Pretty new to using the stream store for streamelements, is there a less cluncky way to redeem things people have claimed from the store without keeping a second window open? Trying to avoid the sound effect option even though it can automatically redeem since some of my perks have gifs and those won't pop up with sound effect.

Like is there a way to set a command or is the best way to set a custom browser dock in OBS for redemptions (wasn't sure if there's already a dock made for that)

@honest echo is there a chance you could help me reset my bot name? I know how to set a custom bot name, not how to change it or reset it afterwards. I accidentally set the custom name to my own, so my options are streamelements and then two versions of my own name. I don't know how to set a new custom name there isn't an option anymore.

@wary gazelle "1) Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut and open the Properties
2) In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404
3) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4) Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5) Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6) Navigate to the Console tab
7) Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8) Try setting the custom bot name
9) Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties."

Hey there, so I’ve been using OBS live for a few months now and it’s worked well. But today, every time I started my stream, it would instantly drop frames. I tried all the tips to prevent frames dropping and they didn’t work. I even streamed on Streamlabs OBS and it worked fine there. So, I’m not sure what the problem is. 🤔

So this is more of a thought (will probably paste it in the ideas), but I wanna know if it is even technically possible.
Would it technically be possible to make it so you can switch the OBS.Live's connection between different platfoms with a profile switch of sorts, as to save time for people that stream on different platfoms throught the week?

Basically so I don't have to re-log in and swap my streamkey each time I switch between platforms.

Hi guys, don't know if this is the correct channel to post this question, but I the Streamelements bot is not working on the channel anymore, I have removed the bot and re-added it making sure that is has mod privileges but it still does not work when using any of the enabled or custom commands.

@floral nimbus If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

So I've never really had this problem and I don't know why it keeps happening. I was just streaming and it was fine for about an hour or so and now my frames dropped. I haven't had this issue up until now.

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

Hello I hope you understand what my problem is an. I stream with obs. Live and want to involve 3 audio inputs separately. One is my game sound, the 2. my background Musik and my 3. should be my voice chat like discord and TeamSpeak. My problem is I can't involve the 3. Audio because obs don't show me the right source. I'm using voicemeter potato an VB cable but it looks like I'm to stupid to set everything correctly. The Musik and game sound working very good but in the moment I separate the voice chat off my game sound I'm stuck.. And not even my step sis can help me...

I'm having an issue atm with my variation sounds on OBS. They work when i play them in streamelements editor but when i play them on OBS i get no sound but the desktop audio is moving so it is recognising a sound but isn't playing it for me on OBS. It was working just a few days ago. Does anybody know what this could be? thank u! It is only with the variations btw, follower alerts ect work fine!

I am trying to connect my bot account to OBS.Live. I have done this in the past and had some issues, but today i had to reset my password and now i can't get it to connect again. When I click on "Connect Custom Bot Account" it will have me log into the bot again as usual, but after I click "Authorize" to allow StreamElements to connect to the account, nothing happens except I get an email saying the login was successful. I cannot send a test message after authorizing.

@autumn wharf If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I have a recent bug that causes OBS to crash constantly, I have to quickly switch to normal OBS before it crashes and then log back in next time to fix it. But it happens every time.

I'm having an issue atm with my variation sounds on OBS. They work when i play them in streamelements editor but when i play them on OBS i get no sound but the desktop audio is moving so it is recognising a sound but isn't playing it for me on OBS. It was working just a few days ago. Does anybody know what this could be? thank u! It is only with the variations btw, follower alerts ect work fine!

@gloomy scroll If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Yes, you get invited as an editor to your friend's accout(or whom ever you want to give the overlay to) and then you can duplicate the overlay from your account to theirs

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

My custom bot no longer works. When I switch back to bot name 'StreamElements' it works just fine. I use OBS.Live, SE is added and modded and I have SE Tip page working.

@stuck maple If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

This doesn't help me, Ive done this but it isn't working now and I can't just press a rewind button or restart, everytime I remove it and add it again with 1920 1080 it does the same thing

My overlays are slow to load. When I change scenes, my game and camera load in right away, then the overlay loads in a few seconds later. I switched from animated to static thinking that may have been the problem, but it does the same thing. Is there a setting I can fix to make sure everything loads in altogether?

I see you're using Nerd or Die alerts. You will need to contact them, as they're the ones who coded the alerts.

I have since streamed on YouTube but wish to go back to using it for Twitch

However when I try to go live now with all of the settings tuned back for Twitch, it tries to go live on YouTube, even though I have disconnected my YouTube account

@scarlet nacelle If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Hello! I have tried to adjust the Standard sentence in the module section when people follow, sub, etc... . The thing i tried was to put my emote in it by copy pasting the emote code a few times but when it is getting triggered it shows the word instead of the actual emote. Someone that can help me ?

hello everyone,
i have some video files as seperate scenes, that i use for showing them on-stream (think of it like an ad playing).
The thing is: i found a stinger-transition i would like to use. If i enable the transition, the video auto-starts instantly on scene-change. I would like to delay the start of the playback to the point, when the transition finished (the transition is exactly 1 second long).
Is this possible to do?

I did reconfigure the audio monitoring device even though it was already the same so maybe that had an effect, who knows if some ID referencing the device behind the scenes changed or whatever. Then i restarted streamelements OBS and it was working

@full thunder ok i tried that, both in browser and OBS StreamElements, it shows SE is moderator, bot is active and chats enabled. commands work on the SE website where i stream but on twitch the commands don not work, nor on OBS streaming interface.

That is just an embedded chat on that website if it is working there, then it also should work in a normal twitch window and in OBS.Live. Make sure you relog via StreamElements > Log out and log back in in OBS.Live.

Custom Fonts

Steps:

Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
Click on Enable Custom Font
Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Is there anything else that could be causing the delay because when I use the transition in studio mode it will show the overlay for a second then go to a black screen for a few and then back to the actual scene...

Never mind, I fixed it! I just needed to turn off the option to refresh the browser whenever I loaded a scene and also turn off the option to shutdown when not visible and now I have smooth scene transitions- just in case anyone else has the same issue 🙂

Custom chat bot name help please: Ok so I have looked everywhere and watched the video in the learn more of the Custom bot name set up. I have set up the three requirements needed but I do not have the option that is shown in the video to make a custom bot name. Help please, I am at a complete loss. Hi guys,
I had two months off of streaming and throughout my return I want to change some things up - specifically channel points.
I want viewers to be able to interact with me through spending them. Hello, i'm having some issues with the website. Whenever i create a blank overlay, rename it, insert a widget, save and exit, i cannot edit it later. The page loads forever and doesn't allow me to edit it.
Also, when i create an overlay and add it to obs.live as a web source, it stops showing after a while. I can hear the sounds of the alerts, but the alert box disappeared.
I've tried to reload everything, reinstall the program, etc... But looks like it's something with the website or between the website and my account.

Its looking for login details stored in the OBS stored cookie

which apparently got cleared at some point

so now its asking you to login

#

but the activity feed is not meant to be used as a login process so it defaults to the Twitch login

It needs to know before hand what type of account it is from.

The custom browser dock saves its own cookie.
That cookie is now missing or refreshed, hence its not storing any login details
The activity feed requires a logged in account
Since there is no logged in account, by default it thinks you need to login with your twitch account

#

Solutions:

Don't use the custom browser dock, but you can still pop out the activity feed window from the dashboard, to keep its login information set properly
Install OBS.Live

That being said, will my twitch statistics still be updated in StreamElements even if i do not use obslive to broadcast? I like the overlay creator in streamelements but would like to continue using slobs to stream

This is not the problem at all, like i said before, i cannot edit my alertbox on the website. The page loads forever...
If i create a blank overlay with an alertbox and keep the page running, the alerts work fine in obs.live, but as soon as i leave the page back to my dashboard, the alerts stop working.

Hey everyone! I'm making my notifications and my chosen Font doesn't carry over to OBS.
I've selected DM Sans, for example, and saved but when I fire an example Follow, it shows a completely different font

@astral current On the page that gives an error, press F12 to open Developer Tools. Navigate to Network at the top and then Select XHR in the filter section. Try the action again that gave the error and note in the network tab any red text. Please copy and paste the error information that is given when clicking on this red text.

Is there any reason to run OBS at 25fps (I have one main cam that sends @ 25fps and two webcams that are 30fps but can be set to 25 I believe) since when I check the recorded live stream on youtube, it's at 30fps ?!

Ie would I benifit somehow by running OBS at 30fps also, even though one cam only sends 25fps=? (it's run though an avermedia pcie capture card)

For Prime Gaming, the user needs to have sharing enabled on https://www.twitch.tv/settings/prime. hello! everytime i have an alert go off obs instantly kills my audio input for my mics. the only way i’ve been able to fix it is by either restarting obs or by deleting and recreating the audio input source in obs.

Hi everyone. I'm trying to setup my alert box for OBS.Live but I found a very strange bug. After I have changed most of my alert i was trying to make all of them of the same color. For 2 i do it easily without any problem but for the other i can't do the same.

I follow the same procedure but everytime i try i get the same base color even after saving and when i reload the dashboard i found that the new color isn't saved. The point is that every other modification work just fine. Anyone could help me?

I have had some issues with hosts from my viewers now being showed on my activity feed. They do show up when I’m being raided from another streamer but not the small hosts the size of a auto host. Any suggestions what I should try to make every host show up? 🙂

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these."

@pliant tree If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello! For some reason-- out of nowhere, the sound from media share mutes, as soon as I click "show on stream."

When I click "stop showing on stream" the sound returns.
Can anyone help me with this issue? 😦

@quaint skiff You have to add the media request widget to your overlay otherwise when you hit show on stream it will go to nothing and you wont hear or see anything on your obs until you hit don't show on stream

Like I said, out of nowhere, when I click "show on stream" it goes silent, for no apparent reason.

I went ahead and created a new media share widget and this new one actually works! 😄 I don't know what happened to my other widget, but its all bugged out.

@quasi plover Account Merging - Please note:

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member

I am trying to sign out of my obs.live and sign my husband in so he can stream but it's only partly logging me out. So it shows his chat and twitch activity (followers etc.) But the actual gameplay screen and stream goes to my account even though I logged out and logged him in!

@bitter sun The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

@rugged quail To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible. https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4
