Hey I’m having a problem with my OBS/Stream elements. I have the music requests running in a dock on my OBS and it plays my desired music on stream in the background, but once I click show the video on my stream it echoes the song on my stream and on my audio. (Also how does the viewer request a song or video? Do they just type the link in my chat?)

"Show on stream" is a trigger to switch from the page/dock to the overlay.

So this is expected, you would need to have the widget in an overlay to see and hear that through your OBS browser sources.

I've been testing on another account, I've just tried to log into my "main" and my chat boxes inside OBS is still sending from my test account if I type into chat. Do I need to create another account for my main on stream elements, and is it easy to import settings from streamelements test account?

So my bot account I used for it's name was banned on bogus "fraud" when the only thing it's done is be used as a name for bots and paid sub to my channel for emotes and the such. I am pending a support case with Twitch....

Anyhow, since that happened OBS.LIVE which used the bot's account cannot unlink or rather link to another account for some reason. It's stuck either using the default StreamElements or My name and I cannot seem to reset the name.

I've done debug mode and used store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration() but it says "VM224:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: store is not defined
at <anonymous>:1:1" and doesn't work to do it either.

I have rebooted, I have set it to default exited, rebooted and still it logs into my new bot account but does not let me see or select it in the drop down name list(it keeps showing "Set custom bot name".

Any ideas?

Set that to StreamElements, log out and log back in (top menu - StreamElements - logout) and then try to switch that to your current main acc or a new bot acc.

@nova scaffold Someone on NoD personally assisted me in getting me setup, it turns out I was going quite an advanced/convoluted route to achieve what I wanted and a couple things on my end apparently aren't behaving as they expected, I haven't achieved what I really wanted but I feel like I'm back on the learning train again instead of banging my head against a brickwall. I would appreciate more advanced tutorials but maybe that's a gap I can fill with my own content when I flesh out my knowledge.

There is no error code, it just asks me to login to the account and I do and then it dumps me back to the same screen as I started on that I can click to log in. I know it's logging in as Twitch keeps emailing me about successful logins.

If you click on "connect custom bot account" you get a new login form

Yes, and as I've said many times now. I've done that. Over and over and over. I've rebooted and I've done that over and over and over. I've logged out of Streamelements in OBS exited, logged back in and tried again over and over and over. I've done all these combinations with reboots and otherwise. Over and over and over. The account does not show up in the list.

It's like it's stuck on the old name/account, cannot use it and has glitched and will not actually allow another to be added or used.

@zenith tendon If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

When I do try it delete the link also when creating a custom command is there a way to add a specific emote as all I can see is add random and when do some are not pictures but instead text names

If you are referring to subscriber emotes, the bot needs to be gifted a sub to that channel.(or yours)
As for links, make sure the bot is modded in your channel

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

By finding out what bitrate, resolution and FPS you want to use and adjusting the encoder settings to meet your quality expectations (if your hardware allows it).

short anwser is streaming at 1080p and 6000 bitrate with 320 audio bitrate, and CPU encoder like x264 < but this is being really "straight to the point" thats a lot of stuff that doesn't make a dif only for pros in analysing imgs n audio. Its more about test some values and find one that match your hardware capacity

"x264 should provide a better looking image depending on what preset your use. NVENC should be used if your CPU can't handle streaming. Though at the end of the day it's up to you." "the NVENC output is arguably somewhere between "veryfast" and "faster" on x264. Unless you have the raw CPU available to do something like "fast", I'd stick to NVENC."

I am using yoink.streamelements.com in a Chrome browser as I am on Mac to enable a custom bot name. As of last week it was connected with no problem at all - if it disconnected, i would reconnect the account with no issue. However yesterday when i tried to reconnect the account, it is sending me in a loop. I click 'Connect bot Account', log into the Bot's twitch account, click authorise, and the popup closes but then nothing happens. I have tried logging out of my primary and bot account, log back in, tried on incognito windows, and this has not been working. Is there something in the backend you guys can help reset this glitch with?

When you emulate a follower for example. And you have different alerts, so its random. Sometimes the alert on the streamelements website is different then on OBS. Is this a know issue?

Is there a possibility to create custom scene changes from or to a specific scene? I know, that I can change it for any scene in particular, but here is an example:
Start screen -> Cam 1 = Stinger long
Cam 1 -> Cam 2 = Stinger short
Cam 2 -> Cam 1 = Stinger short
Cam 1 -> zoomed Cam 1 = cut
zoomed Cam 1 -> Cam 1 = cut

As I understand it now, I would have to duplicate Cam 1 three times, for having all the different change-types I want, right? In SLOBS you can set specific blends from Scene X to Scene Y, so I would only have the Scene "Cam1" only one time, but depending on from which scene I come, it would choose the correct blending.

I am using yoink.streamelements.com in a Chrome browser as I am on Mac to enable a custom bot name. As of last week it was connected with no problem at all - if it disconnected, i would reconnect the account with no issue. However yesterday when i tried to reconnect the account, it is sending me in a loop. I click 'Connect bot Account', log into the Bot's twitch account, click authorise, and the popup closes but then nothing happens. I have tried logging out of my primary and bot account, log back in, tried on incognito windows, and this has not been working. Is there something in the backend you guys can help reset this glitch with?

@wraith wyvern Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

4. Start OBS.Live
5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

I setup obs.live to stream to facebook. i since decided to switch to twitch and try it over there. I removed the stream keys from facebook in the settings, attached my twitch account. tried to start stream. it still brings up the "start live facebook stream" window to start streaming there.. i go back into settings, the facebook stream keys have returned.

@steep plank If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello, i dont know if this is right place to ask, but, i dont want to use the obs.live plugin for the media reguest. I want to use the ground control because then i have more control over where audio goes, but the ground control is just showing blank blue screen on media reguest page. and its showing some errors sometimes when i open the app. something about "window.heap.load is not function". it goes away when i press connect to twitch couple times. i refreshed the jwt token too if that was the case but it wasnt

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

The Layout I took from Streamelements does not allow me to capture my screen as in allowing me to not stream the game I want. But then I click 'Display Capture' it shows what i want to capture but the layout won't do the same

I don't know what to say @long bobcat ... it's not responding to commands. Even if I remove the custom bot, and go back to SE ... nothing. They report for duty, but don't respond to commands.

Is the custom bot feature on? If so, turn that off (revert back to StreamElements bot name) and test.

The overlay is a browser source, is has nothing to do with your capture at all.

You need to add game capture or window or display capture and set it below the overlay.

I've done that too -- several times. 🙂 Even told it to leave and re-join after removing the custom bot -- I'm fine at this point just getting the normal SE bot to repond to the commands and ditch the custom bot.

@rugged quail Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.
