I know the Android app is in beta, but we are still being told there is a mobile overlay that is created when we first use the app but it NEVER appears in my StreamElements overlay lists, even though I have been repeatedly told that is where it will be available. Please Team StreamElements can you figure out why it is never available? I've tried signing out, signing in again, uninstalling the app, reinstalling the app, turning phone completely off once app is signed out and uninstalled, then starting phone again..... etc etc ad nauseum, ad infinitum. What is REALLY happening with the mobile overlay or lack of it?

Recently streamed through the stream elements app since I haven't still downloaded PRISM app yet as it stated on the Stream Elements streaming app that I was live streaming my cities Ragbrai event then once the city event was over I ended stream elements live streaming then went to my check my vids/past broadcasts for that past stream only to find out it had no past stream or even a past stream of the past stream I just did through the smartphone streaming elements app which I found to be very wierd with it stating the whole time with the app that I am live running to twitch channel but anywhoot, guess I just try downloading prism to see if I get different results that way instead since this happened like approximately around week ago now too. Hey folks, anyone know what the deal is with the max bitrate setting? I set it to 5000 but UI says i'm transmitting at 6000+. I'm trying to control how much data I use and I fear that my phone shooting off more data than it needs to is reducing battery life & causing it to overheat (after 30 mins-1hr my bitrate drops down to 1-2k, even if i'm streaming in my own home on my own WIFI which I'm assuming is overheating). I've now set the max bitrate to 3800, and the UI sits around ~4900.

I'd like to know what is actually happening here. Is the max bitrate being ignored or is the UI showing misleading numbers...? I've tried this on a Galaxy S22+ & a Pixel 5 - same result on both.

It does, When you login to the StreamElements App it creates a mobile overlay with an alertbox. You can edit it by going to your dashboard > Streaming Tools > My Overlays > Purple Mobile overlay (please don't rename this overlay as it will not function if changed).

From there you can change the alerts to your desired design

Has anyone ever been able to get a StreamElements widget to work as an overlay in Larix Broadcaster? I am trying to set up an alert overlay in SE that I can then add to my preview screen in Larix so I can see YT and FB event alerts on the screen while streaming.

When I open the overlay link in a browser window it seems to not activate until I click inside the blank page area of the browser window. After I do some clicking and dragging around in the browser window, I start to see the alerts in that window. I'm wondering if it's something similar in Larix but theres no way to click or manipulate overlays in Larix AFAIK.

Hey @hollow violet This may be an issue with the App's Browser Sources. You can try to use Prism Live Studio which supports SE Overlays

That isn't possible unfortunately, there isn't a way to have the chat be auto read by the TTS voices to my knowledge. I know there are custom widgets and tools to accomplish this but i'm not aware of any on our platform.

You need to emulate the alerts from the Overlay Editor.

Go to the Streamelements dashboard, then Streaming Tools, My Overlays, Mobile alerts (do not rename the overlay), and then emulate the alert you wish to test.

Make sure that you have "preview live on stream" selected so it sends the message to the phone

I'm having an issue using the stream elements app with twitch on my galaxy s8. Everything looks fine on my end, but people watching the stream get really glitchy looking visuals, but the audio works fine. I switched to streaming from my new pixel phone and everything worked exactly as it should

Can anyone think of why the galaxy s8 in particular would have what seems to be video encoding problems? Strangely, the thumbnails all looked fine, but the twitch vod itself is just random glitchy colors

How do I add overlays to a mobile stream? Obs isn't supported on mobile, streamelements only does IRL streams from mobile from what I can tell. I'm attempting to add an overlay to a mobile gaming stream but so far I've only been able to actually stream from the twitch app, and have no idea how to add an overlay within twitch itself

Just tested out Streamelements on youtube for the first time using my phone. I have a few questions I was hoping I could get answered. I set my bitrate to 10k, but the bitrate showing doesnt seem to havea limit, sometimes I see it going up to 20k and above, is there a way that I can cap this? or is it simply showing me potential bitrate? Hello, friends! I did an IRL stream last night using the app and none of the sounds were coming through. The overlay was not muted on the streamelements site. Was it because I had the slider turned on for auto mute the whole time? If so, it's not auto mute... it just mutes streamelements audio entirely for the whole stream. You could hear my sound just fine but the alerts and store redemptions had no sound. 😦

The app is using the Android volume slider for the audio that you hear from the phone (not for the stream), be it internal speakers or bluetooth devices etc.

So you need to set the volume right to hear that.

Yeah even when testing my alerts, the activity feed isn't muted and all of my alerts are muted.

When I trigger a redemption in chat it won't even show up or register in the activity feed UNTIL I emulate an alert on the overlay editor, THEN I am able to see and hear alerts as normal. This is DEFINITELY a bug.

Wait, are you having issues with item redemptions or alerts such as subscription, tips, cheer, etc.

Nothing on the overlay has sound UNTIL I ask the overlay editor to emulate an alert. THEN all of the sound works.

I tested it with all alerts all are muted until I use the emulator. Even when I typed to redeem an alert in chat on Twitch it was muted for store redemptions, but when I asked it to emulate it all of the sudden caused all of the sound to work for everything.

hey staff, i have had an issue with my se mobile app for awhile. I do IRL streams sometimes and have edited my mobile overlay for what i wanted including sounds and things, but I can never get it to work when I stream. It always shows up with "error toggling alert box" whenever I try to turn it on or off. I never changed the name of the overlay in my SE dashboard, so I'm not sure what's wrong...

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

I don‘t want to sound rude but there is something, which really annoys me.
The IRL Stream app from Streamelements is only available for Android, the IOS App was suggested 3 years ago and still nothing has happened.
I would like to hear something, even if its a „Nope, we‘re not gonna do it“ it‘ll be better than not saying anything.
Or give us an update if you‘re going to do it.
On the suggestion page, there are multiple „IOS Stream app“ suggestions unanswered.

Is it possible to switch from PC to Mobile or Mobile to PC without losing the VOD and without the stream ending, there is that blue disconnected buffer screen, but sometimes it resets the VOD? Hello everyone! New here and thought I'd come to the discord for a troubleshooting question. I saw the SE mobile beta application was live on the Google Play Store. Now that I have it I'm curious as to why, when I stream, it doesn't show my screen, only my camera. I thought maybe it's because my camera was on at all but when I mute video, it's just a black screen. Is there something else I'll need to set up in order to do it or is it strictly for IRL streams and not mobile gaming streams?

PRISM Live is an app that allows for the use of browser sources. It's on Android and iOS. You should be able to add the StreamElements overlays via browser source and hear the alerts

Hello, I was using StreamElements app today while streaming from 5g outside, the app seems to completely ignore my streaming settings 1080/60fps and 9k bitrate. it streamed at 720 / 50fps with no bitrate cap often averageing around 13-15k and using a lot more data than I would want. The app also closed itself for no reason after 2 hours. Are these known issues? I'm using a samsung s21 ultra

Is there a way to add browser sources in the SE editor? I'd love a custom browser source so third party widgets can be used for mobile streaming (like SoundAlerts, Throne, etc.) - I haven't been able to find a way, and it might not even be possible, but maybe someone knows a workaround?

Some of my overlay parts work fine. It that alert pop ups don’t work. On an emulated raids I get the emojis explosion and audio but my visuals don’t work. Item redeems work with visuals. The text labels will update with emulation. Progress bars work fine as well.

That's not possible with the mobile app as it's strictly using the camera. You'd need to have something that could trigger an overlay/image that would cover the same way but not sure if it would play nicely with the app.

Feedback regard the app: the camera seems to squish your face when you're holding the phone vertically, if you turn it horizontally your face becomes very long. I've tested the app on two different phones, and there's no issue when using the camera outside of the app. 😃

I just installed the app on my android note 5 and while setting it up i changed the orentation to horizontal and now have none of the go live buttons or anything that was showing before changing that setting. Just downloaded the mobile app on Moto Z² Force. It works perfectly so far. I'm surprised at the lack of features and options though. I thought it was going to have an option for screen capture to broadcast mobile gameplay... Also, my phone has a selfie flash as well as a rear flash. It might be a good idea to put a little code in to check for the presence of a selfie flash.

For what it is everything seems to be working fine, except in horizontal view the "events" view is just above the top of the screen. I can barely see the bottom of the overlay. Just FYI. @rancid anvil I don't see any reason to uninstall the app. It has a very lightweight feel and still offers a way to connect with followers from mobile. Using mobile internet at 4GLte I probably would barely be able to do 1080p even at 4k. I usually have to stream 480p even with a full signal.

okey i started the app and did a test stream with the default alert box. It worked when pressing the test button in the overlay editor. When moving the alert box or adding a static image and restarting the stream it did not updated and didn't do anything any more. No alerts when tested from the editor on stream and no image.

I'm a little disappointed with the lack of some obvious things. Ingest server seems to be auto, so it selects france for me, I live in africa, london or milan are my best servers( or even my local relay servers) but to not be able to choose my own ingest server?

It has nothing to do with a subscription, its a feature of the app called Smart Stream, prevents the stream from dying if connection is lost. Its a limited access feature, so it will not always be active, so if you see it as grey, its not active. There should also be a setting for it in the burger menu, showing if its on or not

If you want fancy stuff as an overlay, you will have to edit this one.

or copy widgets from your other overlays.

Do note that you won't be able to see it on the app, but the viewers will see it.

When I'm streaming with SE Mobile I don't have any donate notifications, because I'm using external donation service, is there a way that I can embed a link in my mobile overlay?

@marble rover depends on how you stream. If you want to keep your connection stable, you need a server with a proper network at home etc.

I can't remember, but the app doesn't ask you for username and password correct?

So try and make sure you are logged into Twitch via your mobile browser and/or the actual twitch app.

Yo I was using stream elements mobile stream app, latest version and I could stream problem is it was using the username before I changed it, viewers could see, I just couldn't see the chat. I logged out to try logging back in and it tells me there is an error and won't log in

I'm having the same problem as above

I cleared cache, data, uninstall reinstall

Switched phones

Won't let me log in

Hope it gets fixed, I was having a blast before I relogged, even got a battery bank and almost a selfie stick/phone tripod for it

@gilded glen after you install the app you will have a new overlay with the word MOBILE in your My Overlays page
You can edit that and it will affect the mobile stream

you can copy widgets to it from other overlays, or create new widgets there
