If you're experiencing sound volume reduction when OBS is opened, try checking the "Disable Windows audio ducking" option in Settings -> Advanced in OBS. Then restart OBS to see if the issue is resolved.

Hello! People have started telling me that my stream starts to lag sometimes, only the video, not the audio. My internet is fine and I´ve seen a little notification pop up about an encoding overload? I thouight it was really weird bc that never happened to me before and I usually play the same game. I turned down the games graphics settings and then it was mostly, but not always ok. Any idea why this could happen so suddenly?

Is there really no way to have Display Capture and Game capture in the same scene? I usually watch videos with people while queueing up for games and have a little window showing the queue time which is very practical, so I´d hate to get rid of that and other scenes like that

at 8 mbs up and your using 3 of it for video audio and maybe 1 of it to send game data to server and maybe another 3 for all the other devices in house that means something has to give a little if our overlays are also keeping "heartbeat" ping to server alive
try the shutdown source when not visible and also try a different ingest server | obs>settings>stream

hi all - I've been banging my head on this one for over an hour. That tells me I'm probably missing something SUPER simple. I can't figure out how to get my BTTV emotes to show in the chat box in the Stream Elements overlay. The regular twitch emotes show up, the FrankenFace emotes show up, but not the BTTV ones. For reference, the BTTV ones DO show up in OBS chat, and they do show up in twitch chat in the chrome browser. So I will type in - for example- Clap, to the OBS stream chat. In that same chat window it converts to clapping hands (the BTTV emote). But when I look at the overlay (either via the Stream Elements website overlay editor OR previewing in my OBS), it just shows up as Clap. In contrast, CatBag (a Frankenemote), converts to the kitty in both the OBS chat and the overlay. What am I missing?

The gray/pink screenshot is what I see in the StreamElements overlay. (EDITED, sorry, I mistyped Streamlabs multiple times in the original. I'm using StreamElements and OBSLive)

I want to import from SLOBS to elements and the importer stops here all the time and never finishes. I tried the chrome extension too and no luck there.

Usually there are several things that can go cause the import not finishing:
- Copyrighted assets (the default ones from SLOBS)
- custom coded widgets that are really big(the code is really long and big)
- Assets over 10MB

Hello a month ago i reported an issue with obslive. I had the streamelements tabs becoming blurry and distorted. i reintstalled all the drivers eand everything was fixed. today i realized that the problem wasn't from the graphic drivers but the issue was cause by the sharpening setting on the nvidia setting. if you turn on the sharpening the streamelements overlay does't work. just to let you know that there is this problem.

I removed the game capture and ran obs in admin mode. Unfortunately the alert is still laggy. My cpu load with obs studio and some games I play is quite high but it seems the alerts use a surprisingly large amount of cpu.
Unfortunately I am unable to hard wire my internet at the moment but the alerts are laggy even when I test off stream while running a game.
Thank you for the help so far with the couple mistakes I was doing such as display and game capture in the same source.

I didn't realize it was doubling up when testing the alerts.
When I closed chrome immediately after hitting an alert test button, it seemed to reduce the usage noticeably.

It seems the default alerts are alright now that i'm not testing in chrome, just my full screen alert is a bit laggy but better than it was before. I also set the base and output resolution to 1280x720 which a friend recommended for performance.

Chat in your overlays = You need different chat widgets for that. Having multiple chats in one widget, not possible

I seem to be having audio issues, I am using an Elgato HD60s to my PS4 and the audio is not being captured on OBSlive. I went and tested it on both the elgato software and StreamLabs OBS and it is able to capture the PS4 audio so I'm not sure where the issue would come from?

I am trying to stream games (mainly Roblox) without much running in background or lag or anything else, yet every 10 minutes my game crashes. This could just be some simple dumb thing like it can't handle all that processing, but it's happened 3 times now.

HELP! ok so I just made the switch today to stream elements and obs, I have had stream elements in the past but never really used it. I mod and manage for another streamer, he doesnt have elements, but all my data is coming from him and its mixing with mine. how do stop this!

welp, its happening to me, i havent streamed in two weeks, all of his recent donos, follows, etc alerts are coming from him, even in my overlays, I have only been tipped $15 since I started streaming, but its showing his tips of over $200
my obs launcher has different alerts in teh box than my stream launcher
and teh website is all over the place with different info

I just updated to the new OBS.Live. I like the new Activity Feed and Media Request integration. I run my stream audio through a different device than my Default, and while looking for such an option I now realize my overlay sound is being sent directly (hard-coded) to the Default device. This is despite running a Chrome tab that is specifically set to play through a separate audio device. Is there a way to change the audio device for these StreamElement features?

It's not an OBS issue. It's only the StreamElements features, they seem to be hard coded to use the Default audio device with no apparent way to change that.

@dusky copper If your browser source is running through a different audio source than the "default", then you'd need to ask in the OBS discord how to configure your system to handle that.

I've been running StreamElements on a Chrome tab that is specifically configured to exactly that. The audio goes to the Default device regardless.
I use a Chrome extension to do this and it works, with YouTube videos for instance. Overlay sounds are playing through the Default audio device despite this.

what do you mean by 'audio settings for apps'? ground control doesn't have this option. i can route Chrome audio, but StreamElements doesn't utilize this routing, as if the output is hard coded to the Default device.
so i basically have two issues, we can focus on the first and forget the integrated docks.

thought this is not an ideal solution, i'll check with the OBS discord on how to alter the audio output for a Browser Source

so I have a virtual audio device setup which I use only for audio I want heard on stream.
its works, i just never realized that the overlay sounds were not being directed properly. i could hear them myself because I listen to the Default device which monitors that other audio device.

So your issue is that you're using something like VoiceMeeter to route your audio and what you need is to work with the devs of your virtual audio device to figure out how to route it

I do this so stream never heard any windows sound fx like errors, and I can listen to anthing else for myself like a Discord call or Chrome tabs of my choosing.
the audio devices aren't the issue, it was just the routing within OBS. i'll check in with them on that.
