#Ender Dragon no kill animation, just despawns

So as i have mentioend in #⬩➤❓-questions I am not able to "kill" the Ender Dragon. When he reaches low hp he just kind of gets stuck on top of the tiny pillar on top of the portal. I can then hit him until 0hp but he just proceeds to despawn and absolutely nothing happens (apart from the portal opening and i can get the credits)

There is no death animation or anything, just a despawn
