesel engines, or maybe planes?

I've tried to scatter the industries around, but they're pretty concentrated towards the left side of the map. Hopefully I will get enough money to build more industries to the right.
