Question about SE.Live setup.

After installation, I can't get the Multi-Streaming menu to open / be visible anywhere to set my destinations
I am logged in as guest as we do not have access to the twitch and youtube logins for the accounts which are being used.

Trying to navigate via the Stream Elements tooltip at the top of the OBS window does not help.

Am I missing something?

Hello, I hope a pro can help me — I'm willing to pay if it works. Here's my problem:

Over a month ago, I set up OBS with StreamElements and linked my Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok accounts for streaming. I didn’t go live right away, and now my TikTok live access has been revoked. I’ll share screenshots right after this. I can still stream normally on Twitch and YouTube, but for TikTok there's a red dot, so I have to request access again.

When I try, it says my TikTok access has been revoked for 30 days — even though I never went live. The weird part is, I can still go live directly through TikTok Live, so there's no issue on that side. I've already waited more than 30 days.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

@thorn vessel What platform do you have setup as your Primary Output in OBS? If you Youtube, change it to something OTHER than Youtube. There's a conflict within OBS that can cause issues if you use Youtube as primary along with SE.Live multi stream plugin.

3. Remove StreamElements as an app that has permission
4. Go to https://streamelements.com/ and log in.

@jagged bane I had SERIOUS issues using SE Live. Despite following guides, going with basic settings, and beginning with a fresh install of OBS, SE Live would crash my streams or only broadcast to one service. I have a 2.0Gps internet connection and with over 300Mbps upload speed, so my internet was certainly not the issue. I can't personally recommend anyone to use SE Live nor offer any meaningful support for issues others may be having. Standard OBS is the way to go. I've found a handful of videos that go in depth about advanced settings and my streams have been flawless since.

The SE Live user interface looks beautiful but doesn't work well.

Se.live does not block any transmission, since the selive plugin came out to make direct on several platforms, I have used it, I have recommended it, I have helped install it and configure and for now no one has had problems beyond the typical configuration, nor has anyone blocked the direct ones using the SE.live

I'm sorry, but it seems you don't understand the issue. OR I'm (most likely) an idiot.

Let me explain:

On twitch we (streamers) usually stream with music. Twitch allows that.

But we can't publish stream recordings (VODs) with music because of the copyrights.

OBS has a specific setting, that allows us separate audio tracks in that way so our viewers hear music on stream, but it is not being recorded. So in the stream recordings there is no music at all.

SO the issue is that if I stream with SE elements, music is being recorded regardless of my OBS settings or canvas settings

So I noticed the 2 youtubes as well. I have it setup for a horizontal stream and a vertical stream. Tested last night and bot outputs worked. I could view my horizontal and vertical on phone and on computer

Anyone able to help with some mic issues I'm having? Attached is a shortened clip of me and my friend voice acting Deltarune, but my mic sounds, off, is the only way I can describe. It sounded way worse last night than it does right now for some reason but that's unrelated (I think lol)

Check your setting of your overlay 8n the streamelements website to make sure it set to 1920 by 1080. Whenever you build a new overlay or alerting it will tell/ask you what size you want it at

Hi I was hoping someone can help me, when I came back from vacation OBS asked me to resign to my twitch account which I did. But since then my over lays have not been working. It shows my latest follower from someone that followed me when I was in vaca but after that it doesnt update. Neither does my alerts when I get a new follower/sub. The Twitch Enhanced Broadcasting feature doesn't allow you to use the CPU as the primary encoder because it's specifically designed to take advantage of the hardware encoders on modern GPUs, such as NVIDIA GeForce RTX or AMD Radeon RX 6000/7000.

Even if you select the x264 (CPU) encoder in OBS, if you have Enhanced Broadcasting enabled, OBS will still try to use the GPU to generate multiple versions of the stream. This is why you'll get the same error, even if you're using the CPU.

In short:

• No CPU support: Only works with GPUs with dedicated encoders.
• If your GPU isn't supported, you should disable Enhanced Broadcasting and use the x264 encoder as usual.

I have multiple scenes in obs like - in game/ chating / be right back ... when I streaming on one scene and any alert appear for example follower alert....alert work fine but when I switch to another scene...alert plays again...it is happening on each scene everytime when I switch scenes...It is not playing repeatedly but alert playing on each scene even when it was played before on previous scene. Check the task manager to see what things you have consuming resources, and check how many applications you have open, what you can do is lower the stream resolution to 720p and not put the low latency that would improve a little.

Stream Elements Help Desk found the solution! The Video Encoding had to changed in the vertical canvas settings to AMD HW H.256 (HEVC) I hope this helps!

Hi everyone, I’m having a serious problem here.
I use StreamElements multistream in my OBS Studio. The issue is that the StreamElements multi-chat window is stuck in one spot on my screen, and I can’t move it anywhere else. I’d like to move it to my second monitor, like I used to.
I’ve already tried installing, reinstalling, logging out—but whenever I log back into StreamElements, it resets the chat window to the exact same location, which seems to be “locked” due to my online account configuration.
Where can I go to reset the default window layout for StreamElements? I’ve tried everything and nothing works. I’ve spent hours on this.

Hey, I have a weird issue with OBS. Whenever I try to record, it creates a file named "9" with no file extension and 0 bytes in size. The file shows up in my selected recording path, but it's completely empty and unusable.

Here's the strange part:
Recordings in 16:9 (landscape) format work just fine.
But as soon as I switch to 9:16 (portrait) – this issue happens.

Additional info:

Recording format is set (.mp4)

OBS has access to the drive

Scenes and sources are set up correctly

OBS is running with admin rights

Has anyone experienced this before? I'd really appreciate any help!

This question has probably been asked a 100 times... is there a way to get stream labels for multiple platforms for multi-streaming? Seems it only pulls from the platform you're signed in to... (can i show All recent followers/subs/donos ... from all platforms)? How do others do this?

That's what I've found so far too :/ ... each service seems to only offer this for the platform your signed-in to ... like streamelements and botrix... show recent follows for whatever account (twitch, kick, YT) you are logged-in to...

it's weird that you can get a consolidated chat feed from multiple platforms, but not the follower/subs type information

Hi, I don’t know if this is the right place to post this question but I will. I knew the OBS and streaming I just came over from TikTok live and now I wanna stream to kick twitch and TikTok all at the same time so this looks like a great fit. I set up my windows and my verticals and I get this error when I try to start streaming I connect it shows me I’m connected to twitch kick, and TikTok and it authenticates so I’ll post pictures on the next one.

I get these errors when I try to start streaming now I cleared out the regular OBS stream stuff you can see in that picture. Anyone have any ideas why I’m getting these errors I really appreciate it. Thanks for your help in advance.

Yep. You would need to get a capture card & route the Xbox through the CC then the CC to your computer then add the CC as a video input on one of your scenes in OBS and then stream from the computer 🙂

Don’t blame you. That would upset me. I will suggest if your stream deck is having connection problems I sometimes have to close out of mine completely on my pc and then re open the software to get it to connect again. Nothing to do with SE but just some side advice in the future that might help with your stream deck situation.

OBS 32 is new, they changed the way some things work. The StreamDeck has an update that fixes things, but if you use a portable version of OBS you have to manually update some files.

I'm not 100% sure SE.Live has been updated to work with OBS 32 yet, but it should be working soon.

Reinstalling SE.Live has fixed things for some people.

I don’t think I am. Cuz I wasn’t having the issue with not closing properly till recently. It worked great for like the first month I used it. Then obs had an update and I think that’s when i started having the issue. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled to confirm it was SE.live and not another plugin in obs.

I've seen many with this issue on the Streamer.Bot discord. I'm not sure but it sounds like TikToks API has some authentication issues after awhile and starts spitting out "Too many attempts". I don't stream to TikTok but figured that might help you knowing it's not just SE.Live on this one imo.

Looks like it's a cooldown period from searching. Anywhere from hours to two days I'm seeing. That would be rough if that continues to happen. Do you have another device you could maybe pull it up alongside your monitor just until they can better adjust their end? I'm hoping within a few weeks to months it'll get ironed out. I'm guessing the overwhelming amount of streaming services available now is causing quite the headache for SE.OBS because it's been hit or miss for me. I'm so sorry!! Mine has been like 2~ or so, give or take. I put in a ticket with SE and submitted my files, but the OBS team suggests to go without SE.Live and try it out.

I did a fresh install of obs and se live. cant log in to twitch or any other sites through either one. everytime I try to log in it starts the process then just goes to a black webpage. RAM Speed is 5600 (Bare in mind these are ECC/RDIMMs not regular RAM. that 128gb runs about $850)

I am rendering live in realtime 3d virtual production (same tech stack as Fox NFL and F1 use for their broadcasts. Running Zero Density-UE, Lino for graphics rundown, full studio automation)

On top of that I am encoding and decoding anywhere from 15 to 20 different videos simultaneously, I am recording across 3 cams in 4k each getting a different shot inside the 3d world that the subject then gets put in via green screen and camera tracking. Each of those cameras need to also have the 3d scene rendered from their point of view. All of this is full lumen and ray traced.

I am also recording to the computer from each camera the raw footage, the tracking data, the unreal cam movements and literally EVERYTHING separately for creating clips post stream.

I am almost at capacity with the 5090 and 4070 ti super which is why I will be getting a second 5090 in the next month or two.

HDD are not being recorded onto. Recording goes to the 9100 pro which is the fastest M.2 drive at 14gb/second. The HDD are used for storage so after the stream I move the foiotage to those.

@knotty rover i'd still recommend getting CMR or PMR drives, SMR drives have very low sustained write speeds, whereas 7200 RPM CMR drives should sustain 110-160 MBps;
have you figured out something for data redundancy? i prefer manual backups as they also protect from ransomware, but if physical failure is more likely, you could run your SSDs in raid 1

Yes all drives are doubled and RAID. Beyond this I have automated backups that get backed up to home server as well as a server I own at another location about 200 miles from me. Lastly both those servers get backed up to a server running in a data center (personal data center at my house in mexico)

i've had my own struggles with performance lately, every fps counter is telling me "120 fps", then i record a video at 120 fps and it's not 120 fps, troubleshooting this taught me that i know a lot less than i thought i knew

Its not so much about that for me. Genlock is a way to sync the camera frames with the virtual camera in unreal engine. Think timecode on steriods\

I can push 120 fps if I wanted to but it would lokk like TRASH since my actual camera is shooting in 30 fps (May be moving to more cinema style at 24 fps but the Unreal scene needs to render at that same framerate. And keep that framerate without fluctuation. This is what Genlock is used for in virtual production)

yes. you need to have an authenticator token made in google cloud which sends it to the custom widget. I made one myself and it works. I currently trying to make a total members goal counter which is another issue since youtube doesn't have a public api for that.

In the canvas settings, I can select ‘same as OBS’ under ‘Recording’ and save it, but when I open it again, the setting is reset. When I switch to recording in OBS, my vertical canvases are not recorded.

Since recently, the Media Request (Song Request) window in OBS no longer loads. When I start OBS, the browser source opens, but the widget area stays completely blank (see attached screenshot).

I have already:

Updated OBS to the latest version

Cleared the browser source cache and re-added the widget

Tried disabling hardware acceleration

Confirmed that my StreamElements overlay link is correct

The issue persists. Could you please check if there’s an issue with the Media Request widget or if there are new compatibility requirements for OBS?

@balmy socket open the Sound control panel (mmsys.cpl) and double-click your capture card's virtual device, go to the Advanced tab, open this dropdown list; do you see a mix of "mono" and "stereo" options? if yes, pick a 48000hz "stereo" option
also check if your console is outputting mono to the capture card - i don't own this console, so i can't give specific directions, but here's a picture from the internet:

@balmy socket this is odd, capture cards should be serving 48000 hz with 2 channels, not 96000 hz with 1 channel
you may have the console setting that makes it serve mono audio, but if that's not the case, it could be that the capture card is faulty, this is very common with cheap (sub-$100) capture cards

only possible using the elements. overlay with the permanent "latest sub/follow" etc is only possible for one. or you setup different overlays (from SE logged in with the different platforms) the way they fit together once you added each as a browser source in obs

but if you mix alerts from overlays with the elements or use multiple overlays (by each platform) you have to position it the way they don't block each other. there will be no queue, so if you get an event at the same time for multiple platforms, it will play both at the same time on screen

but you could do your main alert center on top, another one a little beneath it for example

Hi. I have an issue where my activity feed hasn’t refreshed/loaded in 4 months. I unlinked and reconnected my account, and then added stream elements overlays. It seemed to work. The next time I’ve opened OBS, my activity feed it showing back to 4 months ago and the overlays aren’t working.
