Hi, I'm having some trouble with frames dropping in the application when streaming. It's been going on for a while but has gotten way worse within the last few days. I've reduced the bitrate, as well as the output resolution and I'm being met with the same results. My twitch stream disconnected the other night and the dropped frames became consistent. Is it possible that I'm dealing with a network issue? I'm, also, streaming from a standard PC and not a gaming desktop, if that helps. Thanks!

@desert yoke 10 minutes of watch time is given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled to watch time to work properly.
There is no direct link between watch time and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the number of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in the chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user do not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

If you are logged in with Twitch, the overlay is for Twitch.
If you are logged in with Facebook, the overlay is for Facebook.
Overlays cannot be made to work with both simultaneously.

@full thunder I was having an issue yesterday where my subcount was showing up at 0 when it was actually 540. Today its showing 576 when my subcount is actually 576. The Import From Other Channels button works the same way, in reverse. You use it from the Twitch channel to get the overlay from the Facebook channel.

Ok so for the past like week all my streams on all my platforms have been dropping left and right! My internet has not changed, I have tested it multiple times as well and my upload speed is still 20mbs. I've tried a different server, i've tried dynamic bitrate, i've lower the quality of my streams, I've even turned off advanced mode... My frames keep dropping now and it causes my streams to end and I don't know how to fix it! Updates are all done and modem has been reset as well, any ideas?? I was able to run 1080p 60fps just fine literally like 2 weeks ago..

  • Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member

Good day everyone I new here so forgive me if I'm in the wrong channel. I would like to transition to OBS live for live streaming (to twitch).

For the most part all of my scenes have been exported, but my alerts I set up through streamlabs has now (which I expected). However I'd like to keep those alerts but for OBS streamelements/OBSlive.

Would any of you know how to go about doing that? Does OBS live have a built in aspect that allows for alerts or would they have to be set up via a browser source?

Hey! I also need some help with OBS Live. After researching and swapping from StreamLabs to Streamelements with OBS Live and implementing a new alert system using streamelements I'm noticing a significant increase in CPU usage to the point of freezing frames and in game lowered FPS
It is much more CPU intensive than the GIFs in Streamlabs alerts is it because WEBM is just really CPU intensive?
How do I fix that?

I'm using an AMD Ryzen 5 3500
CPU usage has generally not been an issue until after I started using streamelement alerts.
My CPU normally sits at 40-50% with OBS Live open. Whenever I trigger an alert tho, it goes to 90% with no game open. You can imagine what it looks like when I am playing my game

Hi is there a reason why OBS live should be dropping from 60 to 29 fps while just recording gaming footage... also i had this issue with my live stream last week to a point that OBS was running so badly that it was stuttering my stream... first time this has happened to me since i started using this software.. .
Also this has happened to a few friends of mine and we cant figure it out and to top it all off..
I re-installed OBSlive from streamelements website that solved the issue for a few days and im back to running obslive with fps dropping every few seconds

Why is my preview extremely laggy? ALmost like a slide show. This just started happening today, everything was fine yesterday. It happens when im streaming and when im not. The odd thing is, my mouse isnt laggy only the game and web pages, also I have an emulator and that doesnt lag in preview either, so whats the deal?

Hi there guys! I don't know what's exactly happening with my thing but I'm getting dropped frames like crazy, the speed is even getting lower to 300kbps sometimes. My internet seems to be good so far, I have 12MB upload and I used to stream without issues until Tuesday that is. Tried reinstalling, tried many output settings but no changes. Can someone help me with a delay issue im having? I use Streamelements to show my alerts. in SLOBS the alerts show perfectly fine, but in OBS classic my alerts are incredibly delayed (ironically, I can still hear the audio for the alearts though about 30 seconds before the delayed alert pops up).

For those who have issues with frame rates drops since the last update, I have reinstall obs with the link of their sites, they ask if I want to install obs live add, I cliked yes...Then when I open OBS it ask for the last update of OBS, I clicked "ignore" and i'm now running with the old version and everything is good 🙂

Additionally, they have no plans on allowing OBS in trusted mode.

You will need to run the game in either windowed or borderless fullscreen and use Window Capture instead.

@mental tendon If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I have this issue where my youtube alerts wont show up live. The test alert shows up fine in obs but when i actually go live they don't show up, instead obs shows suscribers from 4 to 5 hours ago.
Facebook works fine for me, the alerts show up instantly. But youtube has a 4 to 5 hour delay.

Go to C:\Program Files\obs-studio\data\obs-studio\themes, open the Acri.qss file and change line 44 that says font-size: 12px; to something bigger like 14px. Then save the file, go into OBS -> Settings -> Choose another theme and switch back to Acri

Hi. So I've got some stuttering with some overlays. It's not that the gameplay or my stream stutters, but only the text overlay. Especially with names that are gliding through the screen. @tidal escarp That's usually caused by CPU or GPU overload.
Start OBS as admin and keep an eye on task manager the next time you stream. If you see that your GPU is nearly maxed out, limit your game's FPS by enabling VSync or reducing the graphics settings.

@rugged quail Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

So I made this mistake on streamelements.com. I accidentally claimed my YouTube channel as its own independent channel and THEN noticed that I can add my YouTube Channel to my already created Twitch account. Is there a way you can unclaim my YouTube channel so I can add it to my My Channels of my already created streamelements accout?

Steps to make a command trigger sound on stream:

  1. Go to Stream Store page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/store/items
  2. Add an item that has these settings on it:
  • Stream Perk
  • Loyalty settings to your desire
  • (Next step) Add contents (image and/or sound you want to play)
  • "Redeeming this item shows an alert
  • Redemable via chat
  • Skip Requirements
  1. Get the item name/command from the 2nd creation page
  2. Go to commands page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot/commands/custom
  3. Add command with desired name and have response for command as: ${redeem item_name_here}
  4. Go to your overlays and edit the overlay you use.
  5. Click on "widgets" and add "Store redemptions" widget. Click save and you should be golden.
  6. Test your own command in chat and have OBS or editor open to hear sound

Is there a bug with enabling the custom bot name within the latest live patch? I can't seem to trigger the "send test message" button even after I do everything in the pinned video. I've even made the "bot" account a super moderator.

I still get nothing after logging into the account. Like, the drop down menu where the options are "Streamelements, Twitch user namer, or custom bot name", I don't get the actual name of the bot name to appear.

Does anyone know?

@swift nymph If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Im using a GOXLR to route all my sounds through, im using a custom made stinger scene transition, idk if its because of that tho. My sampling speed in obs is 48 khz and my channel is stereo. Its not every time i shift a scene but sometimes and its driving me insane

When I stream and someone requests a song, I have to hit play when the video comes up. It plays the music but as soon as I click show on stream (chat wants the video on stream) the sound stops for both me and the stream and all we see is the video.

A little different with sound files, when someone types a command to play the sound, the chat hears it but I don't.
It is complicated but I think it has all to do with my mixer settings in OBS

So about 2 weeks ago and my breaker tripped twice while I was recording and playing fortnite. There was about 10 minuets in between then and ever since then any time I open OBS LIVE (as admin, or not) it makes both my screens go black for 5 seconds, closes everything that I had open except for OBS, and makes my CPU usage go from 20% to 100% in a second, then it goes back down. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled OBS and OBS LIVE and I still have the same issue. Please @ me.

Help! I am just trying to create a basic transition, luma wipe, fade, whatever. When I click the transitions tab, choose my desired image and press okay, then hit my numlock assigned for transition, it doesnt work. It basically only does this kind of glitchy change of scene which looks awful. I've watched videos and have mimicked everything so I am at a loss as to what could be wrong. Hi, after the latest update, my OBS is using too much CPU.. Right now while I'm not streaming and recording, it's using 45% of my CPU, used to lie around 10-15%. This is causing my computer to lag like crazy, and I can play while streaming.. Anyone got a fix for this?

When OBS Studio had an update last week, I of course got an obs.live update with it. Since then, I've been unable to properly use my chat window. I have to click in the chat box twice for it to activate, then it continually shifts and becomes larger when I type. I've noticed I've also not been able to easily copy text from chat either, which started at the same time. I've attached a gif showcasing this behaviour.

Slightly unrelated, but the large border around the window began with this same update. Really takes away from the crisp appearance it had before.

@native owl If you are not seeing likes/shares on your current stream or page, that might be due to how the privacy settings of the person liking/sharing your stream are set.
If they are set to private we won't be able to see the events.
Specifically for shares, if they share in private groups, we won't be able to see the event.

Hey guys. I am not sure if I am right here but I have a problem regarding alerts. I tried to fix it on May own but I don't get it fixed. I created an Overlay for alerts on the stream elements website and used the url of the Overlay to put it on OBS live. Unfortunately, only the FOLLOWER alert works. The raid and host alerts doesn't. You know what's the reason or how I can solve that?

@elder mulch "Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

  • All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
  • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these."

I have had problems with adding a custom bot for so long now. It takes me through the entire login process, succeds, but then returns me to "connect custom bot" - and I even get a mail from twitch, that it was a successful login. Doesn't work though. How do I fix this?

@open cairn To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible. https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4

Go into Task Manager and make sure there are no OBS processes running. You may also want to try restarting your computer and re-running the update

Anybody got a quick fix for the custom bot name(trying to use my own name) not working? The bot just stops working if I choose my own name

so its kinda lengthy if anyone can help. I have a scene setup called popups. I put that scene as a source in my Live scene so that when I use my streamdeck it will pop up. Before I was using SLOBS i could switch between scenes(ie. brb scene back to live scene) with out popup souce needing to load again. Now when i switch between scenes the popup scene gets activated everytime. does anyone know how to stop this from happening... essentially i want pop up scene as a source on my live scene with out poping up every time I go in and out of live scene

@mint owl If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Can someone help me..?? currently trying to upload a sound I have saved as an mp3 file to use as an alert sound and it starts to upload, the stops and saying “failed while uploading file”... I’ve tried using another sound from the same source. drag and drop. nothing works. not sure what’s going on :/

So I recently updated my Obs.live on the stream pc and everything was fine and smooth yesterday and now I can't have any of my effects go off without lagging out the stream with encoder lag. Anyone know why this might be? Thinking I might have to uninstall obs.live if I can't fix it

Not sure if I should post it here or in the twitch helpdesk section, but I'll start here.

I'm looking into this for a friend that streams: I'm trying to find a countdown/timer command that will allows someone to set a timer for whatever amount of time they input. After the time has expired, either a message will automatically appear in the chat OR it show on her stream.

I have found a Nightbot commands that does almost all of that, but does not offer any sort of notification that time has expired. The only option is to check the time remaining with a command, which does keep track, but has to be checked to see if time expires.

Hoping to find something that is toggled by a command, so that rather than her having to start the timer herself, the mods will be able to start it. Just want it to actually have a notification of the timer expiring.

Sorry if this has been asked before and I'm either beating a dead horse or the answer has been posted multiple time, but when I was researching it, I only came across the nightbot command after looking for 20-30 minutes. Feel free to message me directly, although I am heading to bed shortly. Just wanted to get the ball rolling so that hopefully when I wake up/tomorrow when she starts streaming, I'm able to help.
