It displays in chat that someone has hosted, but the notification I have set doesn't work in the overlay like it used to, and it almost looks as though SE itself isn't recognizing it.

Myself and @primal laurel have been having the issue of not being able to capture any displays when using OBS. I have tried running OBS as admin, updating, closing all other apps, and still nothing. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? Would be greatly appreciated

Please Help! When I add the scrolling text stream label for recent followers/subscribers/tips It will appear that the scrolling text is very smooth in the stream elements editor but in OBS and when I stream the scrolling text will stutter. Any Ideas why?

There's no known issue with media request appearing in OBS.Live. If you're not able to get it load after logging out and back in, it is likely a local issue with something on your computer, likely an antivirus or firewall software, blocking the connection.

As mentioned earlier, OBS.Live has not been updated since September. If you updated OBS Studio to a version we're not yet compatible with, and doing so has caused an issue, we can't do much there. Did you completely uninstall OBS Studio before installing 23.2.1?

Hey guys, I have an ultrawide screen monitor and I'm trying to setup my overlay and the thing is, I can't seem to get the overlay to stretch all the way. I set a custom resolution on Streamelements then I set the resolution for the overlay on OBSlive as well. It still doesn't seem to want to work.

Overlays default to 1920x1080, which is 16:9 aspect ratio. You will need to change the overlay's resolution and edit your assets' positions in order to accommodate a wider display like 16:10 or larger.

I recently testrecorded a 7-8h session with way too high video bitrate causing my file to be 20GB.
I do have good computer (corei9 with RX 5700 XT) & I'm trying to stream & record in 4K without getting absurd file sizes / internet bills while maintaining a decent quality.
I'm using OBSlive / Streamelements to record & stream and noticed these programs have a great amount of settings and am not sure how to optimize all of these. I did lower the bitrate but for example I have no clue whether I should use a hardware or software encoder.
Would highly appreciate if you could point me towards trustable sources regarding these subjects

Now my question is, you say "In Chat". Is there something else I need to do to make sure that it is "In Chat"?

SLOBS has a feature called selective recording which Selective Recording makes it easy to stream and record two different video outputs. This means that the sources your viewers see when they watch your live stream can be removed from a recorded video. Similarly, add additional sources to a recorded video without having them appear on your livestream.
so you could record gameplay and webcam but hide other things in the recording

Check in Settings>Stream and make sure it's configured correctly. If you connected your Twitch account directly, disconnect and reconnect, making sure you're on the correct account.

Some alerts might import with custom CSS that's still written for their system rather than ours. In that case you'll need to disable custom CSS and do a bit of editing with our settings to get it how you like it again.

It's a 1:1 placement. Your overlay in your account is 1920x1080, so you position and size it in the editor, and then it's exactly in place when you add your browser source.

Hey! I have the problem that all alerts are working fine except the hostings. First I thought it's a problem with the configuration but they don't even show up in the Activity Feed. That's why the alert won't be triggered. Any solution for this? Thank you! 🙂

You can also create a new profile inside obs for twitch/YouTube which allows you to swap panels and various other things by simply switching profiles. It works really well if you’re logged in via obs 😉

Question about audio, my setup: PS4 > Elgato HD60s > PC with OBS, xlr mic with mixer > PC. Problem: i have a audio source that is the mic ofcourse, but if i want to play some spotify music on the background (Desktop Audio: Default) it pics up my mic there as well. so i have double mic. I want to keep my mic seperate from the default desktop audio though. How do i achieve this? i can't work it out and i think i am overlooking a really simple setting or something like that.

once you have the panel, you should be able to "toggle" the media request on/off and see it inside OBS as part of the overlay

the import tool can not import big video files or copy written assets from stream labs (gifs that belong to stream labs) if the import fails try removing those from your overlays before import

So i'm having a problem with the hypecup. I recently removed all of the default icons it came with and added my own for my subscriptions. But now each time i test it, it freezes ONLY when i pick subs. Anything else, it doesn't freeze. What's the deal with this??
I don't understand how to get around this other than go back to default settings and i don't wanna do that. The only way to unfreeze it is if i reload the cup or clear it out completely.
So adding a new variaiton fixed it but now it freezes still. This is very aggravating..

It works fine for everything else except for subs and it always defaults to my Tier 3 for some odd reason when i test it. When i try to do a custom test for how the Tier 1 looks, it doesn't work at all and freezes and i have to reload the cup in order to unfreeze it

I was hoping there was something like that available. I'm an IRL backpack streamer and want to make an interactive starting soon screen - where chat would type a command and then an action happens (a hidden source - let's say a gif - would play and then disappear after a set amount of time).

So I've been trying to stream at 720p60fps from PS4 to PC using an Elgato HD60 Pro. The preview that shows on OBS looks good and I don't drop any frames but when I look at it on the actual stream it looks grainy especially when there's a lot of movement going on
What is your bitrate?

So it's not grainy like it's really blocky?

cause the overlays are browser sources. You can use studio mode to preload scenes or use a (stinger) transition.

when you go to that scene press the mute key for your mic.

If you’re on Xbox the lightstream integration currently only works for mixer directly off the Xbox.
If you can get it into obs then you can send that to lightstream and use overlays there

it's a restreaming service

The problem is I can't get my mic output and sound to come through my headset. I can only have both if I use earphones and a headset at the same time. The quality of webcam display is god awful despite paying for a good quality one.

because I'm still working on the previous issue and Nerdordie thought I should update to the latest client instead of 19.whatever and everytime I update obs studio obs.live says I have an update and takes it back to 19

obs 24.0.3 is the latest hotfix from obs | StreamElements is working on a version of obs live for the current obs hotfix

you can switch to obs studio in the menu and see if it still triggers. I was able to get the file to trigger that behavior in a web browser pretty sure its the file

The cam link is essentially a usb capture card in a small form factor. To capture the hdmi output from the camera you’ll want a cam link or capture card. USB doesn’t have enough bandwidth on the ports to deliver video from a DSLR

this seems to cover a lot of info about what you might need to use a dslr as a cam. did you google to see whether your cam is compatible? if you suspect it's not, it's best to contact elgato's support directly. @golden lodge

i can !sr songs. that works, but if there is no song on it doesn't default to the backup list. i made my own backup list and added that to the backup list tab in settings and since then it doesn't play anything other than the element's ad.
