It's an IRL streaming app only at this time, and in time will be given mobile screen sharing functionality. Adding a phone camera as a source when streaming from a console isn't possible, and won't be possible.

Yes it will be there when you go live on mobile...you can customize the alerts and overlays just like PC streaming. If you use an overlay you will not see it while using the mobile app though.

I have a few question about some of the settings in the stream elements live APP. For streaming to twitch, is there any plans to implement functionality such as the ability to manually switch injest servers? Such as adding option to stream to custom rtmp server? How does the app connect to streaming services and what twitch server location will it use? Is the fastest twitch server automatically selected based on my location regardless of what country I am in? A little more customization options would really make this app more attractive. Audio settings, more video setting, such as framerate adjust, ability to change your stream name and category, tags, etc. Looking forward to a response excited for whats coming down the pipeline.

I've setup weather as a custom nodejs script on my server that pulls a 3rd party api. we don't really use location or currency. well.. location we have in !time that just says where streamer is and local time.

Please add support for native device video stabilization to the SE app. This is huge and it makes a massive difference when choosing streaming apps to use.
Without it it essentially makes a phone with built in stabilization 10x worse to stream with.

Using the app now and the only other thing that would be nice would be to be able to increase the size of chat text as you can do in streamlabs app. This would help heaps as the text is really small on screen makes you have to have a separate phone for chat. @waxen sphinx we have a module that is automated and can announce ALL alerts if you want. There is no reason to do a separate command that will show the last follower.
Log in, left menu > modules > chat alerts and check the settings there.

Hey guys, On mobile none of my viewers using the TWITCH mobile app could redeem anything in my store. When they clicked the link to my store and clicked redeem it told them they needed to login. whenever you click login the screen goes black. Found that bot counter widget doesn't display the correct count in the stream when the correct count is displayed on your overlay editor.
So another words, Bot counter widget for a count is not working on mobile currently. let me know if you need to know more info I can elaborate

A plain ${count} command will not work, you need to have a name for it.
Example setup:

Count is displaying correctly on overlay using this link. I will just make a separate text widget to supplement the text header for the widget since this widget will only display the count of said count name. This is a fix. So you are most likely using Smart Stream which adds a bit of response time between you and the stream (the bigger delay)
and if the connection you have(reception) is not stable enough, the delay might get bigger

I do use it and it aweosme thing i dont have like 20 vid anymore only 1 or 2 the most... but you remind me of another thing. when my stream does die or d/c (it been held by smart connection) I come back but the screen either stay black or looking for connection screen and it wouldnt come bacj until i restart whole app or phone so the smart conection goes away and restarts a whole stream, is there a way to fix it? @edgy gale

hello! i have a really really bad issue! i'm streaming with an external mic on my phone, and every time there is an alert, the audio because distorted and robotic. it is fixed once i unplug and replug the mic in. this happens even if i disable alerts for viewers. is there no way to turn alerts off completely??

SE settings at 720p / 2k bitrate. Average framerate showing 68 fps. On an S10 with verizon 4GLTE coverage, minimal throttling using a MIFI 8800 jetpack

Now that I check, all streams are at 60fps from the source. So the SE app is not limiting the framerate I dont think.
This brings bandwith usage concerns if there is no way to limit it to 30 fps. I will try playing around with native phone settings and run some tests. If anything changes I will post here, if not then that is where it stands I guess 😦 thanks for the replies and the help.

but I found there is no way to set low-latency mode on youtube dashboard.
Because everytime I start streaming. The app creates a new setting for my stream, and you can't change latency option during streaming.
I thought it would be better if I can change latency option in app or making app can choose to keep previous setting like streamlabs app.

Regarding my issue above,
Ran tests using twitch inspector and found out the Stream elements app is pushing 60-70 FPS regardless of native video settings on phone. I then recorded the same test under same network environment and settings with the streamlabs app and set fps to 30. It worked and the stream was recorded at max 30 fps stated by twitch inspector. I checked another streamer who uses the SE app to stream and it is also coming in at 60fps. If the default fps for the app is supposed to be 30, it isn't working. This is a very important issue for the app and hopefully it gets fixed or we get some fps control.
On a more positive note, I love the companion app as it allows me to view chat on a separate device. I love SE but this might force me to switch to SL app for the time being. I hope this gets resolved or maybe a solution? Looking forward to a response. Thank you

@covert quarry So I did as you asked.... set the bitrate to 1000kbps and resolution to 720p and ran a stream with smart stream off and the bitrate shot back up to over 8000kbps.
put smart steam back on after and the bitrate settled back down to around 1000 - 1200 kbps

If you put a higher bitrate than your connection can handle, yes, it'll be bad.

After doing testing the top StreamBar is showing 10,000kbps-12k And the settings are on 4.0 mpbs and 1080p. They quality while watching the videos on twitch are like 240p or worse with intermitent lagging every few seconds. As stated before the (other platform) has no issues and high quality. No where on the app to select a server or anything. I'm trying to see if its my end (doubtful) or not. I have a 100mb upload on wifi and 25mb upload on verizion towers. Hope this gives more context to my issues im having

@covert quarry Ok so put up 4 quick vod's When streaming with StreamElements and watching it live as in one of the videos (shit quality) but you can see the live view lagging. When looking at the vod tho it seems to not buffer like it does live. With stream labs they are both smooth.

We can only proceed alerts for the tipping systems we provide, so for everything which is made through our link. For everythong else, you would need to code that yourself to get the alerts triggert with a custom widget.

So a friend of mine is using the StreamElements app right no w and we noticed something VERY interesting
For whatever reason it's streaming at 120FPS (or even 144FPS, unsure).
The stream works fine on my 144Hz monitor set to 120Hz, but the moment I move the stream to a 60Hz monitor it lags immensely every second and pauses for a short moment.

Apparently there is no FPS setting in the app either... I kinda expected that to be a given since some people might want to stream at 720p30fps instead of 60 due to bad connection / better quality over higher refresh rate
Also, different topic - the app doesn't support notches, does it?
He's switched to another app for now that doesn't have the FPS issues. I'm happy to try it out as well to see about both the FPS and notch issues
Do you guys offer an opt-in beta perhaps?

If you are using another app on the iOS and it supports external overlays provided by a URL, then you can use our overlays.

@proud trench When you use the app it creates a mobile overlay that you can edit directly from the site, I can't say for certain as our developers haven't developed the app for iOS yet but my suspicion tells me that for iOS it will be exactly the same

I mean running something like a speedtest, might help to see if your internet connection is struggling which would cause issues with downloading your overlay which is essentially a webpage

I am not very savy in the mobile section. But you could try to clear the cache for the app on the phone.
You can also try to reaload the overlay in the activity feed.

Yes, you can edit the overlay that was created in your StreamElements account on the site. While the changes will not be visible in the app itself, they will show up on the stream.
