for context, Prost had brake issues and a misfire, Senna had suspension damage but was catching Prost, but Bellof had no damage and was catching Senna at a faster rate than he was catching Prost
This could play out into two scenarios. Prost would nurse the car home even with a misfire and brake trouble while Senna retires from the race due to suspension problems, since he stated that the car wouldn’t hold on until the end of the race
Or…
Prost loses the lead to Bellof or possibly retires from the race if his brake and misfire issues worsen. But even if Bellof crossed the line in first, he’d still be disqualified due to an underweight car. So with all three drivers out of the picture, the real winner would be Rene Arnoux
