RS200 ?
an MG and a Ford RS 200
there are two 205s also
@rustic helm i think he had different kinds on different occasions and on different seasons, not really sure how much "custom" they were actually
well there were only a handful of racers so how much custom can they not be
my dick is quite har rn
Holy mother of 905 in front 🙏
what do you mean with this
for some reason i thought esso is portugalese but my bad
i think it checks out more than Exxon
Why doesn't Peugeot make cool shit like this anymore
Peu ge ots
Coz they're French
but they retired just one year after defeating the teutons 😦
yea ive heard money got tight
too tight
Peugeot are a farce when it ocmes to motorsports
they're not involved in anything
and never got serious enough about motorsports to advertise their cars
the road car sales probably didnt blew up like they hoped
they can't even outsell the Clio in France
the 206 was very popular in germany, and it could look really badass with the proper parts
206 also popular here in NL
yeah but we're at the 208 nowadays
they're focusing on their weird crossovers the 2008 and 3008
just make the best hatchback on the market and not this crap
anyway, they never got serious about F1 that's for sure
their best result are a few second places in 1994 with McLaren 2 with Jordan and one with Prost
That's an awesome picture of those awesome cars
Indeed

the 996 headlights have always looked great to me
though I prefer the 993 design by far
the 993 is my favorite Porsche tbh
993 looks great ye
honestly the 964 and 991 are my favorite porsches
I forgot Salazar was a driver
An ass of a driver
Tbh we need a Piquet like character today

test wing
since Tyrrell started the trend of raised noses
that year of 1990
And Alesi was just super good at its wheel
raised nose with equally raised front wing makes the car actually look like the old Mcdonalds F1-toys I have
but on the test car they didn't get that you mustn't raise the wing, only the nose to accelerate air to go under the car
i really love that even in the 90s they were still experimenting a lot with things and found lots of new ways to have more downforce
yeah
it's a bit sad that a lot of these cars are features in lists like "ugliest F1 cars"
because honestly no matter how weird it looks I love aero experiments
no clue

Interesting shifter layout
r in top left
I heard something about it once that a driver accidentally broke the gearbox because he forgot the layout
because of the reverse position
you're also very rarely in 1st gear
lowest you'll go will be 2nd, unless it's Lowe's hairpin
so having a straight movement makes more sense
correct
yeah it's using the dog leg layout

Fiat had a test track on their factory rooftop in 1929

Isn't that rooftop test track a bit dangerous
gunnar nilsson legend
i thought that double front axle car was never in action
weird, i could swear somebody told me it was only tested and banned before it would actually race
It actually won a race as well
it got a 1-2
but then FIA banned it? or the concept wasnt better than the 1 front axle?
goodyear made some really shit tyres for it and they abandoned 6 wheeler
6 wheelers were banned much after the p34
but im wondering, if the concept might actually be better than just 1 front axle
it was banned after williams tried it with 2 at the back
and it was way faster in the rain and had better ground effect
that's the one that was banned after testing
i think it was better for the aerodynamics of the era (the p34) and better for traction in the later ones but also made the cars much heavier
and more expensive and way more technical
and you would need to change 6 instead of 4 tires at a pitstop
not necessarily
the williams one tested in the rain with 1 set of wets and 1 set of dries at the back and it made it quicker
and its not necessarily more technical
maybe a different sort of technical, but the complexity is more at fitting the extra suspension in i think, so if you meant technical like that then yeah
yes thats what i ment, but what im on about is if the concept with the double front axle in general might be better, from a performance perspective
but i doubt it is, since we dont really see it at any road or racing cars
front is not
rear, it depends on the type of vehicle in road cars (bus and trucks, it obviously is)
it was only good for the p34 since in that era it was common to have a massive front wing
so it helped on drag
The p34 was plagues with shit braking, and goodyear had to make special 10 " tyres that only Tyrrell used
What am I looking at?
I have no idea but I love it

Clay ducked in the cockpit
wtf how did he not get crusehd
isn't that iron thing sticking out a roll cage kind of thing? wouldnt he be squeezed between the barrier here?
yes
he ducked in the cockpit
there is a section on his wikipedia about it
"Regazzoni continued to drive in Formula Three events during 1968 and, not for the last time, was lucky to survive a major accident. Exiting the chicane during the Monaco Grand Prix Formula 3 support race, Regazzoni lost control of his car and collided heavily with the crash barrier. The diminutive size of the Formula 3 machine allowed it to pass under the rail, the sharp metal edge of the Armco slicing across the top of the open cockpit. Regazzoni managed to duck down low enough in the driving seat for the rail to pass above him, missing his head by a tiny margin. The car eventually came to a halt when the roll hoop, behind Regazzoni's head and significantly lower than the top of his helmet, wedged itself underneath the barrier"
it sounds nuts but i cant think of any other way he could have survived
http://www.ritzsite.demon.nl/DAF/Cars/Formula_racer.jpg here is the chassis he raced
Love that the engine has it's own structure to attach to. Not integrated like it is now
yeah it's so strange to see now but it's also really awesome to see everything exposed like that
the engine directly affects the look of the car
here is a little bit about the film Rally driver Shane Hunter faces his comeback to Group B competition after a long and troubled absence.
idk if this is any good but its pretty new
thanks!

its a trick...

That reminds me
best group b footage ive seen was "group b - ride on a fireball" best movie ever
@distant elm did u know peugeot made around 200 productions of this? awd 200hp and sexy
i want a 405 now...
group b, good man
group b is life
fucking pussy society a shame they had to shut it down
yeah
it was probably shut down by the people that tought F1 needed the Halo
like yeah its safe and stuff but do we really need that much safety?
wasnt it the accident as well? and the cars were just way too quick
and not secure enough like they are nower days
people got hit and the cars disintegrated on impact
but yea, idk i have a very inhuman approach to this, i think some of the most entertaining stuff sometimes has to be dangerous and comes at a certain price
and as long as you dont force people to do it its perfectly fine
like with isle of men or so
yes
it wasnt the guys pressuring them to get into the car
or stand beside the road
all of their own will
or just look at space traveling, people would be ready to pay the price to risk their life to achieve greater goods, i know it might be a bad comparission but yea
just look at WRC nower days... poland for example people were waaaay to close to the roads
i would stand in the middle of the road just to get the best perspective of the car until the last second if i was there
if they are that stupid, let them
or if they are willing to take that risk
its their thing
but then you could argue that people who work as medics etc. have tons of extra work etc.
lol :D:D

True

Great Britan - Brands Hatch John Watson / McLaren (on board camera) 1980
Looks like a cropped view of this clip from 1980 based on the paint livery, mirror, steering wheel and windscreen
Indeed it’s the same car, but they probably also altered the audio of the engine to avoid copyright strikes
I can't get the audio in the original to work to know. But 1980 should've been the M29, eh?
Also, based on the livery and body shape...
They ran so many cars
M30 had rectangular mirrors
M28 had white around the driver and red on the sides
M26 was a different shape altogether
That was the reasoning behind my guess anyway
Scrap that Watson only had the M29 for 1980, correct model
M28 doesn’t have the plexiglas canopy outside the metal structure above the wheel also
Only M29s have it
Process of elimination is great
It’s just the audio that confuses me too much

Senna's greatest race has to be Brazil 1991
DOnington is

but the scream when he wins.
Or the 1993 Brasil one when he beats Prost because of the rain and Fangio gets on the podium. Most memorable Senna moment ever ?
1988 Japan?
First championship win and having to past Prost
Tbh there's is many you can pick from
Well, Ayrton Senna is from Sao Paulo, so one of these races it is.
I wouldn't even pick any of the Monaco races. Or maybe the 1988 one when he crashes out because he lost focus one brim moment
92 monaco was mostly due to mansells issue though
same for 1993 and Alain Prost having a stop and go penalty
for.. jumping the start ? not sure
I literally watched these seasons once
This is why I can't remember anything
And why I'm getting the DVD reviews
im pretty sure 91 brazil would be his best drive
holding patrese of for so long in 6th gear
Weird to think that Patrese raced when Ronnie Peterson was still alive
Considering back then the F1 drivers weren't exactly athletes
Créditos : FabioRSY91 Sei lá por que mas Piquet desmaiou depois do Gp Brasil de 1982 e foi desclassificado por Problemas de Combustivel
This being and example of how much they didn't give a shit
Riccardo Patrese is the pivot between the older times and the newer ones since he raced for so long
1977 till 1993 that's s tupid longevity for the times
Then you have drivers like Hunt who only raced for 6 years
Mostly because of bad racing and life choices
Exactly
sennas greatest race was the one where he screams from top of his lungs
after he won
it gives me chills almost every time
and i cried multiple times watching that scene
