Can someone explain. Why my chat bot isnt working after downloading the obs live plugin ?

@dense blade If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@stone canopy To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible. https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4

Good night everyone. I keep having black screen when I put Browser Source option. I made an overlay with alertbox in streamelements and i cant put it on in my obs. Neither the background and the alertbox are showing up. The sounds of the notifications (following, subscribing) are perfectly fine, but the image does not show. I already made several attempts to fix it, like the hardware stuff, deactivating the nvidia automatic reproduction, intel graphic settings, w7 compatibility, open as an administrator. I uninstalled, I deleted cache/user files, I also formated my pc. Can anyone help me? Im already 5 days without streaming because of this.. i went to OBS support and as the browser source shows up with the normal url from the obs, they sent me here..

@brittle tapir The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

Well the font size is going to change the chat it self, but not the stuff around the chat like the leaderboard

Plus the chat dock is the actual version from Twitch - the only difference is that BTTV and FFZ is forced on it.

I need help! I'm new to streaming, trying to jump in and see how much fun I can have. Having issues though. When I'm live, my stream is jumpy, and will pause and start so much that it can be upwards of 2 minutes behind my actual gameplay (I know there is a delay normally, but nothing that bad). While I'm noticing the issues while they are happening, OBS is showing that the encoder is overloaded and to change settings. Any advice on how to change things up to see if I can fix this?

ya thanks anyway. I had a similar problem with destiny 2 but apparently the new update at that point in time wasn't compatible. that might just be the case with the shaders I have installed

@gaunt flame If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have OBS.Live installed, please follow these steps:

Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of OBS.Live
Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
Start OBS.Live
Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

Heya guys! ✨ I'm having problems streaming Cyberpunk! 🥺
Like, the stream and the game itself doesn't have problems (also when I just play it, it's ok!). The problem happens when I only stream it!
When I stream Cyberpunk, sometimes the add-ons goes completely white and when I alt+tab to check obs, they go back to normal. It also happens that I don't receive the messages in chat in real time and when I alt+tab again, I receive all of them.
Someone can help or had my same problems? ;w;

Question: I have been streaming on Twitch using OBS (ofc) and a set of overlays that are on my TWITCH CHANNEL in streamelements. I am switching to YT Stream and wanted to know if I need to duplicate web browser overlays over to the YT CHANNEL in Streamelements? Or I don't need to since they are all on my OBS software?
Yes, both the YT and Twitch channels are merged under one Streamelements account.

hello...not sure if i posted this in the correct place and I apologise if i have, guidance is welcomed. I am wanting to put a counter/ widget on my stream on Twitch showing the amount of live viewers in the channel, is this possible? hi, i installed obs.live and first selected YouTube, but i have since decided i want to go back to twitch. In the widget settings. I have linked my twitch account without issue and have changed the stream settings in OBS to twitch, but when i click start streaming, OBS.live pops up a window to stream to YouTube. I have already completely uninstalled obs.live and re-installed it, but the issue persists. is there a hidden setting/config file that i need to remove?

So, I don't know if it's related to Twitch updates or what. I updated OBS Live and now badges next to people's names are increased in size and the text is smaller. The proportions of the text to badges is really off. When I use the chat settings to change it, it still looks out of proportion. Anyone else experiencing this? Any fix for it?

@nocturne moss If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

I want to make my activity feed an entire column, but apparently that isn't possible in OBS. Alternatively, I want to get rid of the 'pending tips' and that weird massive gap so that I can actually read messages in the feed. Can anything be fixed here or am I stuck with this constrained view?

Does anyone know why setting an asset in the Overlay Editor to 1920x1080 doesnt just make it the size of the overlay? Like, the widget added is but any assets placed inside of the widget are not scaled correctly.

I am having an issue with games suffering from frame drops just from opening OBS.live to stream. I'm not even hitting start stream yet, just the act of launching OBS causes my games to frame drop. I am running OBS as admin. I notice that just having OBS.live running, it is using 20-25% of my GPU avg at 22% consistent.

I disabled the setting noted in the report, I also re-enabled Game bar as noted too. I did see a slight bit of an improvement on my fps in game, so it did seem to help some. I also went in and consolidated some of my overlays into one browser source to cut down on the amount of those being used as well. went from getting 45-50 fps to now getting 65-75. Still not where I was prior to 12/9 when I was getting a consistent 100fps in my game, but I will take this as a win. Unfortunately I don't have the log file for those dates to compare. I want to use a custom twitch server, because the one located in my city isn't selectable from the dropdown by default.
Twitch lists the url as rtmp://live-slc.twitch.tv/app/{stream_key} but OBS still has a "Stream Key" field. Is OBS actually smart enough to interpolate this key into my URL? Or can I basically just leave the "Stream Key" blank, and just edit my URL. Replacing the {stream_key} part with my actual stream key?

@void cairn Valve has implemented a trusted mode which does not allow OBS to hook CS:GO using Game Capture. Read more in their announcement post here https://blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/2020/07/30736/.

Additionally, they have no plans on allowing OBS in trusted mode.

You will need to run the game in either windowed or borderless fullscreen and use Window Capture instead.

Can somebody explain to me why the green shape incl the biterate is still active after i ended my stream ? Even the Twitch Stats shows 0 viewers in red. Stream is 100% offline.

I asked this question in the OBS discord but they had no clue.

So far so good. Un-installed obs.live problem was gone. Installed obs.live again and the problem was still gone.
That is bugging me, because now i will never find out where or what the problem was. 🤔 😔

Good morning, beutiful people.
I'd really appreciate some assistance with my bots, if anyone can help me. I recently changed the name on my twich account and that seems to be generating issues with my comands. Last time I only had to select 'StreamElements' as the name of my bot and that was it, but this time I've even reinstalled OBS Live and I'm still unable to make it work. :tired_face:

Hi guys, was wondering if someone could help me with this 🙂 I'm just looking at Streamelements at the moment, as I was using Streamlabs before. I was able to import my alerts etc over. However, Streamelements doesn't recognise that I already have subs and so in the subs part of the overlay, it is just blank. Is there a way to fix this that I'm missing? Thanks!

Hello. I am trying to find a way to control what the viewers can hear when I am playing PC/Xbox cross plat games when I am streaming from my PC. I want to put music on and have them not hear the "xbox party chat" but still hear the game(usually there is a button for that when streaming from Xbox but not from PC) . IDK if that makes sense. OBS doesn't have those options. I tried VoceMeeter but it screwed with some other audio setting I have for other applications like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

@honest sparrow if browser is your overlay what is it set to, an overlay? usually you want that down to the bottom, then you want to put whatever capture above that. try toggling eye beside browser off

I'm having an issue with animations in an overlay with a custom widget I'm trying to make, based off of the default custom widget. Scouring OBS logs, an exception is raised and output from obs-browser:
<redacted>: obs-browser[1]: Uncaught NotSupportedError: Failed to execute 'animate' on 'Element': Partial keyframes are not supported. (source: about:srcdoc:392)
I'm not sure that the issue is with obs-browser as much as it is with the overlay when used as a browser source in OBS, since adding the widget from a local copy used as a mock for testing appears just fine and the widget works as intended.

Good evening! I posted already in helpdesk-twitch and I just noticed this channel is for obs live.
I'm having issues with white panels. First my activity feed and chat turned white.
I logged out and now I cannot log back in. StreamElements -> Login flashesh the top panel and that is it.
Settings -> Stream -> Connect Account opens a pane that is also all white.
I have deleted obs_profile_cookies directory and still have issues.

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Hi there, trying to sort out my overlays and alerts to suit a new design and run into a couple of issues. I tried to update the font and text colour of my follow/sub/raid alerts on the dashboard website and I clicked save and recopied the URLs into OBS but the fonts and colours aren't updating. They are showing as correct in the settings bar, but not in the previews even though I've saved it multiple times and come in and out of it. Why won't they update/why are they showing the wrong things even though the settings say otherwise?
I also now have an issue with the streamelements addon to OBS in that I thought if I logged out and back in it would sort out the alert issue above, however, now my stuff is just white and will not load whatsoever! What is going on? Why is nothing working? Have I broken this?

Please help I'm meant to be going live in an hour! 😦

Custom Fonts

Steps:

Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
Click on Enable Custom Font
Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

The import can fail or stall if you are trying to:

import media files added as source, which are bigger then 30mb
assets that are copyrighted to Streamlabs
generally big assets

The font and colour is working on my raid alert, I changed this a few days ago, but now I'm trying to update the sub and follower alerts and they're showing the brown colour and woodland font I want in the settings but not when I emulate them. It doesn't make any sense

I have a problem I see other have had in the past. I imported tips from SLOBS and I think I must have synced it a few too many times because my top tippers is wrong by about 5x. I have deleted all of the duplicated entries that I can find but I can not for the life of me find a spot for it to recalculate.

you would have to moderate the streamlabs bot so that it can detect the event and pass the information to streamlabs alert box. the best practice is to use one or the other, and not both as they are known to cause issues with each other
