what a dumb @ for a track
Welcome to America
does that mean no one has ever finished it tho
No
The field gets the green flag
This is from the race i went to
I didnt record it but yeah this is when i went
ok so
why are they saying its too tough to tame when people have finished it and won it
š¤
it hard because the high lane is the fastest but its a bumpy fucker and the corners arent the same
so it often catches out even experienced drivers
there's a term for this, the "darlington stripe"
which is when someone touches the wall here nad takes the paint off
Yeah
āVitalā new LMDh prototype rules to be revealed in two weeks
Speaking to Motorsport Network in the latest of our exclusive #thinkingforward interviews with the leaders in world motorsport, Fillon declared: āI think we will be able to announce the frame of the regulations in two weeks.ā
Details of the LMDh rules, based on the principles of IMSAās LMP2-based DPi category, had been promised for the week of the āSuper Sebringā IMSA/WEC ...Keep reading
Remembering Michele Alboreto: F1 ace, Le Mans winner and good man
Michele Alboreto was not someone who became interested in racing only once he was involved. He was like you or I ā a pure fan ā long before he became a driver, and each year heād make the 45min journey from home in Milan to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix. In 1970, he was left tearful on witnessing Jochen Rindtās fatal accident in practice, then felt the exhilaration 24 hours later as ...Keep reading

Personally, I feel like Indianapolis, Charlotte, or Daytona would be fantastic choices when it comes time for the US to host the FIA Motorsport Games
Watkins Glen
The Glen is in the middle of nowhere though
Indianapolis, Charlotte, or Daytona are likelier for that reason
yikes
Sponsorship money after this is likely to dry up and have some pretty big impacts across a lot of motorsports
The impact of the Great Recession hit a lot of racing pretty hard and this is likely to be worse than that
didnt mercedes also leave like one or two years ago
The question is how will the dtm continue with only bmw
wdym only bmw
i dont follow or know DTM
how does it work
is BMW the only supplier?
No
Well now it is
In 2019 Aston Martin were there until the end of the year
The year before mercedes pulles out
Audi and BMW were the two makes for this year
But Audis cancelling theirs now too
DTM has to get some new manufacturers
Id like McLaren ngl
or they could switch to other regs (tcr/gt4/gt3)
which i think is the most likely scenario if dtm comes back

Is it like common for Britain to just come up with random motorsports
like I thought lawnmower endurance was unique
so does American Modified racing, I donāt even think Nascar fans even knew of that
This absolutely will be the end of the DTM.
They did want to introduce a new series called "DTM trophy* using GT4 cars, IIRC they already had 25 entries, if they want to go a very simple way they could just rename that to DTM. While GT4 is a pretty competitive class I'm not sure how that would work on the long term as with the ADAC GT4 Germany there already is a pretty big GT4 series here that already drives on a bunch of tracks that DTM also drives on.
GT3 and TCR have the same "problem", there already are so many series in and around Germany with those cars that I'm not sure there's a real "market" for another in the same area without just taking away teams from established series like GT Masters or VLN
It almost died once before, give it a while and they can revive it again too
If they don't end up using GT or TCR anyway this might be a great opportunity to take a break and think about a way to turn this concept into reality https://www.electrive.com/2019/11/07/dtm-presents-electric-racing-concept/
Maybe it would be possible to use a standard chassis and certain standard electrical parts while allowing manufacturers to develop their own e-motors, choose between hydrogen and batteries, and put a silhouette around it; similarly to how the current regs are with ICEs. That way it may be possible to keep costs relatively low while making sure it's interesting for manufacturers (who maybe could use their knowledge and some parts of their FE technology if the rules allow it).
I just can't see how they could establish a completely new Class 1-like category with "classic" ICEs
Thats like Formula E but not single-seater
Exactly
There's no major electric racing series for two-seaters is there? This might be the opportunity for it
is there rally except they use electric cars
I don't think so; not on a large scale at least
Well, WRX wants to go electric in some years and there's this "extreme e"-series planned but I'd count that as another different category of motorsports
There was an electric entry to the Dakar rally a few years ago, I think
if you missed it here is Audi's statement https://www.audi-mediacenter.com/en/press-releases/audi-realigns-its-commitment-in-motorsport-12764/download
in pdf form, how modern
My guess is that dtm will rush their super gt links to get more cars on the grid
yes

But does any of the Japanese teams really have interest to drive a full season of DTM
Not as full factory teams but maybe if they enter agreements with customers
Or they could just combine the two series and make it a cross continent thing
SuperGT merger with DTM won't happen in this already fragile economy
New September date could make Le Mans "very fast"
The 88th running of the French classic has been moved from its original June slot to September 19-20 due to the coronavirus pandemic, and ACO President Pierre Fillon is willing to push back the event further until October or November if the situation so demands.
In either case, ambient and track temperatures would be significantly lower than in June, while a larger chunk of the race would take ...Keep reading
In light of reading this
It seems that DTM/ITR learnt of Audi's departure the same time we did
With their press release
And that they didn't privately inform them of their decision beforehand
Okay, reading Audi's press release. It seem's they did message ITR within hours before their public announcement
I mean it wasn't entirely suprising that they decided to leave, though it was quicker than expected
I thought it would probably happen but I didn't think it would actually happen

wot
why the fuck does everything have to be about sex and gender and what not nowadays
because it's still not compltely socially acceptable to be gay / bi / etc which is sad, by many corporations making stuff like this they normalize it
its about representation as well
She isn't even driving in formula E
Motorsport has mainly been a manly sport where women are frown against and whatnot so i don't see an issue with this video
i just feel like people are making too big of a deal out of it
like you?
thats a pretty boomer thing to say niek...
why does that matter to you
oh
lol
lmao
if u watched the video you would've seen her driving the FE cars in the esport races
and fe is all about developing motorsports
ye
this is definitely apart of that
makes sense to share her story
there have been female drivers in the past
well if she's MtF she's a female
i guess i misunderstood
happens
its just about them presenting this openly LGBT driver to the world
and to the LGBT motorsport community
to show they can get somewhere, and that theyre welcome
yee
fair
thankfully we live in a society where nowadays it is a lot more acceptable to talk about it than in the past
Unfortunately a lot of the comments in that video are showing exactly why we need more representation in motorsport and sport in general.
tbh 95% are positive
unless they deleted the shit ones already
i found your comment tho
yeah, most of the bad comments are just spam by 1 guy
brady chuck wildin
f1 teams have no care about where you come from or who you are or your background in general i think
they just want fast drivers
its good that there's more inclusivity now for everyone doe
this is not about F1 though
lol
not to mention that the F1 teams' opinions aren't universal which in this case is unfortunate
but i don't think any racing team would single someone out because of who they are..?
that would kinda be dumb if they did doe
still not the point
then i'm dumb and idk what it is ig
me neither
not to mention that the point isn't even to overrepresent it
it's to say that they're there and it's 100% ok
and that there shouldn't be an issue with it
Me too
bigots be bigots?
the problem with those comments often is that in my experience, any representation is, to them, "overrepresentation"
pretty much
yeah, that's the problem
hardly know any LGBT people in motorsport but whenever they're shown people always moan
anything is "overrepresentation"
and they only say "she's transgender and racing, that's okay and people shouldnt be afraid of coming out"
not that every fucking one there is LGBT or trans
yeah
precisely
i didnt register what this post meant earlier
so quickly. WHAT THE FUCK.
how absolutely idiotic
apparently people are bored of the pandemic so it doesnt exist now eh
Wot
Oh
I mean in theory it returns in June 6th
Probably won't happen tho lol
False hope
pogchamp
hungary is planning to make a motogp track
and its next to my little town
can't they just make it at the hungaroring?
they want a new track
noo
but i dont think it would be wide enough for f1
Opinion: WEC should double down on its IMSA tie-up
Audiās decision to leave the DTM at the end of this season should serve as a warning to any championship in motorsport relying on manufacturer involvement ā and the WEC certainly falls into that category ā that stagnation and failure to innovate, especially in a time of coronavirus-induced economic crisis, will ultimately result in disaster.
The past few years, the WEC has had a tendency ...Keep reading
Peugeot's WEC return on target despite Hypercar/LMDh dilemma

What's wrong with June 6th
it being far too early for a major event
Arbitrary statement
Except its gonna not gonna have fans
And the people that will be there will be careful
i still believe its far too early
like mainly due to the fact america is still gaining cases. and its still massively under fire from the virus. doesnt matter if no fans are gonna be there, its still loads of people there for the teams that don't need to be there. its not an essential service. so it shouldnt be happening
June 6th is quite a long way away
its 3 weeks away
its not a long way away

oh wow theres a championship table for it too
lmao what
I mean it was wrong of him to do so but where does that 10k fine come from
is that in the rules of the FE esports championship?
probably cus he wasn't allowed to yknow, have someone else drive for him
nono I get that
I'm just wondering if a fine like that, beyond the obvious disqualification, is explicitely in the rules of that e-championship (if it even has "proper" rules)
ooh
let's see
there are two instances where they mentioned being fined
ctrl f
nvm just one
Exploiting game glitches ā Intentionally using any in-game bug to seek an advantage. Exploiting is defined as utilising any game function that, in the sole determination of the organisers, is not functioning as intended.
- No forms of cheating, gameplay, gamesmanship or gaining an unfair advantage in any way will be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to:
Impersonation (including playing under another driverās account) ā to be understood as playing under another driverās account or soliciting, inducing, encouraging or directing someone else to play under another driverās account.
the only two instances of "fined" i can find are in "defined as"
yeah oof
again I understand it's against the rules and rightfully so
I'm just surprised at the 10k (even though that's probably peanuts for him)
I mean, bc it's FE they probalby have it in their contract that breaking the rules can result in a fine

this is basically how i feel about it
I will release a video statement at 6pm today. Too much to put it in a tweet. Thanks for your understanding šš»

Am I the only one that thinks itās harsh?
Fine him, warn him, do everything you can before you do this. Iām in no way, shape or form devaluing sim-racing but I think that itās not that big of a deal to lose your literal job over. Iām sure he knows by now that he fucked up BIG TIME
Letās wait and see what heās got to say in his statement. I really hope he begs on his knees
Yep
Considering it's an official event backed by sponsors etc and the fact that they signed a contract...
not to mention that if he's not taking his job serious why should Audi keep him
He didn't show up for the job
I think that's the problem here; many don't seem to realise that these sim-events are taken VERY seriously by the teams and especially the sponsors
yep
Exactly
ye
though personally it still blows my mind just HOW serious it is
I mean, that nascar driver with the n-word would have been bad in any case, sim or not
"It's just a game" basically says "i don't take the people and sponsors involved seriously"
but this is just... wow
If you don't take the problem serious, then more problems will follow
I donāt agree with those comments about it ājust being a gameā
I'm just not sure if Abt himself didn't take it seriously and thought that a simracer would have fun driving against real race drivers; or if he took it very seriously, was frustrated that he hadn't had success and hoped that would give him a good result
I can see how serious it is
I just hope he gets his job back and never thinks to do anything like this again
He definitely didnāt take it seriously
Is da Costa the guy that replaced him?
nope
Then why did he tweet that?
he was salty that Abt was fined yesterday
"Come on guys, he's a nice guy!" or something along those lines
So thatās just his opinion on the matter? The whole āIām done with streamingā
Is David really wrong though?
This, coming from a Felix fan
i fucking love the dude
but seriously
yeah that's it Kris
I see his point though
If I were a driver, Iād be scared to hop on a stream
Seems so easy to fuck up right now
apparently he's "afraid of simracing"
Unless Felix gets someone to race for him I don't see how it can go wrong
Theres no problem with just hopping on a stream and just fucking driving the car like you are supposed to
The wrong word, the wrong thing done, anything slightly out of line and itās over
@KelvinvdLinde @nickcatsburg Fully agreed. We are loosing sight of what we really do and what really matters... Do we accept cheating? No, but who never cheated at monopoly? Lets put things in prespective please. @Daniel_Abt šŖš¼
erm what
(Not to say downplay what Abt did)
The wrong word, the wrong thing done, anything slightly out of line and itās over
@old snow you cant really do much wrong
e.g. i understand both comments here
your monopoly game isn't backed by a shit tone of sponsors and teams
how the fuck can you even cheat at monopoly
fair
Iām not justifying any of da Costaās comments but I understand why heās afraid
moving 3 positions instead of 2 cus 2 would be jail
I do too but it's idiotic imo to stop streaming because someone cheated and had consequences
I totally agree. People should just not be shitty and maintain professionalism while they stream
@afelixdacosta @KelvinvdLinde @nickcatsburg @Daniel_Abt Did you really compare professional athletes that are representing their teams and SPONSORS competing in an event produced by a professional company with paid (at least I'm assuming) commentators to sitting in your livin...
Maybe not maintain professionalism but at least try their best to
i just feel like it's a difficult situation
I agree
I donāt see it as just one or the other
I think theyāre setting this as an example
To make sure that anyone else that even thinks of doing something like this, will think again
it still feels weird
I get that the events are taken seriously by the organisers, teams and sponsors
but there's still this part of me that kinda thinks "it's just a game"
probably because Leclerc and Norris always have these non-serious, more private streams as well
Whyyyy was Daniel such a fucking idiot? Dammit. I really hope heās learnt something from this
The fact that they didn't even try to hide it was really funny
Daniel tried to use ālagā as the coverup lmao
Because as stated in the article the person who was filling in for abt was doing blatent sim racer moves

This is such a joke. I don't like Abt at all but this decision is bullshit frankly
Considering it's an official event backed by sponsors etc and the fact that they signed a contract...
@pure pecan add in the fact that it was also for charity
yeah
Abt is suspended from Audi on Tuesday lunchtime via an official Audi AG communication, which cites: āIntegrity, transparency and consistent compliance with applicable rules are top priorities for Audi.ā
like
do people not realize how fuckign shitty abt's actions make audi look?
like someone is cheating in an officially sanctioned causing the entire team to get a PR nightmare
like of course he's going to be suspended!
PFFFF AHAHAHAHAHA
OHH MY GOD WHAT
ur late
smh š¤
anyway yeah
boy doesnt take Audi serious so audio goes "u no work here"
i guess he deserves it
like someone is cheating in an officially sanctioned causing the entire team to get a PR nightmare
@weary stone that's true; though I'm still surprised how quickly that happened
Ullrich stayed for another year before leaving Audi even after he said the "push him out" radio

yes those are words
I'm saw that
yet he still got the š
actual l m a o
Abt sportsline
but 3 years ago got factory backing from Audi
Start season 4 ?
he said that rfactor 2 has no relation at all with real racing
well "it's a simulation which does not have anything in common with real racing"
well... it does, it simulates real racing ?
not that it matters lmao
it could be fuckin
realracing 3, it'd still be an official event
backed by sponsors, backed by teams
exactly...
he is now talking about how the previous races were shit
and how everyone drove how they liked
he literally just said that he has already emphasized its not about the results, and that the drivers see it more as a fun online series
well if its not about the results, then just race? ??
didnt he say he got a pro simmer so he could get a good result
not yet
so he's saying some drivers focussed on the results whereas others focussed on the entertainment, including him
he has not explained why he did it yet. and has no apologised
5 minutes in
can someone tl;dr for me i cbf to watch 14 mins
it has english subtitles
I knoooowwww
But I have to pay full attention so I donāt miss anything he says
See ya in 15min
ill hold u up to that
i cba'd to watch the whole thing
some people are saying its genuine
and that he brings up good points
7 minutes in, heās saying that it was supposed to be a joke, a prank on the other drives if you will
He never had the intention of getting a better result
how to ruin your career in 3 simple steps
It seems genuine, he has video proof of saying it beforehand. He says ādo you want to drive for me? No joke! It would be super funnyā
Heās speaking to a professional sim racer btw
In the vid
still breaches his contract
and the actual rules of the event, it says no impresonation kek
I really donāt think he meant to do it as a way to get better results though
lol if anything that just shows he has no respect for the event
I donāt see it
Iāll keep watching
Might watch it a few times
He also says that the results in this are irrelevant to him, personally
And I see that. I think he has respect for it, he just doesnāt care about what results he gets himself
i see what ur saying but i think the fact that he is using the event to play a prank when sponsors are investing money, the time that other racers and team personnel put into the event, and he couldn't even show up himself ?
i get he didn't mean it in an ill-hearted way it just comes across that way
yeah
Sponsors, teams etc put a lot of money and time into that event, + it's for a charity
he has a contract to race for them, if he doesn't thne yeah he's fired, whcih is what happened
its just... there is a time and place for these things
he fucked up and chose the wrong time
it's also under the public FE rules for this event that someone else racing for you / racing for someone else is not allowed
Ok in my opinion, he didnāt have any malevolent intentions. Doesnāt mean itās less fucked up but he really did not mean it as a way to get better results
Doesnāt mean he shouldnāt be reprimanded for it
I just donāt think itās worth losing your seat over
Give him a fine, use this as a lesson, is it really necessary to drop him? He definitely knows he fucked up, big time
Again, if he can't take an event for charity seriously when teams and sponsors ar eputting a lot of money and time into it, why should his team take him seriously
Yes, I see that. I donāt think itās enough to lose your job over. If he did mean it, if he actually wanted better results, sure. He knows now to take it seriously, I wish he did before this but thereās no going back sadly
I was very shocked when I heard he lost his seat, but it's not really unfair
Finished it now and he didnāt try to shift the blame or deflect at all. Heās taking full responsibility
He does believe that the media were way too quick to jump on the wagon and call him a cheater. They didnāt give him a chance to get his say out
Last few minutes are basically him just apologizing and thanking everyone heās ever worked with, including Audi
Ok in my opinion, he didnāt have any malevolent intentions. Doesnāt mean itās less fucked up but he really did not mean it as a way to get better results
@old snow that's what he says though
Perhaps he's not being totally honest about that
I meant to say, Iām my opinion, I believe here being honest in that
He didnāt try to hide it though
He told them immediately when they asked because he was a dumbass not to realize how important it was
This situation is messy af
Yeah it's a messy situation
To summarize, he says that this entire thing was supposed to be a joke. He personally doesnāt take these results seriously and yes, itās unfair on all the sponsors and everyone else that puts time and effort into this. His plan was to get a professional sim racer to take over for him so everyone would be confused as to how he had improved drastically within a few days. Heās taken full responsibility and is accepting the fact that heās fucked up. Daniel knows itās the end of the road for him and Audi
he can still sign for another team
tho it'd be awkward to erm
race against your family's team
Heās apologized and is hoping that people will accept his apology
Lmao thatās what I was thinking
So the team was private at first, then Audi came along and partnered with them?
from what i know yes
Maaaaan, thatās awkward
im probably wrong
He truly is a fucking idiot
i dont follow FE other than Merc and Felix
yes
Is Stoffel still in there?
ABT started off as a privateer team
then 3 years ago, Audi became a factory partner with them
Wehrlein too?
however they, ABT and Audi, have been partners since the 90s
big f
The video is blowing up
60,000 when I clicked on it which was less than 15min ago
100,000 now
Someone in the comments said āRIP Formula Eās popularity in Germanyā
60,000,000 views?
Yikes
holy shit
Oh fuck off, you know what I meant
xD
Abt? yes
come the fuck on
and not because of the game, no
what was it
what was the contract
that he has to drive for them among other things
whcih he violated by getting someone to impersonate him
so audio abt went "fuck off"
Because theyāre scared of fucking up
idfk what they're scared of tbh
Which shouldnāt be a problem if they arenāt fucking idiots during live streams
unless they get someone else to drive for them they won't have problems
lmfao
or unless they do a Kyle Larson moment
the race did a decent video explaining exactly what happened
idk what a ringer is exactly
but it is referring to someone else doing the race for him
Me either but Iām guessing it means that
how lame of a person must you be
and how stupid must you be to think that in this age of social media, something stupid like this would work
like i dont get it, did he really thing ke would stay under the radar with this shit
Ringer:
Slang. a racehorse, athlete, or the like entered in a competition under false representation as to identity or ability
It was meant to be a joke but I donāt think he took it seriously enough
how is that a joke
He saw it as āhahahaha, it would be sooo funny if someone took over for me and made it look like I was a god at sim racing! The other drivers will be so confusedā
thats like doping and saying "lmao i got you" when you get caught
But it was a charity event and there were plenty of sponsors backing it. He really shouldāve kept that for another time
maybe he should have talked to you know, his team before doing thqat
Of course, he was a dumbass in that
i mean you have to be a really shit person to do something like that
He didnāt have bad intentions but he reeeeally shouldāve thought twice
Thatās what I mean. He really didnāt think it through
because if he just couldnt be bothered to sim race he wouldnt have raised attention by qualifying 2nd
it was just a selfish act of butt fucking stupid thinking
He was saying that he āpersonally doesnāt take it seriously and the results are irrelevantā
He didnāt do it to get ābetter resultsā
But he 100000% shouldāve realized how harmful it was
well if he didnt why didnt he go low key and qualify like 10th
like look i dont see this being a prank
imeagine this
i get a job
It sounds all innocent but itās not. Really stupid thinking
and i get some guy to do it for me
much better than me might i add
what is a prank about that
i see only 2 intentions
not wanting to bother with sim racing
or wanting to be the top sim racer
like i dont see why he would qualify so good if he didnt want to bother with it and just hired somebody to race for him
I see what he was doing with the prank thing. Just donāt think he realized how serious it was in that moment
i love democracy
š
Heās apologized and is hoping that people will accept his apology
@old snow the whole thing is fucking stupid. It's a fucking game. One of the guys came on and said they don't have to do it from what I know
Tell that to the sponsors
Weāll see what theyāll say
I see both sides here
To me, itās just a silly game. To the sponsors, the officials, everyone organizing it, it isnāt
He done fucked up and I genuinely feel bad for him but if this is what needs to happen for him to learn his lesson, so be it I guess
I know and I understand but it's a fucking gameš
Like if they told him before hand, this is for charity we need to have fun but take it seriously too then I understand
Iām 100% sure they did
He knew what he was doing
He just didnāt take it seriously enough
Iām 100% sure they did
@old snow I disagree
And this is the punishment for that
Why wouldnāt they tell him?
What reason would they have? I highly doubt he wasnāt informed of how serious this event was
Why would he do it if he knew he'd lose his seat?
He definitely wouldāve known it wouldnāt have ended in a good way
I wish he didnāt lose his seat but not much we can do really
It doesnāt look good on Audiās end
I don't know man. My take is, yes it's for charity and my understanding was they weren't forced to do it
It doesnāt look good on Audiās end
@old snow it's a game š
I understand his side and I actually agree with it. He was just trying to have fun. He just didnāt think far enough
I can say what he did was stupid but enough for him to lose his seat? Fuck no
Iām seeing it that way too. But as you know, sponsors and brand face are crucial
It did shock me but itās life. Heās accepted their decision and hopes everyone can move on
Iām seeing it that way too. But as you know, sponsors and brand face is crucial
@old snow I don't care man. Those guys are just annoying at this point. I mean maybe the media had a part to play but it's a bs decision
Jean Eric Verne put it in a nice way
Media was the one that made it out as if he was purposely cheating. Didnāt give him a shot. I can see why they jumped the gun and thought that
I just donāt like this situation at all. Shouldnāt have happened
Like I said man, you might just see it as a game but it certainly isnāt for others. Shitty situation with a shitty outcome
so why are these streamers leaving twitch now
@lethal yacht they scared of losing their drive over a fucking game
Like I said man, you might just see it as a game but it certainly isnāt for others. Shitty situation with a shitty outcome
@old snow yeah I'm just really disappointed
I mean the other drivers think that it's a bs decision too
I hope some old depressed grandpa didn't make this decision
Some disagree with it. I think it shocked many though
@old snow ofc
One thing I donāt agree with is the comparison between the Larson situation and this one
The reason why they shocked about it is because it's a game. It's online. It has nothing on results, it's for charity
One thing I donāt agree with is the comparison between the Larson situation and this one
@old snow will have to look that up
Well now we know itās worth more than that
Kyle Larson?
You didnāt hear?
NASCAR driver
He said the N word on a live stream. He thought he was in a private chat
šš
Lost his seat over it after sponsors started pulling out
Thatās a different ballgame imo
Damn bro š
I just canāt believe this decision with Daniel. Man, I didnāt expect this at all. Just wow. Iām not gonna downplay and say āitās just a gameā because I know how serious it is but fuck man...fuck
Iām not shocked because itās ājust a gameā, Iām shocked because I didnāt realize just how serious this was all being taken. I can see it now and I know damn well that the drivers can too
I donāt see why the drivers are scared of streaming though. Just donāt be dumbass, simple as that
Tbf imo I don't even think it's that serious what he did. Just give him a slap on the wrist and tell him to man up and do it for charity
I wonder if heāll be able to find another seat
Some are even saying that this is a way for Audi to get rid of him since they were planning on it anyway
I do not have evidence so donāt quote me on that
Itās all rumors and speculation
I donāt see why the drivers are scared of streaming though. Just donāt be dumbass, simple as that
@old snow the thing is they having fun and they in quarantine so some stuff might be said you know, someone might call his friend a jackass or a fuck hole on Camara by accident when he says it all the time in the whatsapp group
Then thatās gotta change. Keep the professionalism going. Lando, Charles and just about everyone else do it pretty easily, donāt see why others canāt
Scenes when bottas loses his seat at Mercedes when he says Toto wolff is my bitch on streamš
You know youāre on camera, live to the world, think twice about every decision you make if you have to
Eh, he could just run off to Renault
You know youāre on camera, live to the world, think twice about every decision you make if you have to
@old snow I know bro it's easy to say that but all it takes is 1 sec for you to forget
Yeah I think Renault wanna see what happens at the end of the season
I know red bull are choosing nico if albon goes "alb-off"
wait, drivers said they're scared of streaming?
Some of them, yes
rlly
most of the grid doesn't stream because they probably don't simrace casually
or even game at all probably
if you look back 10 years ago only a few drivers had rigs at home
sutil was 1
whereas now it's all the younger drivers
but it shouldn't really be hard for the drivers to not say dumb shit
they act professional for so much of their careers
they're used to cameras
Good bye Twitch, good bye streams...
Im out. See you never

@lethal python
One example
Im surprised it got this far
It's a game, sure, but it's not a casual race he's doing for fun, it's a sponsored event, for charity, and for publicity of brands and sponsors, and abt was being paid to race in it, as all the other FE drivers, and he clearly knew that, all the drivers are obligated to do the virtual races for marketing purpose and to help the sport live through theses rough times. By putting a simracer in his seat, making him impersonate him and make everyone believe it was still him, even having a webcam purposely not showing his face to be sure the swap would not be suspect, he clearly knew he was doing something wrong
And not only did he make a fool of himself, but he made Audi look like clowns, Abt brand look like clowns, all his sponsors like sony look like guys who sponsors clowns, and he made formula e look like a clowns championships where drivers do stupid stuff. It gives a whole lot of bad publicity to the sport and they really did not need that
Sentence is harsh yes, but they just couldn't pat on his shoulder and say "please don't do that again" after so much bad publicity for them
Sentence is harsh yes, but they just couldn't pat on his shoulder and say "please don't do that again" after so much bad publicity for them
The race penalties are fine but honestly I don't quite get the immediate suspension from Audi.
Other people got to stay for longer after (IMO) worse things
especially the DTM Spielberg scandal comes to mind
Is that the āPUSH HIM OUT JAā
yes
Wolfgang Ullrich, the guy who said the message and at that time head of Audi's motorsport division, got to stay with Audi for another year and a half before retiring
Also for some clarification
Is Abt sacked or on suspension
Because Sky says he has been released from Audi
another one says he has been suspended pending an investigation
officially just suspended
though Abt himself said that Audi told him that he won't drive for them in FE anymore
oof
shouldnt have cheated, its really not that hard

Lotterer has sympathy for Audi DTM drivers
Late last month, Audi announced its decision to end a two-decade-long involvement in the DTM to focus solely on its Formula E and customer racing programmes.
As well as plunging the future of the championship itself into doubt, it also means some of Audi's six factory DTM drivers could find themselves needing to find drives elsewhere to continue their careers.
Nico Muller and Robin Frijns ...Keep reading
Daniel Abt, after 6 years and 63 races, will no longer drive for Audi in Formula E. He has been part of our Formula E team since the debut of the racing series in September 2014, and our official factory driver since 2017.

Codemasters has secured the rights to produce the World Rally Championshipās official game from 2023:
No please
to be fair the WRC games aren't really better than DiRT
Codemasters is way better at rally games than F1 games yes
yes
much much better
wrc 8 was a really good game
kind of a slap in the face to the small developer group who were improving a game with every release
wrc 8 got the best rally stages out of any rally game ever made honestly
canāt wait for codies to half ass them and for it to just be a regular dirt game with wrc slapped on it
my guess is it wonāt be anything like the actual dirt rally games

Is MotoGP worth watching? How are the races and competition?
In my opinion, yes. Definitely worth giving a shot @zealous stone
The races are very rarely āboringā. Thereās always action and itās not uncommon to see final corner showdowns
MotoGP can still get these boring races though and the championship can get dull after Marc Marquez pulls away. The moment he gains momentum, heās almost unstoppable
I watched portugal 2006 a few months back
Heās on his 4th championship win in a row and he doesnāt seem to be slowing down
100% recommend
I read about rossi today and apparently he won 2000-2006 2008-09
What a beast
Another good race I highly recommend is the 2018 Dutch GP
That one was absolutely fucking amazing. Over 130 overtakes in that race alone
That's more overtakes than in an entire f1 season
Yep. It isnāt always about the amount of overtakes but it sure is exciting
Yep, MotoGP is great
Assen is known to have some pretty good races
I am a massive fan of Marquez but I would love to see some classic showdown and rivalries go on
Itās basically in the same state as F1 right now, championship wise
People wanna see Marc on another bike because heās been with Honda the entire time. They say he isnāt proven as a champion until he can win with other bikes
Sort of like how people want Lewis to prove himself by driving something other than a Merc
My dad was just saying earlier Honda was shit in motogp
Lmao
However he hasn't watched since 09
Depends. Different bikes have different riding styles
Ducatiās are difficult to master
Or at least, theyāre known for being difficult
But once the rider gets the hang of it, they rek shit
They used to be the best for top speed and would always win overtake battles when it came to straight lines
But Honda and a few other manufactures have worked on it
All in all, yes! Watch MotoGP
Give it a try
Oh fuck yes. Didnāt want to mention Moto2 or Moto3 yet until youāve gotten a feel of MotoGP
@old snow I'll check that out Thanks. I asked a MOTOGP fan and I guess he resents the dominance as a one man's show in the sport. But I guess MGP delivers better races compared to F1.
I watched Moto3 this year before quarantine, was on the edge of my seat the entire time
Same when I watched portugal 2006 motogp
Definitely. Marc may win a lot but I assure you, it is not without a fight. He is up there with some of the best riders in history
Can he ride my-

Honda, Ducati and Yamaha were the top teams. Suzuki slowly crept its way up and Iād say is nearly on par with them
Aprilia, KTM and the others are āmid fieldersā
Itās not uncommon to see those guys on the podium either
It can be frustrating with just Marc winning most of the time but again, youāve got some good fucken races to watch
And letās not even begin to mention Moto2 or Moto3...
