DISCORD RULE ENFORCEMENT

The discord rules can be found in #discord-rules.

Zero Tolerance Rules
Rules One and Seven
Only one warning will be issued for the violation of zero tolerance rules before the individual is removed from the Discord.

General Enforcement
All users will receive ample warnings (at least two) before being moderated for any non–zero tolerance rule. Warnings reset after a thirty-day period.

Continued rule violations will result in a three-day mute, followed by a thirty-day temporary ban if the rules continue to be broken.

Warning > Warning > Mute > Temp Ban

Permanent removal from the discord is a last resort and may only be initiated by a 3/4 majority staff team vote, the violation of a zero tolerance rule, or through a quality control ban. Any staff member may initiate a permanent discord ban vote, provided the individual has received at least one temporary ban on record. No single offender may have a permanent ban vote initiated on them more than once every thirty days. The staff member bringing forth the ban vote must be able to provide verifiable evidence of irreparable or egregious harm caused by the player.

<@&1412241166266662966> may lessen or negate the punishment for any non–zero tolerance rule violation they are moderating at their own discretion, but may never escalate punishment beyond the listed standards without approval of the <@&1441894710305230910> or a <@&1412220339525648538>.

<@&1412241166266662966> should always use context and intent as a factor in their decision before issuing moderative action. The offender should always be given a chance to explain their side of the story before being moderated should they request it.

Appeals
Appeals can be handled through #1484432767541444720.

Appeals for bans from the discord may be temporarily handled through the <@&1441894710305230910>'s DMs until we get a forum section up.

GAME RULE ENFORCEMENT

Zero Tolerance Rules
Only one warning will be issued for the violation of zero tolerance rules before the individual receives a permanent ban.

General Enforcement
All users will receive at least one A-Help warning and a note before being moderated for any non–zero tolerance rule.

Undisputable griefing (mass killing your team, first time player bombing briefing, etc) may be met with an instant permanent ban.

Continued rule violations will result in a three-day ban, followed by a seven-day ban and then a thirty-day ban.

Permanent removal from the game is a last resort and may only be initiated by a 3/4 majority staff team vote, the violation of a zero tolerance rule, or through a quality control ban. Any staff member may initiate a permanent game ban vote, provided the individual has received at least one temporary thirty day ban on record. No single offender may have a permanent ban vote initiated more than once every thirty days. The staff member bringing forth the ban vote must be able to provide verifiable evidence of irreparable or egregious harm caused by the player.

<@&1412241649186242570> may lessen or waive punishment for any non–zero tolerance rule violation they are moderating at their discretion, but may never escalate punishment beyond the listed standards. <@&1412241649186242570> are encouraged to handle rule breaks in-character through the use of ghost roles, faxes and law enforcement/MPs. Rule breaks that significantly damage the round or ruin player experiences (mass random killings, griefing, etc) may not be handled in-character or be waived.

Appeals
Game enforcement appeals can be handled through #1484432767541444720.

UNIVERSAL ENFORCEMENT

Quality Control Bans
A quality control ban is a full community removal and is only to be used when no other options are effective or when an individual is considered too disruptive to the community and/or quality of the community to remain present. A quality control ban results in removal from the discord, game server(s), forums and any other platform moderated by Colonial Marines: Universe.

For a quality control ban to be initiated, the <@&1441894710305230910> and all <@&1412220339525648538>s must be in agreement that such action is required. The ban will then roll over into a vote among all staff members and must receive at least a 3/5 majority to be accepted. Quality control bans are considered unappealable for 365 days after the ban has been enacted. After this period, the player must contact the <@&1441894710305230910> to request the ability to appeal.

Cross Community Bans
Cross community bans shall never be executed unless the offender has committed an egregious or illegal act (doxxing, grooming, pedophilia, etc) such that the safety of the server and its players would be in question due to their presence.

Colonial Marines Universe may share moderation record information and associated usernames with other server's staff upon request, so long as the information does not include personally identifying information such as IP addresses and reserves the right to refrain from sharing such information for any reason. Please reach out to the <@&1441894710305230910> to put in a request.

Purposeful griefing can be met with a permeant ban so long as you notify an <@&1412220339525648538> or <@&1441894710305230910> of the action.
