There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

  1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
  2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
  3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
  4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

What's up guys! Is anyone else's timer chatbot messages sometimes not come through? It's inconsistent for my streams. Somedays it will work fine, and other it won't work at all. (Yes I have streamelements added as a mod in my settings hence why it works...sometimes)

That does belong in #helpdesk-youtube. It's also a known issue the devs are working to fix. There is no ETA when though. The main challenge is YouTube changed how new brand accounts are defined on and off the platform for brands made after August this year. Any brand accounts made after that time are considered "exclusive to YouTube." That's apparently breaking how brand accounts can link to streamelements.

Well you can stream with vanilla OBS.

Even with chat. The only thing is you would need to use a third party chat bot like nightbot, I've heard it's easy to setup.

Any alerts would have to go through a second service too. Also with OBSlive or vanilla OBS, you get reduced CPU usage. Streamlabs is a resource hog.

Yes it is. It has the same features as streamlabs with less of the cpu usage. You can still use OBSlive to stream you just need to link up the OBS part of it and the only downside is what I mentioned, having to use a separate chat bot and an alert system. When openning OBSlive just click "continue without logging in"

Then use it like you would OBS making sure everything is setup like OBS was. It's my understanding that once you install OBSlive it overwrites OBS so even if you installed vanilla OBS before it's going to be OBSlive since OBSlive is just OBS with streamelements plugins built in.

Considering there is a login issue with brand accounts created after August 2021, it may take more than a few days to process. I would give it a couple days. It's not instant.

Coffeeman, is the one that told you and ROLF it was instant when it's not. Once the account is actually closed it will be unclaimed. Just because I'm not staff doesn't mean I don't know anything. What I know regarding closing accounts came from a staff member. I wish they either had more staff members or were a bit more active, honestly.

hey everyone, new here but have some questions/statements. I used to stream on twitch a bit and didn't have any issues with OBS or dropped frames or being overloaded. I recently switched to try streaming on YT and now all of a sudden I'm getting overloaded its' saying. I have my settings to NVENC and I have looked up numerous videos on how to setup the stream with YouTube but nothing seems to be working. I hope this is the right place to come to ask this. I know my PC is capable of streaming because it has in the past. Just something with my settings must be screwed up or something...

Okay first off if you started using OBS live and was originally using obs without issue there could be a simple solution to this. I've ran into this overload issue before with OBS and the issue was fixed when I switched it to run as administrator in the properties of the exe. OBS live must have that run as administrator permission applied as well because it is literally obs with some added plugins by streamelements.

@wintry wadi that might have worked. I get the encoding overload when launching into the game and then it goes away, its like a quick overload then disappears and seems to run smooth. Man if that was the only issue, I feel like an idiot but thank you so much for answering. I will be sure to come back here if I still have more issues in the future.

Hi I've been trying to connect my youtube account to stream elements but it gives me:

"Error 400: invalid_request
Account restricted"

I recently made a secondary youtube account that is a brand account of the main one and when I check it's google account it's called a:
brand account (limited to youtube)

I'm not sure what this means or how to fix this but I am assuming the (limited to youtube) is the cause of the issues.

The second from the top of the pinned list message answers that. Apparently there is a known issue with going live on YouTube with OBS Live.
"Currently there is a known issue with going Live with OBS.Live. Devs are aware of the issue. The workaround for this is, to click on the "Live Video Settings" button in the chat dock and use the 2nd option from the pop up "Use these settings" to go live." - KeiZar

I also know there is a problem with going live on YouTube with StreamElements as well as the chat box being blank so it's hard to say when they will get the login issue fixed considering the other other issues that are happening too. yup I just made a new youtube account linked to a new google account making it a google youtube account rather then a brand one as I had no content on the original.
It may be able to swap the original brand account to a google account by moving it being the youtube account directly of a google account but I am not sure.

I sign into one e-mail and can choose from multiple YouTube accounts. It's listed as TrueHog, same as as user name, it let's me get all the way to the end but before logging in I get this error message. If Log into the e-mail associated with the original youtube channel it works fine. However, nightbot works fine selecting other channels to use its services.

I'm having an issue with my alerts not showing up in streamelements, I had my overlay all set up and received an alert for my first subscriber, but after that all other subscribers got no notifications and a superchat also did not show.
When I look at the dashboard on streamelements it say I only have 1 subscriber and no super chats, but when I look on my youtube dashboard it says I had 3 new subs and 1 superchat?
Anyone know of a fix for what appears to be a broken link between youtube and streamelements for alerts?

p.s when I try the Emulate it still works and displays correctly in OBS, so definitely seems like an issue between youtube and streamelements <@&382267076632379392>

oh and one other thing that is odd is that it is showing that the account is LIVE when I am no longer streaming, SE still thinks Im live right now

The problem im having is my streamelements obs fully crashes when trying to “go live with youtube live dashboard settings” to add, i did try several things, i used the stream key off youtube, i also tried connecting my youtube live directly to my obs and neither seem to start a stream up, if i creat a new youtube live with my obs settings its fine, but with new settings there isnt as much stream info for my viewers? Much more confusing than twitch setup 😖

I hope this is the right place to ask this, I streamed earlier today on YouTube and my StreamElements overlays weren't working. When I go to my SE page it doesn't seem to know how many subs I have, saying I have 0. The chat didn't update in the overlays and my sub goal didn't update either, and of course alerts weren't doing anything. I'm using vanilla OBS with a browser source for the overlays. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hey there, I was wondering if someone can help me. I'm trying to add my Facebook and Twitch account to my Streamelements so i can duplicate my overlays to the different platforms and it keeps telling me account already claimed. I have to sign out of each account separately but it doesn't show up in the list to copy over to the other account. Would someone mind helping me with this? Thank you in advance!

I'm having an issue with my alerts not showing up in streamelements, I had my overlay all set up and received an alert for my first subscriber, but after that all other subscribers got no notifications and a superchat also did not show.
When I look at the dashboard on streamelements it say I only have 1 subscriber and no super chats, but when I look on my youtube dashboard it says I had 3 new subs and 1 superchat?
Anyone know of a fix for what appears to be a broken link between youtube and streamelements for alerts?
p.s when I try the Emulate it still works and displays correctly in OBS, so definitely seems like an issue between youtube and streamelements <@&382267076632379392>
oh and one other thing that is odd is that it is showing that the account is LIVE when I am no longer streaming, SE still thinks Im live right now

if it makes any difference, the way I started the stream was to create an event using the youtube creator dashboard, then went to OBS and selected the event I had created and clicked start streaming.
But as I said the first alert triggered everything in SE just fine, so it clearly detected the broadcast at the start, there was some kind of disconnect after that where no more alerts (including a superchat) were fired and SE still hasn't detected that the broadcast has ended

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Hello. When I tested everything via OBS with Streamelements to stream on YouTube. It would freeze so I am not sure why this is happening as in the past I would go onto YouTube, click go live and then start stream from OBS and it would connect with no issues. Is this a known issue?

Unfortunately, I think this place if for troubleshooting issues involving streaming on YouTube with Streamelements not growing a channel on YouTube. Fortunately, you can seek out VidIQ and of Daniel Batal on YouTube. Those two give very helpful advice on channel growth.

For overlay chat it has to be done with a public stream. Unlisted and private won't work.

The only feedback I have gotten is "we know about it". Now when so many big names are moving from twitch to youtube. One could think that this was a high prio. Hi, I've set up my layout for my Youtube stream and put up some info about Members, Superchats and all that but it's not appearing on my stream right, and even weirder, it started the stream showing the number of Members I had, then middle of the stream, the number went to 0 alluvasudden.

That doesn't fix my issue because I can't get past the start screen where you log in without clicking "continue without logging in." I'm not able to log in because of error 400. Also I know it's a known issue most likely but I'm experiencing a weird stream syncing issue where if I start the stream with YouTube studio I end up having an odd 5 second delay when the feed comes from OBS to YouTube studio, YouTube studio acts as if I am not streaming at all during that time. The only work around I found is to just start the stream from obs live and refresh the page on YouTube studio in order for it to pick up that I've started streaming.

Pardon me. How is this my issue now? I did nothing to change the error text. It changed by itself over the period of a week I only checked once a week to see if I could log in. That was a tad rude of you to accuse me of causing an additional issue. It would be nice to know "something" besides "no eta." It sounds like the fact new brand accounts can't log in is a not a big issue at all to you guys. I don't get it.

So I've been testing out my widgets for my counters, specifically sub goals for that stream session.
I've been trying to reset the counter to 0. When I reset session data, the count returns to 0, but when I click the emulate sub event again, then it increments from a random number from previous sessions and has different count increments.
I've looked through tutorials with resetting session data, and that does not seem to be working. Even deleting and recreating the overlay does not help.
Any suggestions are appreciated😄

Currently streaming at YouTube with 1440p 18,000 bitrate, have people coming in complaining on stutters even if YouTube offers transcoding (other people say its fine) Is there still a bitrate cap for 1080p streams at 4500 bitrate? I've been trying to link my YouTube brand account to StreamElements with no success (Error 400). I've seen reports on here with other people having the same issue.

I've been trying to help YouTube by sending any info I can get their way but it seems like there isn't much they can do. I assume the devs have reached out to YouTube?

So I streamed again yesterday and got the same problem as before, I had a new member join and the alert didn't get triggered, later that same stream I had subscriber alerts come through just fine. While I was still live I went into the StreamElements overlay editor and ran an Emulation for 1 new member and it worked just fine triggering in OBS like it should!

The fact this has happened again makes me think have I done something wrong with the account setup!

I previously used SE on twitch, so when I decided to move to YT I added an account to my existing twitch profile and logged in to YT and chose my brand account, should this have been the main account instead? Should I disconnect this and just create a completely separate YT account?

Hi! Recently switched to YouTube for streaming, used to be on Twitch. I linked my YouTube to my Twitch account on Streamelements and the issue I'm having is my alerts show up when I test them but now when I stream. @lethal grail unfortunately YouTube is an jerkwad when it comes to alerts. Tips, superchats, and memberships should have no issues but due to the design change they made last year we no long can accurately display subs. See my pinned message along with this.

Having SE.Pay enabled on one account doesn't automatically enable it on linked accounts. You need to set up two separate accounts, with two separate tipping links and two separate balances, to be used when you are live when the respective platform. You can't use SE.Pay from one platform while live in the other platform.

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Honestly the fix is not that hard. I mean I don't know what goes into it but there are other services that require your channel to be linked to them such as Vid IQ and Tubebuddy and they've never experienced a single problem after the change in how brand accounts are created. In my opinion, I think it's because it's not a high priority to them. I may be mistaken here obviously but it's at least giving me the impression that Twitch is more of a higher priority platform than YouTube when it comes to streamelements's devs. I really wish they would give an update as to what they're doing with all the issues regarding streaming on YouTube including the error 400 issue instead of just saying, "there's no ETA" or "we're working on it." Just my take though.

The fix might not be as easy as you think.
Lets just say that the Youtube API is not as open and straight forward as the Twitch API, especially when privacy settings are involved, where its harder to work around, even if we do have direct contact with Youtube/Google when it comes to developing or fixing things for the Youtube Integration.

Also please understand that, we are growing at a rate that our focus is divided into different projects now and even as of recent few months there hasn't been any specific Twitch focus, besides the projects that we've been working on that actually are meant to be used different platforms, but due to specific limitations, we are not able to implement everything for every platform (case in point Loyalty system cannot be implemented for Youtube and Facebook due to specific API limitations, not sure personally on Trovo having Loyalty system).

With that said, devs have shifted their focus recently on the Brands account login issue and we will be looking into fixing this as soon as possible, but no ETA can be given on when exactly. It can be next week or next month as this requires time to investigate and work it out with Youtube as well.

Just note that providing any sort of ETA, may give false information and would mean we have lied to the community in general, if we don't actually hit that target date. The exact date for a fix is hard to figure out when there are a lot more internal factors at play.

  1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
  2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.

Hi everyone, I'm currently in a bit of a bind regarding some issues with StreamElements' YT integration.

Scheduled Streams Unable to Stream to Stream Key

Regarding Scheduled Streams, they simply aren't working anymore. The issue I'm having is that any stream Scheduled on YouTube, that I attempt to stream to causes a freeze on OBS's side once OBSlive is installed.

The moment I click "Start Streaming" the entire windows becomes unresponsive and no data is ever sent according to YT's side.

This issue is brand new to me. It has been affecting my regular collab partner since he switched to StreamElements. Last night I was able to stream to a Scheduled Stream. As of this morning however I cannot.

Chat Overlay

Regarding Chat Overlay. The OBSLive Widget displays chat correctly however it will not display on my stream through the StreamElements Overlay Browser Source. This started last night and from what I can test today is still ongoing.

Does anyone have any information on these problems?

I also discovered that you can workaround this by replacing the key, closing the OBS client, opening it again, and then going live. It seemed to in my case at the very least stream to the last Stream Key I had input.

@sacred spoke correct. YouTube doesn't have a "lobby" when a stream ends unlike twitch/trovo so no way for the bot to connect.

so about a month ago I made the switch from Twitch streaming to YouTube and imported all my overlays over from my Twitch account to my StreamElements YouTube account. So my issue is that for some reason I can't get my Dashboard to update anything at all, it's literally been empty for the past month. and (while I'm aware it could take up to 4 hours to update) all of my new subscribers never show up on my list either. If anyone is able to help it would be much appreciated 🙏.

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
  2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
  3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
  4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.
