Since we have two hands, why not be able to pick up two items and carry them? I play a lot of stationeers and that's a thing in that game. It could open up some cool mechanics where you need to have two items and use them together to do things.

I don't think a true inventory is necessary. My point is, we have two hands. We should be able to use them both to pick up two separate items.
