A few weeks ago I switched from full SLOBS to full Streamelements. I have run into a number of issues. The two most pressing issues that I need help with (and I will forever be in your debt) is how to get widgets and counters that say things such as sub count, recent dono, etc, and I need help with how to set up my alerts.
I have all my graphics and stuff for my overlay in my scenes in OBS, and I did install OBS.Live over it but it doesn't seem to have helped in these regards.

Steps to use a custom font:

  1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.
  2. In the overlay widget settings, select Text Settings
  3. Enable Custom Font
  4. Type the name of the font as it appears in the windows font directory (This is usually C:\Windows\Fonts)

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

Hey guys, with OBS.live I would always get "encoding overloaded" even on the lowest settings. I uninstalled and run vanilla OBS with the same settings and the issue has yet to come up. If there's any way I can help figure out this issue, or if it's unique to my system, I'd be glad to help.

the overlay is a browser source which takes its time based on your internet speed and other factors to load in.
You can use studio mode to preload scenes.

so i stream on a laptop, and i know that i either need to decide to use game capture and window capture, or display capture as i would need to change which graphics card obs uses. I am uses game and window capture, so am using my nvidia, not the integrated graphics card, and game capture works fine. However, my window capture is black. What is the problem?

In order for your viewers to be able to change quality, you need to be an affiliate an encoder slots on Twitch to be available.

Partners get priority and Affiliates get those slots when there are free slots.

This is not something you can control.

So its best as an Affiliate to stream at 720p30 or maybe 60fps

Hey guys. in OBS.live version 19.3.8.351 I have found a bug. I use a Yeti microphone for my mix/aux and the desktop audio goes through it. Currently with the Desktop audio settings I have Mix/Aux set to Monitor Only (mute Output) However... it's not muting the output so when I speak it's picking up in the desktop audio and the mix/aux audio. Work around was to turn monitoring off.

@runic kettle Some of their support will do that out of a misunderstanding of what OBS.Live is, but OBS.Live is a plugin that adds functionality, it's not its own OBS version. It doesn't affect how audio is handled at all.

Question for you amazing and helpful individuals. I have been using the activity feed menu to assign my custom bot account, but it doesn't save when I close the program. After I connect the custom bot account, it brings me to the custom bot login page, and it shows that I have not completed setup when I have. Is there a trick to this? Thanks guys and gals.

youtube and mixer are not supported in obs.live yet. its planned but no eta.
mixer chat is in obs but as you use restream you wont be able to use it, that being said, if you use restream chat then you dont need the other chat windows anyway

Hi - I am still having the issue that has been reported here a few times where OBS Live breaks the Twitch panels built into OBS Studio. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin with no luck. Right now, to make it work, I need to disconnect and reconnect my Twitch account every single time I open OBS which is a pain. Is there a timeline for this fix? I believe it was reported shortly after the OBS 23 release and someone here said the devs were looking at it.

I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this. But I recently switched over from streamlabs obs to just regular obs with the streamelements plug in. Now whenever I streamed on streamlabs obs it all worked fine. No encoding overloded or dropped frames or anything. But whenever I switched to obs and tried streaming I started to get very low fps and a encoding overloaded message. All my settings are exactly the same as streamlabs but im still having problems with low fps and encoding overloaded when streaming with obs. Could someone please help me? I really love how streamelements is and I would love to use it.

  2. Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
  3. Stop your stream/recording.
  4. Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste it here.

Since Apex Legends doesn't have optimized GPU drivers yet, it tends to take up all your GPU resources, leaving nothing for OBS. nah there's one thing left:

Running a game without vertical sync or a frame rate limiter will frequently cause performance issues (both your game and OBS) because your GPU will be maxed out. Enable vsync or set a reasonable frame rate limit that your GPU can handle without hitting 100% usage. If that's not enough you may also need to turn down some of the video quality options in the game.

Hi! I am having an issue getting my elgato stream card to work properly with the OBS live. On my previous OBS it would show the card and then an actual elgato video that i would select. @late musk Due to recent changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

  • All manual host events (0 hosts included and if filter set to 0)
  • All auto host events with at least 1 viewer

I think there is no way to change the color of the Acrivity feed and the Madia Request. You can just make the Twitch chat white.

@deep birch For some reason, my stream started to lag a lot like a slide show when I stream Apex or Assassins Creed Odyssey. Message in OBS says Encoding overloaded, but I use simple setting, all low in game, just like in tutorial.

@snow coral For info with the new NVENC Encoder you would need to ask the OBS guys. The problem with streaming apex, we can try to sort it out here, but if we can't figure the issue, also asking the OBS guys will be the final solution.
But in your log is no output session. Can you provide one with an output session?

Please check if the widget is in the overlay and you saved the overlay. Mabye clear browser source cache.
You can try to log out of OBS.Live and log back in. Maybe after that the widget in the overlay will reconnect.

Please delete the widget in the overlay editor and create a blank overlay and add it there.
Then go to the media request on streamelements.com and try to hit show on stream and see if it in the overlay editor active please.

Hi , I’m having trouble getting game audio. I use an egato hd60s with my console and when I have my headphones plugged into my computer I have no game audio from the Xbox. Or vice versa, if I’m plugged into controller I have game audio but no audio on computer for music. I use OBS live / stream elements

This issue is not really realated to OBS.Live as it is plugin for OBS Studio and does not change the core of OBS and its Sound settings. So I can't help you with that issue, as I have no idea of audio on consoles and its routing.

Ah. Have you contacted Elgato about that? Sounds like something is messing for settings with the Capture Card. I haven't used one myself as do the poorman way streaming Xbox to my PC.

@odd kraken I OBS Live is version 29.3.8.351 and OBS Studio is version 23.0.2 but chat works fine. It’s when I try to type in chat. It asks for me to log into my twitch account. This happens every time I close OBS and the next day when I turn OBS back on.
