Not sure about that take James...
It'd squeeze in 2 weekends, at the cost of 2 hours of practice for every single race weekend
That's a lot of data, not to mention the possibility of the only FP session being cancelled due to weather or a severe crash, for example
It'd result in randomness? Maybe, but it would also result in a lot of teams opting to use Qualifying as a short free practice, either using both drivers or the second driver as a benchmark
It's happened before as far as I know with the current format, rarely, but would become prevalent in a 1 FP session format
How would it fit in sprint races as well? Three F1 sessions in a single day? What about the feeder series?
