Of course politics will always unfortunately be a factor, but if the f2 champion cannot beat whats already on the grid, or prospects from other places in motorsports, then they shouldn’t be on it

Now that we’ve witnessed the devries saga I think everybody can safely say that him being on the grid was a mistake

If it was a rule it'd mean a driver may get booted from f1 undeservingly, in order to allow a seat for the new driver. Which would be completely unfair
