@lime walrus that red button in the middle now says "add YouTube account" and if I click it, it starts the whole process over of asking to connect to my YouTube account. But I already did that weeks ago. I haven't gone through it all the way again because I'm scared I'm going to lose my overlays

And all my overlays still work in OBS, so they exist somewhere, I just can't get in to my dashboard or overlay editor to edit them

I would suggest screenshoting the overlays and saving them. Then you could restart the whole process. But I'm newer here so I'm not sure if that would work.. :scratchhead:

@runic dune So this button thats in the middle of the site shows "Add Youtube" instead of "Connect"? I usually when get logged out of my Twitch account I still click on "Connect with twitch". If this button says "add" then logout of your twitch account that logs you into(top right logout) then click on teh "connect with youtube" and it should pick up your account. Hopefully.

The Mobile App is for IRL Streaming only at the moment. You'll need a Capture Card or PC to use Remote Play to use Overlays.

A mobile app will not help you get overlays on a console stream. Currently, you can only get an overlay on a console if you stream from a PC

What exactly do you mean by coin bot? The loyalty for twitch is a system where users get points for watching, subbing etc, and can ask the bot how many of the chosen currency they have.

There used to be a points system for YouTube called fussbot bit from what I know(don't hold me to this because this could be fake news) but fussbot was bought by YouTube to be shut down but I'm not 100% sure what happened

You don't need to watch your own stream usually and most people use OBS to stream to Youtube and have an overlay that holds an alert box.

Unless you're using a capture card or remote play, you're pretty much just restricted to the bot and tipping page. Consoles don't have the functionality to get fancy.

You are risking a lot by giving a total stranger your IP address

I may work for Streamelements, but that doesn't make it safe or reasonable to give your IP address away like that.

Remove all your overlays from OBS from all scenes

and start adding them back in one by one.

Just try what I said - then if it isn't working then you have multiple alert widgets in one overlay - then you can poke your desktop audio.

Well, it's "possible" in the idea that you can switch between them, but they do not share any data. The only benefit is being able to copy an overlay design from one to the other.

I'm fiddling around with setting up YouTube stream for the first time.
My OBS.Live chat box does not seem to detect the youtube chat. I tried refreshing the overlay, which had no effect. Is there something else that I should be doing?

It will tax your internet connection and maybe viewers. Not sure how Youtube works with encoding, but usually you need specific encoders from twitch's side to be able to stream properly at higher bitrate.

Also depending on your PC specs, higher bitrate may cause some stutter or more GPU/CPU usages.

I'm having trouble with my "subscriber goal" (for the month) widget. I can't seem to find a way to make these linked across all my overlays...seems as though I have to edit them all individually. Is there a master control for this to change all at once? Also, the bar isn't updating correctly...it still has the figures for last month (Dec)

They are not linked. So editing settings on one only changes the settings on that specific overlay.

You can reset the goal progress on the Data tab at the top of the overlay editor or via Activity Feed -> Widget Data

@runic dune if you add the sub goal to a scene, then use the copy button on the bottom left in the overlay manager to copy said widget to another scene it should be the same thing. then, go to the data - goals tab and reset the goals as needed. all sub goal widgets should get the change, since it is not overlay specific.

What I did was, when I originally made my overlays, I copied them from another existing overlay that already had the sub goal widget on it. Is this substantially different than what you're saying? The same widget "object" should've been transferring over to the new overlay initially. But the current behavior is that I had to update the text and sub goal and end date for all the widgets individually

ok so, did you copy the widget itself to the other scenes? cause i just tried it, set a sub goal with a specific end date and sub goal number, changed colors etc. i then used the button that looks like 2 sheets of paper with a red dot to copy it to another scene and it had all settings saved in the new scene too. http://voidsmind.com/s/firefox_2019-01-06_04-18-55.png

I didn't do it that way, but I think I achieved the same effect initially. It was fine at first cause my monthly sub goal was for the (then) current month. But once the month changed and I modified the widget on one of my overlays, the other ones didn't update in sync. Have you verified that these stay linked when you change one?

OR even better idea. do 1 subgoal overlay and use it as an overlay only for that. that way you can copy it into your scenes in OBS and dont have to change all the scenes manually.

We didnt make OBS Studio, and if you are not using a mac that can support it, there is nothing we can do about it. If you want to use overlays, you will need to find broadcasting software you can run on your system, that supports browser sources

Directly on YouTube's website you should be able to find a built in screen capture for streaming with the chrome browser, its basic af but still better then ancient obs @versed tangle you could also run a linux virtual machine if that's easier
