Good day! 🙂 I am interested to do special custom commands on streamelements where one specific command may give a variety of responses (like the 8ball). Is that possible? I have checked the commands list and am familiar with fixed response commands, but can't find a way to do the above.

I also tried to study the 8ball command to modify but realise it uses a preset 'module'. Not something I can pluck out and modify there..

Example of what I'm looking for :

!fish -> $(user) has caught a big fish
!fish -> $(user) has caught a carp

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

i want to setup some bot commands that play suond effects. i only find tutorials/posts which show how to setup a store redemption which raises 2 questions

1. I don't need store redemptions for many sounds. I just want to play them on command X. Are store redemptions really the only way to trigger sounds by chat command?
2. When creating such redemption. I have the option to create a "soundeffect", however there is no widget for playing that, the widget only works with "stream perks". so apparently "sound effects" are not meant to be audible? whats the point here?

As far as I know, the media you use in the stream store overrides the media in the widget. I'm not sure how that interacts with the alert duration. I would recommend you play around with it, reducing the alert duration to 1 second just to see if it cuts the media short or not.

Since you only need to add and configure the widget once for all your future store redemptions, it seems not overly complicated to me. YMMV of course.

the point is I need no redemptions at all, why would I want it to setup for 'all my future redemptions'? i want to add something like ${playsound 'rick-roll'} to a random chat command...simpler than what redemptions are? I have batch uploaded around 40 sounds, now I need to click the "create redemption" button 40 times and enter meaningless details 40 times? do you see how this is magnitudes more complicated than what I need?

redemption might be useful if they could redeem twitch channel points but I havent seen any option for that...

You can do that with a command with the response being ${redeem SoundName} and a single command instead of !redeem name

You can add, remove and make changes to custom commands in chat with !command/!cmd flags:

!command add (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you **to add **a new custom command
!command remove (commandname) - allows you to delete a custom command
!command edit (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you to edit an existing custom command
!command show (commandname) - allows you to see the raw response of a command before variables are used
!command options (commandname) -(flag) - allows you to change settings for an existing custom command

To reset goals:

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

If you’re trying to share them the way Harris Heller does, that is not something handed out to everyone. The best option is for your friends to add you as an editor to their dashboard and that will give you permission to duplicate your overlays to their account

Hi there. I really like SE for the in-chat alerts, they help me see if someone followed me and react in time. But yesterday something happened to the bot and I missed 2 followers. is OBS freezing or your stream? If you're experiencing freezing, it's most likely due to an issue with your internet connection - specifically the connection to Twitch's servers

@tacit schooner Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

I am having trouble getting my alert notifications to show during my live streams (Twitch or YouTube).

I currently use OBS Studio (not StreamLabs OBS).

When I test them on the streamelements website (live streaming or just off stream testing, everything works fine.

But when someone follows or subscribe during the stream nothing shows.

I have my alert boxes set to 1920/1080 on the website and in the OBS Studio Scenes.

I am also aware of the privacy settings on YouTube that may prevent getting notifications on YouTube, but again nothing is showing for Twitch either.

Is there anything else that I am missing???

So I believe the only way to stop that is to ban them from chat and add them to your block list on twitch. If you just want to stop alerts, you can mute or skip ones that come in but they still get sent

I also have the "Pick an alert randomly when more than one matches" box unchecked. I'm not sure what else to do so it only plays the correct ONE for the sub tier.

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Hello, i'm a turkish streamer. We generally use bynogame.com which seems partnered with you. I did a connection between streamelements and bynogame but it always loses that connection. I constantly have to renew this connection like 3 times an hour and so a lot of donations are lost.

Hello. Idk if this is a bug or something but: So when i changed my overlays recently I duplicated my existing free ones from stream elements to just change images etc for ease. Well, when I changed the alert image to match my new colour scheme all the alerts except my Cheer one have updated. In the image preview for cheer it has the image I uploaded, but when i test it out/ an event happens on stream it is the old image. Is this a bug?

Check the variations for the cheer alert. By default it has multiple variations based on amounts - if you update the main alert, the variations will still be the same

Hello, I'm watching a streamer on twitch,it has some items in the streamelement store that I can get for watching the stream. a person who has not subscribed to the channel( ansab) gets 10 points for 10 minutes. the subscriber receives 30 points in 10 minutes (sub) . I bought a sub from this streamer, and I get 10 points in 10 minutes. (shows that I'm a subscriber, but the points go the same as for ansab ) can you tell me what the problem is? please help me ...

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible. https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4

That might be possible with a custom event list widget. You can check out the custom widgets in #widget-share - and if that is not enough, you can customize those yourself.

Followers are being registered for your account, everything looks good. Old events will not show up in our system, so everything that happened before will not be in the activity feed/dashboard.

Widgets will display the data if you want it.

We call them widgets, they are located in the overlay editor and there are lists of last events, total numbers etc. - feel free to check out all of them to find the right ones for you
